Oukitel U15 Pro: review and real reviews. Oukitel U15 Pro specs review: everything is good except MTK6753 Main parameters of Oukitel U15 Pro

The Oukitel U15 Pro phone is developed by a company that has won the recognition of users and popularity in the market. Mobile devices from this company offer good value for money, and the hardware is up to today's standards.

When developing its phones, the company focuses on the needs of users who cannot afford expensive flagship devices from famous manufacturers.

Among the popular models of the company, the Oukitel K4000 Pro and K10000 devices can be distinguished. Ultra-budget phones include the Oukitel U7 Plus and U15 Pro.

Description and features

For the Oukitel U15 Pro smartphone, the review was created to evaluate the capabilities of the model and compare it with competitors.

The phone comes in a small orange cardboard box. The box is pleasant to the touch, but it does not contain unusual design solutions.

On the front side you can see the name of the company.

On the reverse side there is a sticker describing the technical characteristics of the phone, with the name of the model and information about the rights of the buyer.

Under the lid of the box, the Oukitel U15 Pro smartphone is hidden, protected by a silicone case. The protective film is installed on the display by default.

There is no cardboard backing inside the box, but the packaging is strong enough so that the smartphone is not damaged during transportation.

The inside of the box is divided into several small compartments that contain the power adapter, microUSB cable, SIM eject tool, and user manual.

The small charger is adapted for European type sockets. The transparent silicone case will protect your smartphone from damage. Headphones are not included, but this is considered the norm for budget Chinese devices.

The phone has a simple design and does not stand out from other mobile devices.

The dark body has a strict form.

Individual elements resemble other Oukitel devices.

The back cover of the smartphone is not removable, since the case is one-piece.

This is a metal cover, but you can see plastic inserts in its upper and lower parts, which provide good cellular signal reception.

There is a small bevel between metal and plastic.

Build quality meets Oukitel standards. During operation, the user will not find any squeaks and backlashes. The back panel does not get dirty too quickly, but if necessary, it can be wiped with a soft cloth.

The smartphone has a large display, but it is quite compact and fits comfortably in your hand. The phone does not slip out of the palm, because the plastic is quite sticky. The following body colors are available:

  • gray back cover and black front panel;
  • golden cover and white panel;
  • pink cover and white panel.

At the top are light and proximity sensors, a speaker for conversations, a notification indicator and a front camera.

The bright indicator LED lights up smoothly.

Below the screen are 3 touch keys, but they are not backlit.

On the reverse side, you can see a large camera lens in a metal frame that protrudes forward.

A double flash is installed nearby.

Under the lens is a fingerprint scanner that can remember several different fingers.

The scanner does not always work after the first press.

On the right side there are buttons for turning on the device and adjusting the volume. These are metal keys that are pressed with a characteristic click.

On the left side there is a slot for installing SIM-cards. Instead of a second card, you can install a microSD drive. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top.

Characteristics and specification

The phone has a 5.5-inch IPS display with HD resolution. OGS technology is not used in this case.

The pixel density is 267 PPI (this indicator was considered the standard in 2016). The picture on the display is well perceived and does not strain the eyes.

The display matrix provides a normal level of detail suitable for everyday use.

Thanks to the IPS matrix, the viewing angle is wide. By the standards of a budget smartphone, color reproduction looks natural.

The screen sensor recognizes no more than 5 touches. Touches to the display are recognized clearly, the software shell responds to them quickly.

The backlight is equally uniform for white and dark backgrounds.

If you look at the display at an angle, the white color may be slightly distorted.

While viewing photos, this distortion is difficult to detect.

The smartphone screen was tested using the X-Rite ColorMunki Display colorimeter.

The test showed that the contrast values are far beyond the norm, and the margin of brightness is lower than that of many other smartphones.

It will be difficult to use this phone in bright sunlight. The anti-glare performance of the screen is average.

Minimal illumination is implemented well. In the dark, information from the display is read without problems, since it does not blind the eyes.

The color lines are located side by side, and this is a good indicator for a budget matrix. The colors are stable throughout the graph and are kept at a uniform distance from each other.

The color temperature is a little high, but there are no sharp jumps on the graph. Temperature deviations do not negatively affect the perception of the image.

Critical excesses of the color range within the RGB triangle were not found, but there are slight deviations of the green, blue and red channels.

Inside, an 8-core MediaTek MT6753 Cortex-A53 processor with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz is installed. The graphics are processed by the Mali-T720 chip.

The amount of RAM is 3 GB, which is a good indicator for a budget smartphone. The phone processes several tasks at the same time.

Even if you run 4-5 different programs at the same time, at least 1.5 GB of memory will be free.

Smartphone performance is enough for comfortable everyday use.

There are no problems with surfing the Internet, the interface works without delay. The user gets the ability to quickly switch between applications.

The phone handles games much worse. The user can play simple arcade applications, but complex 3D applications require more powerful hardware.

The smartphone works stably, its case does not heat up much even at maximum loads.

The operating system receives updates through the notification menu. No problems with localization were found, the translation into Russian was done with high quality.

The amount of permanent memory is 32 GB, but only 27 GB is available to the user.

File storage can be expanded with a microSD memory card up to 128 GB, but in this case, the second slot for the SIM card will be occupied.

It will take 1.5-2 hours to charge the device using the power adapter.

With moderate use, the battery lasts for a day, but provided that the display is turned on for no more than 5-6 hours.

In economy mode, when the communication modules are disabled and the display brightness is set to medium or minimum, the phone can work up to 3 days.

In standby mode, the smartphone consumes 8-10% of the charge per day.

The resolution of the rear camera with phase detection autofocus is 16 megapixels, front - 5 megapixels. It feels like a resolution of 16 megapixels is achieved through interpolation, but the manufacturer does not confirm this information.

The camera app offers a standard interface with all the necessary settings.

The lens provides an average level of detail, but the image quality is poor and doesn't match the claimed 16MP resolution.

The advantages include the absence of problems with focusing, the correct white balance and realistic color reproduction.

In poor lighting conditions, the user will not be able to create high-quality pictures.

The front lens is suitable for video calls, but the quality of the selfies created will be average.

If you take a picture of the text from the book, it will be a little blurry, but distinguishable and readable. The U15 Pro smartphone is not the best choice for photo and video lovers.

Tests and comparisons

The multimedia capabilities of the phone are limited. AnTuTu Video Tester showed that many video formats are not supported.

To play complex formats, you will need to install a third-party player with the necessary set of codecs.

YouTube videos play without problems. The quality of sound and picture can be regarded as average.

The phone was tested in RMAA using an ASUS Xonar U7 sound card, but the signal level when calibrated was -13.1 to -15.6 dB.

This is a low score that failed to complete the test. However, for its class, the smartphone reproduces sound well and provides sufficient volume margin.

During the playback of musical compositions, no extraneous noise was noticed, but the sound is much inferior to expensive flagship devices.

The speaker for calls is quite loud, it is well located on the case. The melody is well heard if the phone is on a flat surface, but in the pocket the sound is too muffled.

The clarity of the sound depends on the set volume level (at the maximum value, extraneous noise appears).

The microphone transmits speech qualitatively, the interlocutor hears all the words clearly. The speaker for calls is loud enough. We can conclude that the device copes with the functions of the phone perfectly.

Oukitel is a Chinese company that has recently become a popular manufacturer of budget smartphones. But the company did not have significant promotions for several years of existence. Right now is the time for Oukitel to compete with the famous Chinese brands, and these are Xiaomi and Meizu.

Main parameters of Oukitel U15 Pro

The Oukitel U15 Pro is a metal body smartphone that costs around $130. Of course, it is difficult to buy something worthy for such a sum in our time, but for a 5.5-inch device with 3 GB of RAM, it becomes a good idea to make a purchase.

Numerous budget Chinese gadgets run on MediaTek processors, in fact, the U15 Pro has a model installed - MTK6753. This processor has a frequency of 1.3 GHz with a good graphics accelerator called - ARM Mali T720. Thus, we see high performance without any freezes, which means that you can run several applications and test the device.

Built-in memory has a drive of 32 gigabytes, but if you want to increase the amount of file storage, then feel free to install a memory card up to 128 GB.

The gadget has 5.5 inch screen, which has a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, in which, although there is no Full HD, it has a decent level of quality.

Design Preferences

This smartphone is available in three color options, and these are gold, rose gold and silver. You can also pay attention to the back of the panel and the side edges, which clearly remind us of the sixth version of the iPhone, but this is not a sin, because many smartphones have already adopted this feature.

On the front of the panel, we can see three control keys with a sensor, as well as a front camera and a speaker. The most interesting thing is on the back side, where there is a good camera with a flash, a bulging Oukitel logo, and a place for a touch fingerprint.

Pros and cons of the device

  • Runs on a modern version of Android OS 6 version called Marshmallow;
  • There is an eight-core processor;
  • The rear camera of the device produces high-quality pictures with good saturation;
  • Protected by impact-resistant glass with 2.5D effect;
  • 3 GB of RAM helps you work productively without any delay.
  • The display diagonal is 5.5 inches, and its resolution is only 1280x720, where the creators had the opportunity to slightly raise the bar;
  • Overestimated number of megapixels on the main camera;
  • No fast charging for non-removable 3000 mAh battery;
  • The clock frequency is 1.3 GHz, better from 1.5 GHz;

In China, the specifications of Oukitel U15 Pro were announced today. This inexpensive phablet with a screen diagonal of 5.5 inches will receive 3 Gb of RAM, an MTK6753 processor from MediaTek and a 32 Gb flash drive.

It is expected that the U15 Pro display will receive a fairly good matrix with a resolution of 720 × 1280, which will be protected by impact-resistant glass with a 2.5D effect that is fashionable among the Chinese in our time.

The “fly in the ointment” in this rather poor budget smartpad is the MediaTek MTK6753 chipset. This "alien" from 2014 has a very mediocre performance, and its only plus is the support for 4G LTE, though only Cat. 4.

In addition, the Oukitel novelty does not operate at full capacity: the clock frequency is 1.3 GHz against the maximum possible 1.5 GHz.

However, this disadvantage can be completely balanced by the affordable price of Oukitel U15 Pro, which has not yet been named. In general, MediaTek now has more interesting and productive solutions, with support for fast charging and better parameters for accessing LTE networks.

But the U15 Pro is equipped with a whopping 3 Gb of Samsung-made RAM, and the built-in storage capacity is “quite adult” 32 Gb. The latter, if necessary, can be expanded by installing a MicroSD memory card up to 128 Gb.

Despite its obviously budget positioning, Oukitel U15 Pro received a fingerprint scanner with a response speed of 0.1 s. It is located, as is usually the case with the "Chinese", on the back cover under the camera.

As for the latter, Oukitel claims a fairly solid 16-megapixel main camera module for the U15 Pro. The resolution of the selfie camera will be 5 Mp.

The main thing is to do without a software-inflated number of megapixels. Unfortunately, inexpensive smartphones from the Celestial Empire often “suffer” from this.

The battery of the Oukitel U15 Pro is non-removable and has a capacity of 3000 mAh. It will take a long time to fully charge, since the MTK6753 lacks the ability to quickly charge.

The device allows you to install two nano-SIM SIM cards, regardless of the MicroSD slot. The unequivocal "plus" of the smartphone.

The novelty is running almost “pure” Android 6.0 Marshmallow with minor customization, which for many is more of a plus than a minus.

The body of the U15 Pro is made of metal. Dimensions are 153.2 x 78.0 x 8.7 mm with a rather impressive weight of 201.1 grams.

The price of Oukitel U15 Pro has not yet been announced, but given its characteristics, in our opinion, it should not exceed $125. Otherwise, there are many far more advanced alternatives to the gadget.

The Chinese electronics manufacturer recently introduced a new budget smartphone called the U15 PRO. Moreover, the manufacturer claims that this is the most affordable smartphone on the market, powered by an 8-core processor. What else can boast of a novelty? Let's figure it out!

Specifications and performance

The smartphone is powered by an 8-core processor Mediatek MTK6753, its clock frequency is 1.3 GHz. There is plenty of RAM – 3 GB, and internal – 32 GB, which is increased by another 128 GB using a microSD memory card. The smartphone has all the necessary wireless modules, including GPS. For security, there is a fingerprint scanner. Battery capacity - 3000 mAh.

Despite the 8 cores in the main chip, its clock speed is only 1.3 GHz, and this already tells us about the budget segment. Nevertheless, the device can effectively cope with the daily tasks assigned to it. Full HD video is played without problems, you can run some voracious games on such hardware.

Appearance

The Chinese manufacturer did not "reinvent the wheel". Oukitel U15 Pro is almost a copy of the Apple iPhone 6, even the body colors are the same: gold, rose gold, gray. The good news is that not only the design was copied, but also the materials - the case is made of metal, and it is assembled very soundly. On the back, where there should be an "apple" logo, there is a fingerprint scanner.

The device is assembled qualitatively, there are no backlashes and squeaks. To bend the device, thread through to make maximum effort. By modern standards, Oukitel U15 Pro is far from the largest smartphone, it will not be difficult to use it with one hand.

Screen

The 5-inch screen is made using IPS technology, and its resolution is HD. Display manufactured by Sharp with 2.5D protective glass to prevent damage. Given the cost of Oukitel U15 Pro, the installed screen can be called excellent. The brightness range is enough to work under any conditions, the viewing angles are close to the maximum. The colors are natural, and the multi-touch easily responds to five simultaneous touches.

Camera

The main camera has 13 MP optics. The possibility of software interpolation is provided, but the quality of the images does not improve from this. However, the camera itself can not boast of outstanding pictures. Perfectly clear, noise-free and natural color photographs can only be obtained in sunlight. In the evening and indoors, the quality drops significantly.

The front-facing 2-megapixel camera is great for video calls. You can use it to make self-portraits, but they will not differ in high quality.

Results

The new model from Oukitel is a great workhorse, without a hint of premium, except for the design, of course! Oukitel U15 Pro has no outstanding features, but no critical flaws either. You can buy Oukitel U15 Pro at a price of $110.

Video review Oukitel U15 Pro

One of the flagship novelties of Oukitel in autumn 2016 is Oukitel U15 Pro. Keeping the modest appearance of other U-series smartphones, the manufacturer presented the top-end stuffing for the coming years and used components from famous suppliers. The sharp screen, plenty of memory, powerful processor, and many features make the U15 Pro a great choice for Android enthusiasts who are passionate about technology. All this for 6000 - 7000 rubles. depending on the configuration.

Appearance

The large Oukitel U15 Pro phablet does not stand out from its competitors in the lineup. Smooth edges, metallic plastic housing, large screen and standard port placement. Elegance is added by 2.5D glass, rounded to the edges and turning into a body with an aluminum frame. The configuration of the phone repeats the flagships of famous brands.

The case is non-separable, assembled without backlash and cracks. The battery is non-removable, and the flash drive and SIM cards are installed in a combined tray, which is removed from the end of the case using a special paper clip. A fingerprint scanner stands out in the center of the rear panel, and an event indicator diode is located next to the camera. The system buttons are touch sensitive, not illuminated.

The phone is available in three colors: gray, gold (Champagne Gold) and pink. With gray and metallic gold, the front panel under the glass is black, while the pink edition is white. In general, this is in line with the consumer - metallic pink is likely to appeal to the weaker sex.

Processor and video accelerator

Compared to other budget smartphones, the U15 Pro stands out in terms of performance. Octa-core MediaTek MT6753 on the Cortex A53 instruction set. 8 cores operate at a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz. This processor is on many "budget flagships" and is in good standing with fans of games and graphics. The additional Mali T-720 video chip is a little old, but many applications have been optimized for it, which allows the U15 Pro to show very good results in synthetic tests.

Memory

RAM for this price segment is surprising. 3GB of RAM is the standard for big brands, not startup Oukitel. This volume is enough for games and for any application. The amount of permanent memory is also impressive - 32 GB of internal memory and support for SD cards up to 128 GB in size.

Screen

All Oukitel smartphones feature high-quality screens with excellent viewing angles. The U15 Pro does not stand out from the traditions either, only it also contains components not from local manufacturers, but a matrix from the eminent Japanese company SHARP.

Screen size 5.5”, resolution 1280*720 pixels. The pixel density is low, but the high color reproduction and brightness leave an exceptionally positive impression. A 5-touch touchscreen made using OGS technology. The screen is pleasant to the touch, but the glass is not tempered - therefore, a protective film glued from the factory is only a plus.

Camera

The front camera is standard for most Oukitel models - 5 megapixels (interpolated from 2 MP). But the main camera is more interesting - as many as 16 megapixels! However, unlike other models, the camera manufacturer is not Sony, and it does not capture very well indoors and on the move. However, for bright and high-quality photos from rest and nature, it fits perfectly.

In terms of the advantages of the camera, one can name software autofocus and triggering the camera by gesture.

Connection

Two SIM cards in simultaneous standby mode support Russian 4G / LTE networks, a fast processor and a reliable network module allows you to maintain high speed and use the modern transmission standard "to its fullest".

SIM cards are installed in the universal tray, one microSIM and one nanoSIM. One of the SIM cards can be replaced with an SD flash drive up to 128 GB. There are no complaints about the quality and speed of Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi either.

Navigation on three sets of satellites - GPS, GLONASS and Beidou (Chinese satellite constellation). On the territory of the Russian Federation, GPS and GLONASS are quickly caught, satellites are not lost, and A-GPS helps in bad weather and in urban areas.

OS and features

In 2016, all Oukitel U15 Pro shipments came with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In 2017, the company announced that the model is in the top 7 for the transition to Android 7.0 Nougat. Beta firmware has already been released on Nougat, and a full-fledged release of 7.0 for U15 Pro is just around the corner.

The fingerprint sensor on the back is processed by stock Android apps and is fast enough. Of the additional functions of the system, it is worth highlighting:

  • HotKnot is a "near-field" data transfer from Chinese developers that uses touching the screens of two phones, an interesting replacement for Bluetooth;
  • OTG - connection of external devices via microUSB slot;
  • OTA - firmware update (including the transition to a new version of Android) without connecting to a computer, "over the air";
  • Breath Light - a soft pulsating glow of the indicator so that the phone can be found in the dark;
  • Clip photos - photos with sound, a function similar to live photos from Apple.

A standard set of class A sensors - proximity, gravity, light.

Battery

The battery is small - 3000 mAh, but it is enough for a full day of active use. The battery is saved due to a powerful processor with 8 cores - they are activated as needed and a small resolution - it would take a lot more energy to maintain FullHD. The phone takes about four hours to charge.

The battery is produced by another eminent supplier - SCUD, whose products are recognized not only by Chinese brands. In addition, Oukitel is known for claiming “honest” battery sizes, and real users often talk about two days of active use and games.

Equipment

Despite the high parameters of the phone itself, the Oukitel U15 Pro package has remained quite modest. Inside the traditional orange box with a separate pocket for a smartphone, the buyer will find:

  • Smartphone;
  • Protective film pasted at the factory;
  • Silicone case, already dressed on the phone;
  • Paperclip to open the combo card tray;
  • Charger 5V/1A;
  • microUSB cord.

Unfortunately, there are no headphones and an OTG cable - you should order them in an expanded configuration from a seller on Aliexpress.
