The tablet writes that the market application is stopped. If the Play Store is turned off

Owners of Android mobile devices are well aware that in order to download any official content, you need to go to the Google Play service. There are various applications that help speed up the system, antiviruses for every taste, games and other very useful tools for work and entertainment.

Sometimes it is simply impossible not only to download, but even to open this most important service for mobile gadgets on Android. A message appears on the screen that an error has occurred in the Google Play services application. Usually, along with this sad message, its code is indicated, and from it you can determine the reason why the service cannot work. Let's figure out what errors are and how you can fix them yourself.

This is a very common reason that may arise due to a conflict between the version of the Google Play service and the version of the device's OS itself, or due to a malfunction in the Market.

If your phone or tablet warned of an unknown error, that is, without specifying a code, then you can try to fix it yourself by following these steps:

In most cases, this method fixes the problems that have arisen in the operation of the service, but if this does not happen, then you can solve the problem by simply removing it from the system, and then you need to download and install the latest version of the Market.

You can release cache entries from the service, it is located in the system settings menu in the program item installed by default by the developers of your smartphone or tablet. Select it, and by scrolling through the menu, find the cleaning functionality.

An unknown error very often occurs due to incorrect date and time settings. You can also eliminate the discrepancy from the system settings in the column of the same name - you can choose to synchronize with the Internet, in automatic mode, or set the desired values manually.

Also, the reason may be the lack of Internet access, and if you use wireless networks, then check the login password and your login, it is likely that after fixing you will be able to enter the Google Play service page.

Numbered errors

If you see a Google Play Services error number on the screen of your device, this will help the user identify the problem that has arisen and quickly fix it.

Here is a list of the most common mistakes and give specific advice on what to do in this or that case:

№ 24

This problem can be caused by an incorrect installation of the service, when the user decided to first uninstall and then reinstall the Market service. The fact is that in this case, many traces remain in the system, not deleted folders, which do not allow the installation to be done correctly, that is, they cause a conflict.

How to fix:

  1. First, from a third-party site, download any program to your phone or tablet with which you can easily get unlimited access to system settings, that is, root rights. Such a program can be, for example, Kingo Android ROOT.
  2. After gaining access to the system folders, find the path to the sdcard/android/data/ folder, which contains the undeleted old Google Play files. Click on them and safely remove from the system.
  3. After these steps, the new installation of the service should pass without errors.

№ 101

In fact, this cannot be called a problem, it’s just that the system informs you about the lack of space in the memory of your device. Google Play is a system application, and it must be installed in the memory of the device itself, and if there is not enough space, then this error message pops up.

To make the system work without failures, do the following:

  1. Go to the system settings menu.
  2. Find "Application Manager", open it.
  3. Choose the most voluminous programs and components, and transfer them using the device to a memory card.
  4. Check the sufficiency of space from the main menu in the "Memory" section: the freed space should be marked in green.

Cache entries also take up a lot of space, and it would be nice to get rid of them, we described how to clean the device in the example above.

№ 403

This problem may appear due to the presence of several Google accounts at once, both on the device itself and in the services. To solve the problem, from the main account, enter the settings, and uninstall the service, and then reinstall it. There shouldn't be any problems.

There may also be problems due to connecting to a proxy server (used to open sites prohibited in Russia), when redirecting to another country, it is impossible to get updates, so the number of this particular problem pops up. To get rid of the problem that has arisen, you should first stop the Google Services, and then clear all the data.

№ 481

This problem appears during incorrect detection of the created account, and in order to get rid of it, you first need to delete the incorrect account, and then re-create it on your device. After uninstalling, don't forget to restart your device for the changes to take effect!

№ 491

This Google Play services error is due to the inability to uninstall and reinstall the application from a specific account.

For solutions:

  1. First, delete cache entries in Google Play, reboot.
  2. After starting the system, go to the settings menu, select the item "Accounts and sync".
  3. Find your account and click "Delete".
  4. Restart the device again, set a new account value or restore the old one. The service must work.

№ 492

In this scenario, the Dalvik virtual machine, which is running Java-based software, crashed. And in this case, in principle, like the first action in all the others, you need to clear all entries of the created cache in the Google Play and Play Market services from the main settings menu. Alternately clean up and restart.

If these actions did not lead to success, then you can reset all device settings to factory values from the main settings menu. If there is valuable information, then transfer it to a memory card or computer, and only then do a reset.

Error code rh-01

This has been a fairly common problem lately. Solved in several ways. We wrote about this in the article "".

conclusions

These and other types of errors are in most cases corrected by clearing the cache entries. Well, such a view as No. 911 is associated with an unsuccessful attempt to access the Internet via a Wi-Fi wireless network, here you only need to check all the settings and set new values for the entrance.

In cases where the Google Play Market began to “act up”, does not want to download applications, updates errors, or simply does not enter, in most cases it can be brought to reason and made to work as it should. Despite the fact that this manual is written for devices: Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4, it can be used for any Android phones or tablets where the Play Store is available, not necessarily Samsung, just some item names can be called a little to a friend, but I think in general you can figure it out and find a similarity.
One of these points should help, it is not always necessary to complete all the points!

1. Restart your phone (tablet).
Those. turn it off and then turn it back on, how it's done, I think it's easy to understand.

2. Check for device updates
Settings - About device - Software Update - Refresh

3. Check your phone (tablet) for viruses
As with the help of an antivirus on the phone, for example, or any other to your taste, or by connecting it to a computer and checking the antivirus already through the PC

4. Check in your Google account settings whether 2-Step Verification is worth it:

- Safety - 2-Step Verification- must be disabled

5. Update the Play Store application itself by installing the new version from the file -
Do not worry if the version of the installed file is less than the version of the Market that you had before, after a while the Market will update itself to the latest version again.

Before doing this, do not forget to check whether the installation of third-party programs is allowed on the device: Settings - Safety - unknown sources- must be checked

6. Go to Settings - Application Manager
In the tab LOADED find Google Play Store and click on it

Click Clear cache
Click Clear Data
We return to the Application Manager, scroll to the right in the tab ALL
We are looking for a process com.google.process.gapps(it may not be), if it is not there, then everything is fine, try the Market, if there is, go into it and force stop

7. Go to Settings - Application Manager- scroll to the right to the tab ALL- looking for an application Downloads

We go into it and click Clear Data
Clear cache
Force stop (if the application is stopped - Turn it on and then you do not need to turn it off)
If the power button appears after stopping, do not forget to turn on

8. Go to Settings - Application Manager- scroll to the right to the tab ALL- looking for an application Google Accounts

Clear Data
Clear cache

9. Go to Settings - Application Manager- scroll to the right to the tab ALL- are looking for Google Play Store

Sooner or later, almost every user of Android devices encounters system application errors. And one of the most common and hard to fix is a bug in the Google Play Services app. Most often, it occurs after any user action, but sometimes it occurs spontaneously and unexpectedly, as if out of nowhere.

Today we will talk about the causes of the Google Play Services application error and what to do to fix it.

What is Google Play Services

Troubleshooting methods: from simple to complex

Solutions are listed in order of ease of implementation. If one doesn't work, move on to the next. Or just do what you think is best for your situation.

Setting the date and time

Incorrect date and time settings on the device cause many applications to fail to launch, not only Google Play Services. Also, there are often problems with access to Internet resources.

To fix the error, launch "Settings" (Options) on Android, open the "System" section and the "Date and time" subsection. Set the desired indicators manually or synchronize the time over the network.

Clearing the cache and data of Google Play Services and related apps

Launch "Settings", go to the "Device" section and "Applications". Find among them:

  • Google Play Services.
  • Play Store.
  • Google Services Framework.

Open their properties one by one, click "Stop", then "Clear cache" and "Erase data". If the problem occurs after updating these applications, uninstall the updates. Restart your gadget.

Transferring Google Play Services from SD card to device memory (root)

If some of the applications on your phone or tablet are located on the memory card, it is possible that the Services also got there. If so, transfer them back to the device's memory - to the system or user programs folder. For this, use any utility that has the function of transferring programs between drives, for example, Link2SD, Files To SD Card, Move to SDCard or equivalents.

Remove recent installed apps

If the failure occurred after you installed one or more new applications, try uninstalling them one by one. Reboot your device after each uninstall.

Checking for viruses and cleaning the hosts file

An unexpected, spontaneous error in Google Play Services and other system applications may be a sign of a virus infection on the device. Especially if it is accompanied by such characteristic symptoms as:

  • too fast battery discharge;
  • inexplicable shutdowns of functions most often related to security, as well as the inability to change system settings;
  • unavailability of certain resources on the Internet (for example, mail, social networks), advertising banners on web pages, redirects to other sites;
  • ads on the desktop of the device that are not related to applications;
  • spontaneous installation of programs you do not need and the inability to remove them;
  • hidden by calls and SMS messages to unknown numbers;
  • disappearance of funds from the balance of the phone and electronic wallets;
  • sudden removal or disruption of the antivirus.

