Although it should be noted right away that Yandex.String only works starting with Windows 7 and older, respectively, Windows 10 is also supported. Naturally, another mandatory requirement is the presence of a microphone in the computer. It may be noted that this does not offer installation of additional software or changing browser settings. At the end of the installation process, a new item will appear on the taskbar.
Its appearance can be changed in the program settings, for example, by moving it to the right side of the taskbar to the clock or replacing the line with the program icon.
Using "Yandex Line" is quite simple, after installation it is in standby mode. To activate it, there are three options to choose from: click on the microphone icon in the Yandex line, press a combination of hot keys, or say out loud one of the following commands “Listen Yandex”, “Hi Yandex” or “OK Yandex”. If everything is done correctly and the system recognizes the command, then a corresponding window will appear, signaling the readiness of the application to accept further voice commands from the computer user.
Now you can say the desired command. If it is an arbitrary phrase, it will be interpreted as a search query on the Internet and the result will be shown in the default browser using the Yandex search engine. In some cases, the response is displayed directly in the application window without using a browser.
Other commands are executed in a similar way, with the only difference that we first specify the essence of the command, and then the object. In other words, in order to open, let's say, some folder on your computer in Explorer, you must first activate the Line, and then say "Open folder" folder name "".

Thus, not every site can be opened using a voice command, it works well with very popular and well-known resources, and in other cases it is problematic.
A feature of the Yandex.String utility with data stored on a computer is the use of Windows indexing service data to search for them. Accordingly, in the absence of data about a file or folder in the index, it will lead to incorrect search results. Thus, at the moment it cannot be called a full-fledged tool that allows you to control a computer using your voice, although it recognizes the Russian language quite well and copes well with some functions.
Another feature of computer voice control systems, which can scare off some users, is the program's constant listening to the space next to the computer, waiting for the activation command. Accordingly, an unauthorized recording of all user conversations and sending them to a remote server is theoretically possible. Of course, this is already illegal listening, but theoretically possible.
If we discard the total paranoia, then we can recall that some developers of voice control programs quite allowed sending the entered voice phrases of users to their server to further improve speech recognition algorithms. How to set up computer voice control
There are several reasons why users cannot control the computer using regular tools - the keyboard and mouse. Firstly, this may be due to the breakdown of these devices. Windows OS has a regular speech recognition application, but unfortunately, it does not support Russian, but only English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese and Chinese.

Among all the applications for voice control of a Windows computer, Typele stands out in particular. About it and will be discussed further.
Controlling your computer with Type
According to most users who prefer to control their computer with their voice, Typle is one of the best (if not the best).
This small application is able not only to execute the commands available in its database, but also supports the creation of custom ones. It is the latter that is especially appreciated in this application.
The program is distributed free of charge, but the free version has restrictions on creating custom commands. However, these features are quite enough for a regular user.
So, download and install the program. At the first start, the application will ask you to enter some personal data - you can enter any characters in these fields. Then you have to choose a license - choose the first option out of 3 offered (as long as all the inscriptions are in English) and click Next.
After the application collects the information it needs to work, you will see a start window with hints:
Type will ask you to click on the "Add" button. After clicking, you will need to enter your name (enter any) - this is necessary so that the application can execute exactly your commands if you are not the only user of the computer. We also fill in the field "Enter a keyword" (you can leave the proposed option "Open"). It is this word that will be used to run your commands, or rather, this phrase will give the program a signal to execute the command that you will pronounce next.
It remains to press the record button, and then say a phrase (the length of the record should be shorter than 1.5 seconds). To check, you can say "Open". After a successful recording, Type will ask you if you want to save the recorded command.
Next, click on the "Add" button in the top menu. A window will open in which you need to select a program to launch it after pronouncing the keyword into the microphone. For example, let's choose the Opera 35 application (you can choose any of your programs - a browser, a player, or some messenger like Skype).
Pay attention to the bottom of the window. At the moment, the checkbox is set to "Programs and Files". You can also highlight other items. For example, check the box for Windows Files. Now the window for selecting commands to launch will display standard Windows programs (notepad, Paint, command line, and so on), as well as various system applications, such as Update Center or Disk Defragmentation Wizard and others. This is a convenient feature for users who often have to deal with setting up a computer system.
Another interesting feature of Typele is the ability to open selected Internet sites. To do this, you need to check the box "Favorites of the Internet" and select the desired site from the list.
Once you have chosen the appropriate action, you will need to record a command to perform it. To do this, click on the record icon next to the field in which the name of the selected action (program, site, etc.) is written, and then pronounce any phrase. In our case, this is Opera.
After successfully saving the entry, you can check that the command was executed correctly using the Type program. To do this, you need to say the word “Open” into the microphone, and then immediately the phrase that you wrote down at the last step to launch a particular program. In our case, the command sounds like “Open Opera”. After these words, the program will automatically launch the browser.

Then we set a voice command to control the computer or perform a specific action and assign an operation to it (launch the application, go to the specified site). In the window for editing the created commands, it becomes possible to set the parameters with which the application will be launched, and specify the launch mode (full-screen, windowed).
The functionality of the utility is very limited, and the interface is far from the Metro style implemented in Windows 10. It will not be possible to implement full-fledged voice control of a PC using Typle: it only supports opening files, applications (with arguments) and following predefined links. There is even no support for player control (pause, start the next track).
