Yandex mail android setup. Setting up Yandex mail on Android

Greetings, lovers and users of smartphones based on the wonderful Android operating system. An increasing number of people use their mobile gadgets, for example, tablet computers, not for entertainment, but for conducting their professional activities.

Businessmen, office workers and even technical workers have found many useful tools that not only simplify the process of carrying out professional activities, but also help them maintain contact with colleagues, customers and partners.

One of the most effective ways to stay in touch is to use email. In Russia, along with the mail service from Goolge, its domestic analogue, Yandex Mail, has gained considerable popularity.

Yandex Mail allows you to receive and send emails, send files as attachments, and also store received or sent documents on a reliable Yandex server. If your Android gadget does not respond at all, then samsung.telemama.ru will help you.

The Android operating system allows you to work with Yandex Mail using two methods:

  • Configure using the system’s built-in email client;
  • Configure using a special Android application Yandex Mail.

Let's look at each of the presented options separately.

Built-in client

So, let's get down to the simple settings of the email client built into Android, which is called “E-mail”. We will perform the setup using the POP3 protocol. Repeat the steps described and you will be happy:

If this method of using Yandex Mail on your Android mobile gadget does not suit you.

Specialized application

The easiest way to start using Yandex mail is to install a specialized application. All you need to do is install it, enter your account details: login, password and start using it.

That’s all for today, I hope this short note was useful to you and the setup did not cause you any difficulties.

". In it I wrote how to register an account on Yandex. Today I will tell you how to set up receiving letters to this mail on your smartphone or tablet on Android OS.

How can I use mail other than gmail (or its partners, for example, LiRu) on an Android smartphone or tablet? There are the following simple methods:

  • Using a web or pda interface in a browser;
  • Using a special application, if there is one for this mail service;
  • Using standard Android OS tools.
  • Obviously, the last option is the most optimal. Why is this obvious? Think about it and write your thoughts or doubts in the comments.

    In order to set up a standard email application on Android, you first need to find it. To do this, you need to find where all the applications are located. I have a list of them displayed when I click on this button (highlighted with a blue frame):

    Now in the list of all applications you need to find the application for working with email:

    Found it? For those who haven’t found it, I’ll highlight this application with a blue frame:

    Now we need to launch this application. To do this, you just need to click or press your finger on this icon:

    If you did everything correctly, the application will open soon. If you have not used this application before, you will see something like this:

    What if you (or someone else) has already added one or more email accounts to this application? There are 2 options here.

    Option #1
    Click on the screen button "" (blue frame in the screenshot below):

    In the menu that appears, select "Settings" (red frame in the screenshot above).

    In the new screen, find the inscription “Add account”:

    Option No. 2
    Go to settings, there select "Accounts and synchronization" (for Android 4.0). Or "Accounts" - "Add account" (for Android 4.4). And there select the account type "Email" or "IMAP".

    So now we see something like this:

    Here you need to enter your full email address and password (blue frame) and click on the “Next” on-screen button:

    Now you need to make the following difficult choice:

    I recommend choosing “IMAP” (for many reasons that I’m just too lazy to voice). If you are wondering why you should choose "IMAP" and not "POP3", you can ask about it in the comments.

    You will be shown something like this:

    Here you need to change the security type and port as shown in the screenshot below:

    After this, you need to click on the “Next” button.

    You will be shown something like this:

    Here you also need to change the security type and port as in the screenshot below:

    And click on the “Next” button again.

    Now you need (if necessary) to configure some other parameters:

    If you don't quite understand what's what, don't touch anything. All these settings can be changed later.

    That's all! The account has been added and now you will receive all emails directly to your phone or tablet. All that remains is to assign a name to this account (top line) and set a name for outgoing letters (bottom line), and then click on the “Next” on-screen button:

    That's all.

    This is what your email settings will now look like:

    You can read a little about the settings and interface of the mail program in the message "

    About 10 years ago, when I was just starting to look for ways to make money online, I couldn’t find proper training. You are luckier; there are great training programs on earning opportunities on social networks and more. If you're interested, you can watch it here.

    We continue to consider the main issue. Let's lay it out clearly. As they say, “one step at a time.” Ready? If you don’t have an e-mail yet or are planning to create another address, then just in case, I’ll give you step-by-step instructions on how to do it for free.

    IMAP and POP3 protocols

    What it is? It's simple - these protocols are used for the correct operation of email programs on your device. Now let's see what the difference is between them and what specific settings can be used.

    IMAP is used to synchronize with the main server. When using this protocol, letters will be saved both on the Internet and on the computer itself. This has a significant advantage - access to correspondence can be obtained from different devices, since it is accessible via the network. Of course, only for those who have a login and password for their account. If you forgot, then you can.

    When customizing an email client by working with the POP protocol, you need to know one of its features. The letters you send will be saved exclusively on your computer. Therefore, you will not be able to view them from other devices. This feature will be good for corporate email, where confidentiality is important.

    Main settings

    Let me show you how to set up your Yandex mail in a screenshot to make it clearer. To get started, go to your mail and click on the “gear” in the upper right corner.

    When clicked, a list will pop up. We do it as in the screenshot.

    Select the mail program settings as shown below.

    Now you can select the protocol you want to use.

    To configure your email client, you may need to enter the following information:

    • Addresses of servers through which letters will be sent and received;
    • Port number for interaction with the server;
    • The type of connection over which data will be encrypted.

    Both protocols have the same server for sending your letters - smtp.yandex.ru. SSL is used to protect data. Other parameters are slightly different.

    In IMAP, you need to use port 993 for incoming messages, and 465 for outgoing messages. In POP3, 995 and 465, respectively. imap.yandex.ru, pop.yandex.ru are server addresses for incoming correspondence for IMAP and POP3, respectively.

