The iphone needs cooling 5s before using flash. Iphone camera not working

Apple smartphones are unconditionally high-quality devices that have good technical support from developers. Of course, many problems do not require a long search for solutions, because many articles and guides are already available on the Apple website. But it so happens that the provided instructions are scattered separately and finding the right solution is still a challenge.

Let's go over the highlights
When you find this problem, it should be borne in mind that in iPhones, the camera and the flashlight are quite closely related to each other, and a malfunction of one element can lead to violations of the robots of the other. Therefore, here are some tips for "first" aid for your phone:

  • Try switching cameras from front to back and vice versa several times.
  • Lightly press down with your finger in the place where the camera is located (the whole thing may be in the loose contacts).
  • Close all applications that require a camera or flashlight, and then try using the camera again.
  • Try activating power saving mode. To do this, go to the settings of the smartphone, select the battery, where enable the power saving mode.

Deep preparation
The above methods can, of course, not help everyone, so let's look at more complex ways to solve the problem that has appeared:

  • Try it.
  • Restore the latest up-to-date firmware using.
  • If you are not afraid, you can try to remove the back cover of the phone and check if the camera cables are well connected and if the battery is in order.

When this problem occurs, it is important to check all methods to find out the cause of the error. In the most extreme case, you can take the phone to a service center, where specialists will try to fix it for you for money.

Hey! Just recently, I had to update an iPhone 5S on iOS 10 to one friend and everything would be fine, but ... then I would not write this article :) In general, the next day he came to me and said literally the following: “At Apple all rascals. They artificially make the devices obsolete - they force them to buy new ones. Look, after the update my rear camera stopped working (there is now always a black screen), and the flashlight does not turn on, it constantly writes about some kind of overheating, although the device is completely cold. "

I can certainly believe that Apple is somehow being forced to buy their new gadgets (for example, adding new chips). But not as barbaric - a simple update breaking cameras. Therefore, it was decided to try to fix this ailment and ... it worked! How? I'll tell you now, let's go!

From the very beginning, it should be noted that, with regards to this problem, the rear camera and the flashlight are dependent on each other. The camera will show a black screen, and when the flash is turned on, it will be written: “Flash is off. Cooling is required before using the iPhone flash. " This is, so to speak, the main symptom.

So, first of all, I climbed to look and see what people write about this. It turns out that the Apple forum already has a whole thread dedicated to this ailment. And there will be enough such “lucky ones” (with the camera not starting after the update) for the whole town. True, it mainly deals with the iPhone 5, but the 5S, as well as other gadgets on iOS, are also mentioned. Here are some tips and actions we managed to spy on - after completing them, the camera worked again for some:

  1. Enable or disable power saving mode ().
  2. Switch cameras (front to back) several times. Until the black screen disappears and it starts to turn on.
  3. Apply a little pressure around the camera (very carefully!).
  4. Close all applications that might be using the camera and try again.
  1. We do a hard reset of the gadget. How?
  2. the latest up-to-date firmware.

If this does not help, then you will have to climb inside the gadget. There will be a little advice here - in the event that the device is under warranty, you shouldn't do it yourself. ... And remember that for the PCT iPhone the warranty period in Russia is 2 years (and not one as many people think) -.

If the skills of assembly and disassembly are not alien to you, then we check and turn on / off:

  • Camera loop.
  • Battery.

Perhaps they just moved away after a fall or other blow. If the phone has been unofficially restored, reassembled, or has undergone some kind of "handicraft" repair, then very often it can be noted that there is no special film on the cables, which allows you to securely fix the cable in the connector. And at the slightest fall, it simply falls out.

Even if everything is in place and it seems to you that they are firmly installed to the end, to solve the inoperative flash and black screen when the camera starts up, you need to pull them out and insert them. Yes, a simple reconnection is enough in most cases.

It worked in our case as well - as a result, it turned out that the friend's phone fell several times and the camera cable simply went away.

