Rear panel of lg smart tv. LG Smart TV Apps: Find and Install

IPTV, an excellent opportunity to watch TV channels in high quality and, moreover, completely free. Owners of LG smart TVs often wonder how to watch iptv on an lg smart TV for free. I will try to give two options for answering this question in this short review.

  • Installing the app
  • Installing the appSS IPTV;

Both of these options, in principle, make it possible to view channels for free, which one will be more convenient for you personally, decide for yourself. I will try to point out in this article all the nuances of each of the applications for viewing channels.

How to set up iptv on smart tv on lg smart tv:SSIPTV

You can watch channels via the Internet connection using the application SSIPTV, of course, if you are the lucky owner of LG smart TV. All that is required of you is a playlist with channels and a competent setting of the TV itself, and of course, connecting the TV to the Internet. If you have already started using your smart TV, then you know that first you need to register an account, confirm it in an email and enter the data in the TV interface. This way you will be able to use all its possibilities.

As soon as you connected the Internet to the TV and logged in to the smart TV, the LG Store app store will become available to you, in which you can find SSIPTV... When you go to the corresponding icon with the application, click download and wait until it is installed on the TV. By running SSIPTV, you will see a menu, here you need to go to the settings. In the settings, select the item "download playlist".

As soon as the list with the channels, the playlist, is loaded, the "my playlist" section will appear on the main screen of the application, by opening it, you can see the full list of available TV programs.

How to watchIPTVon tvLg Smart TVfree with appVinteratv

With Vintera tv, everything is much simpler, this application already has a ready-made list of channels, that is, you don't have to download a playlist. There is certainly less choice here, but it is quite enough for most users.

In terms of installation and use, too, nothing complicated. Just search for Vintera tv in the LG Store, download, install and enjoy watching. The main thing is to remember that your lg TV must be connected to the Internet at all times.

Before using Smart TV, the TV must be connected to the Internet. This can be done in two ways - using a network cable or Wi-Fi wireless connection (your TV must support a Wi-Fi network connection). Here is an article describing how to connect your TV to the Internet - How to connect your TV to the Internet .

Since when connecting a TV via a network cable coming from a router, it does not require special settings, I will dwell in more detail on connecting an LG TV to a Wi-Fi network.

Press the "Settings" button on the remote control.

On the TV, select "Network" - "Connect to a Wi-Fi network"

After that, you will need to enter the password from the Wi-Fi network.

And press the "Connect" button.

If you have forgotten the password for your Wi-Fi network, you can use the WPS technology, for this, in the menu where all wireless networks are shown, select - "Connect using WPS-PBC".

After that, within a minute, you need to press the WPS button on the Wi-Fi router.

It doesn't matter which of the methods you used - entering a password or WPS, as a result you will connect to a wireless network, this can be understood from the checkmark opposite the name of the Wi-Fi network.

After that, you can start using the Smart TV function by pressing the "Smart" button on the remote control.

At the bottom of the TV, you'll see a list of the default apps installed. You can select any and run it using the "Ok" button on the control panel.

If you don't have enough installed applications, you can add more by pressing the "My Apps" button on the remote control.

Select the "LG Store" app on the TV screen.

After that, you will open all the applications that are available for your TV, select any and install it. The installed application will now appear in the list of installed applications.

If for some reason you did not manage to set up Smart TV on your LG TV, I recommend reading the article -

I just thought that I already wrote about connecting the TV to the World Wide Web. But now I will write about how to access the Internet from an LG TV, which has the Smart TV function. Perhaps for some people this article will seem too simple and unnecessary. But I am sure that many will find it useful.

Practically, from all TVs that can connect to the Internet and have the Smart TV function, you can visit sites, go to social networks, read Twitter, etc. Yes, yes, even VKontakte can be accessed from the TV while lying on the couch. Here they are - technologies πŸ™‚

This article, I will write on the example of LG TV (LG model 32LN575U, but it doesn't matter).

A few words about the browser

The browser built into LG TVs is quite decent. He even knows how to play Flash. But he is there, for playing banners, nothing more. A video on some website, or a game on a social network, will work. But, most likely, after a while an error will appear:, or something like that.

Navigation, functionality, browser speed are, as I already wrote, at a decent level. As for the TV.

How to control Internet surfing from TV?

You can control it with the included remote control. But, this is not very convenient. Then I remembered surfing the Internet from an ordinary mobile phone, which with buttons (eh, nostalgia πŸ™‚)... Controlling the TV browser with the remote control is about the same.

It is best, of course, to connect a keyboard and mouse to the TV. Better yet, a wireless keyboard and mouse. Such control will be the most convenient. If you do not have these devices, you can control the TV browser from your phone or tablet. Which runs on Andriod, or iOS.

You can also buy a branded LG Magic Remote. From which it will be very convenient to manage the browsing of sites. At least that's how it seems to me πŸ™‚. The last two methods are suitable only for LG TVs.

Connecting the TV to the Internet

It is clear that in order to view sites through Smart TV, the TV itself needs to be connected to the Internet. You can use a cable, or you can use Wi-Fi, if possible. For more details about the connection, I wrote in separate articles:

If everything is fine with the connection, then you can proceed to launching the browser and visiting sites.

We visit sites from the LG TV (Smart TV)

First, go to Smart TV (by pressing a special blue button on the remote control)... Then, at the bottom, select and launch the browser " Internetβ€œ.

Please note that on the main page of Smart TV, the icon that displays the status of the Internet connection should be green. This means that the Internet is working and you can continue.

After starting the browser, you can immediately click on the address bar, and using the keyboard, enter the address of the site that you want to visit. Or, set a search query. To confirm the transition to the address, press the button Go on the virtual keyboard, or using the cursor, select one of the options that pop-up from below.

A website or search results will open, which you can view, follow links, etc. Just like on a computer.

In the lower right corner, β€œ Mini TVβ€œ. You can simultaneously browse sites and watch TV. If this window bothers you, then you can close it. Hover over it and click on the cross that appears. To return "Mini TV", click on the TV-shaped button on the top control panel.

You can open many tabs at the same time. Just click on the green cross to open another tab. In this tab, by default, a panel opens, which displays thumbnails of the pages of the most visited sites. A little higher (under the address bar), a panel with bookmarks is displayed.

When you open a site and want to add it to your bookmarks, then just click on the corresponding button, which I showed in the screenshot below.

In order to open browser settings, history, bookmark manager and help, just click on the appropriate button and select the desired item. You can also enable full screen view, zoom in, and close the browser.

In the settings, you can choose the start page, the default search engine, enable the permanent display of the bookmarks bar, disable Flash, etc.

I just want to give you one piece of advice. I have already seen articles on the Internet several times that a vulnerability was found in Smart TVs, albeit on Samsung TVs. The data that was entered on the TV could get to the attackers. I now have to enter passwords for various sites, and even worse, payment information.

Hopefully this vulnerability has been fixed now. But, do not forget that Smart TV on any TV is a new and a little raw technology. So, for now, it is better not to pay for various services through the TV, and do not enter your payment information. For this, it is better to use a computer.

How to access the Internet from an LG Smart TV? Browsing websites from TV updated: February 7, 2018 by the author: admin

I thought for a long time how to start this article, but then I realized that this is not an essay, but an instruction πŸ™‚ Therefore, straight to the point!

In this article, I will show you how to set up technology DLNA, (on LG TVs it is called Smart Share) and directly from the TV to access movies, photos and music that are on your computer. This is a very useful feature. And if you have a TV that supports network connectivity and DLNA technology, then you definitely need to take advantage of this.

For example: you have a movie or photos on your computer that you would like to view on TV. How to do it? Yes, you can, for example, connect a TV to a computer using an HDMI cable, but it will be just like a monitor, and there may not be a cable either.

You can also drop the movie onto a USB flash drive, connect it to the TV and start the movie. Yes, but here you need a flash drive, you need to copy the information. It is much easier to go from the TV to a folder on your computer and just start a movie from there, or watch photos.

Before proceeding with the setup, I want to tell you in a nutshell what DLNA and Smart Share are.

DLNA(in its own words) is a technology that allows devices that are connected to the same network and support DLNA technology to exchange media content (video, photo, music).

Now, almost all devices support DLNA technology: computers, TVs, smartphones, game consoles, etc.

Smart Share Is a proprietary application (technology) by LG. If I can say so, then this is a kind of shell for working with DLNA. Other TV manufacturers call these programs differently. Have Samsung - AllShare. SONY - VAIO Media Server.

For instance: you can watch photos on your TV that are on your smartphone. I will write about this in one of the following articles. This article is strictly about setting up DLNA between your computer (laptop, no difference) and TV. Let me remind you that the TV must be able to connect to the network.

DLNA (Smart Share) setup between PC and TV

We need (necessarily) that our TV and computer (I have a laptop) were connected to the same network. What does it mean? This means that both the TV and the computer must be connected to the same router.

It doesn't matter in what way they are connected. The TV can be connected both via Wi-Fi ( how to connect read this article) and. The computer is the same. For example, my TV and laptop are connected to a router wirelessly.

You can even do this with the standard Windows Media Player. Despite the fact that this method has a small disadvantage, we will consider it anyway.

DLNA Setup Using Windows Media

Just start Windows Media Player (look for it in the start menu), click on the tab Flow and check the boxes next to two items:

  • Allow remote control of the player ...
  • Automatically allow devices to play my media ...

It's all. You can already go to the Smart Share menu on the TV (in case of LG TV) and watch all the media files that are in the shared folders: Music, Videos and Pictures.

Add your movie folder to Windows Media Player

If you set up the server via Windows Media, the TV will only display the standard video, music and picture folders. And the content, respectively, will be reflected only from these folders. In order not to copy the necessary films and other files into these standard folders, we can add the folders we need to the library, and they appear on the TV. How to do this, I was prompted in the comments.

Open Windows Media Player and click on the button on the left Will streamline... Hover over Library management and according to what media content you want to add, select Music Library, Video, or Gallery... For example, I want to add a folder with movies, so I choose Video.

In the new window, click on the button Add... Select the required movie folder on your computer (in my case), select it and click Add folder.

In the list, you will see all the added and standard folders. You can add more, or select the one you want and delete.

All movies, or other files that are in the folders that you added to the library, should appear on your TV in a DLNA server created by a standard player.

This method is very convenient, since it does not require the installation of special programs.

Setting up Smart Share

Almost every TV manufacturer has a proprietary computer program that allows you to configure access to files (I wrote about this at the beginning of the article). In the case of LG TVs, this program is called LG Smart Share for PC.

We need to download and install this program. You can download it from the official LG website (if you have another TV, then look for similar programs on the manufacturers' websites)... The program can be found here.

For some reason, from the official site, this program was loaded very slowly for me. Therefore, I downloaded it from another site. Here I post it on my website -. Version 2.1.1309.1101 (possibly already deprecated)... Better to download from the official site.

To install, just run the file setup.exe, which is in the archive, in the folder LG Smartshare PC SW DLNA... Installation is simple, so I'll skip this process.

After starting the program, select one of the items: Movie, Photo, Music (for configuring the program, it doesn't matter).

Immediately go to the settings, for this, in the upper right corner, click on the button Parameters.

And in the first window, immediately set the switch to the position ON(On).

Go to the next tab My shared files... This is the most important point.

Here we need to add the folders that we want to allow sharing from the TV.

Just click on the button in the form of a folder (see screenshot below), and select the folders you want to view on TV. Click on Ok to confirm. Then press the button Apply... The process of adding a folder will begin. If there are a lot of files, then the process can take a long time. We wait.

After that, our folder will appear in the list of available ones.

This completes the Smart Share setup. If you want, then on the tab My device parameters, you can also change the device name to be displayed on the TV.

That's it, the program window can be closed, it will now work quietly and be displayed on the notification panel. Also, after restarting the computer, the service will start automatically until you turn it off in the settings where you turned it on.

Configuring DLNA on TV (LG Smart Share)

On the TV, just go to Smart TV and choose Smart Share (unfortunately, I do not know how to do this on other TVs, or in models without Smart TV).

Go to the tab Connected device... We already have two DLNA servers there. The one in the form of Windows Media Player is a server created in a standard player (the first method). You can open it and view the files.

The second DLNA server is the one we created in the Smart Share program. We need it. We open it.

We see the available folders. To open our folder, to which we have opened access, then go to the folder All folders.

We open it and run the file we need. In my case, the film.

That's all! The settings are complete!

Update

If you have any problems with the setup, with the Smart Share program, or you, for example, have another TV, then I have prepared an article on how to set up a DLNA server using the Home Media Server (UPnP, DLNA, HTTP ) ". Which we have already talked about more than once in the comments. Here is the instruction -.

Afterword

The article turned out to be large, but this business is set up much faster. You only need to configure it once. Then we just add new files to open folders.

You can run DLNA on multiple computers or other devices. The main thing is that they are connected to the same network.

Best wishes!

DLNA (Smart Share) setup on LG Smart TV. We watch films and photos that are on the computer updated: September 11, 2014 by the author: admin

On TVs? " No matter how different some types of "smarts" differ from others, they, in fact, perform the same roles - they give the user access to the Internet, thereby expanding the capabilities of the usual device on the nightstand.

There are not so many brands engaged in the production of this kind of equipment, and their names are probably on everyone's lips: LG, Samsung, Sony, etc. The platforms on which these devices work are slightly different from each other , but the principles and methods of presenting information to the user are very similar.

So, let's figure out what smart TV is on TVs, and what new opportunities this functionality provides. Let's consider the main advantages and disadvantages of household appliances with such a set of add-ons, as well as the initial setup of the equipment.

What's this?

What is Smart TV on TVs? The same as in phones. The principle is the same as the prefix "smart". Smartphones, in addition to functions such as call and send SMS, have a lot of other, more attractive and interesting features than a regular phone: work with various applications, including games, access to the World Wide Web, video communication, etc. ...

Roughly the same can be said about smart TVs. They provide their user not only TV programs and films, but also Internet access, - the ability to use multimedia online content: news, weather, search, and more. That is, what is smart TV on TVs? This is "YouTube", "Google" with "Yandex", communication via Skype and other delights of the World Wide Web. In other words, this kind of technology plays the role of both a TV and a computer.

Consider the main features that an ordinary TV with smart TV has.

Internet connection

The first and most important advantage of this kind of technology is the ability to access the vastness of the World Wide Web. There are two ways to get into the network: using a cable (LAN port) or using a wireless wi-fi protocol.

Some older generation models connect to the Internet using a special set-top box. The new devices already have all the necessary functionality inside, that is, in a built-in module that provides communication via wireless protocols. The only thing the user needs to take care of is a smart Wi-Fi router.

Depending on what kind of smart TV you have, the basic functionality will differ. But almost all modern models have their own (as a rule, a borrowed computer analogue) browser, which is turned on with a separate button on the remote control. Sometimes the platform is equipped with additional widgets such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Vkontakte, etc. (Samsung TVs (smart TV) were especially distinguished by this). User reviews on this matter are ambiguous: someone likes this whole set of "useful things", and someone considers additional widgets and "chips" to be rubbish, preferring their own desktop design.

Communication

Some devices have a built-in front camera, which allows you to fully use special software for communication, like Skype. If you have a 32-inch TV (smart TV) or with a smaller diagonal, then it most likely does not have such functionality. But in most cases, the existing platform allows you to install a third-party application like the same "skype", and a webcam can be purchased and connected separately.

Some brands equip their products with their own communication utilities, but sometimes that can be a double-edged sword. That is, on the one hand, it seems like there is a camera and a program for communication, but on the other hand, it will conflict with a competing platform on the other end. Therefore, most manufacturers have made it possible to install third-party applications on their smart TV. User reviews on this matter fully support such an initiative, because some are accustomed to Skype, someone likes Facetime, and someone cannot live without Viber.

Working with external drives

Almost any device with smart functionality can easily work with third-party gadgets, be it a tablet, phone or computer. But, besides this, such TVs can read external drives, that is, flash drives, SD cards and hard drives.

For example, a brand new LG TV (smart TV) can easily be synchronized with all external storage media like Plug and Play (plug and play). The only nuance that you definitely need to pay attention to is the perceived formats. Some particularly finicky smart models cannot play, for example, mp4 formats or flac videos. Please keep this point in mind before setting up Smart TV on your TV. Also, it will not be superfluous to focus on this nuance before buying a device. This kind of equipment is not cheap, so you need to weigh everything.

Control without remote control

If you connect via Wi-Fi, for example, a 40 ”TV (smart TV) and a tablet, the latter can be easily used as a remote control. Moreover, you have the opportunity to display a picture from any mobile gadget (supporting Wi-Fi) directly to the big screen.

To synchronize both devices, you will need to install special software for a particular platform (Android or iOS). Some models, for example, LG TV (smart TV) already have such a set of utilities in the base firmware, so you will need to install the application only on a tablet or smartphone (from the same Google Play or Apple store).

In addition, some devices support the ability to voice control the main functionality. The same Samsung does an excellent job with commands such as "next channel", "next", "second channel", etc. Some models, especially small diagonals (32 "TV (smart TV) and less) do not always respond correctly to voice commands, so alternative control methods are not as good for them, as opposed to more expensive devices with a larger screen size. The latter have gesture recognition systems, and gadgets with a gyroscope and many other interesting "chips".

Broadcast recording

The functionality of any "smart" allows you to record TV shows to an external drive, be it a USB flash drive or hard drive. This is convenient when you are at work or are busy with something at the time of the broadcast.

If the channel does not have protection against scanning of such a plan, then at the right time you can set a timer for recording and save all the data for later viewing. So you can watch an interesting movie or TV show you like at any time convenient for you. Such functionality is intuitively simple, understandable and somewhat resembles the usability of a simple alarm clock.

Games

Almost all models that are presented on the domestic market have a set of gaming applications in the base firmware. Moreover, some especially powerful devices that work under the control of the Android platform allow installing very β€œheavy” toys that are in no way inferior in the quality of visualization to modern consoles and even a computer.

This feature of smart devices was especially warmly received by the owners. If you have a small or "big" child in your family, then many hours of tranquility or entertainment are provided for you. Using this functionality is utterly simple - turn it on, choose and play, so there should be no problems with settings or adaptation.

Disadvantages of smart TVs

Despite the lack of a significant list of advantages, this technology also has its disadvantages. This includes being picky about video formats. For example, if you have a mkv file, then some devices will not be able to correctly output sound. It's all about the codecs. And if in the same smartphones or tablets you can install the necessary software decoder, then not all TVs with smart TVs have this opportunity.

In addition, despite a fairly wide selection of gaming applications, most of them are primitive and are at the level of five or even ten years ago (not relevant for premium segment models and Android platforms). And the remote control is not the best option as a joystick.

Browser use and Internet surfing in general can be limited by both the utilities themselves and the capabilities of the TV. Moreover, today's price tags for smart devices are rather "biting", so most consumers (the average consumer of household appliances) prefer to take a sensible TV with a large screen, and leave all kinds of smart "gadgets" for the computer in the next room.

Smart services

Almost all venerable brands that are engaged in the production of household appliances and televisions in particular are closely involved in the smart direction. Here we are talking not only about some functionality built into the firmware for certain models, but also about special Internet services for a particular manufacturer.

Setting up services of this kind, as well as connecting, is intuitive and should not cause serious problems. In any case, every self-respecting brand has provided its platform with a special wizard-assistant who will step by step help you set up not only the smart TV itself, but also access to services, and at the same time will tell you about the intricacies of using in a training form.

Samsung

The Korean company can be called a leader in this area. The main merit of the brand is the chic price range of models and the quality of products. On the Samsung shelves you can always find exactly the option that suits you.

Smart functionality is clear and simple. To configure, you can use either an assistant, or figure it out yourself. The firmware includes YouTube, Skype and social networks. You can work on the web on a proprietary browser (also simple and straightforward) and view all the information you are interested in.

Separately, it should be noted that most of the brand's models do not have a built-in camera (even expensive devices) for video communication, so you have to buy it separately.

Lg

LG smart TVs run on its own NetCast platform. The functionality will also be simple and understandable for any user. The platform includes live streaming, a wide variety of social networks, and regular internet surfing. Moreover, the network works, as they say, in both directions. That is, you can not only read incoming messages, but also send them.

In addition, the company has taken care of high-quality services that will significantly expand the basic capabilities of your device. Here we can mention 3D World, which is capable, albeit to a small extent, but still compensate for the lack of 3D television from domestic providers. Also, smart TV users from LG have access to an application store (there are also free ones), where you can choose your favorite software from more than 200 educational, entertainment and gaming programs.

Other brands, like Sony, Philips or Toshiba, have similar service functionality and differ from each other only visually, and the main filling (capabilities) remains practically unchanged.
