Remove password in Windows 8 account. Disable Microsoft account

But the process is slightly different. And, in my opinion, in Windows 8.1, system protection without a text password is better thought out. The reasons - in the afterword.

Disable Windows 8 login password

Press the key combination Win (Key with the Windows icon) + R. In the window that opens, write "netplwiz", press OK (or Enter)

An alternative is to call the sidebar by moving the cursor on the desktop to the lower right corner. Select "Search" in the sidebar and enter "netplwiz" in the search bar that opens.

User accounts window. Uncheck the box on the requirement to enter a password, click "Apply"

A window will appear in which the fields "Password" and "Confirmation" are left blank. Click OK.

We return to the desktop. Again we turn to the side panel (see point 2), now click on "Settings".

In the side panel of the settings, click on the item "Change computer settings"

Open the "Users" tab, "Change password"

We indicate our current password, after which we do not write anything as a new one. We apply the changes, the system informs that the next time they are launched, they will take effect.

The following inscription will serve as confirmation of the changes:

Disable Windows 8.1 login password

Differences from the previous instructions start only from point 7, so the first 6 points are performed according to the instructions for Windows 8.

While on the desktop, we call the side menu and select the "Settings" option. It contains the item "Changing computer settings".

Click on "Accounts" -> "Login Options". If the password is set, then you will see the following text:

After clicking the "Change" button, you will need to specify your current password, and do not write anything as a new one. Further - "OK".

If everything is done correctly, we again receive a notification that our account has no password.

We reboot. You will be logged in automatically.

Reset forgotten password in Windows 8 / 8.1

Training

First, we need a few things:

  1. Another computer with a USB port.

  2. A clean flash drive of 1 GB or more.

  3. Hiren's Boot CD image (hereinafter referred to as HBCD) (Download, 570 MB)

  4. Universal USB Installer (hereinafter - UUI) (Download, 1 MB)

Video instruction

Text version

Step 1. Prepare a bootable disk / flash drive.

Open the downloaded archive with HBCD, find the image of the Hiren disk "s.BootCD.15.2.iso", transfer it somewhere to your computer.

We insert the USB flash drive. Launch UUI, configure it as in the screenshot (select ISO and the letter of the drive with the flash drive).

Click "Create", in the window that appears, select "Yes".

When the "Close" button becomes active, the flash drive is ready.

Close

Step 2. Password reset.

We insert the drive into a computer on which we do not remember the password.

In the BIOS, we set the boot priority not from the hard disk, but from the flash drive (this step is individual, sinceThe BIOS is different for everyone. But mostly the boot priority is found in sections like “Boot "and"Bootdevicepriority ").

When the bootloader appears, select the item "Mini Windows XP", press Enter.

After loading the desktop, open the HBCD Menu program, in it click "Browse Folder"

In the window that opens, find the disk on which Windows is installed. If it was called "Local Disk" then look for "Local Disk". If it was called differently (Say, "Windows", then look for this name). The goal is to find this disk and remember its letter (C; D; E :, etc.).

Having found the desired letter, close the explorer window.

Return to HBCD Menu again: press Programs -> Passwords / Keys -> Windows Login -> NTPWEdit.

In this program, you need to change the drive letter of the "Path to SAM file" line to the drive letter of the Windows installed. If everything is done correctly, the (Re) open button will become active. If not, then substitute another letter.

Click (Re) open and get a list of users. Select the one we need and click the "Change Password" button.

In the new window, we can either set a different password, or disable it altogether - in this case, leave the password fields blank.

Click "Save changes". Then, in the lower left corner of the screen "Start" -> "Shut Down" -> "Restart".

The computer will reboot, and the USB flash drive can be removed. (Do not forget to re-expose toBIOS priority for booting from the hard disk, although this is not critical).

When you log in, Windows will not ask for a password. Everything is ready. You can leave it as it is, or you can come up with a new password.

Afterword

Despite the large number of points, resetting the password is quick, as long as there is a free computer at hand. And as you can see from this example, whoever needs it will pass such a protection. A password is a good protection from the eyes of colleagues or guests in the house, but I would not recommend hoping that it will save you from all troubles.

Setting up your laptop Didn't expect windows 8.1 to require an administrator password?
If you don’t remember the password, but windows 8.1 requires it, you can reset the password.

Who needs it and why did the password appear

Let's start with the fact that we will determine why there was a password protection for entering the windows operating system.
The actions are clear - they updated windows 8 to windows 8.1, set up Skype and after rebooting you are not allowed into your laptop.
This is because a Microsoft account was created during the installation of an update or customization of windows.
There can be multiple local accounts and do not require a password.
A Microsoft account requires a password.
Therefore, at the end of the article, we will make it so that the password is there, but the operating system does not require it.

