New MFPs from the Russian manufacturer MV. Special offer from mb mb printers

The MB company, which has established itself as a reliable and responsible partner in the domestic market of office equipment, will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its successful activity next year. Over the years, the company was able not only to declare itself, but also to oppose significant competitive advantages to recognized global corporations.

Due to the fact that MB has a wide network of regional offices, the company offers its customers almost all over the country quality products and, which is important, guaranteed service. According to IDC, since 1998 MB has been one of the three most popular copier brands in Russia, along with Canon and Xerox. It should also be noted the close and fruitful cooperation of MV with many large domestic enterprises that are leaders in the sectors of the Russian economy, with federal ministries and departments, with leading foreign companies.

MV is constantly expanding, and a logical step was the decision to enter new markets, which is confirmed by the plans to open the first representative office of the company in one of the CIS countries - Ukraine. According to Dmitry Myslin, executive director of MB, the company has accumulated enormous potential, allowing it to explore new markets and develop its own network of representative offices outside of Russia. Entering the market of office equipment in the CIS countries is a priority in the marketing strategy of MB.

The range of products manufactured by the company is represented not only by copying equipment, but also by printers, multifunctional printing complexes, industrial printers, engineering systems, facsimile machines, as well as office furniture, climatic equipment and office paper. The products of this company from the field of printing technology almost completely cover all areas of this industry. The primary focus of MB is to provide comprehensive document management solutions for large corporate customers. MB's marketing strategy is aimed primarily at providing customers with the widest possible selection of products for solving various problems. The main focus is on the guaranteed quality of all products and services under the MB brand.

Following global trends and taking into account the wishes of customers to use a universal device capable of performing all the basic functions of document flow, combining a copier, a printer and a scanner, MB has chosen the development and production of multifunctional devices as its main direction. The outgoing year was marked by the release of a wide range of such devices, while a number of offered equipment is intended for both small organizations and corporate clients and offices with a large workflow.

It is also worth noting that the company has allocated multifunctional devices in a separate line - OfficeCenter, which includes MFPs designed not only for office use, but also for industrial replication.

Now let's take a closer look at the new MB products from the OfficeCenter series.

OfficeCenter 116 is the optimal solution for the SOHO segment and is also the first in a new line.

Unlike competitors, this device has maximum functionality and at the same time has a rather low price. It is primarily intended for use in a small office and provides the most commonly used functions necessary for document flow. With its small dimensions, this model is easy to operate and does not require special skills to work with it.

In the future, such devices should oust three devices from the market at the same time: a copier, a scanner and a printer, which take up much more space in the office and require frequent maintenance.

The basic configuration of the OfficeCenter 116 includes an A4 monochrome laser printer, copier and scanner capable of printing and making black-and-white copies at up to 16 ppm, as well as scanning color documents. The presence of a flatbed scanner in all versions of the new device removes almost all restrictions on the type of the original.

The MB OfficeCenter 116F model is equipped with a modem with a speed of 33 600 bps and, like most similar devices, has connectors for connecting to a computer via a USB port and an IEEE-1284 interface.

This multifunctional machine includes not only a scanner with a resolution of 600 dpi, but also a printer that can print originals with a resolution of up to 600 dpi, which is an undoubted advantage of OfficeCenter 116. According to the manufacturer, the warm-up time for OfficeCenter 116 is 25 seconds. , and the time of the first copy is 13 s, which is a good indicator for devices of this class. The tray has a capacity of 250 sheets and the optional tray holds 500 sheets. There is also manual feed for 10 sheets of heavier paper.

With the optional fax module, the OfficeCenter 116F allows faxing of data over the Internet, as well as scanning the original and sending the scanned image to an e-mail address. Laser printing in the office

Today, a laser printer is an almost indispensable and indispensable attribute of any office. The most actively exploited category of such devices belongs to the devices of the scale of the working group. These models have print speeds ranging from 15 to 35 ppm and mostly support network printing.

A feature of recent times has been the widespread use of color laser printers on the scale of the working group. The process of replacing monochrome devices with color ones was especially active when the price of the latter dropped significantly, and the cost and quality of black-and-white prints became almost identical. According to a number of industry analysts and specialists from manufacturing companies, this trend will continue.

The segment of color laser printers has recently become one of the most dynamically developing in the printer market, its share is constantly increasing from year to year. This is due to a number of interrelated reasons. Firstly, as a result of a noticeable reduction in prices for such devices, color laser printers have become affordable and attractive to a wider range of users. Secondly, the volume of printing various office documents in color (tables, graphs, presentations, reports, etc.) is growing. In addition, such devices provide high-quality printing, are reliable in operation and allow you to receive qualitatively different documents - in color.

For printer equipment in the workgroup category, such an indicator as the cost of printing plays an important role. The bulk of office printing (90-95%) is usually black and white. To print them, a monochrome printer is enough, the cost of printing on which (not to mention the printers themselves) was lower than on color devices. Now the situation has changed - the cost of printing black and white documents on a color laser printer has become about the same as on a conventional monochrome device of the same class. So color laser printers today are able to compete with their monochrome counterparts in all respects.

Now consumers just have to make the right choice in the variety of monochrome and color workgroup-scale printers offered by many manufacturers.

The company MB announced the establishment of a special price for printers MB 218 and MB 216. Now it is possible to purchase MB 218 with standard toner and MB 216 complete with two additional toners at reduced prices.

The MV 218 and MV 216 are compact, inexpensive black and white printers.

These devices can print with a resolution of 600x1200 dpi. This resolution, when combined with PostScript 3 Page Description Language (optional), provides the best quality for both text and photo. The resulting prints are able to satisfy even the most demanding user. The MB 216 is equipped with a memory capacity of 8 MB, which can be expanded up to 40 MB. The memory capacity of the MB 218, which is 16 MB in the standard, can be increased to 48 MB. The large amount of memory allows you to quickly process almost any job. The maximum print speed for both machines is 18 pages per minute, and the first page is printed in less than 7 seconds. The MB 216/218 has a wide selection of paper feed devices. The paper feeder is a standard tray with a capacity of up to 250 sheets and a manual feed tray that eliminates the possibility of paper jams. Paper exits either into the 150-sheet output tray (face down) or into the 50-sheet output tray (face up). In addition, you can optionally equip your model with a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 500-sheet tray. Printers allow you to use paper with a density of 60 to 120 g / m². It should be noted that working with these devices will allow the user to save money, since both models have separate toner and imaging drum, which reduces the cost of printing. MB consumables are simple and convenient to replace, which the user can easily carry out on their own. Thanks to the built-in Russian fonts, the MB 218/216 printer can print in Russian and from DOS applications, which makes this printer a universal device. Hardware Russification and support for emulation of matrix printers will also provide compatibility with old DOS programs.

Introduced a new line of color multifunctional devices MB OfiiceCenter. It was the first press conference of the company over the past two years, and the representatives of "MV" did not confine themselves to the announcement of new products, they also told about the restructuring of business processes and the new development strategy.

We started with a small digression into history. The company "MV" was founded in 1990 and began its work with servicing copying equipment, soon expanding its activities to supply equipment to Russia. The MB trade mark was registered in 1996, and since 1997 the company has started to produce copying equipment under its own brand. Later, the company began selling more air conditioners and office furniture. This was done so that clients could equip their office with everything they need, resorting to the services of just one company. In 2006, a rapid reorganization of the company began, the management changed, and a new team of top managers almost completely changed the course of development of "MV - Office Equipment".

The general director of the company Vyacheslav Siver spoke in some detail about why the representatives of "MV" have not been publicly active for so long and what exactly the company has been doing for the last two years.

It's no secret that Moscow is one of the most expensive cities in the world, and this seriously affects companies trying to do business in the capital. This was the main reason for the move of the headquarters of "MV" to the near Moscow region. This idea, of course, does not belong to the management of "MV", and they do not deny it. On the contrary, they emphasize that in many ways they are acting in accordance with the experience of Western companies, whose headquarters are often located very far from big cities. Following the example of Xerox, MV has built several homes for nonresident employees, as well as cottages, which it intends to sell at cost to its best employees. As a result, significant savings on the maintenance of offices and warehouses made it possible to fix prices for many goods, in particular consumables, which in turn improved customer loyalty to the company.

Again, for reasons of economy, several regional offices were closed in 2007, and a dealer network began to develop in return. However, “MV” is still responsible for the qualifications of the personnel of dealership service centers. The company's employees are trained in their own training center, and offsite master classes are arranged for partners.

