STEP 1 - CHECK YOUR ROUTER PACKAGE

STEP 5 - INTERNET SETUP ON ASUS RT N12
First, let's set up an internet connection. To do this, you will need an agreement with an Internet provider, which specifies the settings and type of connection. If you have lost the contract or for some reason it is missing, contact the support of your provider and find out the settings that you need. Then go to the menu item on the right "Internet".
Dynamic IP address.
This is the simplest type of connection used by providers such as Rostelecom Udmurtia, TDK-Ural, etc. Here it is enough to select "Automatic IP" in the Type-WAN-connection field. Then be sure to put dots on "Yes" in the "Enable WAN" and "Enable NAT" fields. You can also "enable UPnP" put an end to "Yes" - this is required so that we do not have problems working with file hosting.
If the provider has a binding to a specific MAC address, then you need to specify it in the "MAC address" field. Most likely, this is the poppy address of your computer that was connected to the Internet. If you are setting up a router on it, then just click the "Clone MAC" button. To accept the settings, do not forget to click the "Accept" button, after which the router will reboot.
PPPoE connection
This type of connection is used by most Internet providers - Rostelecom, Dom.ru, TTK, MTS. Select the type-WAN connection "PPPoE", opposite "Enable WAN NAT UPnP", set the dots to "Yes".
Now the most important thing, in the Account Settings item, in the Username field - Specify your login which is written in the agreement or taken from those support, in the Password field - we also enter the password that is specified in the login agreement.
As well as in the Dynamic IP settings, some providers have a binding to the poppy address. Step 6 - CONFIGURE WIFI ON YOUR ASUS RT N12 ROUTER

Set up manually

In some cases, providers use a connection such as Layer 2 Tuneling Protocol (L2TP), Point to Point Tuneling Protocol (PPTP) , static ip , or Point to point protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) (used by providers such as beeline or dom.ru), in which case you will have to manually configure a number of parameters.
Step 1. If the provider uses the above connection technologies, then in the "Manage settings" menu, when the connection is checked, the system will offer several types of Internet connection to choose from.
Step 2 In the next window, you will need to enter the username and password that are used when connecting. This information must be specified in the contract from the Internet service provider. You may also need to enter information such as IP address, service name, and so on. Each situation is different depending on the Internet provider and the connection itself.
Step 3 During setup, immediately after the router connects to the Internet, you will be prompted to set up Wi-Fi, etc. Everything should be set up immediately, according to the principle already indicated. You can independently change the parameters of the Internet connection (WAN). To do this, go to the main settings page, find the tab "Internet » and select "Connect » .
