Comparison of sound in a smartphone htc 7 mozart. HTC Mozart: the first WP7 smartphone in Russia

15 / 12 / 2011

They brought me a very interesting smartphone / communicator from HTC, I'm talking about, which has an unusual interesting design and runs on the MS Windows Phone 7 operating system.

Contents of delivery

Next: in the box, in addition to the phone itself, there is a wired stereo headset, pads for it, a USB cable, a network adapter and an instruction manual.

Appearance

The design is unusual - 100% in the style of the company, it is easily recognizable from whichever side you look: the front is strict with rounded corners, and the back is unusual, sporty, with an intricate pattern. The case is a monoblock, monolithic, aluminum, very durable and pleasant to the touch. There are only two small inserts made of soft-touch plastic: for normal operation of the transmitter and for removing the battery and SIM card. I want to emphasize the solidity of the case - the battery is removed from the bottom - the back cover is not removed, only a small plastic insert is removed. The phone is assembled just perfectly, the details are fitted tightly, there are no squeaks and backlash anywhere. The color is very pleasant - dark gray - graphite.

On the front panel there is a large 3.7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. The display is very bright and the pixels are small. Multi-touch technology is supported. Text input is very convenient and hassle-free, all touches on the screen are perceived clearly and without errors.

By the way, I was upset not to find the front camera - video calls are not possible on the HTC 7 Mozart.

Under the screen are 3 touch buttons: back, home screen and search.

In the dark, the touch buttons glow white.

On the right side there is only a camera shutter button.

On the left is a dual volume button and a USB connector for connecting a charger or USB cable.

The upper part is interesting with an on/off/lock button and a standard 3.5 mm headphone or headset jack.

The rear panel is very interesting, on it we see a camera eye, a flash, and a polyphonic speaker mesh.

Menu

I'm used to the fact that all previous HTC smartphones were running the Android operating system, but made from a different test - it runs on the MS Windows Phone 7 system, which appeared quite recently and has already captured the hearts of many users. I like MS Windows Phone 7 very much, if only because the operating system is fresh, new, not similar to either iOS or Android. Let's take a closer look at it. This is how the main screen (desktop) looks like, which scrolls down:

Various elements are located on the desktop: phone, contacts, messages, e-mail and other games and programs. You can also put various widgets and contacts from the address book here. All added elements appear sequentially at the end (at the very bottom). The blocks can be swapped and arranged as you wish, for this you need to hold your finger on the screen for a couple of minutes:

The main menu is called up by clicking on the arrow in the upper right corner or by swiping from right to left. It looks like this:

The menu scrolls down, it is very convenient and understandable, the submenu is designed quite interestingly:

Anyone can handle understanding this new operating system - it's really intuitive and easy to use!

The background color of the menu can be changed, two options are available - dark and light.

You can also change the color of the elements, the available colors are lilac, turquoise, lime, brown, pink, orange, cyan, red, green, magenta, htc.

I really like the menu and MS Windows Phone 7, and I think not only me. If you doubt the convenience or that you will not be able to adapt - do not hesitate!

Functional Ability

Let's see how functional the MS Windows Phone 7 system itself is. Initially, the phone already has a number of very useful applications, let's see which ones:

stocks, alarm clocks, games, calendar, calculator, maps, converter, audio/video player, photo enhancement, Google Mail, Internet Explorer, Office (powerful, has notes, supports Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

At first glance, it may seem that Mozart's functionality is not great, but this is not so, here, like any operating system, there is a market application - called Marketplace - games and programs made specifically for the MS Windows Phone 7 operating system are concentrated here. Apps and games are not only paid, there is also a lot of free content.

In order to download anything, you need to enter a Windows Live ID, I didn’t have one, but registration was quick and without problems right from the phone. After registration, I pumped up a lot of interesting things!

I was in a pleasant anticipation when mine synced music with the iTunes library, I was itching to hear how the player sounds here.

The first screen looks like this:

When it was over, I plugged in my favorite in-ear headphones and started the song...

The sound of the player amazed me! The sound is very clear and balanced, loud but not deafening, I heard music well in the subway. Big respect for the new operating system from Gates!

The functionality of the player did not please me, there is no equalizer and even a scroll bar! Quickly switch to the middle of the song will not work. First time I meet this!

The sound can only be corrected thanks to the sound enhancement program from NTS:

Communication skills

Since a smartphone / communicator, it must be able to access the Internet, transfer and receive files, and it is not something that it can do - it does.

For the Internet, there is WiFi and GPRS / EDGE / 3G for those cases where WiFi is not available.

For communication with a headset or headphones and for data transfer there is Bluetooth.

USB is also here, on a computer with the Windows operating system, the phone is defined as a drive, unfortunately there is no such thing in Mac OS, in order to work with HTC 7 Mozart on a MacBook "e you need to download and install the Windows Phone 7 Connector program from the App Store, where it is distributed free of charge.This program, like iTunes for iPhone, also synchronizes photos, music, videos and other content, and you can also use it to browse the file system of the device.

Signals and polyphony

The sound of the ringtone is high-quality, loud, the sound is clear, you can put melodies on the ringtone in almost all formats. I was incredibly happy about this, because the Android operating system creates a negative impression about HTC devices. Among the pre-installed 93 melodies, you can find very interesting ones!

The vibrating alert is above average, it feels good in your pocket!

Navigation

In addition to everything you need, it is equipped with the Maps application, which in turn have navigation. Maps, like Android smartphones, are loaded via the Internet, and location is determined via the Internet and GPS.

Unfortunately, these maps cannot build a route and lead along it, like Google Maps, for example, here the maps are rather for orientation in space.

There is an excellent program for navigation on the Marketplace, although it is paid and costs a lot of money (1324 rubles), but the maps will already be in the phone and the traffic consumption of the device will drop sharply.

Memory

Equipped with built-in memory in the amount of 8 GB, which is very, very good. On 8 gigs you can download a lot of interesting and necessary content.

Unfortunately, there is no slot for memory cards here, it is not clear why, 8 GB is certainly good, but if there was a slot, it would be possible to significantly expand the amount of free space on the device.

Performance

I was very pleased with the speed of the device - the menu is very fast, there are absolutely no jerks, sticking and other "brakes". It is a pleasure to use them. All the programs and games I downloaded worked without problems at all!

The Qualcomm QSD8250 processor is installed, which operates at a frequency of 1000 MHz. The device has 512 MB of RAM, which is plenty in this case!

It seems to me that MS Windows Phone 7 "eats" less resources than Android and runs faster on the same hardware.

By the way, the Windows Phone 7 operating system is multitasking, there are applications that work quietly in the background.

Battery

Despite the fact that the manufacturers equipped the novelty with a 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery, I cannot say that it works for a very long time on a single battery charge. After a full charge, it worked for me for 1 day, I consider this result not very good, but if you take into account the presence of a bright display and the fact that I constantly listened to music, played games and talked a lot and surfed the menu, then you can to conclude that it works just like other smartphones of this kind.

Official promises about the duration of work are as follows: 6 hours 45 minutes during a call and 435 hours in standby mode.

Camera

Equipped with a good photo / video camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels. The camera shoots HD video, has autofocus and flash, and can recognize faces.

Photo settings:

Flash - on, off, auto

Scene - auto, portrait, landscape, sports, beach, backlight, candle light, macro

Effect - grayscale, negative, sepia, solarium

Resolution - economy (640x480), 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 megapixels

Metering mode - central, integral, spot

Start of official sales of Windows Phone in Russia

At the end of last week, HTC (HTC Corporation) finally officially introduced its smartphones in Russia running on the new Windows Phone operating system, and even announced the start date for sales of the first of them at a magnificent presentation in a trendy Moscow club.

Recall that Windows Phone is a new mobile operating system from Microsoft, which was announced at the beginning of last year at Mobile World Congress 2010. It differs not only in its unusual, unlike anything graphical interface, but also in the absolute incompatibility of applications with all previous ones. versions of Windows Mobile. Microsoft has taken the bold step of ditching decades of Windows Mobile heritage and building virtually every element of the system from scratch. The result is a modern, surprisingly bright and fairly fast operating system, which is also not at all difficult to use. In this it is closer to Apple iOS than to Android, not to mention its progenitor - Windows Mobile.

It is not surprising that HTC was one of the first to release smartphones on this OS, because its partnership with Microsoft has been going on for a good ten years, ever since HTC launched their first communicators. And the world-wide fame of the company was brought by devices of the Touch series, based precisely on Microsoft Windows Mobile. "The Windows Phone mobile platform sets a new direction for Microsoft Corporation and its partners, and HTC Corporation is joining the process to provide significant support by bringing new Windows Phone-based smartphones to market," said Andy Lees, President, Mobile Business Unit. Communications Business, Microsoft.

In total, three new devices were presented at the presentation: HTC Mozart, HTC Titan and HTC Radar. The last two are known only from promotional videos and descriptions of the developers - the real devices were never shown. Here is what little has been said about them.

The HTC Titan features a large 4.7-inch LCD display, an 8-megapixel camera, and a very thin, just 9.9mm thick, aluminum-coated body.

HTC Radar focuses on design, with a unibody aluminum body designed to be the epitome of elegance, and the original appearance is complemented by powerful technical features: a 3.8-inch Super LCD touch display, a 5-megapixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8255 processor with a frequency of 1 GHz and 512 MB of RAM. In addition, the HTC Radar, equipped with a front camera, will be the first Windows Phone to support Skype video calls.

The third of the devices, on the contrary, flickered all evening in the hands of numerous speakers, entertained visitors at the stands and even played out in quizzes.

This device is called HTC Mozart and is a nice Windows Phone with an eight-megapixel camera and an all-metal body made of a monolithic block of anodized aluminum.

The characteristics of HTC Mozart are as follows:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor;
  • Windows Phone 7.5 operating system with HTC Sense interface;
  • Super LCD color display, diagonal 3.7 inches, WVGA 480 × 800 pixels, multitouch;
  • RAM 576 MB, internal memory 8 GB;
  • communication GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, GPRS/EDGE;
  • 3G UMTS/HSPA 900/2100 communication;
  • Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP;
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n;
  • GPS, AGPS;
  • position sensor in space;
  • digital compass;
  • proximity sensor;
  • light sensor;
  • camera 8 megapixels, autofocus, xenon flash, video recording (720p);
  • battery 1300 mAh;
  • dimensions 119×60.2×11.9 mm;
  • weight 130 grams.

Representatives of both companies vied with each other to list the advantages of the new OS and even acted out scenes that simulate life situations in which the new Windows Phone is indispensable.

During the show, of course, there were some overlays, but this did not bother the speakers at all. Managers of NTS, Microsoft and MTS firmly believe in the bright future of Windows Phone and that it will soon overtake and maybe even surpass competitors in the smartphone market.

By the way, representatives of a third party, MTC, which will now sell all this, assured that: "every HTC Mozart buyer will receive a year of free mobile Internet as a gift." Here it is worth clarifying that this is a short-term PR campaign that will last only a month. MTS subscribers who bought HTC Mozart during this period will receive free Internet by connecting the Smart BIT option without a subscription fee for a period of 12 months.

HTC Mozart will be the first smartphone in Europe based on Windows Phone 7.5 and will mark the beginning of sales of mobile devices on the new version of the platform. “By introducing the first mobile device in Europe on the latest version of Windows Phone, HTC has once again confirmed its title as one of the most innovative companies in the world,” says Andrey Kormiltsev, head of the NTS office in Russia and the CIS.

Sales of the new HTC Mozart smartphone have already started and can be found in retail chains MTS and Svyaznoy, as well as in NTS own stores. The recommended retail price of a smartphone in Russia will not be so much, only 12,990 rubles, which may stir up interest and encourage those who want to try out the new system in action to buy.

    Awesome design, comfortable touchpad, bright display, great camera for the price, pretty good functionality, interesting menu of music and clips

    Aluminum case, stylish design, Win 7.8, xenon flash, the ability to increase the phone's memory up to 16 GB (a flash drive is inserted inside the device), an acceptable display.

    the camera is good, the body is aluminum, the speaker is loud!)

    Original appearance. At the same time, it is extremely practical. For three years of operation (without covers and films), there is not a scratch on the metal case, on the glass only in the upper left corner (from lightning), and even then they are small. Appearance is still on a solid four. Glitch-free and stable OS, acceptable functionality and unique appearance. After two years on Windows Mobile 6.1-6.5 WP7 just struck me with its interface (everything is so cool and unusual, wow... Those were my first thoughts). The Android interface is still poorly distinguishable for me from WM = D The overall balance of characteristics, despite the hardware shortcomings of this smart. Because the largest ones (battery, data storage) are easily solved: Mugen Power 1800 mAh battery, opening the device and installing microSD SanDisk 3

    Well built PDA. I have been using it for two years now, all the time in the Beeline network. According to the action, the Internet costs 120 rubles. per month, three gigs without speed limit. Great web surfing. Streaming video from you tube plays without problems.

    Terrible smartphone! Never, ever buy! I took it with Windows 7, now there are no updates, many programs simply do not work, for example, Instagram. CONSTANTLY hangs, tupit, buggy and turns off, especially in the cold! There is no flashlight, radio, voice recorder, front camera and other elementary functions. Discharges during active work in a matter of minutes. The screen is very easy to break, and its replacement will cost almost the full cost of the phone itself, it's easier to buy a new one. The charging socket is also very weak, loosened. The amount of built-in memory is only 2G, and it is impossible to install a flash drive into it, it is not provided by the manufacturer. If the device runs out of memory (a lot of music, photos or videos), then forget about shooting a video - nothing will work. All media files are downloaded only through the Zu program

    System not updating, hellish interface, search button, PC contact, file and photo sharing

    The device is, to put it mildly, crude. Raw and buggy. When you upgrade to 7.8, the device starts to work much worse with domestic providers. With MTS, in general, trouble is sadness. Constantly arbitrarily loses connection even on the street near the tower. The battery is very small. Ate-ate enough for a day (pleased that it is removable). The camera clearly does not live up to the specified characteristics, it looks more like a budget Chinese noname.

    With Simka MTS, he finally behaves badly! In some places, finally, the connection disappears, although you insert a good connection into another phone! the most current minus is that there is no conductor! (And the bluetooth only works on Windows OS, it doesn’t want to communicate with android! The battery is finally terrible! I have enough data transfer for 7 hours!

    For me, there are probably only two major ones: this is the dead end of the development of the OS, and the logical lack of due attention from the developers of third-party software. I just got the impression that the guys from MS just scored on it, although again, I repeat, the OS at first looked more attractive than its competitors.

    minus a star for the buggy of Windows, it sometimes hangs, it is especially dangerous to oversleep if the alarm does not work, because. glitch often (for a couple of years 4-5 times with complete suspension) occurs when you don’t touch it and until you turn it on, you don’t know

    6 years ago

    Battery Sometimes freezes tightly Rare failures of the SIM card (more often they are a sign that it is time to change the SIM card)

    The screen would be 4.5 inches, and everything would be fine. But with 3.7, the PDA looks neater.