However, no matter how beneficial the restructuring and relocation may have on the future business of the company, over two years of rapid internal changes, the share of "MV" in the market has greatly decreased. You can even say that many have completely forgotten about the existence of this brand. Of course, customers who have been working with MV for a long time still receive full service, but there was practically no influx of new ones. "MV" has produced and still produces large office equipment, expensive copiers, which an ordinary user can become interested in only out of curiosity. Several years ago, MV's share of the Russian market was about 20%, not least due to its well-developed service scheme. Now this share does not exceed 7% and is kept practically only at the expense of old clients. MV plans for the next two years to return its 20% of the market, while further plans are less ambitious - to gradually increase its share to 25%. Regarding the development of the line of devices, the bulk of which are still large and expensive copiers, Alexander Stepanov, Marketing Director, said that "MV", like other manufacturers, plans to develop the segment of desktop devices. While there are no such devices in the company's lineup, the development department is working hard on them.

Alexander Stepanov presented three new multifunctional devices of the MB OffceCenter series. The first was shown the device MB OfficeCenter 120C. This full-color A4 MFP is equipped with fax, printer and scanner functions and is close to monochrome devices in terms of cost of prints. The 120C is designed for medium and small workgroups and is equipped with a network interface.

According to the manufacturer, this is the most compact device in its class. The difference in size is hardly striking, but it is significant when placing an MFP directly in an office, especially a small one, where literally every centimeter counts. In addition, the required working space of the 120C is significantly less than that of other similar devices. That is, you need to maintain a certain distance so that a person is comfortable working next to the MFP and to provide access to the device during service. On the 120C, all the main units open upwards, so that when replacing a cartridge or clearing jammed paper, none of the close-seated employees will not be disturbed. And the procedure itself is simple enough to do without calling a specially trained person - however, now in most more or less compact MFPs, these procedures require minimal knowledge and effort. And one more thing allows this MFP to be located close to workplaces - the air outlet in it is made vertical, so that all the warm air goes up and does not bother anyone.

And most importantly, what is the secret to the low cost of full color prints. Firstly, the 120C uses low-cost toner, and secondly, the apparatus is four-pass. That is, only one drum unit is used for all four toners instead of the conventional “one toner cartridge + one drum unit” system. The use of one drum unit significantly reduces the cost per page, since in this case you will have to replace one consumable instead of four. On the other hand, it can wear out faster, because the load on it is significantly greater than in single-pass systems. But representatives of "MV" promise a high resource of their consumables, including this drum.

This device has one more feature that is not very necessary in an office MFP - the PictBridge interface for connecting digital cameras. In case any of the workers wants to print their photos, but does not want to bother with transferring files to a computer, and then to a printer. USB sticks cannot be connected via this interface; it works exclusively with cameras.

It was not possible to find out the exact price of the device - about 1000 dollars. But company representatives stressed that it is 15% cheaper than similar MFPs from other manufacturers.

Two other MFPs, MB OfficeCenter 25C and 40C, are large office equipment for large workgroups. In principle, they can also be called mini-printing houses, especially since their functionality is quite enough for this. The models are identical in technical characteristics and differ only in printing speed, which, by the way, is reflected in their names. The OfficeCenter 25C prints and copies A4 monochrome and color pages at 25 ppm, and the OfficeCenter 40C at 40 ppm.

The machines use new polymerized toner, and the fusing system does not use oil, so prints are matte, close to the quality of printing.

The machines have a USB connector for flash drives, so documents can be scanned directly to a removable disk. But the best part about this connector is that you can also connect a keyboard through it to enter user data, email addresses, etc.

The ADFs for scanning in these MFPs are non-reversible, that is, two-sided documents do not turn over, which can be very important when processing old originals or originals on thin paper. And, of course, the scanning speed is significantly increased.

Finally, both the 25C and 40C can be installed in tandem and thus increase productivity. This process is quite simple - just two devices are connected to a local network, after which they work as one device.

The cost of the devices, depending on the configuration, is: 25C - 7-7.5 thousand euros; 40C - 9.5-10 thousand euros.

Well, and probably the most interesting question for the Russian manufacturer of MFPs - where and how are these devices produced? The company "MV" has a full production cycle - from development to sales and service. The devices are produced on leased lines at foreign, of course, factories, in particular, in Korea. The development of the device takes place in the company's office. Engineers of "MV", of course, do not reinvent the MFPs, they take existing devices as a basis and modify in accordance with their desires and the capabilities of the production lines. Consumables are produced according to the same scheme, but it is worth paying special attention to the fact that the company "MV" undertakes all the service maintenance, including the replacement of cartridges. Therefore, their consumables are not supplied to retail, and those that can be found are fake. Alas, this trouble applies not only to large Western brands, and the domestic manufacturer has to participate in raids on the Savelovsky market.

MB, a well-known supplier of copying equipment and solutions in the field of document automation, does not often please with news about itself, so the announcement of the company's entry into the printer market immediately attracted attention.

According to IDC estimates, the MB brand is considered the third most popular on the copier market in Russia. In 2000, MB ranked first in terms of the number of copiers sold with a print speed of over 10 copies per minute (for the market as a whole, excluding personal copiers). The growth was 56%, which is several times higher than the market average. And over the past two years, the supply of MV equipment, depending on the segment, amounted to 25 to 35% of the total market volume.

The MB company acts as an OEM partner of a number of foreign companies, such as Konica, Oki, and others, which produce equipment for it at enterprises in Southeast Asia and Japan.

As you know, the market of copiers both in the world and in Russia is growing at a much lower rate than the printer market.

And now MB, as the company executives say, "invades" the printer market. According to Dmitry Myslin, MV Marketing Director, in the first six months of 2001 alone, more than 6,000 MV monochrome laser printers were sold with a print speed of 8 to 45 ppm, which is almost twice the figures for the same period last year. ... In addition, 2.5 times more color printers were sold in the first half of 2001 than in the same period in 2000.

From the point of view of the director of IDC Russia Robert Farish (see CRN / RE No. 11/2001, p. 14), it was the segment of color lasers that became the most profitable market for printers in 2001. If earlier these devices were mainly interested in specialists working with graphics, now color printers are turning into a commodity of interest to corporate clients. It is assumed that by 2005 the volume of the Russian market for color laser printers and copiers will reach $ 70 million, with the main sales of this equipment going to the corporate sector. In 2000, HP was the leader in the segment of color laser printers, but Xerox / Tektronix achieved more than the leader, sales growth - 130% (from HP - 110%). In addition, a significant (about 185%) increase in sales of Konica color printers has been noticed. At the same time, it is known that the supplier had to sacrifice his name for this success, since all its equipment was sold under the MB brand.

Among the MB products, the most popular in the first half of the year were the MB 326 monochrome printers at 26 ppm and the MB 508 at 8 ppm.

The MV 326 is a compact networked A3 laser printer. First page out speed is 6.5 seconds. Resolution 1200 x 1200 dpi. The standard configuration includes PostScript language, the MB 326N model is completed with a network card. Additional devices include a four-cell mailbox that allows you to separate documents from different user groups. There is also a function of confidential printing, when the user receives his documents only after entering the password on the printer.

The MV 508 is a personal printer with a resolution of 1200 x 600 dpi. The model is compatible with Windows, Windows NT and DOS (the printer is hardware-Russian for DOS and has 12 Russian fonts). Printing is carried out on a wide variety of paper (even made from recycled materials) in sizes from A6 to A4, with a density of up to 120 gsm. m. Printer weight 4.3 kg.

Office applications require very large amounts of personalized information to be printed. In this case, the documents must be sorted, stitched. Very often, as MB experts note, in such a situation the client is forced to buy a copier-printer system with similar capabilities (these are expensive systems with a print speed of 40 to 100 ppm). In response to market demands, MB offers two high performance models with a range of finishing devices.

The MB 375 runs at 75 ppm and is rated for peak workloads of up to a million prints per month. The MB 375 display allows complete control of the printer. A printer interface is provided - ProfiRIP, which has advanced software that allows you to turn the MB 375 into a processing, printing and document management center.

The color laser printer MB 738 A3 has a resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. Time to first print - 12 s (for color), support for PostScript 3 language is provided. The device is also equipped with finishing devices, and, according to the company, outperforms competitors in print speed 2 times (28 color or 38 black and white pages per minute) ). The main and additional trays can hold 3,100 sheets. As an option, a 2,000-sheet finisher is provided, which allows you to staple ready-made prints and punch holes in them for folders, as well as a four-bin mailbox.