It should be noted here that a friend bought an iPhone 5S on the market and who, how, and from what assembled it - we naturally do not know. In any case, if on the previous version of iOS this did not prevent the camera from starting normally, then after the update something went wrong and instead of the subject we saw a solid black screen.

I hope that you will not get to disassembling the device and making the camera with a flashlight work in other, simpler ways. Although there is nothing complicated in the last version, you just need to act carefully and not break anything else :)

P.S. There is one more secret way to solve the problem - we put "like" and everything is "OK"!

If the camera on the iPhone does not work, then the possibilities for the full use of the device are limited. The reasons for the malfunction may be different, but there are effective ways to restore the smartphone's performance on your own.

Causes of malfunctions

During the active use of the iPhone, unforeseen circumstances may occur, as a result of which the front or rear cameras fail. The camera does not work as a result of exposure to such factors:

  • the presence of viruses in the device
  • liquid entering the smartphone
  • It so happens that the front camera works, and when you switch to the main one, a dark screen appears. This may indicate a malfunction of some parts in the phone, but sometimes software glitches are the source of the problem.

Signs of failure of smartphone functions

If, when you turn on the camera, the screen says “the flash is off, the device needs cooling for its operation,” although there was no overheating, this is a clear sign of a breakdown. In addition, there are a number of factors that can indicate that the camera is not working. Here are some of them:

    • camera turns on for a long time
    • black screen visible
    • photos are blurry, wrong color rendition
    • the flashlight does not turn on
    • the camera freezes when turned on
    • no flash
    • the application disappeared

To find out the reason why blurry photos are obtained, the image is poorly focused, the camera has completely stopped working, you can perform several actions yourself or use the services of professionals.

How to restore full functionality of the smartphone on your own?

If your phone is under warranty, then it is better to contact a service center to restore functions.

To independently start a camera that is frozen after an update, does not turn on after a fall, reports that cooling is required, you can perform some effective tricks.

Close the app from the multitasking screen and launch it again from the home page. If this does not help, then try turning on (off) the power-saving mode in your mobile device and switch cameras from front to external until the dark screen disappears. You can also:

    • restart the device (simultaneously hold the "Home" and "Sleep" buttons until the "apple" logo appears)
    • perform a full factory reset
    • install the current firmware via DFU mode

If these actions did not solve the problem, then the cause of the malfunction is mechanical damage to the parts. A cable or battery may have come off. In this case, the smartphone needs repair.

If you have knowledge and experience in restoring camera functionality, you can disassemble and repair the device yourself. Otherwise, you will only aggravate the breakdown and increase the cost of repairs.

To independently disassemble the iPhone case, you need a set of special tools (miniature screwdrivers, auxiliary tweezers, a plastic spatula, a suction cup, etc.). Disassembling a smartphone is carried out in several stages:

    • the back cover is removed
    • the screen rises and unscrews from the motherboard
    • the battery is disconnected
    • the board is dismantled, the fasteners to the case are unscrewed
    • the attachment points of the loop with the camera are checked

If the phone is dropped, the cable connecting the camera to the system board may come off, as a result of which you can see a black screen on the iPhone.

After disassembling the phone, reconnect the camera module, check the reliability of the connections. Then assemble the smartphone and test the operation of the mobile device. If the camera turns on, takes pictures and the pictures are normal, then the problem has been fixed.

When all mounts are in place, but the screen shows a closed lens or a dark background, you need to diagnose the Apple device. A qualified technician will be able to determine the exact cause of the malfunction.

Benefits of professional help from specialists

In service centers, masters repair Apple devices of all models. The duration, price and quality of the repair depends on which specialist you turn to for help. If the camera does not work on iPhone, a qualified technician will do the following:

    • smartphone diagnostics
    • assessment of the performance of all functions, if necessary, their adjustment
    • replacement of damaged parts (glass, flash, cables, etc.) with original
    • cleaning the smartphone body from dust, lens glass from stains and streaks
    • checking the functionality of the camera after repair

To identify the cause of the malfunction, the craftsmen use professional equipment and special tools. They know how to efficiently replace required parts.

IPhone owners simply adore this smartphone, because the workmanship of Apple products is at its best. The hardware platform is efficient, and the software environment is well thought out and has rich functionality. However, like any modern high-tech device, the iPhone finds itself in a variety of situations and modes of use. Users are faced with various situations, do not know what to do if the Iphone stops charging, is blocked, does not turn on, or displays various system messages. Let's try to figure out what to do with your iPhone in such cases.

What to do if iPhone won't turn on

There may be several reasons for this - a software or hardware failure - a malfunction of the bootloader or iOS, damage to the device, hypothermia of the smartphone and loss of battery power, malfunction of the battery or charging connector, charger. There can be many reasons why the iPhone does not turn on.

What to do if you forgot your iPhone password

The solutions to this problem depend on which of the passwords you forgot. The device has passwords for iPhone restrictions, a lock screen password, and a password for your personal Apple ID account. The settings password can be reset without losing information. Consider resetting a forgotten lock screen password. First of all, you can try to guess the password, despite the limited number of attempts. If you can't remember, then you have to use iTunes and the Internet. If the internet is fast, you can download the firmware and restore the iPhone by resetting the lock password. Without the Internet, you can use the firmware downloaded in advance. After resetting the iPhone password and restoring the firmware, all information will disappear from the phone.

What to do if iPhone won't charge

First of all, you should try to charge your iPhone using a known working charger. If that didn't work, connect your iPhone to your computer via a cable. If the computer does not see the iPhone and the smartphone does not charge, most likely the phone's power connector is broken or there is a problem with the power controller.

iPhone is disabled - what to do?

A similar problem is usually observed in those who have found an iPhone, when the real owner remotely locks the device. The message that the iPhone is disabled may contain several message options:

    1. Try again in N minutes - if you enter the lock screen password incorrectly several times.
    2. iPhone is disconnected connect to iTunes - this message is possible on some firmware versions.

    IPhone needs cooling before using

Users receive a similar message when their iPhone overheats in the sun, in a closed car, near open sources of fire or high temperatures. Developers from Apple have provided one of the possible options for using the phone when the iPhone is in unsuitable conditions. The electronics reads the temperature readings of the battery and microcircuits, blocks the active use of the device in order to avoid damage to the electronic components of the device. If a message appears about the need to cool the iPhone, it is enough to cool the device, after which the message about the problem will disappear.

How do you like it? -

One day, you may face the fact that the main camera of the Apple iPhone 5S does not work. It happens that at the same time the flash, flashlight and front camera also do not work. The reasons why the camera doesn't work on the iPhone 5S are quite different. In this article, we will look at different cases and, most importantly, fix the camera ourselves.

In the iPhone 5S device, the front camera, flash, flashlight and front camera are interconnected. When the camera iPhone is not working, when you press it, a black screen appears and displays the entry: "iPhone needs cooling before using flash." This is an indication that the flash on the iPhone 5 is not working.

To get started, try starting the hard reboot mode, simultaneously holding down two buttons - Power and Home for 10 seconds until the apple logo appears, after a minute turn on the device.

If that doesn't work, try updating your content by resetting all settings on your iPhone to factory defaults. But before that, do not forget to copy all data from the iPhone through iTunes, if the data is more than 5 Gigabytes, to another device. Or upload files to the cloud using the iCloud program if the storage of the backed up data is more than 5 Gigabytes. After resetting the iPhone, try starting the camera, but if it does not work, then the problem is apparently different.

Some are helped by updating iOS to version 10 to reset the system error due to old software. But this does not always help, if it is not a system error, but still a technical breakdown on the iPhone 5 or iPhone 6.

Eliminating the causes of camera iPhone 5S breakage

As a rule, the reason for a non-working flash can be the fall of the iPhone, moisture getting into it, failure of the board or microcircuit, the unsuitability of the flash itself. You need to know how to clean the camera on the iPhone 5. In any case, in order to find exactly your reason for the non-working iPhone camera, you still have to disassemble the device.

