Gmail Mail - manage your email. Domain mail on Yandex - creating and configuring

In this section, you can configure some specific parameters of the program (for example, the method of processing letters on the mail server).

Mail management (when using the protocol POP3)

Delete messages from the server- if this method is selected, then The Bat! after receiving, it will delete letters from the server and store them only on the user's machine. This is the correct setting for POP3 to conserve space on the mail server (many limit the size of the mailbox).

Leave letters on the server- useful if you prefer to read mail at work and store it at home. Moreover, if you accidentally deleted a required letter, you can re-accept it.

Retention period for messages on the server- allows you not to clog the server with old letters. They will be automatically deleted during the next reception of mail after the expiration of the specified period.

Delete messages from the server when they are removed from the trash- usually messages deleted from the trash bin are not of particular interest, so there is no need to keep copies of them on the server.

Maximum letter size- if The Bat! will detect a letter on the server that is larger than the specified value, it will download only headers and create a special notification. If the letter turned out to be really necessary, you can ask the author to resend the sending.

With the option " Delete messages from the server", you will no longer be able to receive a bulky message that The Bat! missed. Try specifying the" Retention period for messages on the server "and download the required message using the dispatcher.

Note: You may lose important messages when this option is active!

Mail Dispatcher (when using the protocol POP3)

Accept with the title of the first lines of the letter- the number of lines should be reasonable in terms of the speed of loading headers.

Automatically call on every check- if this parameter is set, then at each check there will be an interactive reception of correspondence from the server.

Show all messages on the server- this option becomes available only after selecting the previous parameter. It allows you to view in the manager all letters left on the server (otherwise only new messages will be shown).

8-bit character encoding

Some mail servers "do not pass" characters in the body of the letter, the numbers of which exceed 127 (for example, the entire Cyrillic alphabet). Use the "Do not encode" option only if you are absolutely sure that the aforementioned servers will not get in the way of your email. Otherwise, it is recommended to use Quoted-printable or Base64.

The difference between the two is that Base64 creates completely unreadable text, while Quoted-printable is readable (assuming you are using mostly Latin alphabet - only additional characters are encoded). If the recipient's mailer recognizes Base64 and Quoted-printable automatically, choose either of these two methods.

Today I want to help you create a beautiful domain mail on your hosting, redirect it and delegate it to Yandex Mail.

What does this mean?

You will receive beautiful mail with a tail of your domain. And it will be possible to view it in the panel of the Yandex Mail service.

What is domain mail for?

3) Solid mailbox for business cards.

Advantages of domain mail delegated to Yandex Mail.

1) Fewer emails will end up in SPAM.

3) Beautiful letterbox type [email protected]

4) Convenient interface for working with mail from Yandex Mail.

5) You can create up to 1000 boxes for yourself and your employees and friends.

6) All correspondence is stored on Yandex without taking up space on the hosting.

7) Unlimited mailbox volume.

8) Scan mail for viruses.

9) Convenient setting of your SPAM filters.

10) Many different themes for the interface.

11) Access to mail via POP3 / IMAP protocols.

12) Access to mail from mobile applications and devices.

13) Convenient tools for working with letters in the web interface (downloading all attached files in one archive, listening to attached mp3 files, tags from popular social networks, and much more).

14) Chat (instant messaging tool) on the Mail pages.

The fact is that many hosting providers generally do not provide mailboxes based on the domain and you have to look for an external mail service. But even if your hoster has a mail service, then these mailboxes take up disk space from your hosting plan, which forces you to constantly delete read letters and not store correspondence, since there are restrictions on the number, volume and mail traffic.

If you still dare create domain mail directly on your hosting, then get ready for the fact that you will encounter an absolutely unaccustomed and uncomfortable interface for managing domain mail. There may also be problems with customization for different mail programs and a bunch of other nuances.

Today I will tell you how to create a domain mail on the Yandex Mail service and how to solve all the arising problems with mail for the domain at once.

We connect domain mail on Yandex.

Many of you have a Yandex account and use Yandex mail. So you are familiar with the simple and functional user interface of this mail service. How nice it would be if the domain mail interface was just as user-friendly. This is the question that Yandex programmers thought of when they created a mail service for the domain.

In addition to simplicity and convenience, mail for a domain from Yandex has a lot of advantages, which I described a little above.

All that remains is connect Yandex mail for your domain... It will take from 10 to 30 minutes and depends on the specifics of your hosting and how quickly the Yandex robot checks your settings. After all the settings, you can use all these delights in conjunction with your site.

A step-by-step plan for connecting the Yandex mail service and creating a domain mail to the site:

Step # 1. Register on Yandex, if you are not registered, or log in with your existing username and password to your account.

Step # 2. Go to the domain mail registration section.

Step # 3. We confirm the domain that belongs to you, you must prove that you are its rightful owner. This can be done in several ways. Whichever you choose is up to you, I recommend the first method.

There are 3 ways to check the ownership of a site's domain:

1) Placing a special txt (text) file in the root directory of your site.

2) Create a subdomain with a special name that Yandex offers with a Cname record leading to mail.yandex.ru.

3) Change of contact address for domain name.

The latter, in my opinion, immediately disappears due to the complexity of the implementation in most cases. The first and second methods, in my opinion, are simple, they can be used. Next, I will show confirmation by uploading an html file with a special name to my hosting.

Watch my video tutorial on setting up domain mail on Yandex in order not to miss anything.
In the video tutorial, I told you how to set up mail for a domain in two hosting, this and.

If you have another hosting, then you can view the manual for setting up domain mail for some popular hosters on Yandex at the link: http://help.yandex.ru/pdd/add-domain/hoster-settings.xml#hoster-settings

Below I will tell you how to set up domain mail using Timeweb hosting as an example. Using your username and password, enter the.

Go to the Quick Actions section and click on the item: "Upload files to the server".

In the root pablic_html folder of your site, select the "File" item, then click on "Create file" and create a new file with a special name that Yandex offered us with the html extension.

Now we go to the main page for connecting domain mail on Yandex and press the button to check the domain.

Step # 4. Setting up an MX record on a hosting so that the hosting redirects all mail to an account on Yandex mail.

We return to the Timeweb hosting control panel and go to the panel in the list of created domains. When you hover over your domain, a green key button will appear, click on it.

In the window that opens, go to the second tab called MX mail servers and make the MX 10 MX.YANDEX.RU settings as in the picture below and save the changes.

Go back to the MX record settings on Yandex and click the "Check MX records" button and wait for the Yandex robot to check it.

Step # 5. After successful verification of MX records on your hosting, you will be able to create the required number of domain mailboxes.

In the example below, I have created several mailboxes for my domain.

Now, you can enter the mailboxes you created using a special link offered by Yandex. The link looks like this https://mail.yandex.ru/for/your-domain or simply through the authorization form on the main page of Yandex mail.

When you enter your new mailbox, Yandex will ask you to fill in your personal data and redirect you to the Mail for Domain page. Completion of registration ". Here you just need to correctly fill in all your personal data and save them. After saving personal data, you will be able to use personal domain mail.

Step 6. We make additional DKIM digital signature settings for your mailbox... This is necessary in order for all sent letters to reach 100%.

What is DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail)?

This is a method of verifying your mail using a special signature.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) technology combines several existing anti-phishing and anti-spam techniques to improve the quality of classification and identification of legitimate email. Instead of a traditional IP address, DKIM adds a digital signature associated with the organization's domain name to identify the sender of the message. The signature is automatically verified on the recipient's side, after which "white lists" and "black lists" are applied to determine the sender's reputation.

This is not a required step, but without it there is a possibility that mail sent from your domain mailbox will end up in your recipient's SPAM mailbox.

To set up the DKIM signature for your domain mail, we return to the main page of domain mail registration on Yandex and go down the page and look for the following column: “To enable DKIM, you need to add a special TXT record in your domain’s DNS” and click on the link: “Show record content ".

In the window that opens, copy your digital signature to the domain mail and go to our hosting in the settings.

In the hosting settings, go to the control panel, to the list of created domains. When you hover over your domain, a green key button will appear, click on it.

In the window that opens, go to the third tab called "Advanced settings" and change the digital signature of the DKIM TXT record there to the one you took on Yandex. Be sure to click and save the changes made.

I congratulate you! If you have gone through all the points that I described above, then you have a fully working domain mail.

It remains to wait a bit for the Yandex robot to check the digital signature settings for the domain mail.

That's all for me, thank you for your attention, I am waiting for your questions in the comments to the article. Sincerely yours Alexander Novikov.

The longer you use your email, the more old messages accumulate in it. It is important to keep your mail in order so that you can easily find the letters you want. Fortunately, Gmail provides several powerful tools for managing your inbox.

In this lesson, we will talk about deleting emails, archiving, applying shortcuts, adding filters, and using the search function.

The easiest way to deal with email clutter is to delete the junk emails. However, there are other ways to keep your mail in order while leaving important emails. You can archive emails, thereby removing them from the inbox, or apply labels to them, dividing them into categories.

Removing unnecessary emails

It doesn't matter how many emails you receive, the likelihood that you will run out of space is extremely small. Gmail gives everyone a few gigabytes, which allows you to store a large number of emails and attachments. However, it is recommended that you delete unnecessary emails. The fewer letters there are, the easier it is to find the right ones among them.

To delete a letter:

  • On the message viewing page, click the Delete button.

If the message is part of a thread, the entire thread will be deleted. If you want to delete only this particular message, click on the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner of the message and select Delete this message.

Anti-spam

As a rule, spam (junk mail) is automatically placed in the Spam folder and does not go to your inbox. However, some emails manage to get through the Gmail spam filter. In order for the filter to work better in the future, you need not just delete such letters, but press the button To spam! The process of adding a message to spam is the same as deleting it. The only difference is that at the end you have to press the B spam button!

Emails in the Spam folder are automatically deleted after 30 days, so there is no need to manually clean it.

Archiving emails

Sometimes you need to remove letters from the inbox, but not delete them. Gmail allows you to archive emails so they no longer appear in your inbox. But the main thing is that access to them remains, in fact, this is a safe alternative to deletion.

To add a message to the archive:

  • On the message viewing page, click the Archive button.

To view emails in the archive:

  • On the left menu, click the More arrow and select All Mail. All your letters, including archived ones, will appear in the list.

Managing multiple emails

You can simultaneously delete, archive or add to spam several emails at once by selecting them in the inbox list. To do this, you need to mark each message with a tick and press the necessary buttons. You can also click on the top selection box to select all the letters visible on the page.

Working with shortcuts

Labels help you organize emails into categories and make it easier to find them. Applying a shortcut is similar to placing an email in a folder, with the only difference that you can apply more than one shortcut to an email. For example, if you receive a message about a trip with a company, you can label it Travel and Work. You can label your most important emails or all - the choice is yours. You can create new labels and choose a color for each one.

To apply a shortcut:

To create a new shortcut:

View Labeled Emails

Once you've organized your emails into labels, you can easily view all emails with a specific label. So the time spent tagging letters pays off. For example, you can view all emails labeled Travel so you don't get distracted by other emails and see the details of your upcoming trip.

To view emails with labels:

  1. In the panel of the left menu, click on the name of the required shortcut.
  2. Gmail will show all emails with this label. The name of the shortcut appears in the search bar.
  3. To see all emails, click Inbox in the left menu bar.

Some shortcuts may be hidden. If you don't see the shortcut you want, click More. Here you can also click Manage shortcuts and specify which shortcuts to hide.

To select a label color:

Creating filters

Filters can save you a lot of time by automatically assigning labels or deleting emails as soon as they arrive in your inbox. You can create filters for specific senders, recipients, topics, or even words in the body of an email.

To create a filter:

To change or remove filters:

Search for letters

The Mail Search feature allows you to Google search your mail. This means that you can find any email in your Gmail. The search goes through all parts of the letters, so you can find the letter, even if you forgot from whom.

To start a search:

  1. At the top of the page, enter your search criteria in the search bar and click Search.
  2. The search results appear on the inbox page. You can click on the letter and read it, or do another search.

If you can't find the email in any way, click Show Search Options to perform an advanced search.

For effective interaction between company employees, mail for the domain is needed - a technology that makes it possible to organize named mail on your own domain. However, some hosting providers do not provide mailboxes, and even if they do, these mailboxes take up a lot of hosting space, so you have to constantly delete read letters and correspondence.

A site's registered mail is an electronic mailbox with an address that contains the name of the company: for example, [email protected] yourdomain.ru. Using this service, you can send email on behalf of the site to the addresses of employees and other registered users. This is also convenient for the recipient: his email address is identified with the brand, thereby increasing brand awareness and the recipient's confidence in letters that come from a sender he knows.

