Phone off timer. "Smart" turning on and off of wireless interfaces

Smartphones based on the Android operating system today are no longer considered a luxury item, but a necessary thing that should always be near, and with which you can easily and freely communicate with family and friends.

Modern smartphones based on Android OS are also indispensable assistants in business. Every year more and more new models of mobile phones are released, and each time they become more perfect, more functional, more powerful and thinner.

Having become the happy owner of a smartphone, you gradually begin to notice that the battery is not enough for a long time, and you should save it. For example, when the phone is not needed in the near future, it is better to turn it off.

Turn off the device on android

The procedure for turning off and on on Android smartphones is not so much different from the same procedure on other phones.

You can turn your smartphone on and off using a special button, which is most often located on the right side of the phone case. There are also smartphones in which the power button is located on the left side of the phone case.

This button is usually marked with an off sign - a circle with a stripe in the center. Nearby, on the same button, a lock can also be drawn, which means that using this button you can lock the device.

So, if you press this button once, you can unlock or lock the phone. And in our case, you need to press this button and hold it for a few seconds until a menu with 3 lines appears on the screen - “ Turn off the power”, “Restart” and “Enable". We select the item "Turn off the power" and that's it - the smartphone is turned off.

It is also possible to turn on and off the smartphone without using the power button - using various applications. For example, some applications can turn off the phone depending on its orientation in space. If you turn on one of the modes, then the device will turn off at the moment when it is placed in your pocket, and if you select the second mode, then the gadget will turn off when it is placed on the table with the screen down. This effect is possible due to the use of proximity sensors and an accelerometer.

With these mobile apps, you can turn your smartphone on and off without having to constantly hit the power button. This does not increase the power consumption of the device.

Sleep timer program- Automatic shutdown of Android smartphone functions.
Recently, audio players often add such a function as a sleep timer, which is very useful for those who often fall asleep to music and do not want the device to be discharged almost to zero overnight. An application with the identical name “Sleep Timer” will help you not only turn off the player, but also WiFi, Bluetooth, mobile Internet and lock the screen. Sounds great, so let's check how well it works.

The weight of the application is very pleasantly surprising and pleasing, less than a megabyte. On the main screen there is a timer that can be set in increments of one minute. Also at the bottom there are special blanks for quickly setting the time. It is a pity that the developers did not add the ability to create such templates on their own. After you have chosen the time, it remains only to click on the Start button and you can continue to go about your business. The application has already been tested on more than 10 devices and all sorts of bugs have been fixed first, but if something doesn't work for you, then feel free to write about it on the Google Play page.

In the settings, it is possible to choose which functions should be turned off after the timer ends, as well as set the action on the button in the notification panel. Sleep Timer is a quality app that won't take up much space on your device, but can make life a lot easier if you need to turn off system functions after a certain amount of time.

In fact, this article is a continuation of our previous publication, in which we touched on ways to increase the operating time of a mobile device on the Android operating system. During this time, I managed to find several good programs that allow you to more subtly and intelligently manage the power consumption of the device. One app helps you save battery in a simple and efficient way. Secondly, it will detect a gluttonous program and even indicate the subprocess responsible for the increased consumption.

Go Power Master app

"Smart" turning on and off of wireless interfaces

As I wrote earlier, the main problem with the energy efficiency of the device is the user who forgets to turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and data transfer over a cellular network. Everything is clear - we, people, cannot boast of the order inherent in machines. However, this problem can be solved. For example, install the Go Power Master program.

This wonderful application can turn off wireless interfaces by timer after turning off the screen. Set, for example, a minute and your phone, when you do not use it, will turn off Wi-Fi itself. The savings will be noticeable to you immediately.

The Go Power Master application also has a number of other useful features. For example, the paid version can not only turn off wireless connections by timer, but also turn them on from time to time to check mail and synchronize. By default, it does this at intervals of 30 minutes.

Operating modes management

The Go Power Master program has a number of mechanisms to save energy by using it more efficiently. For example, you can set a schedule to turn on and off the power saving mode at night. If your phone does not allow you to set up scheduled on and off, this feature will come in handy.

Removing unnecessary energy consumers

Go Power Master allows you to analyze the rating of the strongest energy consumers and, if necessary, disable apps hanging in the background to save battery. Here are the settings for me are ambiguous. The fact is that it would be more correct to configure the application for the correct mode of operation, if you really need it. All social network clients, for example, have a synchronization frequency setting. Maybe it’s better to deal with the settings of individual programs than to massively “kill” background applications each time?

The features of the Power Go PRO version can also be obtained in a way other than transferring money. One can simply download and start using several programs of their partners. I needed to download five applications for this. One of them, by the way, took root on my tablet.

There is an important note. When using such programs that can turn off Wi-Fi in idle mode on a timer, do not forget about the automatic updating of applications. Programs start updating automatically, and then the connection is turned off and the installation of new versions of programs ends with an error. In this situation, I advise you to turn off automatic updates and update the programs once a week manually.

Wakelock Detector-Save battery app

Actually, it is easy to find out the main consumers of energy by system means. In the "settings" find the item "battery". It will show all the applications that "eat" the battery more than others. But the reason is not stated there. To search for the reasons for the increased battery consumption, a special Wakelock Detector program was written. The algorithm is simple. We install the program. After the next charge, we use the phone as usual. When a sufficiently long period of time has passed, we look at the Wakelock Detector report.

One of the main reasons for the increased power consumption lies in the constant disruption of the “sleep” of our device. This happens because programs hanging in the background sometimes try to update something from the network or synchronize something.

The most typical examples are checking e-mail or the weather forecast. It was on frequent weather updates that I managed to catch Yandex.Shell after it began to eat too much battery after the next update. I expanded the Yandex.Shell line in the list of “waking up” phone applications and found that it was the weather update service that woke up the phone.

In order for the application to show subprocesses, check the "advanced mode" checkbox in its settings!

We've looked at two more apps that can help you extend your mobile device's battery life. Go Power Master claims to stay in your phone for a long time. Wakelock Detector is still a utility utility - you need to find out the battery energy thief - downloaded and then deleted.

Perhaps, each user of a mobile phone or smartphone has had a situation when a call rings in the middle of the night, and, entangled in a blanket, chairs and other furniture on the way to the “tube”, you answer an incoming call and ... It turns out that the caller needs some kind of Vasya, Petya, Fedya or another Masha, the existence of which the owner of an Android smartphone does not even suspect, not to mention that he may know them personally.

A very unfortunate situation. Irritating even, especially if sleep was interrupted before a hard day's work. But this article is devoted to solving the very possibility of such a problem.

So, for the Android operating system, there are a whole bunch of applications that, depending on the conditions, including the time of day, change the smartphone settings, for example, the volume of the ringtone of an incoming call, turn on or off the Wi-Fi connection or GPS. Programs of this kind are called profile managers. But the trouble is that most of the profile managers presented on Google Play (Android Market) are paid, while free ones have limited functionality. But, fortunately, there are exceptions, and we are talking about one of them - Llama. Llama is a completely free application, which, nevertheless, is very high quality. Consider turning off the sound at night with Llama.

Of course, to begin with, the specified application must be downloaded and installed on our smartphone. We launch Llama, and in the “Profiles” tab we see 4 standard ones, which are more than enough to get started. Open the "Events" tab, where we see a lot of various events. They are not ordered in the best way, therefore, to begin with, we turn them all off completely. To do this, long press on the desired event and select the "Disable" item in the menu. You can delete events altogether - but in case you still need them someday, just turn them off.

Once we have dealt with the events, we press the plus on the bottom panel to create a profile. Let's call it "Night", although you can specify any name you wish.

Select the “Add condition” item, select the “Time interval” item from the drop-down list and set the desired time - let it be from 23:00 to 7:00. You can also set any other time at which you usually sleep.

After creating an event, click "Add action", in the drop-down list item "Profile". Select the profile "Silent" or "Quiet" as desired.

Since our smartphone constantly consumes precious battery power on wireless connections and the operation of the radio module, which are not needed at night, you can turn on Airplane Mode, that is, turn them off at night. If suddenly someone calls you at night, then most likely in the morning you will receive a short text message with information about the missed call - most mobile operators support this feature. You can, of course, leave wireless connections on if you don't want to miss some important night call until you sleep, or if, for example, you need to constantly synchronize various services via an Internet connection. To select the activation of "Airplane Mode", in the "Add Action" menu, select the item "Airplane Mode" - "Airplane Mode Enabled" in the drop-down list.

Ready. As a result, it should look like in this screenshot:

Also, do not forget that in the morning you need to turn on sound alerts and wireless interfaces. Therefore, we create events with the name “Day”, perform similar actions, only set the values opposite to those that were set for our “Night” profile.