To do this, we will arm ourselves with tools: a plastic pick or spatula, a special set of screwdrivers, tweezers, a suction cup with a ring for opening the display, a rubber mat and containers for bolts, so as not to confuse which one when reassembling.

After all the tools are ready, turn off the iPhone 5S by first putting out the SIM card, holding down the Power button and the Home button at the same time for 10-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears, as well as the shutdown sound.

Using a special Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two bolts on the bottom end panel of the iPhone, near the connector. Then we attach a suction cup with a ring to the glass of the screen in the middle from the bottom, above the Home button, and, holding the smartphone by the body with one hand, gently and smoothly pull the ring of the suction cup with the other hand to separate the screen from the rest of the iPhone. If the screen does not immediately give way, carefully, without damaging the case, push the sharp end of the pick into the lower slot in order to pass it around the perimeter of the display in order to help unfasten the latches, now gently pull the ring again.

Do not forget that the iPhone 5S has the screen fastened with a fingerprint sensor cable from the side of the opening, near the touchscreen. Therefore, do not lift the screen at a right angle without first unfastening the cable using tweezers or a plastic spatula.

After the lower ribbon cable is disconnected, it is necessary to detach the upper ribbon cables that attach the sensor and cameras. Sometimes at such a moment, you can visually determine that the camera cable was already disconnected, apparently when the iPhone fell, the latch shifted and the cable was detached, therefore, most likely, the camera does not work either. Then you need not to disassemble the iPhone further, but, on the contrary, carefully connect all the cables in the reverse order and, without tightening the bolts, turn on the iPhone. On the touch screen, try to turn on the non-working flash, if it works (turns on and off, the flashlight works), then the breakdown has been eliminated at this stage. It remains to assemble the iPhone by tightening the bolts.

    Chip repair

But the problem is not always so easy to fix. If you connected all the cables, and the camera did not work, then the breakdown is more serious and we disassemble the iPhone further. Having detached all the cables, he unscrews the bolts on the side panels of the smartphone, on which the iPhone display is attached to the body.

We remove the protective film around the flash and disconnect the camera cable itself, and then take it out. If, upon visual examination, it is determined that the camera is working, we reconnect it, it is possible that the problem is in the contacts or the microcircuit. Usually, if the iPhone has been disassembled more than once, then the protective film is removed and now, with a slight shake, the camera cable easily snaps off and flies out. Therefore, it is important to keep the protective film on the camera.

The next step is to unscrew the bolts holding the battery. And then we remove the bolts from the microcircuit boards. We take out the tray from under the SIM card. We take out the microcircuit and unfasten the antenna. We install the microcircuit itself on a special holder-clip and with a special device for cleaning the boards we warm up the microcircuit in the area of the camera, having previously installed a pair of radiators to remove heat.

After that, using a special napkin and tweezers, we clean the connections on the microcircuit, gently wipe the glass plates and let the board cool. Next, we connect the board to its place in the iPhone, snapping all the cables in the reverse order and tightening all the bolts in place with a Phillips screwdriver. Next, start the camera by turning on the iPhone. If the camera turns on when you touch its icon, then the problem has been fixed.

If the camera does not turn on again, then the circuit is broken somewhere and therefore power (charge) is not supplied to the board. Using the device, we will establish where there is weak power on the microcircuit or is completely absent. For example, when ringing a circuit, an inoperative capacitor or track can be detected. Then it is necessary to establish contact by replacing the capacitor with a working one and re-soldering the connection.

After performing these manipulations, do not forget to ring the microcircuit for a short circuit. If everything is in order, you can install the microcircuit in place by connecting all the cables in the right order, installing the film in place and fixing the bolts. After that, we turn on the iPhone, and also start the camera in order to check its working condition. As a rule, after this procedure, the cameras resume their work - front and rear.
