If the message "Authentication required" appears, "Sender address rejected: Access denied" or "Send auth command first", authorization on the Yandex SMTP server is disabled in the mail client settings. Make sure the option is enabled User authentication(for Outlook Express) or SMTP Authentication(for The Bat!).

If a message appears "Sender address rejected: not owned by auth user", the address from which you are trying to send a letter does not match the one under which you are authorized on the SMTP server. Make sure that the address from which is used in the SMTP authorization settings is specified as the return address in the mail program settings.

If a message appears Login failure or POP3 disabled, the mailer cannot access the mailbox using the POP3 protocol. Make sure that you entered the correct password for the mailbox and that POP3 access is enabled in the settings section.

If a message appears "Message rejected under suspicion of SPAM", the content of your message was recognized by Yandex.Mail as spam. To solve the problem, open Yandex.Mail and send any one letter in the form of a test. This will prove to the system that it is not a robot that sends letters.

Check your computer for viruses with free antivirus software: CureIt! by Dr.Web and Virus Removal Tool by Kaspersky Lab.

If the mail program does not accept or does not send letters, check the correctness of the settings of your mail program, as well as the settings for connecting your computer to the Internet.

If you are using an antivirus program, firewall or proxy server, disable them and check if the problem reproduces.

Read the step-by-step instructions for finding missing emails. Before starting work .

Select a problem:

When you delete messages, they go to the Deleted Items folder and are stored in it for 30 days. During this period, you can restore them:

  1. Go to the Deleted Items folder.
  2. Highlight the letters you want.
  3. Click the To folder button.

If more than a month has passed since their deletion, the messages cannot be restored - they were permanently deleted from Yandex.Mail servers.

If the emails are not in the folder where they should be, then most likely they ended up in another folder, for example, in Deleted Items or Spam. If you remember the name or address of the sender, part of the text of the letter or the subject - try to search for letters in all folders of your mailbox.

Did you find the letters?

You can recover emails:

  1. Go to the folder where the letters were found.
  2. Highlight the letters you want.
  3. Click the To folder button.
  4. Select from the list the folder where you want to move the messages - for example, Inbox.

Why letters go missing and how to avoid it

The Deleted messages folder is stored for 30 days, in the Spam folder - 10 days. After that, they will be permanently deleted from Yandex servers. Why letters can get into these folders without your knowledge:

Another user has access to your mailbox

Emails can be deleted by a user who has access to your mailbox: perhaps you forgot to end the session after working on someone else's device. To end the session, click the link in the account menu Logout on all devices... You can also do this on the page - using the link Log out on all computers.

Letters disappear in the mail program

Configured a rule that deletes or moves letters. Letters disappear in the mail program

If you use the mail program and delete letters in it, then they disappear on. This happens because your program is configured using the IMAP protocol - the structure of the box on the service is synchronized with the structure of the box in the program. To delete messages only in the program, but leave them in Yandex.Mail, you can configure the program using the POP3 protocol, but we recommend that you do not do this: messages may not sync correctly with the server.

Configured a rule that deletes or moves messages Specify reliable ones in Yandex.Passport and link them to your account. Perhaps our security system found your account suspicious and blocked the mailbox. Most often this happens due to the fact that a phone number is not tied to the mailbox or a fictitious name and surname are indicated in the Passport. It usually takes a couple of hours to unlock the lock.

If you delete messages in the mail program, but they are still in their folders on the Yandex.Mail website, then most likely your mail program is configured using the POP3 protocol. Due to the peculiarities of the POP3 protocol, messages in the mail program may not be correctly synchronized with the server. It is recommended to use the IMAP protocol to work with Yandex.Mail. For information on how to reconfigure your email client from POP3 to IMAP, see Migrating from POP3.

If your mailer does not display sent emails, then most likely your mailer is configured using the POP3 protocol.

The report always indicates the reason for the non-delivery. For the most common reasons, see ../web/letter/create.html#troubleshooting__received-report.

If, when activating SSL encryption in your mail program, you receive errors about an incorrect certificate, make sure that the mail program and the operating system are configured correctly:

  • On a computer (no lags and "Dates from the future"). If the date is incorrect, the system mistakenly determines that the certificate has not yet expired or has already expired.
  • All are installed.
  • Checking HTTPS connections is disabled in your antivirus settings. You can change the antivirus settings according to our instructions for Kaspersky Internet Security and ESET NOD32 Smart Security in the Security certificate errors section.

Add a certificate to the list of trusted certificates manually (Windows)

Attention. If you are not sure if you can install the certificate yourself, contact a specialist.

To add a certificate to the list of trusted certificates:

  1. Download the certificate. (If the link opens directly in your browser, click CTRL + S and save the file to your computer; you don't need to copy text from the file.)
  2. Open the Start Menu.
  3. In the search box, type certmgr.msc and press the Enter key.
  4. In the program window, in the folder tree, click on the folder Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
  5. In the right part of the window, right-click on Certificates and select All tasks → Import.
  6. Click "Next .
  7. Click the Browse button and select the CA.pem file you downloaded earlier. Click Next.

  11. In the folder tree, click on the folder update the program to version 6 or higher. After the update, do the following:
    1. In the program menu, select Properties -> S / MIME and TLS.
    2. In the unit, set the switch to the Internal position.
    3. Click OK.
    4. Try sending an email. If the certificate error appears again, then in the same block Properties -> S / MIME and TLS -> S / MIME Implementation and TLS Certificates set the switch to Microsoft CryptoAPI.
    5. Click OK ..
    6. Unpack the archive.
    7. Run the mailssl.bat file as administrator.
    8. Turn off SSL in the mail program settings and specify the following server parameters:
      • SMTP: server - localhost, port - 25
      • POP3: server - localhost, port - 110
      • IMAP: server - localhost, port - 143

If the problem persists, try using the recommendations from the articles Mail client of the Trade Administration and gmail (when following the recommendations, substitute Attention.

Be sure to enter your username and password manually. If you choose to authenticate like the incoming mail server, sending will not work.

Limitation. You can send letters in this way only to addresses served by Yandex.Mail (in the yandex.ru domain or to addresses. Messages of other mail services will not be sent through this server to the mailboxes of other mail services.

If you recently changed your mailbox password, make sure to update the data in your mail program settings as well. If the password in the settings is correct, wait a few hours - the settings of the mail program may not be synchronized with the Yandex server immediately.

Contact support

The epistolary method of communication has evolved over the years from a paper form to an electronic one. There are 200 postal services on the Internet, with the help of which users communicate and send data via e-mail. Each online mailer has its own structure and individual interface, but along with this, programs have been developed that work with mail without a browser. The question arises of how to correctly create an external email address in a computer program. An example of setting up Mail.ru - Outlook will help you answer it.

Local mail client

On the Internet, developers of computer programs offer users a choice of software that acts as an electronic client. Each local mailer has an individual interface and useful features. But is it worth burdening the computer with programs if they are available for browser use? Yes! The proof of this is the clients of Microsoft Outlook 2013 and Outlook Express. Itself in Outlook usually doesn't take long for users.

A person usually has two or three email addresses that he regularly uses, but these accounts are registered on separate online services. Of course, it is allowed to operate with one mailer by setting up personal mailboxes on it. But in this case, the external service does not guarantee that the letter with a foreign domain name will be sent correctly.

The "Outlook" interface is designed for users regardless of the level of computer skills, therefore, setting up an online resource is considered on it. An example of an external service will be the online mailer Mail.ru.

What you need to set up Mail.ru - Outlook

Before starting directly to work, it is worth checking:

  1. An account registered on the Mail.ru website.
  2. Installed Outlook.

If the MS Office package was previously present, the mailer will be found among the list of standard software. Outlook 2013 or Outlook Express can be downloaded as a separate component

in Outlook 2013

3. Select the connection protocol.

4. Specify user parameters and server information.

It should be borne in mind that for IMAP the incoming mail server is imap.mail.ru; for POP3 - pop.mail.ru.

Instructions for Express - Mail.ru

1. In the "Service" tab, go to "Accounts".

2. "Add" button, then "Mail":

3. The data for the outgoing and incoming servers are indicated:

5. When the configuration of the Outlook - Mail.ru account is completed, you need to open the "Properties" of this account.

6. In the "Advanced" tab, enter the ports for receiving and sending letters.

7. Allow downloading folders from the specified servers.

8. Accounting is set up.

What nuances should you pay attention to

When setting up Mail.ru - Outlook, you may encounter problems that are easy to fix. The main thing is to follow some rules:

1. The account is indicated by its full name, including the doggy icon and the domain ([email protected]).

2. The username of the recipient of the mail in the "From:" line can be different, it does not have to be the first and last name of the sender.

3. Carefully check the input of the ports of the incoming / outgoing server.

4. To copy the information received by the local mail client to an external resource - uncheck the "Delete copy from server ..." box.

Having installed the local Outlook mailer and configured Mail.ru - Outlook, the user will be able to receive and send messages, and a number of additional functions will also appear.

