Over the past few days, many new gadgets have been demonstrated, from miniature chips to powerful gaming systems. This selection includes the best new monitors at CES 2017. Dell Ultrathin Monitor S2718D is the world's thinnest monitor, according to the manufacturer. But since the representatives of Dell did not announce the exact thickness value, and they did not put a caliper for measurements on the exhibition stand, we will miss this epithet until it is confirmed. Dell S2718D is a 27-inch screen with very narrow (about 5 mm) bezels around the matrix and about the same thickness. In its main part there is nothing but the LCD panel itself: all other electronics are placed in a stand.
It is based on an IPS matrix with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The picture refresh rate is 60 Hz, and the pixel response time is 6 ms. Also, the matrix has a maximum viewing angles and brightness of 400 nits. It is capable of capturing 99% of the sRGB colors. These parameters indicate that the Dell S2718D is a stylish display for home / office use.
To connect to a PC, the screen has a standard HDMI, and to output sound from it to the speakers, a standard 3.5 mm jack is provided. However, the second main feature of the display is the universal USB Type C port. It is designed to display pictures from a modern laptop. In addition, there is a Power Delivery function with power up to 45W and 2 USB 3.0 ports. This means that if you connect the same Apple MacBook 12 ″ (which has only a USB Type C port) to the display, it will be recharged without losing the ability to connect devices via USB. 
The Dell S2718D release date is scheduled for March 2017. In which countries it is planned to sell the new monitor is still unknown. However, there is evidence that the price of Dell S2718D will be about $ 700.
Dell UP3218K - Clearest Monitor at CES 2017
Another novelty that the Americans decided to please is the Dell UP3218K - a high-definition monitor equipped with a 32-inch matrix with a resolution of 8K 7680x4320 pixels. The pixel density on it reaches 280 PPI, which is comparable to a 5.5-inch smartphone with HD-resolution (for example, Samsung Galaxy J7 2016). The matrix is created using IPS technology, its manufacturer is Sharp. It is capable of reproducing 100% sRGB and Adobe RGB tones, has a 1300: 1 contrast ratio, 400 nits brightness and is framed with a frame less than a centimeter thick. The image refresh rate is standard 60 Hz. 
The current versions of the HDMI standard do not support this high resolution, which is why the Dell UP3218K is equipped with a DisplayPort (DP) interface. It has two such connectors for connecting to picture sources. There are also 4 USB 3.0 ports and a headphone or speaker jack.
The Dell UP3218K release date is scheduled for March 23rd. On this day, it should appear in the company's online stores. The price of the Dell UP3218K is quite impressive. Against its background, even the previous "frameless" screen will seem cheap, because the new product will ask for as much as 5 thousand dollars!
Samsung CH711 - Curved Quantum Dot Monitors
The Koreans from Samsung, famous for their OLED technologies, decided to surprise by presenting Samsung CH711 gaming monitors, created using quantum dots. The latter, in short, are nanocrystals capable of emitting visible light when a current is passed. In monitors, they are used to create backlighting, providing more uniform light flooding to the matrix than traditional diode tubes. Samsung CH711 is created in 2 versions, with diagonals of 27 and 32 inches. The rest of the modifications are identical. 
Both screens feature 1800R curved panels with a standard aspect ratio of 16: 9 and a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Like IPS, "quantum" matrices have maximum viewing angles. New backlight technology improves color purity by expanding the supported hue range to 125% of the sRGB gamut. The response time of the matrix is only 4 ms, and the refresh rate of the picture is 60 Hz.
Other characteristics of the new monitors have not yet been published. But it is known that the release date of Samsung CH711 is scheduled for March. European prices for new items have also been announced. The 27-inch model is expected to cost 530 euros. For Samsung CH711 with a matrix of 32 ″ will ask for 620 European currency units.
HP Omen X 35 Curved Ultra-Wide Gaming Monitor
HP is bringing a new curved gaming monitor to Las Vegas in an ultra-wide format. The HP Omen X 35 is a 35-inch display with a 21: 9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 3440x1440 pixels. The proprietary chip of the display, emphasizing the gaming focus, is the Nvidia G-Sync technology. Acer also brought some interesting products to CES 2017. The first of them is the Acer Predator Z301CT gaming display, built on an ultra-widescreen matrix. It is notable for its support for Tobii eye tracking technology. This is the first monitor of its kind. A set of infrared sensors track eye movements, allowing a person to interact with a computer in games and programs. The Acer Predator Z301CT sensor has a 1800R radius bend. Its diagonal is 30 inches, the aspect ratio is 21: 9, and the resolution is 2560x1080 pixels. 
Among other parameters, the Acer Predator Z301CT stands out with a contrast ratio of 3000: 1 and a color gamut of 100% of the sRGB spectrum.
