Change color in photoshop is not saturated. How to change the color of an object in a photo in Photoshop

Hello dear readers. Replacing the colors in the picture is quite an interesting and addictive task. Personally, I can spend quite a lot of time with this entertainment. There are several tools that will help in this work, and each of them is suitable for its case.

Today I will tell you how to change the color of a picture in Photoshop and how to use it in each specific case. You will like it, I assure you.

It should be noted that I use Photoshop CC, but we will not do anything specific, so you can safely start reading even if you have a simpler version of this program. Not an online service, of course, it is weak and non-functional, but in cases with CS3, 5 or 6 you will not notice the discrepancies.

Let's get started?

Simple color grading

Equipment for high-quality shooting is quite expensive, and it doesn't matter if you don't have it. You can get good pictures with editing programs such as Photoshop. To be honest, I use this opportunity for almost every photo that I post on my blog. I like the brighter colors than are usually posted on the Internet.

By the way, if you are interested, read the article already published in Start-Luck. I'll take a pre-prepared picture to start talking about simple color correction and get to work.

I open the tab in the top menu "Image", and then the category "Adjustments". Take the time to understand from your own experience what "Brightness / Contrast", "Vividness", "Hue / Saturation" and other options that you will find in this tab are.

You will not spoil anything, will not break and you can always return to the original version, simply by refusing to save the changes when you close the picture. Just see how certain instruments behave. As they say, what you reach yourself is always remembered better than when everything is explained to you on your fingers.

For example, open the "Color Tone" and pull the various sliders, you will immediately see how the picture changes colors and will be able to build a logical chain between your actions and the result. Do not forget to check the box next to "View".

The color balance changes colors more, the setting is more subtle and interesting.

If you want to work with a certain element, that's enough, I have already talked more than once in simple and understandable language about how to do this in more than 8 tools and ways. I will not repeat myself, it is not difficult to find a publication, it is enough to follow the link just above.

Now I will use the simplest method - "Magic Wand". Just click on the object and the desired fragment is selected. With the Tolerance setting, I set the color spread.

As you know, there are many shades of white, blue and any other color. The higher the tolerance number, the more shades from the spectrum will be determined by the program and selected with a stick.

Change the direction of the curve and the color changes.

By the way, if you want to work with the background in this way, that is, the area that is outside the selection, then you must first select it, and then in the "Selection" tab of the top menu, select the "Inversion" item.

Running ants are removed using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + D.

Substitution in contrast

I talked about this method in great detail in the article « » ... Now we are going to quickly go over the main functions. I will give you a little instruction that will suffice.

This tool is ideal for replacing a bright, stand-out color in a picture. For example, a yellow apple on a white background, a red car in a green forest, or, like now, a bright girl in a dark room.

Go back to the Adjustments section and select the Color Swap tool here. Using the Eyedropper tool that appears automatically, I select the shade that should be changed. In this case, I click on the curtain. Then I move the Scatter slider so that the girl becomes almost black, and all other objects have outlines ( I wrote a whole article about how to draw a black background).

Please note that the curtain and the wall should still have outlines, just setting a spread of 200 will not work. Otherwise, the program will not take into account the shades and paint over all ugly, with a single color. Now I squeeze on a plate with a color at the very bottom of the window, under it is written "Result".

I click through the spectrum and different shades until I get the perfect result.

Ready. Without recoloring the photo, we got a great result. In just a few seconds. Now let's talk a little about the disadvantages. As I said above, it is convenient to use this method if the image is contrasting. To repaint a particular girl's dress in a different shade, you will have to highlight it. I can suggest another interesting one, in which a lot of attention is paid to complex objects, for example, hair.

I'll use the Magnetic Lasso tool myself.

Now I transfer the dress to a new layer by pressing Ctrl + J at the same time. ? Read the post I recently prepared for newbies with a detailed account of them.

We're going back to the "Replace Color" section of the "Correction" section. In this case, the hue will have to be changed using the "Hue", "Saturation", "Brightness" sliders. If I click on the “Result,” the result is extremely disgusting and implausible.

In my opinion, the shade of the young lady's dress is still far from ideal, and therefore I want to blur it a little. I open the "Filter" tab and select everyone's favorite "Gaussian Blur".

The robe became less distinct, but the shade evened out somewhat.

As I said, this method works best if there are contrasts, so I'll be satisfied with that, and I'll tell you about the last tool for today.

A quick tool for complex cases and drastic changes

I like the Color Swap brush more than any other tool for a similar task. You can find out about it in the article « » in which I transform the most ordinary girl into a red-haired Smurf woman with blue skin.

Finding a brush is not difficult, for this you need to right-click on a regular brush. An additional menu will open, in which you can select the desired tool.

Choosing a color. Everything is as usual. Window on the right. In this case, black, and then paint over part of the girl's hair. Note that all shades are preserved.

You can put green.

Use the keys to change the size of the brush.

I can also offer a tutorial video on this topic.

Well, if you want to more professionally understand the program and understand exactly how this or that function works in the Photoshop program, then I offer a very useful course “ Photoshop for beginners in video format ».

Maximum useful information about the tools. That's basically it. Do not forget to subscribe to the newsletter to keep abreast of the latest, useful and simple information.

Until next time and good luck.

In this tutorial, you will learn in detail about how to change the color in Photoshop. All steps are described in detail, accompanied by pictures, so that it is clear and lucidly explained where and what function can be used. So, let's begin!

The first way to replace a color is to use the ready-made function in Photoshop "Replace Color" or Replace Color in English.

I will show you with the simplest example, with a simple picture. First you need to download photoshop cc. Let's take an icon and open it in Photoshop.

