The question is how to speed up the login, I did everything according to the instructions, but everything is the same for me (the initial load is fast, but the system slows down at the entrance to the desktop). Please help and better send further instructions by e-mail ( [email protected]).

Ahill, You need to adjust the startup of the system - see which programs start up with Windows 7 and disable unnecessary ones.

Could you write a list of Windows 7 services that should not be disabled (and why does ALCMTR.exe run it), thanks in advance!

"Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"

When this article was written, only the English beta version of Windows 7 was available. In the Russian version of Windows 7, the phrase "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" is translated as "Require username and password".

UPD: Now all the necessary changes have been made to the article. Screenshots added. Thank you for your comment.

I meant that I don’t have this phrase - “Require username and password” !!!

in addition - version 6.1.7201 is installed

And if several users are installed on the computer, but one person practically uses it. Phrases - "Require username and password" no.

What can be done?

In XP, I set automatic login through various programs

Basil, welcome to Windows 7 - Impressions and Facts!

To reset your password, go to Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Your Account. Click "Change your password". In the "Current password" field, enter the password with which you are now authorized when you start Windows 7. Do not enter anything in the "New password" and "Confirmation" fields and click "Save". On Windows 7, this removes the password, just like it did on XP. No additional software is required.

In addition, Windows 7 introduced the ability to simply remove the login password. Open Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Your Account. Click "Remove your password". Enter the current password and confirm its deletion.

The article has been updated. Thank you!

I still don't have a login password. But when I log in (I work on a working computer and it is connected to the network), a window still appears with my name and the requirement to press the password. And I just have to press a button to login further.

Previously, on XP, I logged in automatically.

1. Parental control disabled? Disable if enabled (wherever enabled).

2. In Services in the Windows 7 Control Panel, find User Profile Service. On the tab Login set "With a system account", without checkmarks (the highest position). Look at other services that affect the login - whether the login is set to "With system account" everywhere. In XP, as I remember, the authorization window instead of the usual "Welcome" appeared after installing NET Framework 2, and after setting up the services, automatic login could be returned.

Please clarify what is "parental control" and how to disable it?

The User Profile Service could not be found on my computer.

Went through "services"

Found everything. Everything is installed correctly, but automatic login does not work at all

Windows 7 boots in 55 seconds, despite the fact that Windows is currently installed, and neither is on it.

Good day, dear Internet users and Denis Trishkin is in touch again.

There are many reasons why users want to set up automatic login. This may be a reduction in system boot time, or simply tired of constantly typing some characters. Experts advise resetting this type of protection against unauthorized access only if the equipment is used by one person and only he. So that the client does not have to constantly enter the code, you need to follow the chain of steps:

That's all. During the next boot, you will no longer need to enter code characters - the desktop will boot on its own.

Alternative ways( )

As in many other areas of Windows, there are other options in this one, because suddenly for some reason you cannot perform the above steps.

Alternatively, you can simply remove this feature:

It involves creating a special disk to reset the code. How to make an appropriate portable device? It's simple:

Now in the future, when the operating system asks you to enter a security code at startup, enter any characters. An error message will appear, as well as the option "", which is what we need. We insert an already prepared portable device where the code erasure algorithm is stored.

After that, a window will open with three fields, two of which will be a new protection and its confirmation, and the third will be a hint. We just leave them empty and that's it. We press next. Now the old protection will be erased, and the new one will not be installed.

If you have forgotten your password and there is no way to recover it, read

Automatic login to Windows 7 without entering a password allows you to immediately boot into your account at the start of the OS, without logging in and without performing other unnecessary actions. When a single account is installed on the computer, activating this option will slightly, but make it easier to use Windows. We will describe 2 login setup methods that are independent of the computer's domain. Windows 7 automatic logon for non-domain computers works just as successfully as Windows 7 automatic logon for computers in a domain.

Step 1. Open the start menu and type "netplwiz".

Step 2 The utility for working with accounts installed on the PC opens. We click on the user for whom we want to put windat on automatic login to Windows 7.

Step 3 Now turn off the function marked in the screenshot below. Save the result - click on the "OK" button.

Step 4 Check the result - restart Windows.

Important! To assign one of the users for automatic login, you need to perform a similar operation with each account separately.

How to enter Windows 7 without a password? Removal and alternative methods

Note! To turn everything back, just check the box back and restart your computer.

If the previous instructions did not help to cope with the problem, try alternative options.

How to set up automatic login in Windows 7 using "control userpasswords2" command

We use this method when Windows does not find anything when searching for the netplwiz utility.

Step 1. In me "Start" we are looking for the command "Run". This is a well-known program for fine-tuning Windows functions, also called the command line.

Note! Administrator rights are required when using the method.

Step 2 We drive "control userpasswords2" into the text field of the "Run" program.

Step 3. We follow similarly to the algorithm considered for "netplwiz".

Step 4 We reboot the system.

How to set up automatic logon in Windows 7 using the "Registry Editor"

Step 1. Again we work with the Run utility: Start -> Run.

Step 2 Type "regedit" into the input field. This is a program for editing the system registry.

Step 3 The registry folders are located on the left side of the window. To expand a folder, double-click on it, or click on the "+". Open the directory "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE".

Step 4 Open the SOFTWARE folder.

Step 5 In it we are looking for the “Microsoft” folder, and in it there is already “Windows NT”.

Step 6 There is only one folder "CurrentVersion".

Step 7 We find the folder "Winlogon", in the right part of the window we configure the parameters in the files.

  • in the “DefaultUserName” paragraph, write the name of your account;

  • edit "AutoAdminLogon": change the line "Value" to the number 1;

  • “DefaultPassword” setting: fill in the “Value” line with your password.

Important! If there is no DefaultPassword file in the Winlogon folder, create it.

Create a parameter « DefaultPassword »

For this:

Automatic loading will now occur when the computer is joined to a domain. Even if it is turned off, the settings will work too.

About Windows operating systems

The Windows family of operating systems have been consistently popular for two decades. Microsoft has monopolized the market by releasing easy-to-use operating systems. We will look at the most successful releases of Windows: we will talk about the features and disadvantages of each operating system.

Why choose Windows?

Many people know about the cons of the OS:

  • viruses. For example, in systems of the Unix (Linux) family, it is impossible to infect a computer with viruses. All executable files can only be run by the user, only by his own hand and only by entering a command into the command line. With Windows, the story is quite the opposite. Malicious programs without your actions can change and delete files, steal passwords and bank card data;
  • optimization. With the release of version 10 of the OS, the problem is partially solved. But Windows is still a hardware-demanding system. Moreover, RAM, processor and video card work inefficiently. Applications running in the background can take up extra memory, slowing down your computer. Constant sagging, departures are a characteristic feature of the Microsoft product.

But what attracts users when choosing Windows as the main program of their computer:

  • programs. Most of the standard types of programs (video players, music players, browsers, text editors) have been around for a long time on Linux. For a simple user, Linux can be a great alternative: a large package of office and multimedia programs, rare freezes, no viruses. But many categories of professionals use software that is released only under Windows. For designers - Photoshop, for fashion designers - 3DS Max, for accountants - 1C. There are analogues for some programs, but they cannot replace the old proven and, what is important, multifunctional software;
  • games. The gaming industry is geared towards Windows. With DirectX and Nvidia PhysX used in development, Windows remains the most up-to-date system. Recently, publishers have released a multi-platform product that supports Linux and even Mac. But high-budget projects run exclusively on Microsoft systems.

Characteristics of the most popular Windows operating systems

Windows XP

If you are the owner of a weak computer (less than 2 GB of RAM, 2 core processes, 512 MB video card), then XP is the best option for installation. The system is simple, supporting any office programs. It was deservedly considered the best OS for 8 years, until the release of the "seven". The only negative is that not all modern games will run on XP. The second drawback is the lack of updates from Microsoft, which makes the system less secure. However, new antiviruses that are able to recognize the latest released viruses and update the malware databases daily solve this problem.

Pros of Windows XP:

  • high speed of work;
  • takes up little disk space after installation;
  • simple interface that does not load the system.

Cons of Windows XP:

  • lack of updates;
  • does not support modern games and "heavy" software, such as modeling programs, the latest versions of Photoshop.

Windows Vista

Unsuccessful attempt to make the system beautiful. With the visual component of Vista, everything is in order. And with security and optimization - problems. Vista requires powerful hardware, is poorly configured to the needs of the user, and is rarely installed on a PC.

Windows 7

If you want to know more about the computer, you can read an article about it in our new article.

Release date - 2009. Took the best practices from XP and visual style from Vista. For a long time it remained the favorite system of most users. Huge selection of themes, customization of all parameters, excellent optimization. The OS is lightweight, rarely crashes and has a simple interface. It does not have complex, intricate functions like in the same Windows 10. By default, a basic software package is installed that is easy to get rid of.

Pros of Windows 7:

  • installed on old and office computers. Works without problems, programs do not hang, you can even play new, hardware-demanding games;
  • nice interface. Aero was introduced in Vista, but was very system resource intensive, making it difficult to work comfortably at the computer. In Windows 7, the interface is better optimized;
  • performance. The system responds more readily to clicks, text input, even when busy. Programs turn on and run smoothly, without failures.

Cons of Windows 7:

  • no official updates. Antiviruses will have to look for holes in the security system;
  • takes up a lot of hard disk space. Not suitable for budget laptops and netbooks.

Windows 10

Microsoft's latest system, combining developments from Windows 7 and the failed Windows 8. The Metro interface, which users did not like, was partially integrated into the top ten. Windows 10 is the fastest and most reliable system in the family. Regular updates, support for the latest versions of popular programs, powerful game optimization are the main qualities of the OS.

Pros of Windows 10:

  • the return of the classic start menu. The decision to make a tiled interface killed the potential of Windows 8. "Ten" retained some of the features of its predecessor, in particular the graphical shell and "flat" style;
  • creating multiple desktops. An extremely useful feature for owners of two or more monitors;
  • multiplatform. The system works not only on personal computers. You can install Windows 10 on your smartphone, tablet, and even Xbox.

Cons of Windows 10:

  • privacy. By default, Windows collects data about applications that have been opened, keys pressed, and sites visited;
  • iron requirements. Windows 10 is not suitable for weak computers.

Video - Automatically sign in to Windows

In some situations, it becomes necessary to enable automatic login, which stops working in cases where there are more than 1 users on the system or it has a password set.

Introduction

The user selection screen in Windows 7 can be displayed in several ways:

  • At login, if automatic login is not configured
  • When the system is locked or the user is changed
  • When exiting sleep or hibernation, or exiting the screensaver

About automatic login

Automatic login without entering a password is convenient if you are the only user of the computer, or if you use a particular account much more often than others. When configuring automatic logon, you need to understand that anyone who turns on the computer will freely log in and gain access to all files and settings of the account used. The automatic logon setting differs depending on whether the computer is joined to a domain.

The necessary conditions

If the system has only one active account without a password, it automatically logs you in, so no additional configuration is required. If you have multiple accounts, automatic login needs to be configured, even if none of them has a password. Additional "service" accounts can be added to the system when installing various software.

Administrator rights are required to set up automatic login. The setup process is almost the same as the setup in Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Computers not in a domain

For non-domain computers (for example, home computers), you can configure automatic logon in the graphical interface of the operating system.

  • Press keyboard shortcut Win+R.
  • netplwiz(does not work on Windows XP) or control userpasswords2
  • Press Enter. The User Account Settings window opens.

Note. If the account does not have a password, leave the field Password empty.

Automatic login setup is complete.

You can also configure automatic logon in the system registry. All required parameters are listed in the table in the next section of the article.

Computers in a domain

For computers that are members of a domain, you must specify the default domain name to automatically log on to. There is no such possibility in the graphical interface of the operating system, so the automatic login is configured in the system registry.

  • Press keyboard shortcut Win+R
  • In the Run window that opens, enter: regedit and press Enter. The Registry Editor will open.
  • Go to section: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion Winlogon
  • Adjust the registry settings according to the table. If the parameter does not exist, it must be created.