Free domain mail from Yandex

Yandex offers any owner of a personal domain with a valid account on Yandex.Mail a free solution for creating a mailbox with the owner's domain name.

Features of the offer:

  • provision of free corporate mail up to 1000 mailboxes (subject to certain conditions - more than 1000 mailboxes);
  • user-friendly interface in Russian;
  • support for standard mail protocols (POP3, SMTP, IMAP);
  • correspondence is stored without taking up space on the hosting;
  • scanning letters for viruses;
  • many themes for the interface;
  • the ability to add a company logo;
  • spam protection;

Step-by-step instructions for registering and setting up mail from Yandex

Mail with the domain name of the site from Yandex is available to those who have an account on Yandex, so in order to connect it, first of all, you need to register or log in with your username and password. After that, you can go to the mailbox registration section.

Step 1. We go to https://pdd.yandex.ru/ The following page opens in front of us:

In the corresponding field after the @ sign, enter your domain name (highlighted in a red rectangle in the screenshot) and click "Add".

Step 2. You need to confirm your rights to the domain, that it belongs to you. This can be done in 3 ways:

  • by placing a text file (txt) in the root directory of your site;
  • creating a subdomain with a name suggested by Yandex with a CNAME record;
  • by changing the contact address.

The easiest way is to use the first method. To do this, you need to connect to the site via FTP and create a file with the name in the root directory, as recommended by Yandex. In this case, you need to insert the verification text from the interface inside the file. However, this method is not very convenient in terms of the fact that during CMS updates, you will have to constantly drag and drop other people's files in the root directory.

You can use the second method. To do this, in the domain control panel, add an entry with the following parameters: yamail- ... In each specific case, the combination of letters and numbers that must be entered instead of name is generated by Yandex individually. Select the CNAME record type and the following data: mail.yandex.ru.

As for the third method, to change the contact address, you need to go to the control panel on the registrar's website. Then specify a new contact address: +@ yandex.ru (instead of login we write our username, instead of key - the code that is indicated on the confirmation page). However, this method is not suitable for zones.rf, .ru and.by.

Regardless of the selected confirmation method, after the actions taken, click "Check domain ownership". If you chose the first method and did everything correctly, the new file will be available via a link from the browser. Please check this feature before further configuration.

Now it remains to wait for confirmation from Yandex: this process may take a day, or maybe a couple of minutes. Press the test button periodically.

Step 3... After confirming domain ownership, you need to set up MX records.

In order not to waste time on this, the easiest way is to delegate the domain to Yandex: the records will be changed automatically. This does not mean that now it will be serviced by Yandex: the service will still remain on your hoster, while Yandex acts as an intermediary and no more.

The domain is delegated as follows: in its settings (you can open them using the link issued by your domain registrar), you need to make changes to the DNS servers:

  • the primary DNS server is called "dns1.yandex.net.";
  • secondary - "dns.yandex.net."

Note that there is a period after net. Having done this, let's save the DNS records and wait until they are updated (on average, it takes 4 to 24 hours). Until the update takes effect, you will see the following status:

Refresh the page from time to time until you see the following:

The text is highlighted in green.

Creating mailboxes with your own domain

Actually, the previous step was final, the setup is over. Now you can add an address in the form of specific mailboxes and enter regular Yandex mail using the just created username and password from the organization's mailbox. To do this, find the "Add mailbox" field and enter the name and password.

The interface of this mail is the same as that of a regular one, but letters will already be sent with your domain in the address, for which everything was done. At the same time, to create a mailbox, you can enter any name, letters, numbers: you will not come across the fact that the name is already taken, as is often the case when you try to create a new mailbox in regular mail.

When you enter a new mailbox, you will need to fill in your personal data, after which you will be redirected to the "Completion of registration" page.

Here you just need to fill in all the fields and save, after which you can fully use the domain mail. You can enter it in several ways:

  • open Yandex.Mail and enter your username and password;
  • open the address mail.yourdomain.ru, where yourdomain is the name of your domain, and specify the login and password of the corporate mailbox;
  • through the form on your website.

Cons of free mail from Yandex

Despite the fact that the free offer is attractive just because it is free, the service capabilities and ease of management are not suitable for every company. Let's look at the main disadvantages of such mail:

1. Limited number of boxes

It is stated that e-mail from Yandex allows you to create an unlimited number of mailboxes. But if the specifics of your business dictate the need to create more than 1000 boxes, you may face a limitation. More than 1000 boxes can be provided only if the attendance and user activity on them is high.