Our site has already told. But sometimes malware removal alone is not enough, especially when the device is rooted. If a virus has made changes to system files and settings, then they are usually saved and act even in the absence of the root cause.

Some malware writes entries in the hosts file, which stores IP addresses and associated website names, just like on a computer. These entries can also cause a Google Play Services error, so after scanning for viruses, whether they were found or not, you should check the hosts.

User access to the hosts file is possible only on devices where root is obtained. In addition, you will need an explorer application with access to system directories, such as Root Explorer or Total Commander. The required file is located in the /etc folder and has no extension. To open and make changes to it, you need any text editor.

The hosts file consists of a comment block, the lines of which begin with the # sign, and a record block. Comments do not affect anything - they are just reference information, and the entries tell the device at which IP address to look for a particular site on the Internet.

Initially, the second hosts block contains a single entry - 127.0.0.1 localhost, which means that this IP belongs to the device itself. And all sites mapped to 127.0.0.1, it will search on itself.

If you see something other than "127.0.0.1 localhost" in the entry block, delete it.

After saving the file and restarting the device, the Google Play Services error often disappears.

Deleting and re-creating a Google account

They are described in detail in another article on the site, so we will not repeat ourselves. After deletion, create a new account on the device, and then once again clear the cache and data of the Services and related applications, as described above.

Reinstall Services (root)

Reinstallation helps to fix an error that occurred after updating Google Play Services or installing an inappropriate version after a manual uninstall. It is better to download the file suitable for your device from here, since the link contains old, obviously stable versions (how to determine your own, see the section on the causes of the error).

After downloading, the application apk file should be placed in the /system/app (/system/priv-app) or /data/app directory using the same Root Explorer or Total Commander. Next, do not forget to give it read and write permission (on Root Explorer, this is done by touching the button circled in the screenshot so that it switches from R / O to R / W) and run the installation.

After rebooting the device, most likely, the error will no longer bother you.

By the way, if the problem arose after updating the Services, it may recur as soon as the device downloads a new version from the Play Store. Therefore, you may have to disable the installation of its updates. At least until the true culprit of the situation is found out.

Factory reset and flashing

If all your attempts to fix the error have been unsuccessful, the last resort remains - resetting Android to factory settings and flashing it. Resetting is a fairly effective solution for all sorts of system problems, but it will not have the desired effect on rooted phones and tablets. In addition, you will lose personal files and settings. Use it only on non-rooted gadgets and only when you have tried all the simpler ways.

The reset function is available through the "Settings" application - the "System" section - "Recovery and Reset", as well as through the Recovery menu, the opening method of which is usually given on the websites of mobile devices of various brands.

Flashing an Android device is equivalent to reinstalling the operating system on a computer, that is, this is the most radical solution of all that exists. It doesn't matter to her whether the device was rooted or not. After flashing, you will get a pristine system, errors will remain in the past, but you will have to set up and inhabit it again.

The Android operating system is a pleasant and high-quality platform for touchscreen smartphones and tablets. And it is worth paying tribute to Google, with each major update, Android becomes more convenient and understandable to users. However, there are a number of problems that are often encountered on mobile devices, regardless of the model and version of the system. We'll show you how to fix the "Google app has stopped" error.

Problem with Google Play Services

Google Play services are a mandatory and necessary element for the correct operation of the Google Play app store and all applications installed on your smartphone or tablet. If your version of services is out of date, or if you accidentally deleted or corrupted system files, this may cause the application to stop with a "Google app has stopped" error. The solution is simple - just go to the official app store from your gadget and Google Play services. In most cases, it solves the problem.

Clear app cache and data

If you have not updated some program for a long time and then decide to upgrade to a new version (several intermediate versions were skipped), then you may experience an error. To solve the problem, go to the settings, open the list of all installed applications, open the settings of the program you need and clear the cache and delete data. It is worth considering that after deleting data, all your saves in the game or program settings will also be deleted. If this does not help, then try simply uninstalling the program and reinstalling it.

