MacBook rose gold. Apple released a pink MacBook and updated the MacBook Air

The MacBook lineup has been updated with a 2016 model - the first time Apple laptops are available in rose gold. The company claims that the MacBook is now more productive, faster and "long-playing". Whether the model meets these characteristics, and whether just one USB-C port is enough for comfortable work with a laptop - in the Lenta.ru review.

Design and ergonomics

In terms of dimensions, the new MacBook does not differ from last year's model - 28 by 19.6 centimeters in length and width, 1.31 centimeters thick along the "thick" edge and weighing just over 900 grams. It's still Apple's smallest laptop - the lightest MacBook Air weighs 1.08 kilograms. The screen has not changed either - a 12-inch Retina display with a resolution of 2304 by 1440 pixels (recall that the Retina screen is not yet built into the MacBook Air).

This is the first Apple computer to be offered in Rose Gold. Silver, gold and dark gray versions are also available - all in a solid aluminum body.

The biggest disappointment is that the number of connectors has not changed - one USB-Type C and one headphone output. Through USB-Type C, it is proposed to either charge a laptop, or connect external devices (for example, charge an iPhone or work with an external hard drive), or use it to connect via HDMI.

Obviously, the MacBook is designed exclusively for wireless operation. If you fully charge the laptop and connect it to Wi-Fi, and save the files either on your computer or in the "cloud", you can work with it. But if, for example, while working with a file on the hard drive or playing a movie with an HDMI connection to a TV, the laptop runs out, you will have to disconnect the external device before recharging it.

To connect external devices, you need to stock up on additional accessories. A "wired" backup of an iPhone or iPad will require a USB-Type C to Lightning cable. Now Apple mobile devices come with a regular USB-Lightning cable. Alternatively, you can purchase a USB-C USB cable or a multiport adapter (USB-C, HDMI, USB), and connect a standard iPhone cable to it. In any case, this is not an easy operation.

Like the first MacBook, the device does not have a fan for cooling. According to Apple representatives, the sixth-generation Intel Core processor uses only five watts, so the laptop should not seem to overheat much. The test MacBook did not get warm when browsing the Internet and working with standard applications. But if you load it with complex programs - performance tests, video assembly and processing, calculations in Numbers, then the temperature rises significantly - so that the laptop is uncomfortable to hold on your lap.

The keyboard, as in the previous version, is edge-to-edge and is made according to the butterfly mechanism, which increases the stability of the keys. In addition, each key is equipped with an individual backlight. The touchpad with Force Touch technology has not changed either.

Performance

The new MacBook comes standard with a 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core m3 processor with Turbo Boost. You can choose a modification with an Intel Core m5 processor with a frequency of 1.2 GHz or an Intel Core m7 with a frequency of 1.3 GHz (maximum acceleration - up to 3.1 GHz). An improved processor over last year, but less powerful than the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models.

In the GeekBench test, the new MacBook scored 2360 points in single-core and 4503 points in dual-core. In Single Core mode, the processor is 10 percent faster than last year's Intel Core M, but 10 percent slower than the base 11-inch MacBook Air. In a multi-core test, the difference between the MacBooks was 12 percent in favor of the 2016 model. But the MacBook Air was again faster - by 13 percent.

It is noteworthy that in the single-core test, the MacBook lost to both iPad Pro models, but in the Multi-Core test, its processor is 7-11 percent more powerful than the mobile A9X.

The MacBook has a built-in Intel HD Graphics 515 video subsystem. Subjectively, it copes with the display of visual content on the Retina screen. However, photo and video editing programs (such as Final Cut Pro X and iMovie) and other processor-intensive applications were lagging.

In the Cinebench GL test, the graphics card of the new MacBook proved to be almost one and a half times better than last year's model. As expected, it lost to the base models of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro of the 2015 model.

Apple has indeed improved the performance of the new MacBook over the previous model. However, you should not expect the results of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro from the new product. In general, the speed of the conventional and graphic chips of the system is sufficient for typical user tasks. But if a laptop is chosen for regular work with graphics or "heavy" programs, it is worth looking at other models.

Storage device

The base model of the MacBook has a 256GB PCIe flash drive, and there is also a 512GB version. Apple has now adopted eight gigabytes of RAM as standard in its laptops. According to Apple, the memory performance has been significantly increased, but the fundamental difference can be seen only in "heavy" applications. In general, there were no delays in launching programs and files.

Battery Life

MacBook's claimed battery life of 10 hours of web surfing and 11 hours of iTunes video playback has increased by an hour, according to Apple. The tested laptop in mixed mode at full brightness (web browsing, watching online videos, performance tests, games, working with graphic editors) was discharged in less than eight hours. In particular, two hours of YouTube video drained the battery by 30 percent, an hour of iMovie - another 20 percent.

If we assume that the user is unlikely to work constantly with “heavy” applications, then a working day without recharging is a completely feasible task for a MacBook. Considering the already mentioned limitation of a single USB-C port, this is an important factor. It is worth taking into account that from zero to 100 percent the laptop is charged in about three hours.

Price and conclusions

In Russia, the cost of the tested base model of MacBook 2016 starts from 107 thousand rubles. For the money, you get a compact, portable laptop with a decent Retina screen for watching videos and the power you need to get things done on the go. In addition, for those who want to assemble a complete set of Apple devices in rose gold color, there is nothing else to choose from yet.

However, in terms of performance and functionality, the MacBook is still losing to the MacBook Air models, the prices for which in Russia are significantly lower - from 70 to 92 thousand rubles. You just have to give up the compactness and screen resolution.

For the same 107 thousand rubles, you can buy a much more productive 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina screen and an Intel Core i5 processor with a frequency of 2.7 GHz. However, this laptop is almost twice as heavy and has half the flash drive. A model with 256 gigabytes costs 123 thousand rubles in Russia.

Finally, another option from Apple for on-the-go use is the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a Retina screen and about the same weight, including the keyboard cover. The price for the version with 256 gigabytes in Russia is from 77 thousand rubles. However, the iPad Pro is still a mobile device with its limitations (including software, multitasking and file sharing).

The main advantages of the new MacBook in its price category compared to other Apple laptops are compactness, Retina-screen, long battery life and exclusivity - at least for now - color scheme.
Among the disadvantages are lower performance and slower performance in solving complex tasks, limited to one USB-C port and a relatively high price. Accordingly, you will have to decide whether it makes sense to pay a premium price for design and portability.

Since 2013 I have been working on the same MacBook Air. Basic model, the simplest technical specifications. During this time, thousands of photos have been processed, dozens of videos have been created, and almost three thousand articles have been written.

For me, the Air has been the benchmark laptop for six years now. Until now, I forgave him an outdated display, a monotonous design, and, in general, everything. No more flaws.

But we can’t calm down, we constantly want something new. What if you like it? I took in re:Store A 12-inch MacBook for one week to see if Apple's smallest laptop is worth the money? Moreover, am I ready to exchange my adored Air for it?

And this one and only port of a rare standard - is it possible to live with it in working conditions?

The conclusions were ambiguous.

Portability has a limit. It's him

Most readers have seen the heyday of netbooks. Do you remember the impressions from the first use of them? Such a small computer, but already capable of so much - pulls office tasks, even allows you to watch movies and at the same time fits in a regular bag.

The 11-inch Air isn't big either. But he is just like that after working on a 12-inch MacBook. Not sure what it is poorly.

Apple's smallest laptop striking in size, weight. Every time you take it out of the bag, the thought runs through - unrealistically cool, just magic. Super thin, super light, super stylish. But at the same time toy.

When you work on such a small computer, from the outside it seems that you are doing some useless crap. A device of this size is purely psychologically associated with entertainment, even a little show-off. Coffeeshops, cross-legged, brooding eyes, latte macchiato, that's it.

It doesn't help that it is the "colored" versions that are popular. Almost no one buys a silver model, most similar to a MacBook (fact). Everywhere is either black or gold. Now we have added pink.

So, for a week, I constantly caught myself on a strange thought: this laptop is so small that seems unsuitable for work. Even when you yourself work on it and do not know the troubles. All this seems out of habit, although there is some reality in this.