Trying to log in without a password

If you have several accounts and have an account without a password, then you can log in through it.
To do this, you need to click on the arrow next to your avatar and go to another account.

(Picture 1)

If you have a password, you will have to go to the next step.

We are trying to remove the local account password by booting from under the BIOS

Our goal is to reset the password without damaging the operating system and user files.

1. Let's start with the BIOS of the laptop, where we will set the boot from the floppy drive or usb flash drive.
1.1. During loading, press F2.
1.2. Go to the boot tab and press F5 and F6 to change the settings.
We have selected boot mode -, and we will select boot mode - Legacy support.

(Figure 2)

Press F5 and get.

(Figure 3)

In the same place at the bottom, in the Boot Device Priority frame, you can configure the boot sequence.

1.3. Press F10, select Yes and save the settings.

2. Create a bootable USB flash drive or disk with password reset software.
2.1. As such a program may be suitable:
- Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0
- Reset windows Password
- Active Password Changer Profeccional.
The advantage of these programs is that they are small and can be downloaded quickly enough.

Do not waste time on the Trial version, something is always unavailable in them.

Using Windows Password Recovery Tool as an example, it is easy to see that you need to select settings and click on record to create a bootable disk or USB flash drive.
2.1.1. After launching the program, click on the button and open all the settings.

(Figure 4)

2.1.2. We select the operating system Windows 8.1., Select the media that we will make bootable and press the button.

(Figure 5)

2.1.3. After the end of the recording, we boot the laptop from the disk - from time to time pressing the spacebar until we see that the program is loading.

We will analyze further actions using the example of Windows 8 PE, starting with step 3.4.
It will take more time to download this file, since it weighs 1GB or more.
This operating system is loaded into RAM and requires more than 4GB of disc or USB flash drive to burn DVD-RW.
The advantages are that by downloading the image in iso format and creating a bootable USB flash drive or disk, we get a ready-made operating system with programs for resetting passwords.

Using Windows PE

For example, let's take the image - Boot_USB_Sergei_Strelec_2014_v.7.2.
In addition to the image, the archive contains instructions and programs necessary for creating a bootable USB flash drive or disk.

3.1. We boot from under the BIOS by pressing the spacebar until the boot from the disk starts.
If the download fails, then we check the BIOS settings, check if the image is unpacked on the disk.

3.2. Click "Start / Reset passwords / Active Password Changer Profeccional"

(Figure 6)

3.4. We scan the system to find operating systems - that is, click "next".

(Figure 7)

3.5. The operating system is found - select it and click "next".

(Figure 8)

3.6. Select the account for which we reset the password (in my case, "Administrator") and click next.

(Figure 9)

3.7. Put a check mark (tick) in front of "Clear user password" and click "Apply changes" and "Finish".

Choose - clear user password

How to make Windows do not require a password

After logging into the laptop operating system, we can already restore access to the Microsoft account by recovering the password.
So that in the future there will be no problems with entering, we will set up automatic authorization.

Let's enter netplwiz into the search and launch the found application.

Launching the accounts window - netplwiz

Good luck. If you have any questions, then ask.

Hello everyone, today I want to tell you how to disable the password in windows 8.1. Yes, there are also such questions from users who, when installing the system, set a password, assuming that this is necessary, but eventually finding out. that it is possible without it, they decided to abandon it, but there may be many options why you want to do this. Earlier, I talked about how to remove the password when entering Windows 10, if you have a dozen, then see if it will be useful. It was especially annoying that it was impossible to disable the password for a microsoft account, but during installation it went as recommended, if you have it and you want to get rid of it, then read how to delete a microsoft account, it will be useful if you have those who do not very, versed in computers, and it is easier for them to enter it, without additional gestures.

In order to disable the windows 8.1 password request, you should press Win + R and in the Run window that opens, enter the following code

control userpasswords2

You will see the User Accounts window, in which we will do our configuration.

I want to note that this window can be opened and by this method, you can click WIN + F this will open the Windows 8.1 search form. Under the search, indicate what you need to search for Everywhere.

In the search form, enter User Accounts, directly in Russian. Honestly, there is no difference, the first method is more universal for Windows 7.

Now, to disable the password, select the account that should not have it and click apply.

You will see a window in which you need to confirm your current password twice, if you entered it correctly, then the next time you boot you will not be prompted for a password for this account in Windows 8.1

Alternatively, you can create a new account, but this time without a password, but this is provided that you do not have anything valuable on this account and you are ready to switch to a new one.

Disable password on wake up windows 8.1

In the eight there is also the possibility of not asking for a password when waking up, in principle a convenient function, if you have a netbook or laptop, we closed it for 5 minutes. opened and lo and behold a password is not required. Let's see where this is done. Also open the search box, make sure that you have selected the item Everywhere, and enter the accounts. In the list that appears, select> Make changes to accounts.

Or, you can also get there through the side menu Options> Change computer settings

It doesn't matter what you choose, you should have this window open. in which you select Accounts.

The wizard will tell you what this option will affect (Disable password when windows wake up), click change.

As you can see, you are notified that no password is required to wake up this computer. mission accomplished.

As you can see, everything turned out to be very simple.

A forgotten Windows 8 password is not yet a cause for panic. Therefore, if you have exactly this situation, do not take any action that could damage both the PC and its components. There are enough methods to reset your password in Windows 8, but each method only works for a specific kind of password.

There are two types of accounts in Windows 8, namely local and online accounts www.live.com. If you don't know what type of account is used on your Windows 8 PC, then you need to find out first. To do this, turn on your computer and see if is the mail address displayed with the domain hotmail.com, live.com or whatever on the screen above, next to the text box where you enter the password to enter the eight. If an e-mail with a domain is displayed, then access to the PC is carried out through it. Alternatively, the account is local.

Change account password online Microsoft records is quite fast and uncomplicated process. But to reset local accounts, you will have to use third-party software or the original Windows 8 disk. Third-party software with which you can reset your password does not always help because computers prebooted with Windows 8 include the new Secure Boot and the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) boot method. This new safe environment downloads complicates process of accessing third-party software tools to remove password.

In this article, we will look at ways to reset, both an online account and a local one. To crack the password of a local account, we will use not only OS tools, but also third party utilities... And for home Windows 8 users, we'll look at alternative password entry methods that are easy to remember.

Changing your online account password

If you log into your Windows 8 laptop or desktop computer using online account for Microsoft and forgot the password to it, then do not be upset. Microsoft account is easily recovered using online form at https://account.live.com/password/reset. Using this form, you can remove the password from any PC, as well as from a smartphone or tablet. Many users who have forgotten their account password, usually are trying to resolve this issue through Microsoft support, but when talking with support, she does not solve this problem and advises use the form which we described above.

Now let's look at an example. Let's go to the page in the browser indicated above.

On this page, select the item " I forgot my password”And go to the next page.

On this page you will need to enter your account name. After that, you will be sent Security code to the additional address that you indicated during registration. Once you receive this security code, you must enter it to verify that you are the owner of your Microsoft account.

After confirming the received password, you will be taken to a page where you can create a new password for your account with the domain hotmail.com, live.com or another. Now you can easily access your Windows 8 PC.

As you can see from the example, it is quite easy to perform a reset knowing an alternate e-mail address or mobile phone number. But what about the situation if you do not have access to an additional e-mail address or mobile by which you can get the security code. The solution is offered by Microsoft itself. Therefore, on the support page http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/id-support, you must select the appropriate item that will help you solve the problem with access.

I would also like to note that when contacting support for a reset, you need to create new account... This account will be temporary and is only needed to reset your password with the assistance of a support. To reset your account, the support team will ask you to fill out an online questionnaire with security-related questions. For example, the entries of any previous passwords will be taken into account, as well as addresses to which you have recently sent letters to your colleagues and friends.

There is one more point to consider. By performing a reset, you will get access to the PC on the eight only if if the computer has Internet access. Otherwise, the eight will ask for the old password that you forgot..

Resetting the local account in the eight

As described earlier, by creating a password for the local 8 recording, you will reliably protect your PC, as it includes a new secure boot and UEFI boot method.

To restore access to the local account, you will need installation disk or bootable USB stick with Windows 8. A bootable USB flash drive can be created using the Microsoft utility “ Media creation tool". In our case, we will be using a boot disk.

Now is the time to warn users: you use this method at your own risk, as it is not recommended by Microsoft developers.

Well, let's get started. Having booted from the disk at system startup, select the installation language and move on to the next window.

In this window, click on the item " System Restore", Which will transfer us to the menu of additional parameters.

Confirm this command with the Enter key and enter the following command.

And also confirm it with the Enter key.

After completing these steps, restart your computer and instead of entering your password at the logon screen, press the Shift key five times, which will open the console as an administrator. At the running command prompt as administrator, enter the command shown below.

In the command entered, "alex" is the username and "Fg45 # -fghd" is the new password.

After successfully restoring the ability to log in, boot from the installation disk and in the console put the utilman.exe back in:

From the example, you can see that it is a little difficult for novice users, but users who have experience with the command line should not have any problems as an administrator.

Creating a USB flash drive using Windows 8

Another convenient tool for resetting a local account password is password reset flash drive... This diskette is a USB flash drive with password reset options for a local account. Before starting the floppy disk wizard, insert the USB flash drive into your PC. To start the wizard, run " Search"With the Win + Q key combination and enter" Creating a reset disk". (The option is available only for authorization with a local password).

Run the found wizard.

In the wizard window, click the Next button, after which the “userkey.psw” file will be written to the USB drive. This file contains information for password reset. You can use this USB flash drive to reset your password, booting to the login screen... On the login screen, type in the wrong password, and then a link will appear next to the password text field. Reset the password».

As you can see from the example, this method is very simple and will suit novice users of a personal computer. But I would like to note that its main drawback is that you will have to create this reset floppy before you forget or lose your password... Therefore, a reset floppy disk is desirable. create immediately after installing the operating system.

Preventing Forgotten Password Problems

Having restored access to your account in Windows 8, you can set new alternative logon methods using the operating system settings. These methods are graphic password and Pin.

For example, using a picture password, you will reliably protect your account, while it is very easy to remember and difficult to forget. The principle of the picture password is based on gestures your favorite photos. To create one, you need to find one of your photos, for example, a photo with your cat. Following the wizard's prompts, set your photo and record three gestures on it, with which you can unlock access to your account.

Usage PIN code is the easiest way to access a home user's computer. For example, everyone has phones that use the four-digit Pin... Therefore you can create the same Pin as in the phone and use it to enter the figure eight. Judge for yourself, such a password is very difficult to forget.

Overview of reset programs

In this example, we will look at two password reset programs. The first program has a name Ophcrack... This utility is distributed free of charge and can be downloaded from the official site http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net. You can download the utility as ISO image and as an archive to create a bootable USB stick. In our case, we will be using the LiveCD version. Having booted at the start of the system from the LiveCD disk, we will find ourselves in such a menu.

In this menu, select the item " Ophcrack graphic mode - automatic". This item will launch a portable Linux-based OS with a console in which you can perform operations on reset password... I would also like to note that if the passwords are very complex, then their search can take a very long time.

The second program is called PCUnlocker... The utility can be downloaded from its official website http://www.top-password.com. PCUnlocker just like Ophcrack, it can be used as an ISO image and as an archive to create a bootable USB stick. First of all, download the image PCUnlocker onto our PC and burn it to an optical disc. Following on, we will boot from this disk at the start of the computer into the program window. PCUnlocker.

PCUnlocker operating system based Windows PE so we will see a familiar interface. To remove the password on our computer running Windows 8, you need to select a user and click the Reset Password button in the utility window PCUnlocker... In our case, the administrator is the user "Alex". After these steps, a reset will be carried out, after rebooting which you will be able to log into your account.

In addition to the utilities considered, there are also some that can remove the password and restore access to your local account:

  • Offline NT Password & Registry Editor;
  • Kon-Boot;
  • Cain & Abel;
  • Trinity Rescue Kit;
  • John the Ripper.

Summing up

In this article, we examined all the popular ways to reset the password, both local and online Windows 8 accounts. For home PCs, the article examined ways of alternative types of passwords that are very easy to remember.

We hope our article will help you reset the password you forgot and will allow you to access your computer.

The question of how to remove a password in Windows 8 becomes especially relevant if you have lost access to your account. However, depending on the circumstances, there may be several solutions to this problem. Let's take a look at a few situations that users encounter most often.

Local account

The simplest situation is to remove the local account security key.

As you can see, removing the passcode in Windows 8 is no more difficult than removing the administrator password in Windows XP. Now let's move on to more complex situations.

Login password

By default, Windows 8 checks the access code at system startup. If you are tired of constantly typing a key, deactivate this function.

Lost password

The above described the ideal situations in which you know the access code and simply do not want to enter it again when you log in. Now let's consider a more difficult and, unfortunately, frequent situation - the password is lost and you cannot access the system.

Microsoft account

If you are logged in with a Microsoft account (your login is your email address), follow these steps to remove your password:

The choice will be presented with three options for solving the problem:

After entering the new password, you will be able to log into your profile without any problems. By the way, if you want, you can completely delete your Microsoft account. However, in this case, you will lose access to some functions: for example, the application store will become unavailable.

Local account

To remove the security key that is installed in your account settings, you will need an installation disc or a Windows bootable USB flash drive.

When the login window opens, click on the Accessibility link located in the lower left corner. Alternatively, you can press the combination Win + U. There will be only one outcome - opening the command line.

Enter the command "net user login new password" and press Enter. If your username is more than one word, use quotation marks around it.

If you see error 8646 on the screen, it means that you are using a Microsoft account, not a local profile.

Conclusion

You can seriously make your life easier by creating a password reset disk beforehand.

  1. Connect the removable USB drive to your computer.
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select Change Password.
  3. Click on "Create Disk ..."

The Create Reset Disc Wizard will walk you through the steps, providing you with media that you can use if you lose your security key.

And the last thing: if you set a password for the computer in the BIOS, just disassemble the system unit and remove the battery from the motherboard, which is responsible for storing the settings. Wait a minute and then install the battery back: all BIOS settings, and with them the set access code, will be reset.
