Construction and circuitry

The circuit diagram of the DRS-5001 receiver is located on several boards:

DRE Crypt hardware decoder. Judging by outward appearance(pictured), the hardware decoder of the tested receiver has a different electrical circuit and a set of components in comparison with the same unit used in the DRE-4000 / DRE-5000 receivers;
front panel indication and commutation board.
Due to the horizontal arrangement of the RF modulator tuner unit and the decoder board, the DRS-5001 receiver is housed in a relatively low case.
The control circuit of the SCART connectors of the device under test is designed for the possibility of transit switching electrical signals supplied to the AUX interface. The receiver supports transmission of input and output signals for all video formats: composite, component, matrix (RGB) through this connector. Various AV equipment (VCR, DVD player, game console).
The DRS-5001 receiver is equipped with a 37-button remote control of the same design as that of the DRE-5000 receiver. The operation of remote control commands that call special service subscribers of the Tricolor TV package (TV Chat and TV Mail). These services are called using the "*" and "#" buttons, respectively.

System settings and channel search
The OSD-setting interface of the DRS-5001 is practically the same as that of the DRE-5000. The initial setup procedure is simplified through the use of the Wizard-installation. conditions of "parental" access. You can select the level age limit viewing mode (from 4 to 18 years old in increments of 1) or full access;
event timers. Up to 32 non-overlapping timers can be set. The event reservation service (timer activation) via EPG is supported.

The DRS-5001 receiver allows you to use a variety of reception antenna systems:

The pre-installed list of satellites contains an updated and current list of transponders and broadcast parameters for various packages at the time of testing. Supports four types automatic search(fast, complete, network, "Tricolor TV") greatly simplifies the setup of the receiver. Testing has shown that the DRS-5001 receiver can be used to receive both low-speed and high-speed digital packages with a range of flow rates from 2.2 to 45 Msimv / s. It turned out, however, that the DRS-5001 receiver sometimes does a poor job of detecting signals of some broadcast packets. This problem was found in the manual and automatic search modes for packets broadcast from various satellites. In some cases, the time required to "lock" the receiver to such a broadcast exceeds a few minutes. If, nevertheless, in the end, the receiver detected a signal included in such a package, then when viewing channels the problem manifested itself again: after switching or when switching to an operating mode, the signal was absent. Any connection of this effect with the parameters of the received signal (frequency, value symbol rate and FEC) could not be found. We assume that the problem arises due to insufficient interaction between the receiver's motherboard and the new tuner unit.

Conditional access
The DRS-5001 terminal has two built-in conditional access systems:
hardware and software COURT DRE Crypt;
software descrambler BISS.
Conditional system operation DRE access Crypt of the DRS-5001 receiver has been tested in the Tricolor TV package channel viewing mode. To connect to the view, the following were performed:

There were no problems with registration and activation of the subscription. The receiver was tuned to receive Tricolor TV channels and switched to the pay-package channels viewing mode. However, after receiving confirmation of the subscription card activation for a long time (about 4 hours), the channel was not decoded, and the message “Scrambled channel (DRE)” was displayed on the screen. Viewing became possible only after switching to another channel. A similar problem was observed sometimes even after the receiver was switched from standby mode to working mode after a short (1-2 hours) shutdown interval. Another drawback that we noticed during testing is a significant switching time when watching between coded channels of the Tricolor TV package, sometimes reaching 5-7 seconds. Decoding was stable while watching the selected channel.
The BISS software descrambler supports the Mode 1 conditional access mode. Seven keys can be stored in the receiver's memory.
To test the operation of the built-in BISS descrambler, the ability to view the Stolichnoye TV channel (Express-AM22, 53 ° east) was tested. To test the CI interface, various types of CAM modules and original access cards were used paid packages and the channels NTV-Plus (Eutelsat W4, 36 ° East) and Orion Express (Express-AM2, 80 ° East). subtitles. The terminal supports TTX and DVB subtitle processing. The software allows you to select the type of subtitles displayed on the screen (DVB or TTX subtitles). The function works correctly on different channels, broadcasts of which are accompanied by subtitles.
OSD-menu makes it possible to arrange channel lists:
sorting the browse list. The currently displayed channel list can be sorted alphabetically. Possibility is provided fast transition inside an ordered list and switching alphabet layouts (four language options from the same set as the menu languages);
creation of favorite channel lists. In total, the user can create up to 32 favorite lists. Thanks to the use of user-defined selection filters, the process of creating such lists is greatly simplified;
channel list editor (operations for deleting, moving, renaming, blocking). The editable list ("TV" or "Radio") is displayed against the background of the full-screen image of the channel being watched.

Testing of the DRS-5001 receiver showed that, despite the presence of problems, the device provides the ability to view channels of the Tricolor TV package and can be used to receive other paid and open programs.

PROCEDURE:

1.Unplug the receiver's power cord from the outlet, and then plug the receiver back in.

2. Switch the receiver to the Tricolor TV Info channel.
