Sometimes our blind users are interested in what program can be used to make them say the name or number of an incoming call? So on Samsung S3, Android 4.3, no additional software is required for this. There is quite a decent built-in solution that you just need to simply turn on.

You can also enable it differently, through the notification panel. On the notification panel, you need to find the "Handsfree mode" icon, which enables / disables this setting. For some reason it seems to me that this setting refers to the S-voice application, who is not in the subject, such an application is a built-in voice assistant. If you have this application pre-installed, then in all likelihood the driving mode will be in place.

In general, we set the desired switch in the "Driving Mode" section to the "ON" position. And check the boxes for the items that you need the most.

  3. Alarm clock - Speak alarm information when an alarm goes off;
  4. Schedules - Speak details of a scheduled event when an alarm is triggered;

After the "Incoming call" setting is enabled, the smartphone will say the name or phone number three times with the ringtone fading out and with a short interval between notifications. If suddenly, for some reason, this mode does not work correctly, then as one of the options in the talkBack settings, try unchecking "Voice Caller ID".

I also discovered such a thing that with the help of the Vocalizer Expressive engine, you can make the pronunciation of the incoming name / number in the voice of Yuri. For example, you use the default voice of Milena, and the name / number will be pronounced by Yuri. Or you can also do it in reverse voice order. To do this, go to the parameters of the TTS module of the engine. Next, select the "Settings for VocalizerEx TTS" section, where in the "Russian" item we select Milena, and in the "Russian (Russia)" item we put Yuri. We go back one step, there we select the section "Language - the choice of voice for pronouncing the text for a specific language" and mark the flag "Russian". After that, by default, you will have Milena, and the incoming call will be played by Yuri. If you need to do it in the reverse order, then in the "Settings for VocalizerEx TTS" section, change the voices in the "Russian" and "Russian (Russia)" items in places.

By the way, with the SmartVoice engine, this also works. To do this, press the "Open TTS module parameters" button, go to "Settings for SmartVoice", in the "Setting automatic language switching" section, check that all the boxes are unchecked there. In addition, in the paragraph "Preferred language for pronouncing the Latin alphabet" English was chosen. This is necessary in order for the English text to be pronounced by the English voice speech synthesizer, and not by Russian. Smartphones on Windows Phone and Android platforms have a special “Driving Mode” that can be activated when a Bluetooth headset is connected. Driving Mode is meant to encourage safe driving, but if you need to turn it off for any reason then that task is easily accomplished on any of the platforms.

This mode can be switched on spontaneously for several reasons, both hardware and software. Consider all possible options.

Method 1: Android Auto

Not so long ago, Google released a special shell for using a device with a "green robot" in a car, called Android Auto. This application is launched either automatically when connected to the car's systems, or manually by the user. In the first case, this mode should also be deactivated automatically, while in the second case, you need to leave it yourself. Signing out of Android Auto is very simple - follow these steps:

In its early days, Android didn't have the rich functionality it has today, so many features, like driver mode, first appeared in skins from major manufacturers like HTC and Samsung. Of course, these features are implemented in different ways, therefore, the methods for disabling them also differ.

A separate car mode, which is called "Navigator", first appeared in HTC Sense, the shell of the Taiwanese manufacturer. It is implemented specifically - it is not provided for direct control, since the Navigator is activated automatically when connected to the car's systems. Therefore, the only way to disable this way the phone works is to disconnect it from the on-board computer. If you do not use the car, but the “Navigator” mode is turned on, there is a problem, the solution of which we will discuss separately.

On the phones of the Korean giant, an alternative to the Android Auto mentioned above is available called Car Mode. The algorithm for working with this application is very similar to that for Android Auto, including the shutdown method - just press the button marked in the screenshot below to return to normal phone operation.

On phones running Android 5.1 and below, driving mode refers to hands-free mode in which the device speaks basic incoming information and is controlled by voice commands. You can disable this mode as follows:

A fairly common problem is the spontaneous inclusion of the automotive version of the Android device. This happens both due to software failures and due to hardware problems. Do the following:
