Apple has not changed the design of its iPad for a long time - if the model is in demand, then you should not resort to any changes. But after the overwhelming success of the iPhone X last year, it looks like the company is set to release an updated version of the iPad Pro “iPad X” in 2018.

Apple has not disclosed the details of the new model, but some information is already starting to appear on the Internet. Most importantly, on the next-generation iPad, the Home button will be located in the same place as on the iPhone and will be integrated into the display.

It's not yet clear where the iPad X will be in the tablet lineup, as Apple has three tablet models: iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad mini.

IPad Pro 2018 release date (iPad X) in Russia (Sales start date)

The most recent iPad Pro models were announced last WWDC on June 5, 2017 and are available for purchase now. Of course, the next announcement should be expected this summer, but we hope that some additional information can be found in the usual spring press release: about the iPad mini 5, and the long-awaited one.

On February 21, the French-language website Consomac reported that Apple has registered two new devices, described as tablets running iOS 11, with the Eurasian Commission's database. The new model identifiers are A1954 and A1893.

This speaks to the imminent announcement of new models, similar to the information about the iPhone 7 and AirPods two weeks before the official release. The introduction of new models in March looks quite likely, but it is not fully known whether it will be a regular press release or a full-scale media event like in 2015 and 2016.

Sources cited by Bloomberg predict, on the other hand, that the new iPads will be released more than a year after the last iPad Pro update. Presumably, this will happen in late summer - early autumn, in August-September 2018. This could mean that the new models, which are expected to be released at the beginning of the year, will be less significant.

What's the price of the new 2018 iPad Pro (iPad X)?

The iPad X is likely to be an impressive gadget, but not cheap either.

IPad Pro 10.5-inch 64GB Wi-Fi starts at £ 619 and Wi-Fi + Cellular starts at £ 749 for the iPad Pro with 12.9-inch screen, 64GB of storage and Wi-Fi - £ 769 and £ 899 for the model with Wi-Fi + Cellular.

Even if the iPad X has a screen size of less than 12.9 inches, you can still expect it to cost closer to the premium model. The approximate price will start at £ 999.

Major design changes for the new 2018 iPad Pro (iPad X)

Apple is expected to bring some design changes to the iPhone X in 2018.

Bloomberg sources suggest that at least one of the new iPad models will feature a full-screen display and will move from Touch ID to Face ID.

The model will have a screen size close to 10.5 inches, but removing the home button will increase the screen size to 11 inches or keep the same by reducing the thickness of the bezel around the screen.

Presumably the screen will not be based on OLED. Perhaps this will happen due to the difficulties in production (and shortages in supplies) when creating screens for the iPhone X.

"Modern iPad"

Speculation about the emergence of the "modern iPad", which was supposedly already in development, appeared after the appearance of the code for the new operating system. Apple already used the definition of "modern iPad" before the iPhone X reports, primarily to differentiate gadgets with full-screen display and Face ID technology from other smartphones released at the same time.

The first photos of the concept iPad Pro 2018 (iPad X) appeared

It's too early to expect photos or factory shots of the new model, but concept drawings are available. It should be understood that the drawings are presented by non-Apple people and represent rumors surrounding the design of the new model.

There are several illustrations of the next iPad Pro by Martin Hayek, which show the gadget with the expected full-screen display, the missing home button and a groove around the screen. He also provided some illustrations of the Apple Pencil in black and silver.

IPad Pro 2018 Specifications and New Features (iPad X)

Let's take a look at the internal changes in the new iPad.

CPU

The latest iPad models are equipped with new A-series chips, which are based on the same architecture as the iPhones introduced last year. For example, the A10 chip integrated into the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has 2 high-performance processor cores, 2 cores, a 6-core GPU, and 3GB of RAM.

Integrated into iPad Pro, the A10X has 3 high-performance processor cores, 3 cores, a 12-core GPU, and 4GB of RAM. Likewise, the new 2018 iPad models are expected to feature the A11X chip based on the A11 Bionic found in the iPhone 8 and iPhone X.

Citing information from Apple suppliers, the Chinese website MyDrivers claims that the A11X chip will have three high-performance processor cores (2 for the A11), 5 cores (4 for the A11), and through TSMC's workflow will be 7nm thick. The A11 chip is 10 nm thick.

It goes without saying that the new chip will have more RAM and more GPU cores. It would be strange if this were not the case.

Should you buy the 2018 iPad Pro (iPad X)?

You must answer this question. Ask yourself the question, for what purpose do you need this iPad? Is this purchase promising and justified? If yes, then Apple technologies will be waiting for you in September of this year, on the counter of the nearest store.

The new iPad Pro tablet was officially unveiled at Apple's October 30 presentation. The tablet turned out to be an exact copy of the model from the iOS 12.1 code, received support for face recognition technology, which turned out to be even more advanced than in the flagship iPhones, a USB-C connector and a second-generation Apple Pencil with gesture support.

The main feature of the iPad Pro that catches your eye when you first look at the tablet is, of course, its display. The stunning 11-inch and 12.9-inch IPS panel with striking bezels is a real admiration for the talent of Apple's engineers. But the main thing is that they managed to make the display absolutely symmetrical, despite the TrueDepth system, which is responsible for face recognition.

The heart of the tablet is the eight-core A12X Bionic processor. It is 90% faster than the previous generation, making it one of the most productive "stones" for personal computers.

Breakdowns in Apple technology are different: it is one thing if water is spilled on the iPhone, and quite another if its screen is smashed to smithereens. Therefore, repairing a smartphone, tablet, laptop or watch is often only slightly cheaper than buying a new device. And now there are often cases when changing a gadget for a new one is more profitable than repairing it in a service center.

A huge number of iPad models have been released for quite some time, and Apple has received a lot of well-deserved praise and criticism, including the lack of a pronounced difference between all tablets. There were only a few Air and Mini versions before the company introduced the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch Pro models.

Fortunately, the iPad hierarchy just got a lot simpler. The 12.9-inch Pro is the most expensive tablet starting at RUR 59,000. and above, and its smaller cousin, the 9.7-inch Pro, costs from 45,000 rubles. The new 9.7-inch iPad starts at RUR 25,000, with the best budget option at RUR 30,000. - good price for a single small 7.9-inch iPad Mini 4.

Just because the new iPad lineup is smaller doesn't mean picking the right model is less of a challenge. What good is a 12-inch screen if you value portability above all else? Why pay more for a top-end graphics chip when you only play heavy games occasionally?

In an attempt to answer these questions and more, we evaluated each iPad from a pragmatic perspective, in an attempt to determine the most appropriate one for any use. This buying guide, in the truest sense of the word, will show you all the pros and cons of each iPad in simple terms. To say that this will lead to your inevitable purchase is to joke - we don't have that goal, but this guide should at least help you choose which Aple iPad to consider and what to avoid.

Budget iPad - iPad 9.7 (from 25,000 rubles)

The last 9.7-inch iPad arrived in March and is one of the most affordable Apple products the company has ever offered. It is the cheapest option in the current iPad lineup since the iPad Mini 2 was discontinued.

This is a great tablet for watching movies, thanks to its 9.7-inch Retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The device has a fast A9 processor and a large battery that can keep the tablet running for up to 10 hours on a single charge. You'll also find an 8MP rear camera, a 1.2MP front-facing camera, dual speakers, a fingerprint sensor with ID Touch technology, Apple Pay support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

With the announcement of the new iPad, Apple also announced that the iPad Air 2 will be discontinued. In fact, there is little difference between the two tablets. The new iPad is 7.5mm thicker than the slender, 6.1mm Air 2. The new model has a faster processor than its sibling and is slightly heavier, but with a larger battery. The iPad 9.7 lacks the processing power for the 12-megapixel camera found on the 9.7-inch Pro versions.

What does this mean in practical terms? Unless you're looking for superb power, playing the latest games, or running extremely demanding apps, the new Apple iPad will do just fine. It fits comfortably in the hand and is ideal for everyday content consumption - reading, watching movies, casual games, etc. But for serious work, it's worth looking at the Pro line.

It's hard to find the best iPad for the money. If budget is the main factor, this tablet is the obvious choice.

Powerful and compact iPad - iPad Mini 4 (from 30,000 rubles)

If you're looking for power in a small form factor, the iPad Mini 4 has it for you. Evolving from the iPad Mini 3, it has taken into account all the shortcomings of its predecessor and even more: it has the same A8 processor as in the iPhone 6, 8-megapixel rear camera, fast Wi-Fi (802.11ac), ID scanner, thinner (6.1 mm) and lightweight (299 g) aluminum body.

The tablet takes a design from the iPad Mini 3, has the same battery life (10 hours), and the same screen resolution (2,048 x 1536 pixels).

The iPad Mini 4 supports all the multitasking features of iOS 9's and is by far the most compelling device to date, allowing you to organize and interact with two applications at the same time. You can copy and paste text from a nearby Wikipedia window into a Word document, or watch a video while replying to an email. (Multiple windows on a small screen can be difficult to maneuver for granted).

The iPad Mini 4 has an 8-megapixel autofocus camera and an improved aperture over the iPad Mini 3, the A8 chip - which also powers the Apple TV - is capable of handling almost any graphics-intensive game.

All in all, the iPad Mini 4 can multitask like a pro, take great pictures, and play the latest games. If these prospects are exciting, go for it - buy it. But if they don't, and you want the same features in a larger package, consider buying an iPad off the top shelf.

