Download new drivers for Windows 10. The best programs to automatically update Windows drivers

Drivers are required for all devices and components connected to the computer, as they ensure stable and correct operation of the computer. Over time, developers release new versions of drivers with corrections of previously made errors, so it is recommended to periodically check for updates for already installed drivers.

Working with drivers in Windows 10

You can install or update Windows 10 drivers either using third-party programs or using standard methods already built into the system. The second option does not require much effort and knowledge. All actions with the drivers will be performed in the device manager, which can be accessed by right-clicking on the "Start" menu and selecting the "Device Manager" application.

In the "Start" menu, select the item "Device Manager"

You can also navigate to it from the Windows search bar by opening the application suggested in the search result.

Open the "Device Manager" program found in the "Search" menu

Preparing for installation and upgrade

There are two ways to install and update: manual and automatic. If you choose the second option, then the computer itself will find all the necessary drivers and install them, but it will need stable Internet access. Also, this option does not always work, since the computer often does not cope with the search for drivers, but it's worth a try.

Manual installation requires you to find, download and install drivers yourself. It is recommended to search for them on the websites of device manufacturers, guided by the name, unique number and version of drivers. You can view the unique number through the dispatcher:

Installing and Updating the Driver

New drivers are installed over the old ones, so updating and installing drivers is one and the same. If you are updating or installing drivers due to the fact that the device has stopped working, then you should first uninstall the old driver version so that the error from it does not transfer to the new one:

  1. Expand the Hardware Properties and select the Driver page.

    Go to the "Driver" tab

  2. Click the Uninstall button and wait while the computer finishes the cleaning process.

    Click on the "Delete" button

  3. Returning to the main list of the dispatcher, open the context menu for the device and select the item "Update drivers".

    We select the function "Update driver"

  4. Choose one of the update methods. It is better to start with automatic, and only if it does not work, proceed to the manual update. In the case of an automatic check, you will only need to confirm the installation of the found drivers.

    Choosing a manual or automatic update method

  5. When using manual installation, specify the path to the drivers you downloaded in advance to one of the folders on your hard drive.

    Specifying the path to the driver

  6. After successfully searching for drivers, wait until the procedure is completed and restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

Each driver has its own certificate, which confirms its authenticity. If the system suspects that the driver being installed does not have a signature, it will prohibit working with it. Most often, unofficial drivers do not have signatures, that is, they are not downloaded from the official website of the device developer. But there are times when the driver certificate is not found in the licensed list for another reason. Please note that installing unofficial drivers may cause the device to malfunction.

To bypass the ban on installing unsigned drivers, follow these steps:

  1. Restart your computer, and as soon as the first boot signs appear, press the F8 key on your keyboard several times to go to the special mode selection menu. In the list that appears, use the arrows and the Enter key to activate the safe mode of operation.

    We select the safe mode of inclusion in the "Menu for additional boot options for Windows"

  2. Wait for the system to boot into safe mode and open a command prompt using administrator rights.

    Run the command line as administrator

  3. Use the command bcdedit.exe / set nointegritychecks X, where X is on to deactivate the check and off to re-enable the check if ever needed.

    We execute the command bcdedit.exe / set nointegritychecks on

  4. Restart your computer so that it turns on in the normal state, and proceed to install unsigned drivers.

    Reboot the computer after all the changes

Working with drivers through third-party applications

There are many applications that allow you to search and install drivers automatically. For example, you can use the Driver Booster application, which is distributed free of charge, supports Russian and has an intuitive interface. By opening the program and waiting while it scans your computer, you will receive a list of drivers that can be updated. Select the ones you would like to install and wait for Driver Booster to finish updating.

Installing drivers via Driver Booster

Some companies, most often large ones, release their own applications designed to install proprietary drivers. These applications are highly targeted, which makes them more likely to find the correct driver and install it. For example, Display Driver Uninstaller, an official application for working with video cards from NVidia and AMD, is distributed on their website for free.

Deactivating automatic updates

By default, Windows independently searches for drivers and their new versions for built-in and some third-party components, but it is known that the new version of drivers is not always better than the old one: sometimes updates do more harm than good. Therefore, the driver update must be monitored manually, and the automatic check should be deactivated.

Disable updates for one or more devices

  1. If you do not want to receive updates for only one or several devices, then you will have to close access for each of them separately. After launching the device manager, expand the properties of the desired component, in the window that opens, open the "Details" tab and copy the unique number by selecting the "Equipment ID" line.

    Copy the device ID in the device properties window

  2. Use the Win + R keyboard shortcut to launch the Run shortcut program.

    We hold down the key combination Win + R to call the "Run" command

  3. Use the regedit command to get into the registry.

    Run the regedit command, click OK

  4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ DeviceInstall \ Restrictions \ DenyDeviceIDs. If at some stage you realize that some section is missing, then create it manually so that, in the end, you will go to the above path to the DenyDeviceIDs folder.

    We follow the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ DeviceInstall \ Restrictions \ DenyDeviceIDs

  5. In the last folder, DenyDeviceIDs, create a separate initial parameter for each device, for which drivers should not be automatically installed. Name the items you create as numbers, starting with one, and use the previously copied hardware IDs in their values.
  6. When finished, close the registry. Updates will no longer be installed on blacklisted devices.

    Create string parameters with values in the form of equipment ID

Disable update for all devices at once

If you want none of the devices to receive new driver versions without your knowledge, then go through the following steps:

  1. Launch Control Panel through the Windows search bar.

    Open the "Control Panel" through the Windows search

  2. Select the "Devices and Printers" section.

    Open the "Devices and Printers" section in the "Control Panel"

  3. Find your computer in the list that opens and right-click on it to open the Device Installation Settings page.

    Open the "Device Installation Settings" page

  4. In the expanded window with parameter settings, select the value "No" and save the changes. Now Update Center will no longer look for device drivers.

    When asked whether it is necessary to install updates, select "No"

Solving problems with installing drivers

If the drivers are not installed on the video card or any other device, giving an error, then you need to do the following:

  • make sure the drivers you are installing are supported by the device. It may already be outdated and does not support the drivers provided by the developer. Read carefully which models and versions the drivers are intended for;
  • remove and reinsert the device. It is advisable to return it to another port, if possible;
  • restart your computer: this may restart broken processes and resolve the conflict;
  • install all available updates on Windows, if the system version does not match the latest available - the drivers may not work because of this;
  • change the method of installing drivers (automatic, manual and through third-party programs);
  • remove the old driver before installing the new one;
  • if you are trying to install a driver from .exe format, then run it in compatibility mode.

If none of the solutions above resolves the problem, contact the technical support of the device manufacturer, listing in detail the methods that did not solve the problem.

Open the section "Updates and Security"

  • Being in the "Update Center" sub-item, click on the "Check for Updates" button.

    In the "Windows Update" click on the "Check for Updates" button

  • Wait for the verification process to complete. Provide a stable internet connection to your computer throughout the entire procedure.

    We start to restart the computer so that the updates are installed

  • Wait while the computer installs the drivers and tweaks them. Done, now you can get to work.

    What to do if error 28 appears

    Error code 28 appears when drivers are not installed for some devices. Install them to get rid of the error. It is also possible that the drivers already installed are out of date or out of date. In this case, update or reinstall them after removing the old version. How to do all this is described in the previous paragraphs of this article.

    Remember to install and update drivers to keep all devices and components of your computer running smoothly. You can work with drivers both using standard Windows tools and using third-party programs. Remember that new driver versions will not always have a positive effect on the operation of the device, there are cases, albeit very rarely, when updates cause a negative effect.

    Drivers for Windows 10 are like air for you. Functioning is impossible without them. And despite the fact that after installing the OS it works, it will definitely not be possible to call this work comfortable and stable. And if you want to establish all the processes in the system, you just need to download the driver.

    These are system utilities that get installed and then run silently. Because of this, many users forget how important they are. And this is not just "speeding up" the work, it is precisely its debugging. Indeed, without the software installed on time, you can even kill your computer. For example, the mother card will burn out, or other problems will occur. A simple conclusion follows from this - even if you are not eager to install add-ons, you still have to do it.

    As we constantly repeat, you shouldn't install something that you will not use into the system. This will only complicate her work and you will need it. But this is all true only for full-fledged software. If we are talking about auxiliary software, then its quantity is no longer important, its quality is important. You must "cover" all the components that are installed in your system unit. It's as simple as possible. It is enough to create a "checklist", for example:

    • Video card;
    • Motherboard;
    • Etc;

    Then select auxiliary software by components. If you missed something, be sure to come back. This is important even if the system itself installed the necessary without your participation. Microsoft claims that its products can now do this. We have checked and this is only partially true. In practice, they often install obviously outdated versions or skip some components altogether. To prevent this, you have two ways:

    • Manually check all information;
    • Use specialized software;

    The latter is not just an option for the lazy. This option is the main one for all experienced users of Windows 10. After all, manually you cannot collect 100% relevant information. And even if you master it, it will become outdated very quickly and you will have to update again and spend time on it.

    How to install drivers on Windows 10

    To install, just download the installation package. All these tools are installed in the same way as a regular program. There is no difference in this regard. But there are differences in what happens after. As a rule, no shortcut on the desktop or new functionality appears. After all, such software is responsible for the internal kitchen.

    We recommend considering the issue as a whole. If you are thinking "need to download a driver for the Internet" or "for music", then you need to look at the components. For example, to a network card or sound card. That is, always remember that the components that need you to install Drivers are responsible for the operation of certain functions on the PC.

    To make it easier for you, we are posting not just a link to one package, but a universal utility Driver Pack Solution. It includes a base of 10+ GB of useful files. In addition, it will allow you to install everything you need in automatic mode.

    Drivers for Windows 10 are essential programs. During the installation of the new Windows 10 operating system that appeared, many had various questions and some difficulties. First of all, this concerned problems with the functioning of certain components. Also another common complaint is that some options are missing in the settings of this system. Such problems can be quickly resolved by installing the necessary drivers.

    This is due to the fact that not all old personal computers and equipment for them support the tenth version of the Windows system (64 bit). Because of this, the new drivers did not change the ones that were installed earlier. The manufacturers of such software took this into account and released new universal programs from Microsoft. However, they will not always work. In this case, you can use special software packages that must be installed correctly.

    What are drivers for Windows 10?

    A driver is a piece of software that prepares the entire computer and tells it how to handle this or that software or device. For example, a person has purchased a new webcam for a personal computer. When he returns home and connects this device to the computer, the system will automatically detect the presence of a new device and start installing it.

    No problem arises in this case.

    However, the chosen equipment is not always suitable the first time. For example, if its manufacturer is less well-known, then sometimes some difficulties arise. In this case, the system tries to automatically find drivers for Vin 10. If this fails, then Windows will show that you need to manually find such software, but first you have to look for them yourself. As a rule, you can easily find the necessary programs on the websites of equipment manufacturers and developers.

    In general, drivers are essential software for the proper operation of all hardware. They are used:

    • sound, network and video cards;
    • keyboards, mice, etc.;
    • printers and scanners;
    • cameras;
    • file system support;
    • devices that are designed to store information.

    This is just a small part of where the drivers are needed. They increase the performance of the entire Windows system, enable the operating system to work with other devices and software.

    Many people think that you can download all the necessary drivers for the Windows 10 operating system. You can easily find them on other resources. First, if you need universal programs from companies that develop operating systems, then you need to follow the link to the official Microsoft website.

    After that, in the tabs, you need to select the page with the list of drivers.

    In addition, all the necessary programs can be found in the section about updates. Secondly, if you need to find programs for certain devices and equipment, then you should go to the websites of the manufacturers of these devices. Further on these sites you should find sections with support, drivers and other things. After that, you have to choose your hardware, find the model, version and choose the Windows 10 operating system.

    It should be borne in mind that downloading such programs that are required for the full-fledged operation of the components are relied upon only from those sites of the companies that are their developers. In this case, they will not provoke the appearance of viruses on the computer. In addition, they are designed specifically for Windows 10, so it's best not to look for other options.

    In addition, you need to know what drivers are most likely to be needed for Windows 10 to work. They may not be required, however, in some cases problems arise, so it is better to know all the necessary drivers in advance. For example, you may need Microsoft.NetFamework 3.5 - 4.6, TXE, an audio driver, programs for power management, for a touchmad, for a card reader, for USB, and so on.

    Most popular driver packages

    Now there are many driverpacks to improve system performance. One of the most interesting is Driver Pack Solution 17.7.56 Final. It is considered the most famous package, which contains only the latest developed versions of drivers, which are put together. Driver Pack Solution 17.7.56 Final will help you install all the necessary programs on your computer, not only automatically, but also manually. Perfect not only for personal computers, but also for laptops, and any models. Installation will take no more than 5 minutes, so you no longer have to search for different drivers separately.

    In addition, everything is done automatically.

    Driver Scanner 2017 4.1.1.1 Final is another available option with new versions of programs released by a well-known software developer. The software that is compiled in this package contains all the necessary programs that everyone may need. Such a package is really a necessary tool for the full operation of the system. Driver Scanner 2017 4.1.1.1 Final will help you find and download all the new versions you need. In addition, it will independently scan the entire system and find outdated programs.

    NVIDIA GeForce 382.53 WHQL is another interesting driver package from a well-known developer company. Here are the key points for optimizing system performance, thereby reducing boot and response times of the entire system. In addition, in many games, not only speed is improved, but also performance. All drivers were released in early June 2017, so they are up to date. Such a package is suitable not only for 10 Windows, but also for the seventh and eighth.

    NVIDIA GeForce 382.05 WHQL is another latest version.

    All drivers are dated early May, so they are also great for improving the performance of various systems.

    Intel Chipset Device Software 10.1.2.84 WHQL is a driver package version that will delight many PC users. In addition, you can still use the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver R2.81 Final. This package is suitable for audio devices.

    You can install drivers for the tenth version of the Windows system in two ways - manually and programmatically automatically. Both of these options are popular, but it must be borne in mind that they have certain features that must not be forgotten.

    When manually installing software, you first need to download everything you need to your own computer. After that, you need to perform the following actions:

    1. Right-click on the "Start" button. After that, select the item called "Task Manager".
    2. After these steps, a new dialog box will open that contains the list. For example, in it you can select the item with the video adapter. After that, right-click on the "Driver Update" function.
    3. Then the wizard will start to install such software. After that, you can select the "Perform a search on this computer" option.
    4. Now all that remains is to wait for the system to independently find all the necessary programs and load them. There is also an option with an independent prescription of the address for this software.
    5. Then the programs will start to install.

    In addition, a second method is distinguished - the software one. Its name is due to the fact that the drivers for Windows in this case will be installed using specially developed programs.

    Among them, the most popular are Driver Booster and Slim Drivers.

    In addition, you can still use software such as Driver Pack Solution. In this case, the installation process will be slightly different. Here is the sequence of actions:

    1. First, you have to download the selected program.
    2. After that, you need to start it and wait while it analyzes the functioning of the entire system and its individual components. Then the software will find drivers that have already become outdated, so they need to be updated. Also, the program will find those that are not on the computer, however, they are required. After that, all that remains is to start the "Install" button to start the process. By the way, you can independently choose which drivers need to be installed and which, in the user's opinion, will not be needed.
    3. When all programs are already installed, you need to restart your computer.

    In addition, an important issue is also updating the software for components when using the Windows 10 system.

    Before you begin this task, be aware that Microsoft has created several generic type drivers.

    Now you can proceed with the following actions:

    1. Click on the "Start" button with the right mouse button. From the selected list, you must select the "Device Manager" option again. You need to select an element that has a yellow triangle. This indicates that the driver itself is either not installed or corrupted. Now right-click and select the "Driver Update" function from the pop-up list.
    2. In the new dialog box, you must select the function "Automatic search". After that, a direct search for the required software on the network begins.
    3. After the software is loaded on the computer, the utility will install it.
    4. In the end, all that remains is to restart the computer.