The trowel on the icon is yellow. We will replace yellow with any other color that interests us. To do this, go to the menu Image - Correction - Replace color (Image - Adjustments - Replace Color)

The color swap function dialog box appears. Now we need to indicate what color we will change, for this, activate the Eyedropper tool (see the arrow) and click on the trowel with it. You will see this color displayed in the dialog box at the top, which is titled Selection.

At the bottom is the Replacement heading - there you can change the selected color. But first, you can set the Spread in selection parameter. The larger the parameter, the more it will capture colors. In this case, you can bet on the maximum. It will capture all the yellow in the image.

Adjust the Replace color settings - the color you want to see instead of the replaced one. I made it green with Hue, Saturation and Brightness.

When you're ready to replace the color, click OK.

So we changed one color to another.

There are dozens of ways to change color in Adobe Photoshop. The easiest and fastest is to use the special command Replace color or “Replace color”. This function is convenient to use when working with any object in the photograph. Also, this command is useful when replacing the color of several small details that are randomly scattered throughout the image. This article provides detailed step-by-step instructions for completing this simple task.

Open the image in Photoshop. Duplicate the main layer. To do this, go to the "Layer" tab in the top menu and select "Duplicate Layer" or press Ctrl + J. Go to the "Image" tab (Image). Select "Adjustments" - "Replace Color". A dialog box will appear. At its top, check the box next to Localized Color Clusters . There are 3 pipettes below. With the first selected, click on the area of the object where you want to change the color. It will appear in the top square of the dialog box.

An eyedropper with a plus sign adds area. Use it when there are unselected areas on the object. Eyedropper with minus - removes the part of the image that cannot be replaced by color.

Adjust the “Spread” parameter. If you leave the slider at the beginning, only those pixels that exactly match the color of the sample will be substituted. At maximum values of the parameter, the program will replace all shades of the selected color. Adjust the Replace option. At the bottom of the dialog box there are three commands: hue, saturation, and lightness. Use them to select the color and the desired shade to replace. Be guided by the square on the right labeled “Result”.

Click “Ok”. A good effect is obtained with contrasting images, especially if there are no similar shades of the variable color. If there are many tones of the selected paint, and you need to change only in one area, first select it using the appropriate tool on the taskbar. Thus, changing the color of any object in Photoshop is quick and easy.

Actually exists many ways to change the color of an object in Photoshop... Previously, we have already looked at how to do this using, and also learned how to change hair color in Photoshop using.

These are not all methods, today I will show two very simple ones, and in future articles I will talk about a couple more methods using other adjustment layers.

Method number 1

I will briefly talk about the application of this method. Open the image and create a new layer (reminiscent of all techniques).

Then change the blending mode of this layer by choosing Color tone from the drop-down list at the top of the Layers palette (located at the bottom of the list).

After that, select by pressing the B key, click on the foreground color indicator, in the palette dialog box that appears, select a shade and click on the OK button. With a new layer selected, paint over the object.

If you paint over the excess, you can temporarily select the Eraser tool by pressing and holding the E key. Or you can prevent such situations in advance by adding a layer mask to a new layer and hiding the areas that do not need to be changed with black.

Note

If the area to be recoloured is surrounded by black, white and gray colors, you can safely paint over the latter, and they will not change at all. This is because in the Hue blend mode, the filled areas only affect those areas of the underlying layer that already contain color.

Method number 2

Remember the menu command? A similar menu command Replace color can be used to highlight one shade and replace it with another. This command works very well if the color to be replaced is more or less uniform and concentrated in a certain area, such as the car body in the picture above.

Selecting the command from the menu Image - Correction - Replace Color, you will see a dialog box of the same name.

The Eyedropper tool is already selected in it, so click on the shade in the image that you want to replace. It will appear in a square labeled Color in a group of controls Highlighting at the top of the dialog box.

In a group of controls Replacement at the bottom of the dialog box, click on the square above the inscription Result to select a new shade. When you click the OK button. If you need to correct the selected shade, you can use the sliders Color tone, Saturation and Brightness(also found in the Selection controls group). Here's what happened:

Please note that in addition to the ordinary pipette, there are pipettes next to them with small “+” (plus) and “-” (minus) signs. Use them to expand / narrow the range of shades that need to be changed.

As you can see, I overdid it a bit and my car wheels also turned purple. This suggests that this method may not always be useful.

If you spot an error in the text, select it and press Ctrl + Enter. Thanks!

In this tutorial, I will tell you in detail about how to change the color in Photoshop. I will write down all the steps in detail, I will accompany them with pictures so that it is clear and intelligible I will explain where and what function can be used.

1 way

I will show you with the simplest example, with a simple picture. Let's take an icon and open it in Photoshop.

The trowel on the icon is yellow. We will replace yellow with any other color that interests us. To do this, go to the menu Image - Correction - Replace color (Image - Adjustments - Replace Color)

When you're ready to replace the color, click OK.

So we changed one color to another.

2 way

The second way, according to the scheme of work, can be said to be identical to the first. But we will look at it in a more difficult image.

For example, I chose a photo with a car. Now I will show you how to change the color of a car in Photoshop.

As always, we need to specify which color we will replace. To do this, you can create a selection using the color range function. In other words, highlight the image by color.

To do this, go to the menu Selection - Color Range (Select - Color Range)

Next, it remains to click on the red color of the car and we will see the function that determined it - by painting it with white in the preview window. The white color shows which part of the image is highlighted. The spread in this case can be adjusted to the maximum value. Click OK.

After you click OK, you will see how the selection is created:

Now you can change the color of the selected image. To do this, use the function - Image - Correction - Hue / Saturation (Image - Adjustments - Hue / Saturation)

A dialog box will appear.

Immediately check the Rendering option (bottom right). Now using the Hue, Saturation and Brightness options you can adjust the color. I adjusted the color to blue.

Everything. The color has changed.

It was - it is:
