What are the ways to solve your problem? Depending on your needs, you can choose one or another option:
- the easiest way is to use the functionality of your operating system. If you rarely need to take a screenshot, this method will suit you - it is the simplest and does not require additional time-consuming downloading applications or browser add-ons.
- it is also easy to use the services of sites that can create a scan of a page on the Internet for you and you just have to download the picture to your computer. The unconditional disadvantage of this method is that a snapshot can be obtained exclusively from a page on the Internet, and, for example, a desktop cannot be removed by this method.
- download the program to your computer, or download an add-on for the browser, which will allow you to take many pictures in a form convenient for you. If you need to take a photo of the screen often, it would be best to use this opportunity and install a software that is convenient for you.
The easiest way
Of course, the simplest thing is to use the keyboard. If you do not know about the print screen, then you will probably like this method, because it is very simple and does not require additional software to be installed. That is, below we will consider methods that include downloading additional add-ons for the browser and even entire programs for scanning the working window, but if you need a quick way, the easiest way is to use PrintScreen.
PrintScreen (also PrtScr or Print Scrn) is a button on the keyboard that allows you to take a screenshot of the monitor screen and write it to the clipboard.
How to make a print screen? The sequence of actions is different for different operating systems.
For Windows PC Owners
- find the key on the keyboard Print screen(it may be called PrtScr or PrintScrn depending on the model and is more often located in the upper right corner)
- press it - the print screen of the page will be saved to the clipboard (part of the computer's RAM)
- now, to use an image - save it or transfer it to someone - you need to use any image editor. The editor is installed by default in Windows OS Paint, so I will describe the sequence of actions for it. After pressing the key PrintScreen, open Paint (Start Button - All Programs - Accessories - Paint)
- in the working window of the program, use the sequence of buttons "Edit" - "Paste" (or just press the key combination "Ctrl + V" on your keyboard)
- the resulting image can be formatted using the functionality of the program, or simply saved using the sequence of buttons "File" - "Save as", and select the location where to save the file (you can also use the key combination "Ctrl + S" to save).
For Mac Users
- use the keyboard shortcut "Cmd + Shift + 3"
- if you have default system settings, the snapshot will be saved in PNG format on your computer desktop
For Android phones
- phones, of course, do not have a PrintScreen button, but removing the screen is not difficult. Starting with Android 4.0, you need to simultaneously press and hold the Power button and the Volume button. The image will be saved in the appropriate folder.

If you are not satisfied with the prospect of making a screen through the keyboard, you can use additional software or add-ons for your browser. Fortunately, in our time there are many programs with similar functionality, and you can choose the best of them.
- Snagit from Techsmith- one of the best programs for capturing a monitor image. Convenient and simple, there is a version for Windows and for Mac. Its disadvantage is that it is not free (there is a trial version for 15 days, so use it for your pleasure. You can purchase it after the end of the test period, if the functionality suits you).
- FastStone Capture Is another good program, one of the FastStone products that has a lot of image editing software. Windows only. By the way, FastStone Image Viewer (graphics editor) has a wide functionality, which includes screen capture.
- Paparazzi! Is a simple free application for macOS. Not a bad alternative to Snagit if you don't want to spend money.
We use the functionality of other sites
It is also a simple method that does not require the installation of additional software on a computer. If you need to get an image of a site, you can take a screenshot of the site online using the functionality of another site, fortunately, there are a lot of such sites now. Allows you to receive web shots in JPG or PNG formats. Enter the webpage address, configure the settings, and click OK.

It works on the same principle.
Another option for the web service is to create a screen by copying the link circled in a red rectangle in our example, replacing the site address from the example with your URL.

You need to open the required web page, click on the photo icon and enter the download folder, where the screen has already been automatically recorded.
Browser extensions
These are Joxi, Qsnap, Lightshot and others. The corresponding software is installed on the computer. Then, holding down the CTRL button and scrolling the mouse wheel, zoom out the page until it completely fits on the screen. Click the button corresponding to each plugin. For example, for Joxi it is the bird in the upper right corner of the browser.
Select the required area of the screen for the screen, take pictures and download the result.
How to make a quick screen
Is it possible to make screenshots without installing various programs and without going to third-party websites? What if you don't have the Internet?

On a conventional keyboard, it is usually at the top, closer to the right corner. When you click it, a snapshot of the page will be copied to the windows clipboard i.e. if you need to take a screenshot of the screen, just press this key, everything is simple. Another thing is how to get it from there, this is also not difficult and is done with the help of some program for working with images. The easiest and most affordable way to do this is using the well-known Paint. Open the program, and click the "Paste" button, then "Paste content from the clipboard" and your snapshot appears.
Here you can edit the image, change something (let's say the size) and save it in a place convenient for you.

In the latest versions of OS (Windows operating systems), a handy tool called "Scissors" has appeared, it is in Windows 7 and in Windows Vista. It's in Start> All Programs> Accessories> Scissors. Unlike creating a screenshot of a site, you cannot make a screenshot of a site using the operating system. More precisely, it is possible, but rather problematic and for a long time. The main difficulty here lies in the fact that the vertical page size of any site often exceeds the resolution of the monitor screen, and to get a snapshot of the entire page, you will need to manually “glue” individual screenshots in one of the graphic editors.
But you can do it easier and use one of the programs or services for creating screenshots of the site page, a brief overview of which will be made later.

It is a small utility that is installed on a computer running one of the Windows operating systems.
