Vpn service for android. Free VPN Services for Android

Cheetah Mobile is a leading mobile software development company in China and at the same time one of the most popular mobile Internet providers, which has become famous throughout Google Play for the abundance of programs in the name of which often have the abbreviation "CM" and today's candidate in the face of an Android application is no exception from the general rules and represents a convenient platform for comfortable use of VPN technology without the need for preliminary configuration.

Free app CM Security VPN is free.

VPN instantly stands out from the competitive offers thanks to its beautiful interface and an abundance of interesting features. For the daily entrance to the program, a certain number of points are awarded, which, thank God, are not used to connect to the servers, but to donate for the development of new functions that will be added in future updates of the program. By clicking on the icon with the magic wand, you can see the functions that the developers are going to implement, but they will do this only when the indicator shows 100%. The list of servers itself pleased me with a variety of locations, but the main "trick" for which you should definitely install this program is the absence of any restrictions on Bittorrent and P2P networks.

This means that absolutely any user can download anything and as much from torrents as they want, without fear of getting banned on the server. After a successful connection, a special widget appears in the notification panel that allows you to instantly disconnect from the server, without having to open the main program. Also, the developers did not forget to build a speed and safety test, so it will be much easier to test the real speed. Also, the program has a built-in function for choosing the optimal server based on your current location, but manual selection is also available without restrictions. A final noteworthy feature is auto-connect. The program will monitor the applications that you launch, and if one that has been added to a special list comes across among them, it will automatically connect to VPN servers.

Thus, if you use some kind of game or program that blocks users by location, then you don't have to manually start the VPN every time.

In the settings, you can enable the permanent display of the widget in the notification panel, as well as configure auto-connection. To summarize: the android application has already defeated most of its competitors only by allowing the use of P2P technologies.

The VPN Master mobile application for Android is an indispensable program for protecting against data hacking and access to closed web pages. Also, the program is suitable for those who want to bypass the locks. The utility is suitable for those who wish to view sites prohibited in this area or remain anonymous on the private network. The program is available for all Android devices version 4.0 and later. To download VPN Master for free, you just need to visit our web portal and download the apk application from the link.

How does VPN Master work?

To visit Internet resources anonymously or open access to sites, you do not need to register or provide personal data. You just need to download the program for free, open it, and select the desired site. You will then be able to browse the web from all over the world automatically, wherever you are in the world. If necessary, you can choose the country of the server yourself using the program settings. The free VPN Master app offers its users 200 MB of bandwidth, but you can increase this figure by rating the app or by installing the recommended programs. To activate unlimited access via VPN Master, you need to purchase the full version of the product. The way the app works is pretty simple. The program is capable of creating a secure connection channel on your mobile device, which allows you to view sites that are prohibited in your country. As far as the connection speed is concerned, it is practically the same as the speed of your Internet traffic. In its work, VPN Master uses various proxy servers to bypass the blocking of sites or applications and hide the user's IP. To do this, the program uses the OpenVPN protocols in its work, which operate in all types of wireless networks.

Features of the VPN Master program

  1. High speed data transfer.
  2. Bypass censorship, filters and other restrictions.
  3. The ability to bypass Wi-Fi networks at school and at work.
  4. Bypassing restrictions in certain countries and regions.
  5. Large selection of servers in Europe, Asia and the USA.
  6. There is no need to register, log in using your username and password.
  7. Confidentiality of virtual information and ensuring personal safety on the Internet.

VPN Master for Android has a simple and intuitive interface. Only the most necessary and a minimum of basic functions will allow even those who have never used anonymizers before to understand the application. To work with the utility, you need to select the desired program or web page, as well as determine the server country. When working with a VPN, it is recommended to take into account the time difference, because the application displays the time zone of the server country. To install VPN Wizard, just download the apk program, and then open it through

For some reason, I have heard the opinion more than once that there are no normal free VPN services, they say, how can you keep a server and still not earn anything. In fact, this is not the case. Any free service has a paid version and many people use them. This allows developers to pay for servers and also make good money.

The functionality and free programs will be enough for a simple user. Yes, there will be a limited number of selectable countries that can be used with IP addresses or monthly traffic, but this will be enough to keep you safe from many forms of attacks or bypass blocking sites.

Many people prefer to pay to have no restrictions, and thanks to this, developers develop and support free versions. And it is in this article that we will talk about them.

I want to point out something. To test the speed, I used the Speedtest app. You should understand that the services presented in the review have different countries with servers, so for each I indicated exactly where my traffic was being redirected.

Tunnelbear VPN

To work with Tunnelbear, you need to create an account. After registering, you will receive 500 MB for a month for free. You can also tweet information about the service and get another 1 GB of traffic. That is, every month 1.5 GB is free.

The choice of the country is very funny. On the map, you click on the desired region, after which the bear "breaks" the path to the country with the server and your traffic begins to pass through it. All this happens with beautiful animation and is accompanied by the roar of the beast. All in all, the developers were really creative about creating the app.

Available countries: USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Norway, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

With the Tunnelbear VPN turned on, I logged into the Netflix website normally, and the IP address services showed that I was in Canada. As for the tests: ping - 232 ms, incoming traffic speed - 3.52 Mbps, and outgoing traffic - 13.26 Mbps. A normal indicator, you can even watch movies online quite comfortably.

As such, Tunnelbear has no settings for Android. You can only turn off the growl of the bear. Overall, this is an easy-to-use popular VPN for Android that is a pleasure to use.

ZenMate Security & Privacy VPN

I've been using the Zenmate extension for my favorite Firefox browser for over a year now. The same is true for Chrome, Opera, and Safari. There are a lot of fans of such solutions: you must admit that it is much more convenient to turn on the VPN at the right time right from the browser in a couple of mouse clicks instead of using a separate program. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that Zenmate has a mobile version as well.

To use the program, you will have to create an account. From countries in the free version, Romania, Germany, Hong Kong or the USA are available. At the same time, the amount of traffic passing through Zenmate is not limited, but the speed is cut (although tests have shown that it is already decent). In the paid version, the speed is higher and the number of countries is larger.

Protection is activated by pressing the huge button in the center. There are also few settings and they are of little interest. Really useful ones, like increased protection against malware, are only available in the paid version (though I personally haven't tested it).

Speedtest showed excellent results: ping - 280 ms, receiving - 14.41 Mbps, transmission - 14.56 Mbps. I connected to the American server without any problems and went to Netflix, everything worked fine.

Zenmate is good: unlimited traffic, most of the main servers are available for free, high speed of receiving and transferring data. I definitely recommend it.

Hideninja. No, now Supernet

While trying to use VPN from Hideninja, a banner appeared informing that the application is now only available with a premium account, and the new Supernet application has replaced the free version.

Let's not dwell on it for a long time. Only 2 countries are available: USA and UK, no settings and only an unobtrusive offer to support the project by installing some kind of sponsored applications.

I did not connect to the American server, English worked more or less. According to tests, a good result: ping - 113 ms, receiving - 2.36 Mbps, transmission - 5.99 Mbps. I went to Netflix, everything worked. Sites like MyIP have identified that I am in the UK.

Obviously not the most interesting option in our selection, let's move on.

Supernet: VPN Free Fast, Proxy on Google Play

Very cool VPN for Android with quite a few available servers in different countries and cities. Free version available: Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and Ukraine. Hideman has multiple servers in many of these countries. In addition, by connecting to the server, you can also select an available IP address.

By purchasing a monthly or annual subscription, the list of servers will expand significantly. The time limit will also disappear. In the free version, 7 hours are available weekly and you can get additional ones by installing partner applications or watching ads.

Hideman has a fairly extensive list of options, I recommend that you look there too. Each setting has a description below that explains what it does.

I connected to a Canadian server and ran Speedtest: ping 248ms, incoming traffic 3.68 Mbps, outgoing traffic 2.14 Mbps. When I used Dutch, I received a ping of 76 ms, the receiving speed was 10.94 Mbps, and the transmission speed was 10.08 Mbps.

Hideman is a solid service that offers quality VPN services and encrypts data transmitted on the network using 256-bit encryption! Definitely one of the best of its kind. Highly recommend.

Rocket VPN - Free Proxy Shield

The developers of this service are Liquidum. By the way, we reviewed their cool applications: and. Yes, and Rocket VPN is pretty good too.

On the main page, you can select a server. Rocket has them in the following countries: Czech Republic, Holland, Sweden, Great Britain, USA, Japan and Singapore.

Free 500 MB of traffic is available to you monthly, there are no other restrictions. There are also no settings. But there is an advertisement that opens every 20 seconds. How long will you use that app though? I went in - turned it on, when needed - turned it off. In general, advertising in this application is not annoying.

I tested the American Rocket VPN server, the results are as follows: ping - 245 ms, receive - 2.95 Mbps, transmit - 4.56 Mbps.

If it were not for such a strict restriction of free traffic, then there would be no complaints about Rocket VPN at all. And so just move on.

Rocket VPN - Free Proxy Shield on Google Play

In many ways, a cool service, but with one significant drawback - the choice of the country works only in the premium version. But if you need a VPN just to stay safe by connecting to unknown access points, then you won't find a better option.

Also, using Hotspot Shield, you can activate protection when launching certain applications. The traffic is not limited, there are simple settings. I did not test the speed, since it did not differ much from that without using a VPN (after all, the server is located in my country). Advertising is present, and you can enable Hotspot Shield directly from the notification curtain. Really convenient.

It is a pity, of course, that you cannot use the servers of other countries and here advertising is already slightly annoying, but there are many other positive aspects. As I said, if you are interested in a VPN service primarily to provide protection, then you should take a look at Hotspot Shield VPN.

Hotspot Shield VPN on Google Play

A very cool solution with 500 MB of monthly traffic that can be expanded by installing partner applications. There are about 30 servers in Canada, USA, UK, France, Singapore and the Netherlands. If you want to buy a premium, you will get about 15 more servers marked "Turbo" (if I understand correctly, their connection speed is higher).

In the settings, you can choose for which applications you need to enable VPN, and for which not, you can display a widget that will show how much traffic each application uses. The curtain also displays information about the speed of incoming and outgoing traffic.

For the test, I used an American VPN. Speedtest showed such an interesting result: ping - 293 ms, receiving speed - 4.52 Mbps, transmission speed - 28 Mbps.

Honestly, for the first time while testing free VPNs, I even wanted to purchase a paid subscription. The VPN Master premium account is relatively cheap, the VPN is fast enough, the service encodes data using the OpenVPN protocols, there are many servers and the functionality itself is very pleasing.

In the free version, only 500 MB of available traffic is upsetting, and you can not increase it as much as, for example, Tunnelbear. But still, the service is decent, I definitely recommend it.

SuperVPN Free VPN Client

The free version of SuperVPN is packed with ads, but it works pretty well. You can continuously use the application for 20 days after the first launch, and after this period, for 60 minutes each session.

SuperVPN servers are located in France, Canada, USA and Germany, Japan and England are available in the premium version. In addition to the VPN on / off button and the choice of the server country, in fact, there is nothing: no settings, no other options.

Having tested the connection speed in Speedtest, we can say that according to this indicator, SuperVPN has a very good VPN service on Android. The results are below.

Summing up, we can say that if you are not put off by the abundance of ads in the application, then SuperVPN is quite possible to use.

Hola Free VPN

Hola doesn't work quite normally. On the main screen, you select one of the popular or installed applications on your device, go to it, select the server country and then a VPN is activated for it.

But the coolest thing is that there is just a huge number of countries available, traffic is not limited, there is no advertising, no one asks to buy a premium, and it all works quickly and is absolutely free!

Unfortunately, I could not test the speed in Speedtest, VPN in this application for some reason did not work. But I was able to open Netflix and similar foreign sites without problems, and online services for determining IP showed that I was in the United States.

Here it seems to be the first truly completely free VPN on Android: no restrictions, no ads, no eternal offers to install a paid version. The desktop free version of Hola has traffic restrictions, and who wants to get rid of them, a paid subscription is available. But on Android, there are no restrictions at all. Yes, you can download Hola Premium on Google Play, but at first I didn't understand what the difference is from the free version.

But it turned out that not everything is so simple. Later I decided to google it and figured out the real reason why Hola is free. The fact is that the specialists discovered that Hola was selling user traffic. This was followed by an official statement from the developers, in which they justified themselves, referring to the fact that they were not the only ones making money on this. According to them, they only pass traffic through user devices in the background when those devices are not in use. It turns out 6 MB per day - it's like 15 seconds of playing a video on YouTube. And if this is too much for you to pay for full free unlimited, then switch to a paid account.

As a result, the situation is ambiguous. It is not known which clients Hola sells our traffic to, although they claim that they have extremely strict moderation and only trusted clients. But, on the other hand, the huge number of servers, the lack of advertising and unlimited traffic are very captivating. Therefore, I still recommend the Hola service and have left its app on my smartphone for now.

VyprVPN Free Secure VPN

To use VyprVPN, you need to create an account. After that, a link will be sent to the mail, by clicking on which you will activate your account. After that, log in to the application and you can start using it.

Every month you are given 500 MB for free, which is quite small. But this can be fixed by inviting friends, thereby increasing this limit to 2 GB. In all other respects, this is one of the most advanced VPN services out there. There are a huge number of servers in dozens of countries around the world, the application encrypts data using the OpenVPN protocols and personally developed by Chameleon, and also encrypts it using 256-bit encryption. Experienced users will love these features and the many other options available.

The main screen displays the country of the used server, a graph of the current speed and logs. You can navigate between these three tabs using swipes. You can also configure VPN for individual applications, add trusted networks, and choose when to enable VPN.

The speed test showed a very good result. I used an American server for this. Netflix also worked without issue.

VyprVPN is a decent app that I would love to use in the paid version. I definitely recommend giving it a try.

SurfEasy VPN: Proxy Server

A very simple VPN service for Android smartphones and tablets. True, you need to create an account to use it. Available countries are Australia, Brazil, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada, Netherlands, USA, Norway, Singapore, France and Japan.

Every month you have access to free 500 MB of traffic, which can be increased by inviting friends, installing partner applications, etc. And there is no advertising itself. There are also no settings, the bottom shows how many megabytes you have used.

In Speedtest, the indicators are as follows: ping - 235 ms, receive - 3.31 Mbps, and transmission - 20.20 Mbps. I can't say anything bad about SurfEasy, but I won't recommend it either.

Lately, a lot of VPN apps have appeared on Google Play. And no wonder - with the current situation on the Web. One site will fall victim to Roskomnadzor, then another. WhatsApp was recently blocked in Brazil, and not only the popularity of its competitors has jumped, but interest in various VPN services has grown. So we decided to see what services on Google Play are generally related to bypassing locks and changing jurisdictions.

Introduction

On Google Play, all the applications that we will consider are marked as free, but this should not be misleading - in practice, either a "free" VPN is given for a period, or its functionality is somehow limited (for example, the ability to connect only to specific ports). However, this is often enough for users who only need to “bypass the site blocking”.

Let's take a look at the review criteria. We will compare the following characteristics:

  • ease of use (everything is trite here - how many actions you need to take to connect to a VPN);
  • supported encryption algorithms;
  • principle of operation;
  • connection speed and stability;
  • Payment Methods;
  • traffic exit points.

This service provides VPN with exit points in France, Canada, USA, Germany, Japan and England (the latter two are paid only). It's very easy to use: install the application, press the big round button ... that's it! You don't even need to register. The trial period is 20 days, then continuous access will be only for an hour with the possibility of reconnection. Who provides this VPN is unknown - the application does not have a website. There is also no agreement with the user.

You can select a country and no more advanced settings are offered. For ordinary users, of course, this is not really necessary - it is important for them that the VPN just works, without any dancing with a tambourine. Nevertheless, it was possible to provide at least the ability to choose a port.

Inside, this is the most ordinary StrongSwan. Profile data is generated server-side based on device information (such as Android ID and IMSI) and is transmitted unhashed with potential consequences.

There are practically no exit point addresses in any of the black lists - the exception is an address in Germany that is included in one of the spam lists. The connection speed is surprisingly very decent - however, perhaps the point is in the trial period, and after its expiration the speed will drop to a minimum. VPN costs $ 5 a month. Payment methods are Google Wallet and PayPal.

In general, a VPN is good for bypassing simple blocking. You shouldn't use it to register anywhere, because you don't know who owns the VPN servers. The abundance of ads in the free version is annoying - but that's why it is free, and you will only see ads when you connect to the server. If you really want to, you can extend the trial period indefinitely - for this, it is enough to trick over the disassembled bytecode so that instead of system identifiers, the application takes them from somewhere from the file. However, when alternatives are available, this makes little sense.

Here I will try to talk about setting up a VPN on android devices.
Many users have never heard of VPN, and when they saw this item in the phone settings, they just shrugged their shoulders and moved on. If you know what a VPN is, how it works, then most likely this article will not tell you anything new, I wrote it for beginners who want to protect their online security, bypass censorship and regional bans, and maintain their anonymity.
So what exactly is a VPN?
VPN- (English Virtual Private Network - virtual private network) is a generalized name for technologies that allow one or more network connections (logical network) to be provided over another network (for example, the Internet).
PPTP VPN- PPTP (English Point-to-point tunneling protocol) is a point-to-point tunneling protocol that allows a computer to establish a secure connection with a server by creating a special tunnel in a standard, unsecured network. PPTP encapsulates (encapsulates) PPP frames in IP packets for transmission over a global IP network such as the Internet. PPTP can also be used to establish a tunnel between two local area networks. PPTP uses an additional TCP connection to service the tunnel. PPTP traffic can be encrypted using MPPE. Various mechanisms can be used to authenticate clients, the most secure of which are MSCHAP-v2 and EAP-TLS.
My task in this article is not a detailed story about VPN (what it is, how it works, where it came from), you yourself can take information here: ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/VPN
We go directly to the phone settings, I did everything on my Samsung Galaxy GT N-7100 Galaxy Note2, MIUI firmware, android 4.1.1 settings on other devices are similar. To begin with, we need to choose a provider that will provide us with VPN Service, for myself I chose russianproxy.ru, I chose the "Upload" tariff suitable for myself, after payment you will be sent to your personal account and by e-mail your personal settings (login, password, name server) they look like this:
VPN server address: pptp-l2tp-vpn-russia-1.atomintersoft.com
User: v1111-111111
Password: XXXXXXXXXXXX
Access end date: 2013-01-26 00:00:00
Opening the phone settings
-> WIRELESS NETWORKS
-> More ...
-> VPN
-> CONFIGURATION
-> Add VPN network

Next, enter the appropriate data in the fields listed below:
"Network name" - enter any name
"Type" - select PPTP
"VPN server address" - the name of the server for connection (check in the Client Cabinet in the section My subscriptions)
"Enable Encryption (MPPE)" - check the box
Confirm the creation of the connection by clicking the Save button in the lower right corner.
Click on the VPN connection you just created and enter the following details:
"Username" - your subscription login
"Password" - the password of your subscription
"Save credentials" - check the box
Click Connect to establish a connection.
If the connection is successful, the key icon will appear in the upper status bar, by clicking on which you have the following options: view the connection statistics (time, traffic)
disconnect a subscription using the "Disconnect" button

I also want to tell you about several VPN programs that I found in the market.
VpnRoot- play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.did.vpnroot is a conditionally free VPN client, donate via PayPal is required to unblock all functions, unlike a regular VPN in Android, it can reconnect after disconnecting the connection, has a widget with with which you can activate a VPN session in one click on the desktop, while it does not have autorun, the author promised to add in the next versions.
DroidVPN- play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aed.droidvpn requires registration on the program's website to work, after creating a personal account they give 100MB of VPN traffic for a month, then you have to pay, a penny in general, something like 150 rubles for three months, I do not understand users who left negative comments on the program ... There are several VPN servers in different countries to choose from, for some reason I liked more Italian, you can make the servers change randomly every time, your ip will correspond to the country whose server is you have chosen the settings, which makes it easy to bypass regional bans. The program has autorun, can reconnect when the connection is broken.
Orbot: Tor for Android- play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.torproject.android Tor is open source, cross-platform software designed to protect against eavesdropping and ensure the confidentiality of personal and business data transmitted to global network. The product provides complete anonymity for customers when visiting websites, posting materials, sending messages and working with applications using the TCP protocol. Android users have already been provided with the ability to use Tor proxy networks to surf anonymously. Some time ago, a group of researchers from the University of Cambridge released a product called Shadow. The new Orbot app is the official version of the Tor client from the platform's creators.
