More and more often, people think about changing their old wearable device to another. There are several options in the market globally. That is, if we talk about the OS. These three include: iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. Of course, there are many more of them, but it is these three that occupy the main place on the market and are the most relevant today. However, judging by the percentage, it should be said that Windows Phone has several tens of times less indicators. The situation changes every month, one thing that remains unchanged is the fact that iOS and Android constantly compete in a large market share, which means they occupy much more than 40-45 percent. Thus, it is clear that about Windows Phone it makes no sense to speak.

It's important for Apple that people switch to their phones and tablets. And to do this, they try to make the transition from device to device as easy as possible. After all, a person's gadget stores a lot of useful information, which is not pleasant to lose. It will take a long time to recover, so users prefer not to change the system or even change the phone at all. Moreover, there are applications for transferring from android to android, and for a long time only they did not allow the transfer to iOS.

Not so long ago, the company released a tool with which it is possible to transfer from Android to iOS. It is possible to do this for both the iPhone and the iPad. With its help, the necessary information will be transferred from the Android device. on a brand new device from Apple. The option is called: "Transferring data from Android OS »And is available with settings from the time of iOS 9 and above.

At the same time, it is interesting that the official Apple store - App Store for a long time has applications and ways to transfer data, but the company itself has not taken steps in this direction for a long time. Even after Google officially made a tool to, on the contrary, transfer information, contacts, and more from iOS on Android. However, integrating directly into the settings of a new device is incredibly convenient and simple. The transition process does not take much effort and only makes life easier. However, for example, messages from Whatsapp and other personal data inside applications will not be transferred. Also, of course, applications or games that are not on another operating system will never be transferred. This is logical, but will be mentioned.

  • The ability to transfer information appeared in iOS 9, but now it is available on subsequent versions;
  • If the user has an iPhone 5 or higher;
  • If the user has an iPad 4 or higher;
  • If the user has an iPad mini 2 or higher;
  • If the user has an iPod touch 6, although this is the rarest layout;
  • On the back, it must be Android 4.0 or higher.

What needs to be prepared

The process will take some time, which means that it is worth taking care of some simple preparation so that everything goes according to plan. So, the user needs:

  • On both devices, Wi-Fi must be turned on, at that high-speed, so that nothing breaks or interrupts in order to transfer information safely.
  • Also, it is better to connect both devices to the charging, so that, in which case, the process does not stop due to the discharged battery at the end.
  • It's also worth making sure that your new Apple device has enough storage space to transfer it from Android. After all, Android phones have the ability to expand the internal memory up to 128 gigabytes, which means that it can even reach 256 gigabytes.
  • You also need to make sure that all updates are installed on your Android device. The same Google Chrome , otherwise the movement of tabs, history, passwords and other things will not happen.

After the preparatory phase, there are basic steps and steps that will help you set up the basic steps correctly. It is worth remembering that the operation will only work if the device is new and configured from scratch, or if its previous settings and memory have been reset.

  • Stage 1. While the process of setting up a new device from Apple is in progress (it doesn't matter if it's an iPhone, iPad or iPod), there is a step "Programs and Data", which should be stopped. At the bottom you can see the item, which is called: "Transfer data from Android OS" , which should be chosen
  • Stage 2. After several standard actions during device setup, the item "Move to iOS" will also appear ... It prompts you to download the application to your old device, where a 10-character code will appear.
  • Stage 3. On an old Android device you will need to go to the Google Play app store from where the "Move to iOS" application is downloaded (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com... ). After starting the application, the message "Continue" or "Next" appears, where there is an agreement with the user conditions. After confirmation, just enter the code that appears on the Apple device during setup.
  • Stage 4. After that, it connects to your old device. It is important that there is a single Wi-Fi network. The whole process takes a few minutes. After which in the application "Move to iOS" all the information that is transferred to the iOS device appears.
  • Stage 5. Next comes the process of transferring the selected data. Next, we'll talk more about what data is being transferred and how best to organize it, but in short, it is possible to transfer main contacts, photos, messages, videos, notes, reminders, Google Chrome (bookmarks, history, passwords, and so on), the calendar. Data changes and distorts, it all depends on the original device.