    Setting example

    For clarity, I will show the setting using the example of Microsoft Outlook, which is quite easy to use. Is it already installed on your computer?

    First, open Outlook and click “file”.

    Click on the “add account” button and look at the following screenshot.

    Select manual setting.

    We choose to work with already familiar protocols.

    At this stage, enter the parameters described above. As you can see, setting up Outlook is quite quick and easy.

    Setting up mobile devices

    Owners of mobile devices are very lucky. Usually you don’t need to do anything special. On Android phones and tablets, I often see pre-installed email applications that are almost ready to use. Unless you need to enter your credentials (login, password) so that the mail client can access your email inbox with correspondence.

    If you still want to go into detailed settings, then for IMAP the same 993 and 465 ports that I mentioned earlier are used. The connection servers are the same. The only thing that can be displayed for a secure connection is SSL/TLS.

    Do you have something to add or haven't found the information you need? Let us know in the comments. Perhaps your information will be useful to other users, or I may add information that interests you in the future.

    Useful opportunities for business people

    A huge number of people use email programs on their computers and mobile devices. Do you know how they are used by people who make money on the Internet? I won’t describe absolutely everything, I’ll just briefly talk about the common possibilities. For work purposes, email applications can be useful for the following purposes:

    • Simultaneous work with work and personal email accounts;
    • Prompt correspondence with customers;
    • Using shared files by using Ya.Disk capabilities together with mail.

    Do you already know how to work and get money online? To do this, you don’t have to be a professional designer or programmer. Are you actively interested in, for example, the possibilities of social networks? If so, there may be a job for you too. The main thing is to be able to do it. There are cool training programs where you can find something interesting for yourself. You can look here.

    This concludes the article. I hope that I clearly explained how you can configure Yandex mail on various devices. You might also be interested in how to use email clients. Subscribe to updates in the form below or follow them on social networks, I will be glad to see you.

    When the installation process is complete, a corresponding shortcut will appear on the desktop, opening the program. Log in by entering your email username and password. Before viewing incoming correspondence, it is recommended that you carefully read the information posted in the invitation to Yandex Mail. The Go to Mail button will open a folder called Inbox. It contains all messages addressed to you.

    Configuration via protocols

    POP3 and IMAP interfaces provide the ability to receive mail on Android in one application from several mailboxes. Each of these protocols has its own characteristics.

    • POP3 allows you to receive copies of letters on your phone. Their editing will be reflected only in the phone. In a real mailbox they will be in their original form.
    • Thanks to IMAP, you can edit correspondence in your email inbox directly from your phone.

    To configure Yandex Mail using protocols, you need to install one of the applications:

    For incoming mail server

    For outgoing mail server

    The setup procedure is completed by clicking on the “Next” button. From now on, Yandex Mail will start working, delivering and sending letters. If you need to set up an additional mailbox, perform all the above steps again, specifying its username and password.

    Many mobile devices of the latest generations already have an application built into the shell for working with mail servers. For such phones you do not need to download any additional programs. All you need to do is select the protocol and configure it.

    Do you use the Yandex mail service and have purchased an Android smartphone? Then you will definitely enjoy having access to mail from your device. For this, various email programs are used, both original and third-party. Setting up Yandex mail on Android is simple and does not cause any difficulties for owners of smartphones and tablets. Let's see which programs you can use to access your mailbox.

    Yandex Mail via browser

    The easiest way to access your mail is to use a browser and open the Yandex mail interface. Next, enter the login and password for your mailbox, click on the login button and find yourself in a pleasant and convenient web interface. But on the screen of a mobile device it may not be so convenient.

    Here are the disadvantages of this method of organizing access to mail:

    Nevertheless, many users continue to use the web interface without knowing that other tools are available. Therefore, we decided to talk about them in our review.

    Yandex.Mail application

    Yandex provides its users not only with an email service, but also with convenient tools for working with mailboxes. Such a tool is the Yandex.Mail application, located in the Play Market. Setting up Yandex mail on Android comes down to installing this application and its initial configuration.

    After installing and launching the application, fields for entering your login and password will appear on the screen. We enter the data, wait for the connection to the servers, click on the “Go to Mail” button and go to the main interface of the program. Here you can see outgoing and incoming letters, a folder with drafts, a folder with spam, and also a folder with deleted letters. Sorting elements are available - this is the display of important emails, unread emails and emails with attachments.

    To protect letters from access by unauthorized people, PIN code protection is provided– it is configured in the application settings. Sound notifications can also be configured here (it is possible to set an alert schedule). There is another important item in the settings - adding another mailbox, which is very convenient.

    The application works online, without downloading letters and their subsequent synchronization. Thanks to this, users can work with mail from several devices - for example, having started writing a letter on a computer, you can continue writing on a smartphone or tablet by going to the drafts folder. Notifications about new emails in the application are carried out in real time.

    Third Party Applications

    In order to set up Yandex mail on Android, you can use more universal solutions. Such a solution is the Mail.ru Mail application. It allows you to work with mailboxes from many other mail services. These included the Yandex mail service. Accounts are added both when you first start the application and in the future. There is no need to make any additional settings - just enter your login and password, and the program will do the rest itself.

    A nice addition will be the presence of online checking of new letters, as is implemented in the “native” mail application from the Yandex company.

    The Play Market store offers many other applications for working with Yandex mail. But in this case, you will have to enter manual settings into them - the addresses of POP3, SMTP and IMAP servers are indicated here, the necessary ports are set, logins and passwords are registered. For an untrained user, this may seem complicated, so we recommend that you use the applications described above - they have excellent functionality and user-friendly interfaces.