1. It will become easier to manage the account of an external mailer.

2. Filtering of messages is set for an individual sender; on the subject of the letter; a single word or subject line.

3. Archiving messages and further processing is much faster.

4. The contents of the folders are organized according to your preferences.

6. Local mailer will help you organize and plan your working day thanks to the calendar. This feature allows the user to create a schedule and set reminders.

7. Address book "Outlook" can be synchronized with mobile operating systems by transferring contacts to or from your phone. In addition, business cards are created in the address book for each participant, indicating data on location, company, phone number, and more.

8. The Outlook messaging system allows sending and receiving

Outlook is a program from the Microsoft Office suite that provides the ability to manage multiple e-mails at the same time: receive, send, edit, save and delete messages received on your e-mail boxes. Outlook also adds new features for working with mail: offline saving of received letters, recall of sent messages, forming groups, organizing contacts, etc. We have prepared an instruction that will help you quickly set up the program.

How to set up Outlook mail

There are several versions of Outlook (2016, 2013, 2010, 2007 and older - now out of date), some of the steps will be different, so see the instructions below for your version of Outlook.

The main function of Outlook is to make it easier to work with e-mail. So the first thing to do is to link one or more boxes to the program.

Adding accounts

There are two options to add email: auto add and manual. It is recommended to use the first method, since it is easier and does not require entering extra data, but if for some reason it does not suit you, you can add mail by configuring it manually: choose which servers will send and receive letters, which this way they will be encrypted. For manual configuration, you will need the addresses of the incoming and outgoing servers of the company that owns your mail. These POP, SMTP and IMAP values for the most popular mails are presented in the table:

Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016

Automatically adding an account without entering detailed settings looks like this:

  1. Open the "File" section.
  2. Select the "Mixdown" section.
  3. Use the "Add Account" function.
  4. Select the checkbox for the automatic mode of adding an account.
  5. Enter all the required information in the empty blocks: mail name, password from it and your full name.
  6. Confirm the correctness of the data you entered. If all the information is entered correctly, then the account will be linked to the program: everything that is in it at the moment and will come in the future is synchronized with Outlook.

Synchronization with detailed configuration is performed by these actions:

  1. Select the "File" block from the Quick Access Toolbar.
  2. Expand the sub-item "Information".
  3. Click on the green cross icon "Add Account".
  4. Check the second option "Manual tuning".
  5. Check the service configured by IMAP and POP.
  6. Enter all the required information in the empty blocks: mail name, password from it and your full name. You can find information on protocols in the table provided above in the article.
  7. Expand other settings.
  8. Set parameters for IMAP and SMTP server. Select SSL for the encryption type.
  9. Go back to the main mail settings and specify the period of time for which letters received by mail will be saved on the computer. Please note that the longer the period you select, the more letters the program will save and, accordingly, the more it will be overloaded.
  10. Wait while the program checks the correctness of the entered settings. If all the data match, and no errors appear in the process, then you will see that all parameters are marked with green checkmarks.
  11. When you finish adding mail, you will receive the message "Everything is ready!". This means that mail starts synchronizing with Outlook, and in the near future all messages will be downloaded to the program.

Outlook 2007

Adding mail in automatic mode:

  1. Click on the "Create" button.
  2. Fill in all blank cells: address, password, first and last name.
  3. If all the data match, then the mail will be added, and the synchronization process will begin: messages from the mailbox will be displayed in the program.

Adding mail with manual configuration items is performed by the following steps:

  1. While in the main menu of the program, disassociate the "Service" tab.
  2. Select the "Account Settings" section.
  3. Click on the "Create" button.
  4. Select the "Internet Email" setting option.
  5. Fill in all empty cells: address, alias, mail type, parameters of outgoing and incoming servers. You can find the IMAP and POP3 parameters for the most popular mailboxes in the table above in the article.
  6. In the window that opens, go to the tab for configuring outgoing mail servers.
  7. Enable the SMTP server authentication function.
  8. To avoid specifying the information twice, select the option "Same as the server for incoming mail".
  9. Go to the "Advanced" tab.
  10. Set parameters for IMAP and SMTP server. Enable SSL encryption of the connection.
  11. In order to activate saving messages to the server (they will not be deleted if you downloaded a copy of them to your computer), check the box next to the option "Leave a copy of messages on the server". Here you can also configure how long these messages will remain on the server.
  12. Return to the main settings and click on the "Next" button.
  13. If all the data has been entered correctly, you will receive a “Congratulations!” Message. This means that the mail has been added successfully, and the synchronization of the application with the e-mail will begin shortly.

Connecting to Exchange Mail

Exchange Mail is a local mailbox for connecting to a specific group created by the Exchange server. Exchange accounts are typically used by organizations, companies, or among the group of individuals who created their Exchange server. To connect to such mail and start using it, you need the address of the Exchange server, the username assigned to you on this server, the name of the certificate, and the URL of the server. All this data can be obtained from the creator or administrator of the server.

Outlook 2010, 2007, 2016

  1. Expand the File tab.
  2. Go to "Details".
  3. Click on the "Add Account" button.
  4. Proceed to manual configuration of the added account.
  5. On the Select Service page, check the Microsoft Exchange Server option.
  6. Click on the "Other settings" button.
  7. Return to the main settings and click the "Next" button.

Outlook 2007

  1. Expand the "Server" window.
  2. Select the "Account Settings" section.
  3. Click on the "Create" button.
  4. Check the box to confirm that you want to perform basic and advanced server settings manually.
  5. Select the "Microsoft Exchange Server" option.

  11. Provide the URL of the server and the name of the certificate it uses.
  12. Authentication must be done using the NTLM type.
  13. Return to the main settings and click the "Next" button. If a password is set on the server, the program will ask you to enter it, do it.
  14. If all the data is entered correctly, the program will find the required Exchange server and connect to it.

What to do if your Outlook account won't connect

The process of adding a new account in Outlook may be interrupted for the following reasons:

  • The internet connection has been disconnected, it is worth checking its stability.
  • Restart the program, perhaps some of its functions do not work correctly, but after restarting they will begin to run fully.
  • The mail details were entered incorrectly. Try adding mail in automatic mode, if you tried to do it manually before, or vice versa, connect it through manual mode if automatic does not work.
  • The added mail is protected by two-step protection: to enter it, you need to enter a password and a security code that comes to your phone. There are two ways out of this situation: disable double verification through the mail settings on the mailbox's official website, or create a single Microsoft account to get a special password to log into applications.

Retrieving a password to enter applications

  1. Log in or register using your email on the official Microsoft website (https://account.microsoft.com/account/Account?refd=www.vynesimozg.com&destrt=home-index).
  2. Go to the Security & Privacy section.
  3. Open advanced security settings.
  4. Log in again on the site.
  5. Scroll down to the Application Passwords block. Click on the "Create new password" button.
  6. You will receive the application password, please copy it. Enter the password you received instead of your email password when adding a new account in Outlook.
  7. Finish adding mail. If mail still could not be added, Outlook did not let it through, then double-check that the entered data is correct and, if they are nevertheless spelled out correctly, then proceed to disabling two-stage mail protection.

How to add or remove profile photo in Outlook

To increase your visibility among Outlook users, you can add your photo to be shown to people who receive your emails:

Changing the letter encoding

How it will be displayed on the screen depends on the encoding of the letter. If you open a letter written in one encoding using a different encoding, you will see only a set of incomprehensible characters, since the system will not be able to recognize the characters in the letter. To change the encoding of an incoming or outgoing letter, follow these steps:

Exiting offline mode

Offline mode allows you to work with the program without an Internet connection. To exit this mode in Outlook 2016, 2013, 2010, just go to the "Sending and receiving" tab and click on the "Offline work" icon located in the "Parameters" block. If the icon has a white transparent color, it means that you are not connected to the Internet, that is, you are offline. If the icon becomes colored, you will exit offline mode.

In Outlook 2007, the mode is configured in the "File" - "Offline work" menu. Go to this section to enable or disable this mode.

The offline mode will not start if you are currently performing any operation via Outlook that requires Internet access: sending a letter, uploading a picture, etc. Disconnect from the network to activate the mode without hindrance.

Save and reset Outlook preferences

All changes made in Outlook are written to the Outcmd.dat file located in the folder: PrimaryDrive: \ Users \ AccountName \ AppData \ Roaming \ Microsoft \ Outlook. To reset Outlook options to their defaults, drag this file to any other folder after closing the program itself. When you start Outlook again, the Outcmd.dat file will not be found and will be recreated accordingly without any user-configured settings.

This completes the basic Outlook settings. You can add additional mails if you have them. And do not forget to turn off the offline mode, because when it is turned on, Outlook does not automatically check incoming messages, because of this, you can miss important incoming messages.

The safety of working in Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007 can only be guaranteed if it is installed on a computer running Windows XP SP3, Vista, 7, 8, 10. If the operating system version is lower Windows XP SP3, it is not safe to use it. We recommend that you install a newer version of your email client, such as Microsoft Outlook 2010, 2013 or 2016.

Configure via IMAP

via IMAP:

    • Email Address - The full name of your mailbox.
    • Account type - IMAP;