For example, not everyone is so physically fit small display. Everything on this screen will be real small. If everything is not very good with vision, the macOS scaling settings will save. And then it is not clear why this laptop is better than the cheaper Air with the same powerful hardware inside.

And the keyboard area seems small. I can't imagine how a person with big hands will type on this and feel fine.

But the irony is that the 12-inch MacBook is smaller than the Air at O larger display area. That is, it seems to be better - if you measure the usefulness of the effective screen area. But prejudice and habit play a role, it was not possible to get rid of them in one week. Other factors also interfered.

Keyboard that I'm never used to

Exactly at keyboard I fell in love first when I bought my first Mac in 2010. The tactile feedback from typing, the layout of the keys, the movement of the mechanism and the shape of the pad - after so many years of living with Windows laptops, I suddenly found my benchmark.

Since then, the keyboard in the MacBook of all models has not changed much. And only the 12-inch MacBook breaks the rules. They put something weird in it. Maybe it just takes a month or two to get used to it. In one week, I couldn't adjust to the new buttons.

To be honest, the reduced key travel is an advantage: it cuts down on the time and effort required to write each letter. If you write a large text, you notice that you do it a little faster than usual. If only this feature were combined with the MacBook Air, it would be great!

And still no fun from typing to work on any of the standard MacBook keyboards. Here he is not, and that's it. It feels like writing on the iPad screen and listening to software clicks from the speaker. Someone has tampered with your usual keyboard.

I don't like the gaps between the keys, their height and width - the buttons almost merge with each other, I often misspell. Finally, the tactile surface is too rough and, pardon the expression, it rustles. Because of the matte finish. It will be 100% erased and the problem will go away, but the fact remains.

All this, of course, nitpicking. Getting used to the keyboard is always a matter of time and desire. But I still have it open. It was little things like this that stopped people from buying a 12-inch MacBook as their only work laptop.

The screen has two sides. One of them is glossy.

What I have always liked about the MacBook Air is the specific display coating. In "air" the screen is not covered with glass and is actually "recessed" inside a wide aluminum frame. Therefore, in terms of glare reflection, it is very close to matte, and not to the glossy type of displays.

And here's the new MacBook really shines.

This is a very contrasting difference, it is noticed instantly. You will see it in photos and you will always notice it at work, especially if you often use your laptop outdoors or in well-lit rooms.

It has an anti-reflective coating. It is good, reduces the brightness of highlights (and makes them blue-purple). But it does not work miracles, you can not just take and suppress the bright sunlight on the glass, while leaving it transparent. On the street, the picture from the Air's display is slightly better.

Does this mean Air wins? Hardly.

Let's be realistic: Air has huge display bezels, just wild by today's standards. This is a tribute to the old design and just the reluctance of Apple to change anything in a well-selling laptop. It's a pity, because against the background of a 12-inch MacBook, these stumps look ridiculous. I'm not talking about the quality of the matrix now, this is a separate issue.

That's just aluminum frames and plastic protection is not collect stains just like the glass in a 12-inch MacBook. Every time you open a twin, you leave a small stain. A trifle, but infuriates the perfectionist. Quite by accident you touch the frame - a trace inevitably remains until the next cleaning with microfiber.

It is strange that a cloth is not included in the kit. It is very lacking, at least carry it with you.

There is one more moment. It is not so much a drawback of the device as a conclusion from personal experience. I always have a Mac with me, in my hands or in my bag, in different situations and conditions. And so he is in additional danger.

Periodically falls, it doesn't scare me. You can’t get anywhere, small Kotska has already ceased to notice. So, if Air falls, in the worst case, you will bend a corner or leave a miniature dent. Nothing critical.

To damage the screen itself, you need to try very hard, at least open the laptop itself.

Everything is worse here. The fall of the 12-inch MacBook risks over broken display glass. This means a complete replacement of the cover, which can cost from 20 thousand rubles, or even more. You can't just replace one glass.

The chance to get an unscheduled repair grows 20 times. Just the thought of dropping such a fragile device on a corner makes you want to hug Air. And remember what wild things I had with him over the past 3 years. Everything went without the slightest consequences for the body, performance and wallet.

As a result, I have two impressions of the display. On the one hand, bright glare, hand marks, the danger of breaking the display. On the other hand, narrow frames and, of course, picture quality.

Display quality is fabulous and beyond praise

In order not to repeat hundreds of reviews, including ours, I will not go into details. But the display here is magically good.

It is incredibly contrasty, very bright, super rich and brutally clear. Editing anything on it, be it photos or videos, is a real pleasure. And watching movies in good quality is generally a thrill.

The screen has awesome viewing angles, and high resolution and high-quality scaling algorithms make the font and any texts very smooth, pleasing to the eye, regardless of lighting or background. macOS itself looks better, more detailed, just more colorful.

After Air, it seems that you just upgraded your eyes and began to see something that you didn’t notice before.

Such a screen has another plus that only owners of several Air models of different years of manufacture will understand and notice. He consistently good regardless of model.

The fact is that the color calibration in the "air" series of Apple laptops is constantly different, like the screens themselves. Four different manufacturers supply approximately dozen different matrices for the MacBook Air, each of which has slightly different viewing angles, contrast and color settings, and maximum brightness. Therefore, two different Air models will show the same color in different ways.

LG-matrices are often faded, and Samsung- on the contrary, supercontrasting. Colors range from blue to green-yellow. Some cannot be fixed even by calibration by built-in system tools.

All this chaos is not on the Retina screen in the 12-inch MacBook. It is perfectly calibrated from the factory. You just take it and use it, enjoy the right, bright colors. This alone is worth a lot. I speak as someone who almost went crazy adjusting color in the Air after a complete reinstall of the system.

Performance. It's all right here guys.

Roma Yuryev and Dima Cherenkov use 12-inch MacBooks in our editorial office. Roma lives far away, so he was lucky. But Dima got it. We have already named his first generation laptop SlowBook and we joke not only about the brakes (sometimes honestly invented), but also about the foreign black color of the body. Otherwise, his Asus is very good.

The base models of the first-generation 12-inch MacBooks didn't impress me. They were sufficient for basic text work, but their power was lost with a large number of open browser tabs and a “heavy” program running in the background. Like Photoshop.

What my working mode looks like: 20 Chrome tabs, of which three with running Flash and another ten with very heavy web pages; open and regularly called Photoshop + Bridge in the background with RAW photo editing; running iTunes, Skype, Slack, Telegram and Viber, background processes of Yandex.Disk, Google Drive and Twitter client.

I constantly noticed that in many tasks the 12-inch MacBook of 2016 really faster my Air. This was not only about the speed of opening files (thanks to the super-fast SSD drive), but also the overall agility of the system.

Unless at peak loads and with Photoshop open, the animation of the Dock interface sometimes lags. A light reminder that the computer has limits, it's just that now they are harder to find when actively working.

I think everyone here understands what it is not gaming laptop. I didn’t run any games on it and I’m sure that nothing modern will work with a digestible picture and performance. But I watched a 4K video from YouTube, and, unlike my Air, it played perfectly well, without brakes and delays.

The conclusion is simple: it no longer SlowBook, even if you take the base model. And that's great. In all the basic "dvenashki" there is a 256 GB SSD, which is enough for most people. And another 8 GB of RAM, which is very appropriate for those who like to edit photos, and in general a good start for the future.

So that advise a new model for those who are disappointed in the power of the first generation.

And how to live with one port?

Not very bad. In my case.

First, I found that I need to connect to a laptop only card reader. And once every 3 weeks, charge an iPhone from it. The first is solved by purchasing an adapter compatible with USB Type-C. The second is about the same: you buy the original Lightning to USB Type-C cable, you live on.

Thanks to this macbook, I was convinced again: flash drives are not needed. Transferring files is easier and faster with AirDrop. Or throw in a free "cloud". In extreme cases, there is an adapter, this is not the biggest torment: I poked it into the port, threw off the right one, pulled it out.

Someone will need to have two connected USB devices with full-size ports at once. Then special expander docks for USB Type-C are suitable, they are made by several companies. This is easy to take with you, it takes up no more space than a card reader. A good thing.

If you really need three USB ports or even more, it remains to recommend buying a MacBook Pro - sorry, but demanding so many connectors from a miniature laptop is just silly.

Speaking of ports. The laptop is small, you often use it on the couch without stands. Once I sat down and suddenly realized that I don't miss MagSafe. And all because charging from the port no longer falls out, you don’t knock it out with your knee, you don’t take a steam bath, as before. This is a double point, after all, the magnetic mount has a bunch of other advantages. But even without it, not bad, 50/50.

It turned out that you can already live with USB Type-C. It is most important. What is missing is the second such connector. Since we are moving into the future, why not?

Last thing. About color

I took not just a 12-inch MacBook, but the most unusual one. Pink.

Color "pink gold" appeared this year. It is immediately clear who it is intended for. But the interesting thing is that its shade is very unstable, it is almost impossible to photograph or evaluate it in its original state.

Under different lighting conditions, a pink MacBook can appear gold, grey, pale red, wild pink. The run is large, the impressions are also different. When it's completely pink, I'll be honest - brr, I don't like it.

But a little pale - already normal. But no matter how you feel about color and prejudices, this laptop does not suit a man at all. And the comparison with the pink iPhone is incorrect: the MacBook uses a different shade, it is more saturated, towards purple.

You can take a pink iPhone if you are a hipster or you don't care about the crowd and just like the shade. But the pink MacBook looks good only for girls. As, however, and gold, but this is already ichmo.

Get the silver one guys. The rest of the girls :)

So whether to change the Air to a 12-inch MacBook

Yes, if:

  • you want a normal display
  • ready to get used to the keyboard (and type faster)
  • Need a portable laptop
  • hardly use USB ports
  • ready to buy a couple of adapters and cables
  • used to carrying a laptop in a case and with microfiber
  • your Air model was released before 2015
  • 108 thousand rubles lie idle

Not, if:

  • you are completely and completely satisfied with Air
  • frequently drop or carelessly handle your laptop
  • use your laptop in difficult conditions
  • bad or slow typing on the keyboard
  • you have nearsightedness or vision problems
  • probably no money, I don't know what to think of

Personally, I decided to wait another maximum year and think. If nothing changes, my next work laptop will be a 12-inch one. The screen is awesome, the performance is now good. You will have to straighten your arms, try not to drop and, of course, get used to the keyboard.

Conclusion ladies on simple examples.

12" MacBook is a fragile secretary. Young, smart, beautiful, slim, efficient! But with a subtle mindset and a couple of cockroaches in my head, to which you will have to adapt in order to appreciate all the other pluses.

But if you really love your Air, then take your time. Macbook Air- like a bearded jock after drying. An adult who has already tried everything, is capable of everything and is smart exactly as much as you expect from him. A predictably useful comrade, 100% familiar, who will support you in battle without surprises.

Apple just announced an update to its Macbook and MacBook Air line of laptops.

In contact with

On Tuesday, April 19, much to the delight of Apple fans, Apple announced the release of a new 12-inch MacBook with Retina display. The device received a version in the color "rose gold" and an improved "stuffing".

The new 12-inch MacBook boasts sixth-generation Intel Core M processors (m3, m5, and m7 depending on configuration) for quiet operation and power efficiency.

“Working in tandem, the processor and OS X use so little power that the computer barely gets warm, so there's no need for a fan to cool it. And that means your MacBook will work silently, ”according to the official Apple website.

The device is equipped with 8 GB of LPDDR3 RAM with a frequency of 1866 MHz and built-in storage of 256 GB or 512 GB. Responsible for the graphics processor Intel HD Graphics 515, 25% performance increase. Retina display resolution is 2304 x 1440 pixels (pixel density - 226 ppi). The screen has an LED backlight.

The 12-inch MacBook supports Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity, Wi‑Fi 802.11ac, and is IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n compliant. As reported on the Apple website, the novelty can work up to 11 hours without recharging, so that users no longer have to limit themselves to wires. Charging is via a USB-C port, but the rumored Thunderbolt 3 is missing from the new MacBook.

The laptop is extremely lightweight and compact (dimensions: 28.5 x 19.65 x 0.35/1.31 cm, weight - 0.92 kg). The device is available in four color options - gold, silver, space gray and rose gold.

Users from Russia can purchase a MacBook now. A model with a dual-core Intel Core M processor with a clock speed of 1.1 GHz and an internal memory of 256 GB will cost 106,990 rubles. A novelty with a dual-core Intel Core M processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and an internal memory of 512 GB costs 129,990 rubles.

When it comes to updating the MacBook Air, Apple only managed to increase the amount of RAM. From now on, 8 GB of RAM is the standard for all 13.3-inch configurations. The line of 11-inch versions of the "air" MacBook has not received any changes.

In recent years, Apple, intentionally or not, has shown new mobile devices as accessories, image details. It looks like it has reached laptops - this week Apple showed an updated 2016 MacBook in rose gold. Five facts you need to know about the new product - in our test.

Color - now also pink

The color of the laptop case is perhaps the last thing that true gadget lovers pay attention to. However, it is worth considering that we are talking about Apple - which means that design plays the same (if not more) important role as the technological "stuffing".

The 2016 MacBook will be available in rose gold, in addition to the usual silver, space gray and gold. Externally, the device is really nice - the manufacturer tried to rid the aluminum unibody body of details that distract attention from the color. If you want to collect the entire collection of portable devices in the color "rose gold" (recall, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch are produced in the same solution), then this is the only option so far.

Dimensions and weight remain the same - at 920 grams, the MacBook is 160 grams lighter than the smallest 11-inch MacBook Air. But unlike the rest of the Air line, the MacBook features a 2304 x 1440 Retina display, a display that only the Pro line of MacBooks can boast of.

Performance - increased, but inferior to Air and Pro

From the point of view of the filling, the most important difference from last year's MacBook was the updated processor. The laptop is powered by a 6th Gen Intel Core M dual-core processor (Skylake) clocked at up to 1.3GHz (up to 3.1GHz with Turbo Boost) and faster 1866MHz memory.

The GeekBench synthetic test showed that the processor in the base model of the new MacBook is 10-12 percent faster than in the 2015 laptop. However, the entry-level MacBook Air, also from last year, outperformed the new MacBook by 6 percent in the single-core test and 12 percent in the Multi-Core test. Some older models of the MacBook Pro in the multi-core test showed superiority by almost 2.5 times.

Considering that Apple positions the MacBook purely as a portable device, I decided to compare it with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro as well. In the Single Core mode, the mobile chip in the tablet turned out to be more powerful, and lost only 7-8 percent in the multi-core test.

Graphic performance in the MacBook has also grown due to the Intel HD Graphics 515 accelerator. The GFXBench Metal test, designed to evaluate the quality and speed of graphics processing, showed that in terms of image output speed (39 frames per second for normal images, 72 frames per second for Full HD vs. 28 and 53 fps) the new MacBook is really "faster" than last year's version.

However, even the base MacBook Air handles it better (60 and 80 fps). Although the new MacBook copes with the output of video content in games and movies on the screen, the speed of working with graphics programs leaves much to be desired. So, assembling one three-minute video in iMovie with video processing took almost an hour.

Port - still one

The only USB-C port is what I had the most doubts about the device. In general, I believe that a personal computer should be selected according to the work scenario. Simply put, if you work at home more often, naturally, you need a good home desktop, if you work on the go, then a powerful laptop, and so on.

My work, among other things, involves frequent travel and work in them in almost any conditions. Therefore, the idea of a super-compact and lightweight MacBook with relatively good hardware (and also design) is very attractive to me. But - there is one big "but": it still has one USB-C port for charging the laptop and almost any of its connections with the outside world (with the exception of another headphone input).

Forgive me, lovers of the minimalist design of the MacBook - one connector is not enough even for work on the go. Want to charge your iPhone while you're working with an external flash drive? Will not work. Need to connect to the hotel's Ethernet when the Wi-Fi in the room is very slow? Only if you don't need to charge your MacBook at the same time. The computer ran out of power while watching a movie via HDMI - well, you'll have to wait until it charges.

