Disable notifications for Viber group chat on Windows

Mute incoming Viber messages on Windows
The easiest and surest way to get rid of notifications with the melody of an incoming message for all contacts is disable sound notifications in application settings. This method only works in the classic Viber application for Windows. Disable Viber notifications in Windows 10
Currently, there are no notification settings in the Viber program settings for Windows 10 that allow you to mute the sound of incoming messages. This is because Windows 10 allows you to configure notifications for applications from the Microsoft Store (and not only) in the system settings.
Let's take a closer look at this setting. To mute Viber messages on Windows 10, we need to open Windows Settings, in the window that opens, go to the section System (Screen, notifications, power) and select the item in the left menu Notifications and Actions. Scroll down the page to the list of applications and find there Viber.
To disable both sound notifications and notifications that pop up on the desktop, simply set the switch opposite Viber to the inactive position.
If we need to keep the display of notifications on the screen, and we want to disable only the sound of notifications, then we click on the Viber application in the list of programs, find the item Sound signal when receiving a notification and deactivate it.
After the settings have been made, Viber messages in Windows 10 will arrive without sound notification.

This method is presented more for informational purposes, since the previous configuration options are most often quite sufficient. However, even on Windows you can replace program sound files similar to Android OS. All you need for this:
- have rights to access system directories;
- know where the file we are interested in is located;
- have a file without sound with an extension corresponding to the original one.

Knowing the location of the necessary files, we only need to replace these sound files with those that we want to hear, or even with empty ones for " mute" in a programme.
