Below, the process of installing a typical configuration in the 1C:Enterprise 8.3 system will be described in detail, using the Enterprise Accounting solution as an example. Installing a typical configuration occurs in two stages, first a configuration template is installed, and then a new database is created from the installed template.
Template installation.
To add a new template, a special configuration installer (distribution kit) is required. You can get the installer on the ITS disk or on the 1C:Enterprise user support website.
Open the directory with the typical configuration installer and run the setup.exe file.
The configuration installer will start. Click "Next" on the initial installation window.
Now select the directory where the template will be stored. After selecting the desired directory, click "Next".
We are waiting for the installation to complete and click "Finish" to complete the wizard.
Create a new database from a template
Now let's create a new database from the installed template. But first, we will specify the directory with the location of the configuration templates to the launcher. To do this, launch the 1C:Enterprise client, in the infobase selection window, click "Settings", in the launch dialog settings window that opens, add our configuration template directory (you can add several directories) and click "OK" saving the entered values.
The Add Infobase/Group Wizard opens. In the case of creating a new infobase, set the appropriate switch (already set by default) and click "Next".
In the next window, we will see a list of templates installed in the previously specified directory. For the installed template, there are 2 options for creating an infobase - new (clean) database , and bases with demo data to demonstrate configuration options. (If you plan to create an infobase for subsequent loading of data into it from the upload file (*.dt) or to develop a new configuration, then you need to select the “Creating an infobase without configuration…” item.) Select the option we need and click “Next”.
Enter the name of the database (how it will be displayed in the list) and select the location type of the infobase - file (on the user's computer or on the local network) or client-server (on the 1C:Enterprise server). In this example, we will select the file version of work by setting the appropriate switch and click "Next".
Specify the location of the database files and click "Next" again.
On the last page, specify the launch options for the database being added. If the configuration version differs from the 1C version (for example, the configuration is for version 8.2, but you want to run it from under the client version 8.3), you should change this setting. Having decided on the parameters, click "Finish" to complete the wizard, after which the process of creating a new database will start, which may take some time.
Beginning users of programs developed on the 1C:Enterprise platform, approaching the moment of purchasing the “box” or having already purchased it, naturally ask themselves: “How to install 1C Enterprise?”
In fact, installing 1C Enterprise is a simple process; it is absolutely not necessary to have any special skills and knowledge for this. In this article, we will take a closer look at the installation process and give step-by-step instructions to remove all possible questions during installation.
First of all, for installation, you need to get the installation distribution kit of the 1C platform. You can do this in three ways:
- Take the distribution kit on a disk in the same yellow box that you received when purchasing any 1C configuration. In this case, you can not even look for the distribution itself on the disk, but use autorun;
- If you have an ITS subscription, simply register on the users.v8.1c.ru support site and download the distribution kit from there.
- Again, if you have an ITS subscription, request an installation distribution kit from a representative of the company serving you.
*It is worth noting that regardless of where the distribution kit is obtained from, the installation process of 1C 8 will remain unchanged.
Let's dwell a little more on the first two ways to get a distribution
1. The box you purchased contains a disk with installation distributions for the platform and 1C configuration. To install, insert the disc and use autorun. You will see the following window (it is the same for all typical 1C configurations):
- Quick installation 1C 8 and launch. The program itself will install the minimum set of components required for operation.
- Custom installation 1C 8. The user independently selects the necessary installation components.
To install the 1C platform, select "1C:Enterprise 8". We will describe further actions below, since they are the same for all items.
2. To download the distribution kit from the 1C support site, type in the address bar of the browser
After loading the site, you will see the following:
Active links are highlighted in the text to go to the necessary sections. You will need the "Software Updates" or "Download Updates" item. Clicking on any of the inscriptions will take you to a page with a list of sections for downloading (of course, after entering the login and password that you set when registering on the site).
In the list of sections, you will need the very first one, "Technological Distributions". Click on it and see the subsections. You will need one of the sections shown in the screenshot below, depending on which platform you want to install.
In our example, we will install platform version 8.3
We go into this subsection and see the available versions. We will put the latter, but if necessary, you can choose any of them.
Clicking on the version you want will take you to a menu of download options. Don't be intimidated by the abundance of items: you only need one of the two - a technology platform for 32-bit or 64-bit* versions of Windows.
*Here it is important to remember one nuance: the platform for 32-bit versions works fine on 64-bit versions, but not vice versa.
After choosing a version, you will be taken to a page with a download link. Download the archive with the platform to any place on your hard drive. After unpacking, you will receive a folder with files of the following form:
You will need a setup file. It is the penultimate one in the list of files. Run it by double clicking and the installation starts.
Direct installation 1C
The process of installing 1C is very simple. As a rule, it is enough to agree with the proposed settings during installation.
In the first window, click "Next", in the second - select the components to install. Here you can not change anything. To work with 1C, it is enough to install the minimum set of components specified by the system by default. You can also select the folder in which 1C will be installed. By default, this is drive C. Click "Next".
In the next window, you will be prompted to select the interface language. There are 3 options available: System Preferences (default is the language of your version of Windows), English and Russian. Choose the desired option. In the next window, the program will inform you that everything is ready for installation. Click the "Install" button. We are waiting for the installation to complete and in the window that appears we see a proposal to install the protection driver. If you purchased version 1C (USB), then do not uncheck the box. If you have a version with software protection, you can remove it. Click next.
In the next window, the program will inform you that the installation of 1C Enterprise is completed. Uncheck the box if you do not want to read help information and click "Finish".
So we finished: we completed the installation of 1C. After that, a shortcut should appear on the desktop to quickly launch the program. Ahead of you is the installation and configuration of 1C - the configuration in which you have to work.

- If you have a subscription to ITS, then you can download these files from the site users.v8.1c.ru
We will consider the installation of 1C using the platform version 8.3 as an example. Installing the version of the 1C platform 8.2 is no different from 8.3, so this instruction is also suitable for it.
The distribution installation files look something like this:
To start the installation, open the setup.exe file, in the window that appears, click "Next".:
In the next window, we can select the platform components and installation folder. In most cases, the composition of the components does not need to be changed; it is also recommended to install 1C in the default folder. Click "Next":

Almost everything, finally click "Install":

Next, we are prompted to install the protection driver. Installing the driver is only necessary if you are using hardware protection, i.e. USB key. If you have a software license i.e. without USB HASP protection key, then uncheck the box.

Where to begin?
Installation of a 1C software product, regardless of its accounting orientation, consists of three key stages:
- Installing a platform - an engine or foundation, which is the basis for the operation of any 1C program.
- Installation of the configuration part - direct installation of a user accounting program (1C: Accounting, 1C: ZUP, 1C: Trade Management, etc.).
- The final step will be to create a new or connect an existing information database, which will be displayed in the program launch window when you click the shortcut. There can be several and even quite a lot of bases, their display in the form of a tree allows you to sort the list somewhat.
Let's consider in detail each of the stages.
1C platform installation
Boxed 1C software products are supplied in a cardboard package, which includes:
- installation disk with distributions for installing the platform and the supplied configuration;
- disk ITS;
- printed documentation in several books: usually a user manual and an administration manual.
The installation of 1C begins with the installation disk delivered to the DVD drive of the computer, and the installation wizard starts, in the window of which you should select the item “Installing the technological platform”. If autorun of CDs and DVDs is disabled (no movement occurs on the screen when discs are installed), go to the My Computer shortcut to the desired drive and run either the autostart.exe file (to start the disc) or setup.exe (to installation start). In the welcome window that opens, click "Next".
In the next window "Custom installation", without delving into the technological details, you can leave the default methods for installing components and click the "Next" button to go to the next screen:
In the next window, the interface language is selected:
1C provides two options for protecting the licensedness of the product used:
- physical USB key, which is becoming less and less popular;
- software protection using a PIN code.
Installing the protection driver in the next window is only required for the USB version.
This completes the installation of the platform. A recognizable 1C icon will appear on the desktop, when launched, an empty window of the list of user bases will open.
1C configuration installation
This step boils down to deploying configuration templates from which you can create any number of accounting bases. In the initial window of the installation wizard, select the "Install configuration" item, move to the next screen by clicking the "Next" button:
In the next step, the user can leave the default directory or create a custom path where the configuration template files will be stored. For 1C: Accounting 8, the Accounting folder will be created along this path:
The template is installed in the specified directory, and the installation of the configuration on this is considered complete:
Creation of a new 1C database
When you launch the 1C shortcut that appears on the desktop, a window opens with a list of installed infobases, while it is empty:
By the "Add" button, select the first of the options, moving to each next step is performed by the "Next" button:
Selecting the first of the options in the next window will display a list of available second step templates from which the base can be deployed. Here you only need to choose the appropriate one:
You should enter a name for the database - as a rule, this is the name of the organization for which records will be kept:
The next screen allows you to select the physical storage path for the database on the computer disk:
The next window will be the last one. It offers several settings that you can leave as default. By pressing the "Finish" button, the infobase will be created:
Its creation will be fixed by a new line in the list of infobases:
In the case of delivery with software protection, when you first start the base, you will be prompted to enter the registration number of the kit and the PIN code from the sealed envelope included in the box.
With an existing Internet connection, you should click "Get a license" and after a couple of minutes you can start working.