    Conclusion

    If Windows 10 is installed, drivers will also have to be installed. They will help to cope with the problem of the absence of certain options in the settings or with malfunctions in the operation of components. Now the developers have released special programs for the tenth version of the Windows system with 64-bit indicators.

    If you have all the necessary drivers installed on your PC, you can download and install any commercial and, run any games (corresponding to the system requirements), use the hardware configuration resources at 100%, use connected external devices (webcam, copier, printer, scanner , sound card).

    What drivers can be downloaded for Windows 10 on the website?

    To equip your PC system with the missing driver, do the following:
    1. 1. Find out which device does not have a shell. Open in OS: My computer? Properties? Device Manager. Review the hardware sections.
    1. 2. Read the technical characteristics of the device for which you need to select the driver (brand, model, modification).
    1. 3 .. Click on the download link.

    After installing the operating system, it's time to pay attention to the installation of drivers. Previously, the user had to do this on his own, but now Windows 10 downloads drivers automatically. If something went wrong, and the drivers were not loaded, you will have to install them yourself the old fashioned way.

    Installing various drivers

    The driver is needed in order to ensure the correct operation of this or that equipment. This stealthy program is responsible for communicating the device with the rest of the computer. Given the huge number of different equipment and the regular release of new ones, no one could ever develop a universal solution to the problems associated with its operation. Therefore, each component of the computer has its own driver.

    Automatically find and install drivers in Windows 10

    You installed the operating system, but for some reason it did not install the drivers for the hardware, although it does have such an option. In this case, there is a way how to "push" the system a little to find and install the necessary drivers. To do this, do the following:

    1. Go to Device Manager. You can do this by typing the word "manager" in the Start menu's search bar. In the search bar enter the word "manager" and open "Device Manager"
    2. You can also open it through the shortcut menu, which on Windows 10 is invoked by the Win + X keyboard shortcut. Open the shortcut menu and select "Device Manager"
    3. See which device drivers you do not have installed. Equipment without a driver will have a yellow symbol with an exclamation mark next to it, and its name will be replaced with the standard designation. Other devices without drivers will not have a name and will be identified as the “base” device. And in some cases, you can immediately guess about the absence of a driver. For example, if there is no sound on the computer, then most likely you need to install a sound driver.
      Exclamation mark means no device driver
    4. Check for a network driver in the Network Adapters section. To install the driver automatically, you need the Internet. This method works if the network driver is already installed. Make sure everything is okay with him and move on to the next step.
      The network adapter driver will let you install the rest of the drivers
    5. Right-click on any device and select the "Update driver" section. Select a device without a driver and click "Update Drivers"
    6. Select "Search automatically for updated drivers."
      Select the option to automatically search for drivers on the Internet
    7. Wait for the end of the search.
      Wait for the driver search to complete
    8. Wait for the driver download to finish.
      Wait while the driver downloads
    9. Wait for the driver installation to complete.
      Wait for the driver installation to complete
    10. After completing the procedure, see if the unknown hardware was detected. If the name of the equipment appears, then the driver is installed successfully
    11. Reboot your computer.
      Accept the offer to restart your computer

    Likewise, you can install or update drivers for all the hardware on your computer one by one.

    Installing the video card driver

    A driver for a video card is required for its correct operation. Without it, it will not be possible to set a high resolution for the monitor, and modern games will not work.

    Before proceeding with the driver update, it is worth finding out which video card you are using. The most common solutions are video cards from Nvidia and Radeon.