After selecting the main data, the button "Finish" or "Next" is pressed and the process begins. It is important not to turn off your Android device, even if a message appears that the process is complete. It's worth making sure it's really complete on both devices and it's time to move on. There is no definite time that the process will take. It all depends on the amount and amount of information.

In addition to the listed contacts, messages, history, photos, videos, bookmarks, accounts and more, free programs will also be transferred, given that they are also on Google Play and in the App Store ... If the applications are free, then they will be downloaded to the new device, if they are paid, then they will be indicated in the list as possible for downloading.

  • Stage 6. The transfer process is complete and the devices are disconnecting from each other. After that, the standard configuration of a new device from Apple continues, where the Apple ID, geolocation, and so on are indicated.

In America, Europe and other countries where there are official stores from Apple, there is a function of recycling an old device on Android ... You have to bring the device there and it will be recycled ecologically. This is more correct than throwing it in the trash can, given the battery and the many harmful substances that it contains.

After transferring Google accounts, you need to enter them so that the information is fully synchronized and transferred to your new "home".

If the data and information was transferred partially, then the remainder will have to be transferred manually. Relocation depends on many factors and is considered individually, but in general everything should work correctly.

Help with information transfer

If you have any problems with the transfer of information, then you should make sure that the conditions are met correctly and check the following:

  • Until the transfer of data from device to device is completed, in no case should you use them, press something and go somewhere. Even on Android OS, it is not recommended to turn off the application even to answer a call. After all, the procedure takes up a lot of memory, which means it will not continue after the shutdown. Remember that the device must be connected to a power source, to a single Wi-Fi network and left for a while. It is also recommended to enable the "Do not turn off the screen" function in the settings and do not block the device.
  • It is also worth turning off all those programs that can affect the device and boot. Connection optimizers, automatic Wi-Fi point change and so on. It is worth forgetting all the networks that were turned on at home. This is done in case the network weakens a little and the phone decides to connect to a faster network. This will completely stop the download and abort it.
  • If nothing works, then it is worth rebooting both devices, maybe this will help.
  • It is also worth turning off and on your internet connection and then trying again.

other methods

It often happens that Android is too old and does not support the transfer function. There is also the possibility that the person is buying an iPhone 4s. In this case, alternative options are required, which include, for example, cloud storage. Contacts are placed in Google Contacts, they are transferred without any problems. You just need to enable Google account in the main menu. It includes Mail, Phone numbers, calendar, and so on. This works with Twitter and Facebook accounts as well.

It is also possible to store contacts locally and transfer data using the VCF format. This function is enabled in the settings, then we will consider the steps in detail:

  • Step 1. In contacts, the function to export or import contacts is enabled. After that, a function is searched for to transfer an SD card. It is worth writing the name yourself, otherwise it will be difficult to find the file. It is worth remembering that contacts are stored on SIMK. Most likely, it will have to be changed, because the microSIM format is used on the iPhone and iPad. In this case, the data is simply transferred manually one by one.
  • After copying the files, you need to transfer them to the computer where the icloud is launched. It also connects an Apple device to the computer.
  • The settings include the option "Import business card", where you need to specify where the files are stored.
  • After that, the device on iOS is launched and it is checked whether everything has been transferred.

Media transfer methods

There are many other ways to transfer information, let's talk about the most popular and convenient ones.

Cloud storage

If all the music was purchased from the Google Play store, then, of course, it will not be available in iTunes. But iOS has apps from Google that work and are supported very well. There will be access to all the music. Photos are also uploaded using cloud storage like Google Photos or Dropbox ... Google Photos - convenient service, because the memory for storing photos and even videos there is unlimited! That is, photos in this service are stored just endlessly, like videos, only if the video quality is not the highest. However, considering not the largest screens and a good camera, the recording is still good quality, even if you lower it. Having such services, people do not worry about transferring information, changing or losing a device. Indeed, in each device, the most important thing is not its price, but the price of what is stored. Memory, photos, memories and correspondence that you don't want to lose.

Classical information transfer

Transferring photos, videos and music is not so difficult and the classic method. All data is transferred to a computer using a USB device connection. All of them are stored in the corresponding folders in Russian or English, according to the type of music - this is Music and so on.

After that, the information that is needed on the new device is saved. After that, a new device from epl is connected and, by adding to the library in the "File" menu, the multimedia that the user specifies is transferred. The path to the photos is indicated and all that remains is to synchronize the device using the appropriate button.

Another way

If there are not so many files, then it is possible to transfer them without the participation of a computer. We need to send them by mail. This is a lengthy method and not very convenient. However, it is done but at any time, only the presence of the Internet is required. This method is especially good for documents or books, given their small size.

However, using this method it is impossible to transfer applications and sync passwords or tabs, which, of course, is not as convenient as using an official solution from Apple or third-party solutions, which are many in the App Store.

Conclusion

Thanks to modern technologies, it has become much easier and more practical to transfer information from device to device. Now, with the loss of your phone, there is no need to fear that important information will be lost. This also applies to system backups. A handy feature that is available for iOS devices.

Moving files from Android to Android is easy enough. All data can be dropped onto an external micro sd card, and then installed into a new device. Copying personal information from one operating system to another (for example, from Android to iOS) will not work in this way. Let's consider how to transfer user data and files from Android to iPhone or vice versa.

Ways to Move Information from Android to iOS

Copying data between different operating systems can be done in several ways. It all depends on the type of files you want to move. To transport calendar, SMS messages, notes and numbers from the phone book, the easiest way is to use the Move to iOS program or Google virtual storage. To transfer multimedia, a PC and the iTunes application are used or, all the same, a cloud service.

Copying information via Move to iOS

Move to iOS is an official Apple product that allows you to transfer a calendar with all your notes, phonebook contacts and other user data from Android to iPhone or iPad. For a successful transfer, the following conditions must be met:

Before transferring notes, calendar and other data, install the Move to iOS application on your Android phone. This can be done through Google Play or another site. If you download the utility from a third-party source, first check it with an antivirus. The further procedure will be as follows:

  1. Turn on Wi-Fi on both gadgets.
  2. In the new iPhone, during its initial setup, activate the "Transfer data from Android" function. If the smartphone has already been in use, you will need to erase all information and settings from it by starting the appropriate procedure.
  3. Open Move to iOS and agree to the terms of use of the program.
  4. In the "Find the code" window, click "Next", thereby activating the synchronization of mobile devices.
  5. After the application detects the iPhone, a verification code will appear on it. Enter it in the corresponding field.
  6. Check the data that you will transfer and click Next.

After copying is complete, all user information will appear on the new smartphone. It should be noted that you cannot transfer applications from Android to iPhone, so you will need to download them again.

Using Google Cloud Storage

You can transfer calendar, notes and other important information from Android to iPhone through the Google service. This is done as follows:

After copying the information to the virtual disk, it will be available from a computer or other mobile device. Now, to transfer data to iOS, it is enough to link it to the same account. This is done in the "Mail, addresses, calendars" tab. If everything is done correctly, the iPhone will automatically offer to synchronize.

The Google Photo service will help you transfer photos and videos from one phone to another. On Android, this application is standard, but on iOS, you need to download it. To copy, it is enough to bind both smartphones to one account and perform the minimum settings in the Google Photo program itself.

Considering how to transfer a file from Android to iPhone, it should be noted that this procedure can be performed using a computer:

The exact same steps must be followed to download music to iPhone.

Moving data from iPhone to Android

Transferring data from iPhone to Android is done in much the same way as in the reverse order. You can use Google Virtual Drive to copy your phone book, notes and calendar. This is perhaps the easiest way to transfer from iOS to Android, although there are other transportation methods (Dropbox, Outlook, Yandex, etc.).

Many people compare the transition from Android to iPhone and vice versa almost to moving from apartment to apartment, when in fact the problem of transferring data and a damn is not worth it.

