If you are not interested in Yandex Launcher and you still want to download exactly the outdated shell for your Android, Yandex.Shell is a convenient and intuitive interface that makes working with devices easier and more enjoyable, works on Android up to version 5.1.

It takes very little time to set up the screens. The interface can automatically distribute widgets and program icons. A 3D carousel helps you switch between screens.
Useful widgets can be placed on one screen - one glance will be enough for you to be aware of current city events, weather and traffic conditions.
Search for programs searches not only for phone data and installed applications, but also in the application store.
The Yandex.Shell address book contains phone numbers of organizations. Just type "restaurant" for example, and the built-in search will show the phone number and address of a nearby restaurant. When you get a call from an unfamiliar number, Shell will check the presence of this number in the database. If the number belongs to an organization, you will see its name.

In addition to widgets, on some Yandex.Shell desktops, you can place shortcuts and folders, name them whatever you want, and fill them with applications.

You can change the size of each folder, from the smallest, with tiny icons of the applications present in it, to medium and large, with enlarged icons and captions under each of them. In addition, application icons can be sorted into folders so that you can launch the most frequently used applications without opening the folder itself.

Quick navigation through the desktops is carried out using the slider located in the center of the bottom of the screen. At the same time, a three-dimensional carousel appears, which allows you to quickly switch between available desktops. You can edit, delete and add desktops.

In order to call the mode of adding or removing desktops, you need to click on the central button located at the bottom of the screen, and then click on the lower right button. After that, you will see like a broken chain of desktops. By dragging any of them down, you can remove the desktop from the carousel, and by moving one of the desktops at the bottom up, you will add another panel.

The user himself can arrange the necessary icons on the screen, in addition, it is possible to combine them into folders. So, it is possible to install a news feed, social network data, weather, traffic jams in the city and more on the screen. Interestingly, the application is installed on the phone with its address and phone book, that is, when you enter the word "bank" in the search box, Yandex will give the address of the nearest institution and its phones.

Also, Yandex.Shell automatically searches the Play Store for the necessary updates. If an unknown subscriber calls the phone, a check is made in the application's phone book, and upon identification, you can see on the screen the name of the organization from which the call comes.

Of the minuses of the program, it is worth noting the automatic installation of all the main Yandex programs - the navigator, roads, news, and others. Although, on most phones, they are installed along with the installation of the Android operating system, so this is not a big problem.

One of the main novelties is the “endless” address book. It is “endless” because it allows you to find phone numbers not only of people you added yourself, but also of organizations - for example, restaurants, hotels, bank branches. You just need to write "bank", the address book will show you the number of the nearest one, one click - and you are already in touch.

"Endless" address book will reduce the number of calls from unknown numbers. If you receive a call from such a number, Yandex.Shell will quickly ask if it is in the database of organizations. And even if you received a call for the first time, say, from the library, you will see its name in the call log.

Organization of the desktop in the new Shell is now easier and more convenient: widgets and panels are located to the left of the main screen, applications are to the right.