Of course, it's beneficial for Apple to keep that option in the age of the cloud, wireless sync, and over the air software updates. But many of the usual work scenarios that you expect from a laptop disappear.

Apple predicts that USB-C will eventually become the industry standard. But this has not happened yet - and even the company itself still includes standard USB cables with all mobile devices. Therefore, if you still decide to opt for a MacBook, it is better to stay in the accessories department and buy the right cable or adapter.

Battery charge - worth saving

Continuing the theme of the only port in the MacBook - a device in this configuration, logically, must provide the longest possible work without recharging. Apple claims battery life of 10 hours when browsing the web and 11 hours when watching iTunes videos. Either I overloaded the laptop with apps and video, or the full brightness mode played a role, but the MacBook did not live up to 8 hours of work with interruptions. Of these, 2 hours (and just over 30 percent of the charge) "ate" a movie from YouTube when connected via Wi-Fi. It took almost 3 hours to fully charge.

This is an expensive laptop.

Finally, about the main thing. The price of the MacBook 2016 in Russia is from 107 thousand rubles and more, depending on the configuration of the processor and flash drive (256 or 512 GB). The older MacBook Air (13-inch, 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 256 GB flash drive) will cost 14 thousand rubles cheaper (93 thousand), but without the Retina screen and Force Touch touchpad.

Retina-display and Force Touch is equipped with a MacBook Pro (13 inches, Intel Core i5 with a frequency of 2.7 GHz, 128 GB drive), which is sold in Russia for the same 107 thousand. But it is much less portable and has 2 times less memory.

To sum it up, the two reasons I would buy a 2016 MacBook are the looks (the rose gold color looks surprisingly good on a laptop) and the compactness (you barely feel it in your bag). However, you should not expect performance records from it (in comparison with Air and Pro). And yes, one USB-C port is only comfortable for those who are used to living in a completely wireless world.

When I registered on this site a couple of months ago, I was looking forward to when I would have a macbook. Before that, I wrote everything from an iPhone 7 plus and it was not easy.

I must say right away that I didn’t buy a laptop, but took it with the help of a program that allows you to pay a small amount monthly (up to 2 thousand) and after two or three years you return the laptop to the seller, and he sends you a new laptop And so on. In principle, it is better for us than to spend a large sum at once. I don't know if there is such a program in your city.

I remember at the beginning of 2016 my husband and I made a "wish board" and there we sculpted two MacBooks, gray and gold. There was no pink back then. And now it's the end of 2017, my husband has a macbook about spicegrey, and I have rosegold. Actually, I wanted pink with a white keyboard. But while this is not there, I'll try to find stickers or something like that on Ali. At least because I don’t want food and other dirt to get into the keyboard. So far, there is no such thing, but greasy traces remain, I often smear my hands with cream.

If you want to buy a poppy, then I advise you to purchase not only dust protection for the keyboard, but also a silicone case on Ali. Because it looks the same as an iPhone, it is easy to scratch.

When a poppy pro came to my husband, at first he could not get used to it, because he had been used to Windows and Sony all his life. I got hooked right away. I'm still the younger generation. But I haven't really worked on it yet. So far, I have managed to review all parts of Star Wars on it, before the premiere of a new one in the cinema. And I don't understand how I used to live without a laptop. That is, I had an old one, I did not use it. I watched all the movies on my iPhone plus. The most important thing after the first-class design that catches the eye is a very pleasing to the eye screen. I can’t describe why and why it is better than others, since I am not strong in technology, but it feels like there is definitely something in it that attracts you, and you no longer want to return to another.

As I said, I haven’t worked on it very much yet, but my husband had a couple of times when the MacBook started making sounds from overvoltage (cooling). I did not expect this from a poppy. I read on Wikipedia that these laptops do not have a cooling system, ventilation. Then you need to be careful not to overload it with work, not to open many bookmarks at the same time. By the way, this was the main reason why we decided to buy macbooks, because our sony vaios, excellent laptops, but for some reason taken off the market, often hissed from overheating.

I really like the battery, it lasts a very long time.

These are my first impressions of getting to know this device, as new interesting details are discovered, I will update the review.