Automatic login options

Note. The first three options in the table can be used to configure automatic logon on non-domain computers.

User selection during automatic login

If you have auto-login enabled but need to log in with a different account, press and hold Shift when starting Windows. Or click Logout/Change user in the shutdown menu and hold the key Shift.

A string parameter (REG_SZ) can also affect the change of users during automatic login ForceAutoLogon in the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.

The parameter can take values 1 (on) and 0 (switched off). Its purpose is to ensure that the user is always logged into the system if automatic login is configured and the computer is turned on. In fact, enabling this setting prevents the user from logging out - after the session ends, the login is immediately performed automatically. This behavior is intended for computers running in kiosk mode in a public place (such as a library). You can bypass it only by holding down the key Shift when the session ends.

Require password when waking up from sleep or hibernation

When the computer goes to sleep or hibernation after a period of inactivity, Windows 7 prompts for a password when it resumes, providing additional data protection. This request can be disabled.

Open Power supply in the control panel, in the upper left corner, click Require password on wake up

At the bottom of the Power Options window, first click Change currently unavailable options, and then set up a password prompt.

Notice the User Account Control (UAC) shield next to the link. Administrator rights are required to change these settings. However, you will only be prompted to confirm the action if you are running as a standard user. Administrator rights will be elevated without prompting.

Require password when exiting screensaver

The screen saver can be used as one of the means to protect your data from unauthorized access if you have configured to require a password when exiting the screen saver. In Windows 7, as in previous NT systems, this setting is called . After a period of inactivity, the screensaver turns on, and when you exit it, you are asked for a password if your account is protected by it.

Right-click on the desktop and select from the menu Personalization. The control panel window will open. In the lower right corner of the window, click Screensaver. The Screen Saver Options window opens. Uncheck Start at login screen if you don't want to enter a password when exiting the splash screen.

This article will discuss how to set up autologin (automatic login without entering a password) on Windows operating systems. This is useful when there is no need to restrict access to a computer / laptop so as not to waste time entering a password every time it is turned on.

One of the easiest ways, using standard Windows tools, is to use the command control userpasswords2. This is done as follows:

Click Start - Run (or Win + R keys), and in the window that appears, enter control userpasswords2 , then click OK.

In the window that appears, uncheck "Require username and password" and click OK.

In the window that appears, you will be asked to enter a username and password.

After entering, you can click OK. Now, when you turn on the computer, you will automatically log in under the user you need.

Using Autologon

Another easy method to set up automatic login to the system is to use the third party program Autologon by Mark Russinovich. You can download it from the Microsoft website.

Using the program is as simple as possible - you need to run the downloaded program (no installation is required, but you will have to accept the terms of use the first time you start it), and enter all the data you need.

In field username you should write the username, if the user belongs to the Active Directory domain, then you should specify his name in the field domain. And finally in the field Password you must enter your password. After that, to turn on, you just need to press the button " enable", and after that, auto-login will be configured.

The utility saves the password in the registry in encrypted form, so you won't be able to see it in the registry after installing autologin.

Setting through the registry

There is also a way to set up automatic login through the registry.

To enable autologin in the registry, you need to open the Start menu, and select the Run command (or press the Win + R key combination). In the window that appears, type regedit and click OK.

Hint: to change the value of any parameter, just double-click on it, or right-click and select " Change".

AutoAdminLogon - We put one, otherwise the automatic login will not work.
ForceAutoLogon - If we want the user to be "forcibly" logged back into the system, then we set one.
DefaultUserName - The username under which we want to automatically log in.
DefaultPassword - The password of the user under which we want to automatically log in to the system. Most likely this parameter will be missing, and therefore you will have to create it yourself. To do this, right-click on an empty space and select New - String Value, and give it a name DefaultPassword.

DefaultDomainName - The user domain under which we want to automatically log in. If the domain is not in use, leave it blank.

Now you can close the Registry Editor and try restarting your computer. If you did everything correctly, then immediately after loading the operating system, you will be automatically logged into the system under the desired user.