Make sure the release is correct
Before upgrading the platform, make sure that the configuration you are using supports the new version of the platform.
How to find out the release number of the platform and 1C configuration? To do this, open the "Help" section in the main menu and select the "About" item.
A window will appear on the screen, where the platform release number will be indicated in the first (upper) block, and the configuration release number will be indicated in the "Configurations" section (in the main block).
You can also find out the release number by clicking on the yellow icon with the letter “i” inscribed in it - it is located in the upper right corner of the main program window.
Download the update from the official site
We will not consider updating the 1C platform in user mode, but will perform the installation manually. You need to download the update on the official website at the following link: https://releases.1c.ru/total (authorization required!)
Updating the version of the program is available only for registered users, so enter the login and password that were issued during the registration stage in the proposed form. If you are not registered, please do so now.
Attention! If, after downloading and checking the platform version, as described in the first paragraph, the old version is displayed, most likely, an incorrect installer option has been selected (for example, “thin client”).
Find and run the installer
The developers have packed the updates into a RAR archive, so you will need an archiver that supports this format. Find the downloaded platform update, extract it to a separate folder and run the setup.exe file.
Please wait while the installation preparation is completed. Then, in the welcome window of the installer, click the Next button to proceed to the selection of options.
Select required components and interface language
Before updating the platform, you must select the components to work with. If you are not a system administrator, leave the ones that the system suggests by default and click the "Next" button.
In the previous paragraph, the system will offer a folder for installation - by default, this is Program Files. If the main program files are located in another directory, install it through the "Change" button. This is important for the correct operation of the program.
On the next window, select the appropriate interface language (the default is “Russian”) and click the “Next” button.
Start the update installation process
In a new window, click on the "Install" button - after that, the installation of files with updates into the system will begin directly.
The procedure takes several minutes and directly depends on the performance of the computer and the work of other applications running at that moment.
If the User Account Control window appears during the installation, agree that you really want to install this software on your computer - click the "Yes" button.
After copying is completed and settings are made to the system, the program will prompt you to install the protection driver.
If you are using a USB key that provides hardware protection, uncheck the box - the required driver is already on your system. Do the same if you linked the 1C application to a specific computer at the program level - in this case, there is no need for a driver either. Proceed to the next window by clicking the "Next" button.
Attention! If you skipped the checkbox and the driver is installed again, this will not affect your further work in any way.
Complete the update installation
At the end of the installation, a window will appear on the screen in which there will be a “Finish” button - click it.
We have described in detail how to update the platform through the configurator — if the process was successful, the program will work stably on your computer. To verify this, use its features for several days.
After that, uninstall previous versions of 1C:Enterprise 8.3 so that they do not take up space on your hard drive. To do this, go to the "Control Panel", select the appropriate item from the list and click "Delete".
If you continue to work with configurations created for platform version 8.2, do not delete it.
Leave two platforms of different versions on the computer (in our case, 8.2 and 8.3) - they will start automatically when you select the appropriate configuration.