Elephant in the room - iPad Pro 12.9 (from 59.000 rubles)

The iPad Pro is Apple's largest tablet at 12.9 inches. It is thick and hefty, about 6.9mm thick and weighs about 700g.

The device justifies performance and functionality, and our experiences support those claims. The iPad Pro 12.9's display is a whopping 2,732 x 2,048 pixels, more than any iPad, and is powered by an A9X processor, a beefed-up version of the A9, paired with 4GB of RAM.

The tablet is well-equipped externally: massive four speakers, an ID touch sensor, an 8-megapixel camera, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi with LTE connectivity. It is a multi-tasking monster.

Powerful hardware is only a fraction of the best in Pro. Real value in the allegedly offered accessories. There's a Smart Keyboard with attached QWERTY keys, and a much more interesting Apple iPad stylus.

This is Apple's first attempt at a stylus, and the company has touted its superiority over competing models in pressure sensitivity (it can distinguish between hard and light pressure) - the battery lasts up to 12 hours.

The Pro version can come with improved performance as well as additional services such as dual stereo speakers and a touch ID scanner. But the device is not for everyone, Pro is the most expensive iPad with a base price of 59,000 rubles. Its huge screen is as inevitably awkward as it is bulky - it will be difficult to use it on the subway or airplane. The tools and performance really make it the best, but Apple will have to fork out extra for the smart keyboard and stylus.

The big Apple Pro is built for a very specific market: businesses and corporate users who might otherwise be influenced by equivalent PCs like Microsoft's Surface. That's not to say that its features don't appeal to the average consumer, but if you're not willing to put up with the very large 12.9-inch size, it's worth considering a more portable option.

Best of All - iPad Pro 9.7 (Rs. 45,000)

Perhaps Apple realized that giant tablets really don't fit the vast majority of people. The smaller version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro - the 9.7-inch iPad Pro - will sweetly blow your mind. It is largely identical, although smaller than its predecessor. The 9.7-inch model has the same A9X processor as its big brother, along with the same multi-speaker array and a Retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.

The tablet is compatible with many, if not all, 12.9-inch accessories, including the Apple Pen and Smart Keyboard.

The small iPad Pro uses only half of the RAM - 2GB from a colleague, but comes with improved cameras in the form of a 12MP rear shooter and a 5MP sensor on the front. Overall, the differences are minor. Empirically, you get the same technology from last year's iPad Pro in a lighter version.

For most people, there is no danger. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro not only has better portability, but also better processing capabilities, plus the added benefit of being compatible with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro's accessories. I am glad that the price of the tablet has slightly risen in comparison with the iPad 2 Air.

Outcome

There is no, as we said at the beginning, the perfect iPad. The new iPad 9.7 lacks a top processor; The iPad Mini 4 is the only compact choice; and the 12-inch iPad Pro is a bit big. But, all iPad tablets are better suited for most users than others.

Want a cheap, relatively uncompromising iPad? The standard 9.7-inch iPad is a great option. Want a top line that can fit in your portfolio? Go for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

Ultimately, when it comes time to make a purchasing decision, we always reserve some hands-on time. Whether you buy an iPad from your local M. Video or Apple Store, you always get a strong all-round device. Apple tablets aren't the cheapest investment, so weigh your options carefully.

Or buy your iPad and enjoy.

2. Then click on "Settings".

4. The next step is to click "About" (About). And in the line "Model" (Model) will display the model number of the device.

How does an iPad differ from an iPod?

Since Apple has recently begun to release a large number of its products, for example, iPad, iPod and iPhone, many people get confused in their heads. If an iPhone is, of course, a phone, then an iPod and an iPad, which differ in only one letter, can be confused.

Let's figure out what is the difference between iPod and iPad, which models of both devices are more similar to each other.

The world-famous Apple company, in addition to gadgets, produces computers and laptops, but, unfortunately, you cannot take them with you or put them in your pocket because of their bulky dimensions. Therefore, we combined a computer and a phone in one small device and created an iPad with which you can work, read books, communicate, take pictures, listen to music, watch videos and much more.

The iPod can only listen to and store music, view videos and pictures. There is no camera on it. It is also called a media player by the common people.

Also, both devices differ in size: the iPad is much larger and thinner than the iPod. Although now the player is being made thin. The amount of memory also has a big difference: the tablet has memory from 16 to 256 GB, and the player is only 2-4 GB and you can still insert a memory card.

The iPod can be without a screen (only one buttons), with a screen and buttons, and with a touch screen. The price, of course, is also different. The iPad consists entirely of a screen and one Home button, and the price is also different. The newer and more powerful, the higher the cost.

Today, the "Yablochnaya" company produces a fairly large number of its products with different price categories, that every second has this or that product of a well-known brand.
