Top Drivers Similar to D-Link Wireless Router. Top Similar Drivers to D-Link Wireless Router D link dir 300 Network Drivers

Despite the fact that the firmware of the relatively recently distributed Wi-Fi router D-Link DIR-300 D1 is not much different from the previous revisions of the device, users have questions that are related to a small nuance when it is required to download the firmware from the official D-Link website , as well as with an updated web interface in firmware versions 2.5.4 and 2.5.11.

This manual will show in detail how to download the firmware and how to flash the DIR-300 D1 with a new version of the software for the two options originally installed on the router - 1.0.4 (1.0.11) and 2.5.n. I will also try in this guide to take into account all possible problems that may arise.

If you have already connected the router and know how to enter its web interface, you do not need this section. Unless I will note that it is better to update the firmware via a wired connection to the router.

For those who have not yet connected a router, and who have never done such things before:

  1. Connect the router with a cable (included in the package) to the computer from which the firmware will be updated. Computer network card port - LAN port 1 on the router. If you do not have a network port on your laptop, then skip the step, we will connect to it via Wi-Fi.
  2. Plug the router into a power outlet. If a wireless connection will be used for the firmware, after a while the DIR-300 network should appear, which is not protected by a password (provided that you did not change its name and parameters earlier), connect to it.
  3. Launch any browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. If suddenly this page does not open, check that in the parameters of the connection used, in the properties of the TCP / IP protocol, Obtain IP and DNS automatically is set.
  4. When prompted for a username and password, enter admin. (When you first log in, you may also be asked to immediately change the standard password, if you change it, do not forget it, this is the password for entering the router settings). If the password does not work, then it is possible that you or someone changed it earlier. In this case, you can reset the router by pressing and holding the Reset button on the back of the device.

If everything described was successful, go directly to the firmware.

DIR-300 D1 router firmware process

Depending on which firmware version is currently installed on the router, after logging in, you will see one of the configuration interface options shown in the picture.

In the first case, for firmware versions 1.0.4 and 1.0.11, do the following:

  1. Click "Advanced settings" at the bottom (if necessary, enable the Russian interface language at the top, the Language item).
  2. Under System, click the double arrow to the right and then Software Update.
  3. Specify the firmware file that we downloaded earlier.
  4. Click the Update button.

Then wait for the firmware of your D-Link DIR-300 D1 to complete. If you feel like everything is frozen or the page has stopped responding, go to the Notes section below.

In the second version, for firmware 2.5.4, 2.5.11 and subsequent 2.n.n, after entering the settings:

  1. In the menu on the left, select System - Software update (if necessary, enable the Russian language of the web interface).
  2. In the Local Update section, click the Browse button and locate the firmware file on your computer.
  3. Click the Update button.

In a short time, the firmware will be downloaded to the router and updated.

Notes (edit)

If, when updating the firmware, it seemed to you that your router was frozen, because the progress bar is moving endlessly in the browser, or it simply shows that the page is not available (or something similar), this is simply because when the software is updated, the connection between the computer and the router is interrupted, you just need to wait a minute or a half, reconnect to the device (if a wired connection was used, it will restore itself), and re-enter the settings, where you can see that the firmware has been updated.

Further configuration of the DIR-300 D1 router is no different from the configuration of the same devices with the previous interface options, the differences in design should not scare you. You can look at the instructions on my website, the list is available on the page (I will prepare manuals specifically for this model in the near future).

We have already reviewed the configuration and installation of the D-Link DIR router, today we will talk about flashing.

Model definition

First of all, you need to determine the model of your router, in order to then select the D-Link firmware we need. The model is painted on the bottom of the device.

Download from the official site

Only after you have precisely determined the model of the router, proceed to downloading the firmware to the D-Link DIR-300 router. The company has a website with all its D-Link firmwares, which greatly simplifies our task. Go to the address - http://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/ This page contains programs for all routers of the company we are interested in. In this list, we need to find our device.

At this point, follow the link with the name D-Link "DIR-300_NRU". It contains programs for many models at once. Then you need to select the Firmware folder. And here we choose the model that you have. We have, for example, a DIR 300 NRU B7 router. For you, this could be, for example, NRU B5. In the folder where we went, there is a file with the extension ".bin". We download this file.

Software Update

We go to the device settings. If anyone does not know, then in the browser you just need to go to the site 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. If the page interface is designed in dark gray tones, then click on the "Advanced settings" link, it is located in the lower left corner, as shown in the screenshot.

In the column "System" there is an arrow to the right, there is "Software update".

In the window that has opened, select "review" to select the file of interest to us. We select the file that was downloaded before, the one with the extension ".bin". We press the "update" button. This completes the update. Consider updating on other interfaces.

If the interface is old, white background, blue panels, then we act a little differently. We go into the same router settings. We enter our username and password. In the top panel there is an item "System". A list appears where we select "Software Update". We select our file and update the software.

D-Link router firmware interface 1.2. has nautical tones, blue-green menu color on the left. We select "System", "Software update". After these steps, as usual, select the file and update.

There is also an older D-LINK DIR-300 firmware version 1. A dark gray menu in English. We select "MAINTENANCE" in the upper menu, then our choice falls on "Firmware Update", which is in the left list. Select the file, click update.

This is how we essentially update the software in one step. The only problem can be the lack of the Russian language in the old firmware.

Attention! It is important to understand that in no case should you turn off the device by stopping the software update process..

The Dlink dir-300 wireless router is a kind of dinosaur among the routers of its class, suffice it to say that after the first model Dlink dir-300 became obsolete, various analogs of Dlink dir-300 B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7 began to appear which surpass in terms of speed and functionality of its prototype. But, in order to use the additional functionality without interruption, I recommend updating your Dlink to the latest firmware, this is what this article is about.

The first step is to set up a network on a computer / laptop on automatic acquisition of IP-address and DNS-server

Before updating the firmware, be sure to check the hardware revision (H / W) of your router. To do this, take a look at the sticker on the bottom of the router. This sticker has an inscription that begins with "H / W Ver .:"

After you have determined the revision of your DIR-300 NRU and its version, download the latest firmware, according to the revision
Important!!! DO NOT install firmware for DIR-300 NRU hardware versions B1, B2 and B3 into a DIR-300 NRU router with hardware revisions B5, B6 and vice versa. This will lead to a complete failure of your device. After that, it will be possible to restore the router only for money by contacting a specialized service center.
If you have Dlink dir-300 NRU B1 / B2 / B3, then download this firmware from here .
If Dlink dir-300 NRU B5 / B6 / B7 then you need to download the firmware here from here .
If you have Dlink dir-300 A / B, download firmware from here.
In this article, for example, I will update the Dlink dir-300 NRU firmware (hardware revision B5), but the update process for all Dlink routers is similar, so it may be suitable for updating the Dlink dir-300 NRU B1, B2, B3, B6, B7.

So let's start, in a browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox is recommended.), Enter your router's address in the address bar, by default it is used 192.168.0.1 (login admin, password admin)

Then, for security purposes, Dlink will offer to change the password, enter and click "Save".

This will open the router's web interface.

In order to start the update, you must go along the path "System - Software update".

Then press "Overview" indicate the path to the downloaded update and click "Refresh".

Hello dear readers of the inforkomp blog. So, as you understood from the title of the article, today I want to return to the topic again: wireless access point settings. To be more precise, I want to talk about: how to flash a router and why do it... I will show the process of resetting the software with an example. Wi-FI router Dlink Dir-300... But, if your router model differs from the one shown here, it's okay, the process itself is the same, except that only the design of the settings window and the name of the menu items will differ.

Why did I decide to write specifically about the firmware of the router? First of all, the idea to write an article about router firmware update, but not how I could not get myself together and do it. The second reason is that recently, many acquaintances have begun to ask me exactly this question: how to flash a router, what to press and what firmware to use.

As a rule, many users initially try to update it before. For example, personally, when buying or setting up a new device, I check the firmware version and, if possible, update it to the latest version. And you know what, for probably more than a year my router has been working and has never frozen.

I believe that updating the firmware on the router is a must. The very meaning of the updates is that the developers, releasing new firmware versions, fix all the shortcomings and errors that could appear when working with the Internet and a router. Moreover, the process of flashing the router itself is very easy.

Therefore, if you have serious problems with Wi-Fi, then be sure to try reflashing your WI-Fi router after reading the article.

Why reflash a router

Well, there can be a lot of reasons to flash a router. Here are a few of them:

  • 1. The most commonplace reason is the firmware update for a stable and high-quality Wi-Fi signal;
  • 2. No device picks up the Wi Fi signal;
  • 3. The message is constantly on that the smartphone and the computer;
  • 4. The cable with the Internet inserted into the WAN port is not visible or not detected;
  • 5. Wi-Fi signal constantly disappears and appears; etc.

In general, there are just a huge number of problems with which the firmware of the router will help to cope with it.

Preparation and selection of firmware

IMPORTANT!!!

  • Choose your firmware carefully. Do not be mistaken in determining the hardware version of the device;
  • Disconnect the Internet cable from the router, leaving only power and connection to the computer;
  • You should only flash the router using a network cable, which we connect to any port of the access point (except WAN), and the other side to the computer's network card. You cannot update the router software using WiFi;
  • All settings, passwords and logins will be reset to factory settings. That, after the update, you will have to configure it again;
  • Do not turn off the access point while flashing;

Well, let's start by determining the router revision and downloading the required firmware. In order to find out the hardware version, we need to turn the device over and look at the sticker with technical information. I have this " H / W Ver .: B5" and " F / W Ver .: 1.2.94"Therefore, whoever has the same revision or B6, then download the firmware here: link.

For those who have Dlink dir-300 NRU B7, download the update from this link by selecting the required version. Download for owners of routers with revision B1, B2, B3. If you have another router, then go here, and in the list that appears, select the device with the corresponding revision. Then, going to the folder " Firmware", Which contains the latest firmware version in the form of a" bin "file.

Now, by clicking on the file, save it to your computer.

Once again, be careful with the choice of the firmware version. Because if you try to install the firmware that is required for revisions B1-3 on a router from revisions B5-7, it may break it. And it will be possible to restore its operability only in the service center, having paid a certain amount for this.

D-Link Dir 300 router firmware

As always, at any setting, first, using the technical data (password, login) indicated on the sticker. If you accidentally forgot your password, then you will need it.

A window of the web interface of our device will open.

To start updating the router's firmware, you need to go to the following menu items: " System» -> « Software Update».

In the firmware update menu, clicking on the " Select»We will need to find the downloaded file and open it. If a name appears next to the selection button, then everything is in order. To start the process, click on " Refresh».

All that remains is to wait until the firmware update is completed and the router rebooted.

The next time you enter the settings, we use the standard password and check the current software version.

Also, do not forget that all settings are abandoned. Therefore, be sure to remember. Leave comments if you have questions or need help finding the correct firmware.