    You can find out the exact model using different methods. For example, using the official DirectX utility. Follow these steps:

    Refer to the manufacturer's official website. For example, if your video card is from Nvidia:

    1. Open the official website. In the very first tab "Drivers" select the item dedicated to their download.
      Select the "Drivers" tab and then "Download Drivers"
    2. In a special form, indicate the version of your video card, as well as the bitness of the system.
      Select your version of the video card in the search form
    3. Start downloading the drivers.
      Click the Download Now button to start downloading the driver
    4. Do not touch the unpacking path of the installation file, leaving the default.
      Do not change the default driver installation path
    5. Wait for the files to finish unpacking before installing.
      The driver will be unpacked before installation
    6. Read and agree to the license agreement if you want to proceed with the installation.
      Accept the license agreement before starting the installation
    7. Leave the default installation option.
      Leave the "Express" installation option and click "Next"
    8. Wait for the installation to complete. During this time, the computer screen will blink several times.
      The computer screen will flicker while the graphics driver is being installed
    9. After installation, restart your computer.

    Identifying hardware drivers

    Instead of having to find out which driver is needed separately for each hardware, use the AIDA64 program. It will help you identify the device names, which in turn will allow you to load the correct drivers. Let's figure out how to work in this program using the example of defining a sound adapter:

    1. On the official website of the program, find the "Download" button and click it.
      Download the AIDA64 program from the official website
    2. Select the version to download the program: packed in an archive or as an executable file.
      Select the version of the program and click "Download"
    3. Install (or unpack) the program and run aida64.exe.
      Run the executable file of the program
    4. Wait for the end of the scanning of devices on your computer.
      During startup, AIDA64 will scan your computer
    5. Examine the hardware overview window, in which it will be divided into sections. To determine the sound, it will be enough for us to open the main folder of the computer and then request the summary information.
      Open the tab "Summary Information" in the AIDA64 program
    6. Review the information to help you find the drivers you need later. This is both the motherboard model and the type of CPU. The name of the sound adapter can be seen in the "Multimedia" section.
      You can find the name of your sound adapter in the "Multimedia" section

    Similarly, you can define the names of all your devices. However, some information will still be limited in the free version of the program.

    Video: where to download and how to install AIDA64

    Installing the sound driver

    Before installing the driver, audio hardware will be detected using a standard codec. An inscription like NVIDIA High Definition just means that the driver is not installed.

    Most modern audio devices require a Realtek driver, but installation is not a guess. Find out the name of the card using the method described above. Then head over to the manufacturer's website:

    1. On the official Realtek website, you will see the Downloads item. Click on it. In the upper panel of the site, select "Downloads"
    2. Select "HD Audio Codecs".
      Download High Definition Audio Codecs
    3. Agree with the license agreement and click on the "Next" button.
      Accept the agreement and click "Next"
    4. Select the system version and the site through which the driver will be downloaded. Choose where you want to download the sound driver from
    5. Run the installation file after downloading the driver.
      Run the file you downloaded
    6. Click "Next" until the beginning of the installation process.
      Press the "Next" button to start the installation
    7. Wait for the installation process to complete.
      Wait for the audio driver to finish installing
    8. Restart your computer for the driver to start working.
      When the audio driver is installed, restart your computer

    The driver was installed correctly if:

    Installing the driver for the phone

    Modern phones also require the installation of drivers for correct interaction with the computer. These can be ABD drivers that are used to work with Android-based devices or other drivers specific to a specific phone model.

    These drivers come with the development kit for Android phones. They can help you perform complex actions with your device, fix errors and crashes, access system information and phone control commands.

    ABD drivers are installed with the Android SDK, but they are recommended for advanced users only. If you are carelessly in ADB mode, your phone may be permanently damaged.

    Other drivers for mobile devices

    Finding drivers for a specific phone model is not difficult at all. It is enough to drive the name of your device into the search engine line. Many large companies have their own drivers, for example, Samsung or Xiaomi.

    Model-specific drivers are usually bundled with a small program to manage your phone. With their help, you can upload information from the device to a computer, make installations from a computer via USB, or make a backup.

    You can find a driver for your phone model on the manufacturer's website

    Installing the network driver

    If the network driver has not been installed on your own, without it you will not be able to access the Internet and you will not be able to download not only the drivers of other devices, but also the network adapter driver itself. To fix this, use the following methods:

    By itself, installing this driver is no different from installing any other.

    Printer driver and other external devices

    When looking for a driver for a printer or other device, remember that most likely you have a disk with this driver. No one sells a device these days without the necessary drivers for it to work. But if there is no disk, you can find it on the Internet, just know the name and model of the device.

    It is enough to enter the device name into the search engine to find the driver

    Alternatively, you can use the automatic installation of Windows devices:

    1. Open the classic "Control Panel". To do this, in Windows 10, you need to press Win + X and select the desired item in the quick access bar. Select "Control Panel" from the shortcut menu
    2. Open the "Devices and Printers" section.
      Select the "Devices and Printers" section in the "Control Panel"
    3. Right click on the printer identified as an unknown device and click on "Device installation settings".
      Right click on the connected device and select "Device installation settings"
    4. Choose a silent installation and save your changes.
      Choose automatic installation and accept changes

    You can also install the driver yourself from those available in the "Update Center":

    1. Disconnect your printer (or other device) from the network, and then in the same section "Devices and Printers" click on the "Add Printer" button.
      Select "Add Printer"
    2. Select to add a local printer in the next step.
      Choose to install a local printer
    3. Click Next, as you usually don't need to specify the port.
      After selecting the port, press the "Next" button
    4. Select your printer manufacturer and click Windows Update.
      Select your printer manufacturer and contact Windows Update
    5. Select your model from the list on the right and click "Next".

    6. Set a name for the connected device.
      Give any name to the created printer
    7. Wait until the installation of the driver you have selected is complete.
      Wait for the printer to finish installing
    8. Indicate whether to share this printer.
      Configure sharing settings and click "Next"
    9. Close the program by clicking "Finish".
      Press the "Finish" key after installation
    10. Delete the created device and connect your printer. Since the driver will already be installed, the system will automatically recognize it.
      Delete the printer you created and then connect your device

    Driver installer

    If you don't want to install drivers manually, you can use third-party software. For example DriverPack Solutuion. It has the following advantages:

    • support for all versions of Windows, including different versions of Windows 10;
    • free distribution - the program is completely free;
    • safe use - the developers guarantee that your computer will not be infected with viruses due to their program;
    • search for drivers for a huge number of hardware, regardless of your computer.

    The only major drawback is the fact that some programs are installed together with DriverPack, but you can refuse to install them.

    Open the official website of the program and go to the download section.

    There are two versions of DriverPack. One contains only a small program that loads drivers as needed. The second version weighs much more, because the entire driver database will be loaded with it. The second option is useful if the device on which you want to install the drivers is not connected to the Internet.

    Select the version of the program and download it

    Download the online version to your computer to see how it works. To install drivers using this program, do the following:

    1. Run the program after downloading. It does not need to be installed on the system. Select the manual installation method in the first window.
      Select manual installation of the program
    2. Explore the Drivers tab for a list of drivers that should be installed on your computer right now. It is enough to tick off each of them and confirm the installation.

      It may take a while to install the drivers
    3. During installation, you may receive a warning from the operating system security system. In this case, you are required to confirm the installation of the driver.
      Allow installation of unknown driver in security notification
    4. Once all drivers are installed, close the program. Manual installation was used to prevent additional software from being installed.
      Do not click "Install All" and do not check the boxes for installing software in DriverPack

    The full version of the program with the driver base works a little differently:

    1. Mount the program image to the system. On Windows 10, this can be done through the right mouse button.
      Use the right mouse button to mount the image to the system
    2. Run the program from the image through the autorun file. Or use the automatic download of the mounted image.
      Select the "Autorun" file inside the DriverPack image
    3. In the running program, go to the "Drivers" tab and click on the "Install and update" button.
      Select the "Drivers" tab and click "Install and Update"
    4. A list of drivers required for your hardware appears. Make sure there is nothing superfluous in it, and proceed with the installation.
      Select your drivers, check the creation of a restore point and accept the license agreement before starting the installation
    5. After a long time, all drivers will be installed or updated.
      You can follow the progress of the driver installation

    The DriverPack program will save a lot of time for the user and will allow you to quickly install the necessary drivers after installing Windows 10.