2. Inability to send bulk mailings via mail

Yandex Mail does not allow bulk mailing to external addresses, that is, those that are not registered on your site. You can do group mailings only within a domain.

3. No technical support

If the user encounters any problems, then he simply has nowhere to call. It remains only to use the feedback form, but you may not wait for an answer.

4. Illegal SPF

Yandex Mail allows you to create and configure an SPF record - a means of filtering out spam on behalf of a domain and preventing forgery of mail addresses of its owner. However, Yandex's practice of using this tool does not prohibit receiving messages from illegitimate IP addresses.

5. Small message size limit

It is impossible to send messages larger than 41 MB via the Yandex mail service.

From all this, we can conclude that free Yandex mail is good only for the smallest business that cannot afford to pay even a small monthly fee for professional hosting solutions.

Ask a Question

Mail.ru

Corporate mail is an email address that contains a specific company domain instead of the well-known free service.

Mail.ru offers non-profit organizations, educational institutions, as well as individual entrepreneurs and companies to use the service of connecting a personal domain name to create concise and memorable addresses.

Advantages of connecting a domain name to Mail.ru

By connecting your domain to the Mail.ru service, you get a basic set of services, which include the ability to add up to 5,000 mailboxes. In addition, each user gets the opportunity to use cloud storage for workgroups, hot and cold data. Additionally, you can use the following benefits:

  • Unlimited mailboxes;
  • Modern mobile applications, access via IMAP protocol;
  • Integrated calendar, address book and messenger;
  • Reliable protection against spam and viruses;
  • Incoming mail notifications via SMS and some other functions.

Messages from other mailboxes can be imported to the new address. It is also possible to create mailing lists within the domain. This is a particularly useful feature when sending mailing to everyone or a group of users.

The disadvantages of the service include inbox advertising, which cannot be disabled without the use of special modules, and the lack of confidentiality of user data, including in the content of letters sent and received. According to the user agreement, data is collected and processed to improve the monetization of the service through the display of ads.

Google

A registered mail is an electronic mailbox, in the address of which, instead of a free service, there is the name of the company itself, the surname of the business owner, or any other data.

Alphabet (a Google brand) offers a team-oriented personal domain name service with extensive administration and customization options. At the same time, even a private user can connect to it.

Benefits of connecting a domain name to Google

The main advantages of Google are high spam protection and a user-friendly interface. However, in addition to this, the service has other advantages:

  • Providing boxes for each user;
  • Aliases (aliases) for mailbox and domain, special general chat;
  • Migrating messages from other mailboxes;
  • Spelling check of letters before sending, translator functions;
  • Answering machine;
  • Filtering messages, cancellation of sending letters;
  • Two-factor authentication;
  • Convenient mobile application.

The number of boxes in Google is limited only by the user's budget. A few years ago it was completely free for everyone, but today it remains so only for educational institutions. At the same time, each client can try the free 30-day version of Google Apps for Works and evaluate the service on their own.

Among the disadvantages of the service can be noted the high advertising congestion of the user interface, as well as the aggressive collection of confidential data (scanning the contents of the mailbox) for subsequent sale to advertisers.

Mailbox from the "Tendencia" company

For those companies that have special requirements for the quality of the hosting service, we offer a profitable service - domain mail for the company from the site. Our email hosting protects users from spam and viruses, ads and other unwanted messages. Key benefits of the offer:

  • unlimited mailbox volume;
  • domain.ru as a gift (when ordering from 10 addresses);
  • free testing (up to a month);
  • round-the-clock technical support.

To configure, you need to delegate the domain to the site's DNS servers. All users of 3 independent DNS servers are provided free of charge. To protect served addresses from spam, viruses, forgery and other cyber threats, the company uses a deep integration of the mail server with the protected DNS zone. Integration implies making various service records in the zone, for example TXT.

Many third-party DNS services do not support the required records or records of sufficient length, therefore, for the reliable functioning of the mail server, it is recommended to use a DNS site. In this case, the website can remain on the current hosting, there is no need to transfer it. Updating information in DNS can take up to a day after which the service of corporate addresses will be connected to the hosting site

To order a service or ask any questions, please contact us in a convenient way. You can do this by email, ordering a call back or call the phones listed on the site.