Today, the IT market has developed a global confrontation between users of the products of one of the largest companies on the planet Apple with the iOS operating system and those who prefer other brands of phones, on which the Android platform is most often installed.

Often there is a situation when representatives of one of these two warring camps want to taste the "forbidden fruit" - to try to use a device with a different operating system, be it a smartphone or a tablet. What's stopping them? Basically - the fear of moving, associated, as they think, with a huge amount of time it will take to transfer data (contacts, photos, mail, music and movies) from one device to another, running on a different operating system.

In fact, as he notes, the problem is not worth a damn, and recently it has become even easier to solve it than it has ever been.

Migration from Android to iOS

In principle, until September 2015, there were quite affordable tools that did an excellent job of transferring all data from Android devices to Apple products. And now the first official application has appeared, which the developers of the "apple" company have released for the Android operating system.

This application is called ("Transfer to iOS") and, as you might guess, its main and only function is to make a painless move from Android to iOS. To move without problems, you just need to buy a new iPhone and install the Move to iOS application on your old device, launching it before performing the initial settings on the iPhone or iPad.

After launching the application on your Android device, you can start setting up your Apple device. During setup, you will be prompted to move if necessary. Then all that remains is to enter the pin code displayed on the screen of one device into the corresponding line blinking on the screen of the other, and the move starts at full speed.

Interestingly, when migrating, data will not be sent to the cloud or to other servers outside of the room in which the operation is taking place. The devices will communicate with each other via Wi-Fi wireless communication. You just have to wait a little, and all your personal data (photos and videos, messages, Google account data, contacts, calendars and browser bookmarks) will be transferred to the Apple device. Moreover, the application will even analyze all programs installed on Android and, if there are analogues for iOS, install them on your new device.

Migrating from iOS to Android

As difficult as it is to admit Apple, there are users who decide to test an Android device. What should they do in this case?

It's simple. True, instead of one application, you still have to use several. The first of them is the standard client of the Google+ social network, with which you can transfer photos from one device to another. Install this application on iOS, open it, log in with your Gmail account, open the menu, then click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "Camera and Photos". Next, put the switch in the "on" position in front of the "Startup" item. After that, all the photos will be automatically uploaded to the cloud and made available to the Android device that runs under the same Gmail account.

Music can be transferred using the Google program. First you need to go to the Google Play website and download the music download manager. After that, sync your device with iTunes on your computer so that all the music is on your hard drive. Next, we log into the manager with our Google account, and then, in one click, transfer our entire music library from iTunes to Google, as shown in the video instructions below.

To complete the work, you will have to create a Google wallet. But don't worry, the program is free to use, and the wallet will come in handy anyway when you want to buy music on your new device.

The transfer of mail contacts and the archive of letters will occur automatically after you enter the login and password of your Gmail account in the mail client on your new device.

The most difficult stage concerns the transfer of contacts from iOS to Android. To do this, you need to create a special file that will contain all contacts. This can be done using the iCloud cloud service. First you need to go to the device settings, click on the menu item "Mail, contacts, calendars", there in the "Accounts" section we find the inscription iCloud. Open this item and move the switch opposite the "Contacts" item to the "on" position. After that, in a browser on your computer, open the iCloud page (apple.com/icloud), log in, select "Contacts" and use the wheel in the lower left corner to select all contacts and click "Export vCard". The system will offer to save the file to the hard disk, which we do. After that, it will be enough to go to your Gmail mail account in the browser and click the "Mail" item in the upper left corner and select "Contacts" in it. Further in the menu we find the item "Advanced" - "Import" - "Select a file". In the window that opens, select the file that we just saved to disk. After that, the contacts will be automatically saved to Gmail and synced to the Android device.

Apps that were on your Apple device on your new device? will have to be installed manually.

I must say right away that I am not a fan of changing my phone 2-3 times a year in search of something new or for some other reason. For about 5 years I was a happy user of Android phones, until this year I spent 4 with iPhones and now I had to go back. I recently changed jobs and the new place has particularly high security requirements. This affected how workers can access their work email and calendar. It turned out that using corporate software on iOS became easy and simple, while on Android it is annoying and painful. For example, entering an 8-digit complex password every time you try to look at your mail or calendar is a dubious joy. To make it easier for the workers, everyone was simply given an iPhone 7 :) Yes, you can carry both devices with you, but this is not for me. At first I did so, but as a result, I increasingly left my beloved OnePlus 5 in my backpack.

As I said, I used to have apple phones - iPhone 3, then 4 (I couldn't get enough of them) and the last one was 5. So, what did I notice 5 years later?

Which was a pleasant surprise.
Widgets.
Finally! It was high time and it was not clear how they lived without it. Hurray, comrades. They even did it, as in the old KitKat (4.4.), When it was possible to get to them from the lock-screen. It's a pity, just not all widgets load information quickly, or they start loading it only when the widget curtain is open. I hope this will be finished.

Search.
You can now find the bald devil on the phone. Write \ ”Ass \” and feel free to find Assistive Touch, which lies in the *** tse of the settings. It's as easy to use as spotlight search on a Mac. On android (at least on the stock pixel or oneplus launcher), the search options are much more modest.

Screenshots.
On modified firmware (EMUI or Oxygen OS) this issue has long been resolved, but stock Android still does not allow you to quickly take a screenshot and carry out a couple of elementary manipulations (draw something, circle, add text or set a magnification). What's more, on iOS, you'll get a clever suggestion to delete a picture after you've sent it somewhere. And rightly so. There is no need to clutter up the already stupid Camera Roll in the iPhone. A trifle, but nice.

Screen size.
As you remember, I got the iPhone 7. It is awesome in my jeans pocket and does not try to fall out (which has already happened with my Oneplus 5 once). The screen is not as small as in SE and you don't need to squint to read texts and watch pictures. It would be 5 "like the first Pixel - it would be ideal.

Music player on lockscreen.
Now there you can adjust the volume and move the slider, scrolling through the track. For comparison, on Android 8 we have a nice colored notification and only play / pause and rewind buttons. The first time I catch myself thinking that I have found a solution in Android, which is \ "beautiful, but not smart \".

What didn’t like.
Multitasking.
Nothing has improved here, while Android has gone ahead. I'm talking about a cool feature of quickly switching between the last 2 applications, starting with Android 7. It's super convenient when you need to look into both applications at once, for example, when you dial the phone number that is originally in the photo (that is, you simply cannot copy the text).

Buttons.
They have to be pressed here much more often than in Android. It is not easy to do without pressing Home, but there is a taptic engine and it is \ "more fun \" than a regular button. But the volume buttons (and sometimes you have to press them) and power buttons are much tougher than on most phones. Apparently, the guys from Apple really wanted to avoid backlash. I'm not against the slight backlash of the OnePlus 5 buttons, but the tactile sensations are much more pleasant.

Lack of headphone jack.
Here, I think, everything is clear. I did buy wireless ears and it is, of course, convenient. Apple is kind of forcing us to move to a new standard. And here I was with the old one. Now I'm just wondering what will happen next with this trend.

Third party keyboards.
They seem to be there, but in iOS they are not allowed everywhere or something. I put my favorite Gboard for swipe typing. I was already glad that I have an almost full-fledged Googlephone :) But if you have a fingerprint set for unlocking, then from the lockscreen you can respond to notifications, but only with the stock system keyboard. This is how Apple monitors security and does not let any installed keyboards on the locked screen.

Google search.
It was expected that launching the Google application and the search itself would not be as lightning fast as clicking on the search bar from the launcher on an Android device. But as if the iPhone 7 is not a super ancient phone, so as not to respond faster. Most likely, this is a defect of Google itself.

I understand perfectly well that the moments that I wrote about are not the cornerstone. Not something that will cause a person to drop everything and switch (or not switch) to a new OS. But if you have been thinking for a long time, looking closely, twirling new devices in your hands and thinking to be or not to be and are already by a hair's breadth from making a decision, then my little post may be good for you.