Restoring Android Factory Settings

If the two previous methods did not solve your problem, then you should proceed to more radical methods. Go to settings, "Backup and reset" section and perform a factory reset of Android. It is worth considering that all user data available in the system will be deleted. You can read more about how to reset in our.

The problem of the inoperability of the Play Market (today it is Google Play) is quite unpleasant and thousands of Android device owners face it every day. If this problem has not bypassed you, then in this material you can learn a little knowledge and quickly put your smartphone or tablet in order.

Various errors and failures, due to which the Google Play store may not work, are caused by several reasons, having carefully studied which you can quickly solve your problem and do everything in order not to encounter it again in the future.

Why is Play Store not working for you? Main reasons

Let's analyze the reasons in more detail:

  1. The service doesn't really work. This case is a very rare occurrence. But if it does happen, you just need to wait until his work is resumed.
  2. The device has lost date and time. As a rule, this reason in most cases causes an error with the notice "there is no connection."
  3. There are problems with the network. Make sure the Internet is working and the connection is set up correctly. If you use mobile Internet, we advise you to look at us.
  4. Freedom Program. It always blocks access to Google services.
  5. The hosts file has changed. As a result of installing and using certain applications, such as Freedom mentioned above, some changes occur in the Android system partition, in particular in the hosts file. In this case, the user needs to make a small edit to the file, returning it to its original state. How to do this, look below in this article, which discusses ways to fix this problem.

Ways to resume the functioning of the Play Market

Consider ways to solve the problem, depending on the causes. If you know the cause of the problem, you can immediately choose a solution from the list below. If not, then you have to try all the ways.

  1. Reboot your device. Such a simple action helps in about 50% of cases. By the way, we recommend that you reboot the system if errors occur during the operation of any other programs.
  2. Make sure Google Accounts is turned on. This can be done by going to the "Settings" menu, then to the "Applications" section, and then selecting the "All" tab. Go down to the very bottom, where the disabled programs are located. If here you find "Google Accounts", then just select and turn on and everything should work. Otherwise, read on for other methods.
  3. Reset Google Play Market and Google Play Services. To do this simple operation, you need to go to the settings menu and select the section responsible for managing applications. Next, find these applications in the list and apply “Erase data” and “Clear cache” to each of them. Also, separately for Google Play Market, you need to apply "Uninstall updates".
  4. Reinstall Google Play. First, remove the installed version of Google Play (in older versions of Android, this is the Play Market), and then download the latest version that is currently up to date. Install the program and reboot your device.
  5. Make sure your system is set to the correct time. There are cases in which the date and time go astray. As a result, after attempting to open a store, users often see a "no connection" error. To solve the problem, you need to go to the “Settings” menu, then “Date and time”, and set the real time, date and your time zone.
  6. Check the availability of the Internet connection. Make sure the internet is up and running on your device. Open a browser and try to go to any site.
  7. Set hosts correctly. Many of us use programs that quietly make some changes to the system hosts file. One of the most common such programs is Freedom, with which you can make free in-game purchases using the so-called “fake data”. If you use this utility or something similar, you must first stop its work by going to "Settings" -> "Applications", then find the desired program and click on it. Now select "Stop". Then completely remove.

You must be rooted to edit the hosts file. We recommend using a file manager to search and edit Root Explorer or ES File Explorer.

    Has content like this:

And it should be like this:

All garbage automatically created in this file must be removed. To do this, follow the instructions (using the ES Explorer application as an example):

    - Launch the file manager and go to the root of the system (top level) by pressing the "/" button at the very top of the application window.

    - Find and open the folder called "etc".

    - This folder contains the hosts file we need. Open it as text and delete everything unnecessary in it. Then save and make sure that now there is only one line left with the text 127.0.0.1 localhost.

After this procedure, try to see if the Play Market is working.

  8. Reset the settings to factory settings. We recommend using this method only as a last resort, when no other actions have led to the desired result. The fact is that as a result of such a procedure, all information is deleted from the internal memory of the device and it would be nice to have a backup copy in order to resume your data later.

To reset, go to "Settings" and select "Backup and reset", and in it the item "Data reset" (in earlier versions of Android: "Privacy" -> "Data reset").

The Play Store is a very powerful app and content service for the Android mobile platform, which is operated by Google. If it does not work on your smartphone or tablet, then most likely you have experienced one of the problems described above, since hundreds of specialists are constantly responsible for the technical condition of this service.

If nothing works or maybe you know other ways to solve this problem, please communicate below in the comments, helping other users.
