Method principle

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) is a new highly efficient method for separating and analyzing the components of complex mixtures. For CE analysis, a small volume sample is introduced into a quartz capillary filled with electrolyte. A voltage of 10 ... 30 kV is applied to the capillary. Under the action of an electric field, the sample components begin to move along the capillary at different speeds, depending on their structure, charge, and molecular weight, and, accordingly, reach the detector at different times. The resulting sequence of peaks is called an electropherogram, while the qualitative characteristic of the substance is the time of migration, and the quantitative characteristic is the height or area of ​​the peak, which is proportional to the concentration of the substance.

Work procedure

DROP®-105 is controlled from the front panel using the built-in keyboard and display through the menu system, the analysis result is displayed on an external computer.
