Apparently, the owners of Get Styles.ru really have nothing to do with it and their resource is being blatantly used by attackers, but maybe not. I wrote to their technical support, no answer, no hello. These are the pies. So be careful with this resource.

Alas, I cannot provide you with a direct link to a project that carries such a danger. Of course, I am not going to blame the site administration and, most likely, they are not guilty of anything. It’s just the fruit of the unscrupulous abuse of outside scoundrels who use knowledge for their own dirty deeds. But I must warn my readers. Perhaps, by the time you read this article, this service will already be white and fluffy; it won’t hurt to check.

Installing a VK theme for Chrome using the Stylish plugin

So you will have to look at another method, which, in my opinion, is safer. Moreover, the methods for downloading themes for different browsers will be slightly different. Installing VK themes in Google Chrome and Firefox occurs in a similar way, since in both cases the Stylish plugin plays the main role. Downloading and installing Stylish occurs as standard, exactly the same as installing other extensions for Google Chrome (on the download web page, click the “Free” button). Installation then occurs instantly. Let's start with a description of installing any of the themes for Contact from the Chrome browser.

The installation of Stylish will be marked by the appearance in the upper right browser window of an icon in the form of the letter “S” on a colored background, symbolizing that the extension is ready for use. A text field will appear in the right half of the extension window where you will need to paste your own code with CSS styles. I suspect that many of the readers cannot boast of such a perfect knowledge of cascading tables to create their own design style, so we will do it easier.

After the failure with Get Style.ru, I spent a long time looking for a resource that could offer a variety of VKontakte themes with ready-made CSS style code and at the same time be safe for users. In the end, my choice settled on Kontaktlife.ru. In terms of choice, there is not everything, of course, but if you wish, you can find enough similar resources on the Internet, the main thing is to very scrupulously follow the safety rules and be sure to check unknown websites with an anti-virus program.

So, go to the website (link above) and click on the desired picture that represents the selected topic for VK, or on the name of the section, and there we look at the options corresponding to this category. After clicking on the image, a new window will open with an enlarged image and the required CSS code below it. Copy the code, go to the window with the Stylish program open and paste the resulting fragment into the text field (remember that we clicked the “Create Style” button):

Be sure to check the box next to the “Enabled” option and enter the name. Now click the “Specify” button to add the address of the page on which this theme for VKontakte will be applied. If you select “URL starting with” from the drop-down list and enter “http://vk.com/” in the line, this will mean that this design will decorate any web page of the VK site.

Then click “Save” on the left side of the Stylish window and, voila, the operation is completed. Next, go to any page of the VKontakte social network and enjoy the updated design. The Stylish icon will display the number “1”, according to the serial number. In the future, you can manage the downloaded styles: disable or completely delete them by going to the same “Settings” section and right-clicking on the icon.

How to install VKontakte themes for Mazila using Stylish

Now let's look at how to download themes for VKontakte if you use Mozilla Firefox as a browser (how to download the latest version of Mazilla Firefox for free) using the same Stylish. You can download the add-on for Mazila from here. Stylish is installed, again, like other plugins for Mozilla Firefox (click on the gray “Download for Windows” button).

After the installation is completed, as in the case of Chrome, an icon will appear in the upper right corner of the browser symbolizing the active plugin, although it differs in appearance and functionality from Google’s. Now open the VKontakte website page (http://vk.com), click on the Stylish icon and select “Find for current site” from the menu:

Well, and finally, let's see how you can install a VK theme for Opera without the help of Stylish, although you can already use this extension. Just like for Explorer, you first need to create a style file with the .css extension and save it on your computer. A description of this operation is given a little higher, so I will not repeat it. Then, if you own one of the latest versions of this browser, select “Tools” - “General Settings” from the top menu.

In the “Advanced” tab in the left list you need to find “Content”. Going to this section, click on the “Customize styles” button. A smaller window will open, where you need to open the “Display Modes” tab. You need to make sure that the checkbox next to the “My style sheet” option is enabled:
