The best push-button phones. Review of simple push-button phones with a powerful battery Push-button business phone of the year

If you are looking for the best push-button phone of 2019 that you can give to a child, an elderly person, or use as a backup worker, we will suggest the best option in terms of price and features.

Which feature phone to choose in 2019

Don't expect much from a feature phone. It would be good if it had a bright screen with a TFT or IPS matrix, as well as a battery of 800 mAh or more, enough for 3-5 days in standby mode.

The most famous and respected manufacturers of push-button phones are Philips, Digma, Nokia, Prestigio, the Russian brand Vertex, and recently the Chinese Xiaomi was added to them.

If you are buying a good feature phone for an elderly person, look for a model with large buttons, a loud speaker and large font on the display.

And it’s worth considering: even the coolest push-button phone will not take as bright and detailed pictures, and will not shoot video in such good resolution as a smartphone. Most modern “buttons” are equipped with a camera from 0.30 to 2 MP. To imagine the quality of the shooting, remember UFO photographs, where the outlines of something incomprehensible are visible against a blurred background.

10. Digma LINX N331 mini

The average price is 590 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • screen 1.77″, resolution 160×128
  • no camera
  • Bluetooth
  • battery 800mAh
  • weight 71g, WxHxD 48.80x110x14.90mm
  • MP3 player, radio

This is the cheapest feature phone in our rating. But despite its low price, it has a number of advantages.

Among them: beautiful design, compact size, comfortable keyboard and long “life” on a single charge. In standby mode, this phone will last up to 5 days, which, you see, is not bad. So if you are looking for an inexpensive working dialer, then this model is what you need.

pros: you can set your own melody for the call, support for two SIM cards, well-built body.

Minuses: small font on the screen, some users complain about muffled sound from the earpiece combined with the main one. Others say the sound is normal. Therefore, when purchasing, do not be lazy and make a test call to evaluate the sound quality during a conversation yourself.

9. INOI 245R 4.0

The average price is 1,990 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • screen 2.4″
  • camera 1.30MP
  • memory 32MB, memory card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • RAM capacity 32MB
  • battery 800mAh
  • weight 53g
  • radio

The first, but not the only “folding phone” in the ranking of the best push-button phones of 2019. And although its characteristics are modest, matching the price, the volume reserve is impressive, the sound is clear, the battery lasts for 4 days in standby mode, and there is support for two SIM cards.

And another small but useful feature: if you are not satisfied with the built-in ringtone, you can set your own from a memory card.

pros: high-quality assembly, simple and convenient controls, the font is not too small and not too large.

Minuses: There is practically no free memory, you will have to buy an additional microSD card.

8. Prestigio Grace A1

The average price is 1,490 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • camera 0.30MP
  • memory 30.72MB, memory card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • RAM capacity 32MB
  • battery 950mAh
  • weight 102g, WxHxD 58×136.60×8.50mm
  • MP3 player, radio

A stylish and easy to use phone that is great for making calls. It is equipped with a removable battery with a capacity of 950 mAh, a large screen with a good brightness reserve, and allows you to store up to 32 GB of user files on a memory card. Its metal front panel looks solid and expensive, and thanks to its thin body, the device is comfortable to hold in your hand.

pros: vibrates strongly, rings loudly, good microphone.

Minuses: The buttons are very easy to press, even if the phone is in a backpack or pocket. For the search in the phone book to work, you need to write down the names of contacts with a small letter.

7. Philips Xenium E580

The average price is 1,990 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • screen 2.8″, resolution 320×240
  • 2MP camera
  • memory 64MB, memory card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • RAM capacity 64MB
  • battery 3100mAh
  • weight 145g, WxHxD 57.60×133.50×14.90mm
  • MP3 player, radio

If you have heard anything about the Philips push-button phone with the most powerful battery, then it is in front of you.

This is a good push-button phone for an elderly person who often forgets to charge gadgets. He can throw the Xenium E580 in his bag or pocket for a week or two, and remember about it only during calls.

Those who like to read an e-book in their free time can be pleased with the fact that this phone has a txt file reader that supports Unicode encoding. The text document must be placed in the Ebook folder, which is located on the memory card.

Another feature of this phone is the ability to use it as a Power bank (the cable must be purchased separately). Of course, it can’t compare with the Xenium E580, but it’s quite suitable for recharging in an emergency.

pros: support for two SIM cards, large buttons, a screen with a large margin of brightness, well-readable font on the screen, a solid durable case, a bright flashlight.

Minuses: no T9, you can’t put a photo on a contact.

6.Nokia 8110 4G

The average price is 4,770 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • screen 2.45″, resolution 320×240
  • 2MP camera
  • 4GB memory, no memory card slot
  • 3G, 4G LTE, LTE-A, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
  • RAM capacity 512MB
  • battery 1500mAh
  • weight 117g, WxHxD 49.30×133.45×14.90mm
  • MP3 player, radio

Perhaps best known for its cameo in The Matrix, Nokia's banana phone has received a tech upgrade with a Qualcomm 205 chipset and improved 4G connectivity.

Its design turned out to be very bright and successful thanks to the “slider” form factor. The curved polycarbonate body and 2.4-inch curved display fits easily into your back pocket.

Other nice features include Wi-Fi hotspot mode, a 2-megapixel camera with flash, and synchronization with Google Gmail and Outlook. Battery life is another huge plus - it lasts about 3 days on standby.

pros: good call quality, when making calls you can hear your interlocutor well, and he can hear you.

Minuses: It is impossible to remove pre-installed games, the plastic case is loose and easy to scratch.

5. Nobby 220

The average price is 1159 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • memory 32MB, memory card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • RAM capacity 32MB
  • battery 1000mAh
  • radio

In our top push-button phones of 2019, two phones in a row have a cheerful “banana color”. However, unlike the Nokia 8110, the Nobby 220 does not have a camera, Internet access, Wi-Fi or GPS.

But there are similarities: a loud speaker that does not wheeze or distort the voice during calls, a bright and contrasting screen and a durable battery that can easily withstand 4-5 days in standby mode.

So if all you want in a phone is good looks, the ability to make calls and long battery life, then the Nobby 220 is a great option for the money.

pros: supports two SIM cards, vibrates loudly, compact.

Minuses: The keyboard backlight is weak.

4. Nokia 3310 Dual Sim

The average price is 2,910 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • screen 2.4″, resolution 320×240
  • 2MP camera
  • memory 20.48MB, memory card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • battery 1200mAh
  • WxHxD 51×115.60×12.80mm
  • MP3 player, radio

The retro design of this phone will make any old-school gadget lover smile. The original Nokia 3210 sold 125 million units worldwide. And in the wake of this success, the company released an updated version of 3G, whose design copies the original.

However, the 2.4-inch polarized screen now offers improved color reproduction and daylight clarity.

The Nokia 3310 Dual Sim is a great phone for all ages, with pretty solid, large buttons, FM radio with headphone output, and a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash. Just don't expect her to take your best selfie.

Naturally, the 3310 comes with the iconic Snake game, which now looks a little more colorful thanks to an improved display.

pros: robust body, good sound quality during calls, battery lasts for a week in standby mode, user-friendly interface.

Minuses: The convex glass of the screen is very easy to scratch, the back cover is difficult to open, and the price is too high compared to many competitors.

3. Land Rover X9 FLIP

The average price is 4,490 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • camera 1.3MP
  • Communication standard: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
  • External display: color, 1.8 inches, 320×240 pixels
  • Internal touch display: resistive, color, 3.5 inches, 320x240 pixels
  • Actual battery capacity: about 3500 mAh (rated value is 13800 mAh)
  • Weight (without battery): 163 g
  • Dimensions: 115x59x24 mm

If you need a feature phone with the most powerful battery, then choose X9 FLIP. The manufacturer promises that it will work up to 10 hours in talk mode, and up to 15 days in standby mode.

  • animated menu with large font;
  • rubber plug covering the charging connector;
  • mechanical buttons for quick response located near the external display;
  • stereo headset included;
  • you can put a photo on a contact in your address book;
  • have access to the Internet.

pros: very loud speaker, automatic recording of telephone conversations, unusual design.

Minuses: IP54 dust and water resistant (splash and dripping water resistant, partially dust resistant) rather than IP67 or IP68.

2. Vertex S108

The average price is 2390 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • screen 2.8″, resolution 320×240
  • 2MP camera
  • memory 32MB, memory card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • battery 900mAh
  • WxHxD 56.90×109.80×14.40mm
  • radio

Among the best push-button phones, there are few models that can compete with the Vertex S108 in design. The body with a metal hinge looks impressive and expensive, making this model a real “gentleman’s toy.”

And the back cover is flat and pleasant to the touch and can withstand an accidental fall to the floor without consequences. Do not repeat at home!

Otherwise, the capabilities of this feature phone with a good camera and battery are similar to most other mobile devices. It has two full-size slots for SIM cards, convenient search in the contact book (just enter the first letter of the name) and automatic recording of conversations. So to the question of which push-button phone is better to buy within 2,500 rubles, we can confidently answer: “Vertex S108.”

pros: easy to read font, loud sound, speech transmission without distortion, there is an LED indicator for missed calls.

Minuses: Keypad lock cannot be disabled, internal memory is small.

1. Xiaomi QIN 1S

The average price is 3,757 rubles.
Characteristics:

  • Dual SIM support
  • screen 2.8″, resolution 320×240
  • memory 32MB, memory card slot
  • Bluetooth
  • there is no camera
  • 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
  • battery 1480mAh

The statement that “Xiaomi is the best for your money” was not born out of nowhere. The Chinese company, which produces everything from smart home devices to glasses and mugs, is very picky about the quality of its products. There's too much competition.

And Xiaomi QIN 1S will not disgrace the honor of its manufacturer. This push-button phone with a good battery can last in standby mode from 5 to 7 days or more, has a modern USB Type-C connector, a screen with an IPS matrix, and its “fiery motor” is a dual-core Spreadtrum SC9820E processor.

Users note the powerful vibration mode, thanks to which you will not miss the right call, wide buttons and glass rather than plastic on the screen. Although the latter may be a disadvantage, since the glass may break if the device falls.

pros: thanks to the playback of music by the conversational and main speakers at the same time, the phone produces good stereo sound; if necessary, you can turn off the mobile Internet.

Minuses: It’s hard to find for sale in Russia, look on Aliexpress, you’ll have to install the Russian firmware yourself (can be found on 4pda.ru).

Most people, especially at a young age, give their preference to phones with a touch screen, multifunctional buttonless gadgets with different sizes and lists of functions. They consider push-button mobile phones to be a relic of the past, too simple devices that do not have sufficient functionality and can only be used for calls. However, in the mobile device market, models with buttons are not much inferior to their advanced touchscreen competitors. Their range is also growing rapidly, they are filled with new functionality, support 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, etc. For pensioners and visually impaired people, phones are produced with large buttons and a clear, large display of numbers on the screen. In this article we will look at the TOP 5 most popular push-button mobile phones of 2016–2017.

Mobile phone Nokia 215 Dual SIM

Nokia 215 Dual SIM is the base model of the phone. It came out not long ago. Its functional characteristics are far from perfect, but this has a positive effect on its cost.

  1. Packaging and equipment. Nokia 215 Dual SIM is packed in a compact colorful box made of thick cardboard. A phone is drawn on it and some information about it is provided. The kit is quite modest: a mobile phone, a charger, a battery and instructions for use.
  2. Appearance. The phone is available in three colors: green, white and black. The body is made of plastic. It is matte in texture and quickly begins to wear off. There are no complaints about the assembly, all the parts fit well, there are no creaks or play. The back cover is quickly removed, under it there is a battery, slots for a memory card and SIM cards. It's immediately clear that the phone is a budget phone, since there are no auxiliary side buttons such as power and volume. At the top there is a micro-USB connector and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. A rather weak flashlight is also built in. There is a speaker at the back with medium volume. At maximum settings, its clarity deteriorates significantly. There is only one microphone and in windy weather there are disturbances in sound quality. The weight of the device is 78.4 grams, and the dimensions are 116?50?12.9 mm.
  3. Screen. The display resolution of the Nokia 215 Dual SIM is 240×320 pixels with a diagonal of 2.4 inches. The fonts are clearly visible, but the screen size is clearly not enough. In bright light conditions, the readability of the text decreases, but it can be read. It is not suitable for watching video files.
  4. Keyboard and battery. The phone buttons are rubberized and illuminated in a uniform white color. They are clearly visible in the dark. Ergonomics here are at a high level. The central navigation key can be programmed with its own functions. A Lyon battery with a capacity of 1100 mAh lasts about 29 days in standby mode, 20 hours when talking, and you can listen to music for 50 hours, according to the manufacturer. The battery is fully charged in 1.5 hours.
  5. Peculiarities. Built-in BT 3.0 with support for the A2DP profile allows you to connect a wireless headset to your mobile phone. This feature works well, but purchasing these headphones will cost the price of the entire phone. The micro USB connector does not support synchronization with a PC. The device has 1 radio module, because of this, two SIM cards do not work at the same time. The phone book contains 1000 names, and numbers are added to the blacklist manually. It is possible to set 5 alarms at once; FM radio does not work without a headset. The Opera browser is installed without the possibility of replacement. There are 4 games built in, but after a certain level you need to pay for each one to install the full version. There is a Facebook and Twitter application. EDGE connection is very slow.
The price of Nokia 215 Dual SIM in Russia is 2,980?2,990 rubles. See the video review of the model below:

Samsung GT-E1200 phone

The new Samsung GT-E1200 is also known under the names Samsung E1200 and Samsung Keystone 2. This budget model is intended for retirees, students and people who cannot afford expensive gadgets.
  • Packaging and equipment. Model GT–E1200 is supplied in a compact cardboard box. Next to it there is a charger, a battery and, of course, instructions. The packaging shows an image of the phone and some of its characteristics.
  • Appearance. The mobile phone looks simple, but tasteful. The manufacturers have made horizontal decorative stripes on the back plastic cover, and the display is covered with glossy plastic that gets dirty easily. The phone is comfortable and pleasant to hold in your hand. The model is available in white or black. The weight of the GT-E1200 is 65 grams, and the dimensions are 108×45×13.5 mm. There is nothing on the top and bottom of the device, and on the left side there is an eyelet for attaching a strap. The right side is equipped with a socket for charging and connecting a headset; it is hidden by a special plug. The inconvenience is that only branded chargers fit into this socket. If you don’t have it at hand, you won’t be able to recharge your phone, and if you lose your branded headphones, forget about music too. The flashlight function is replaced by the screen; in this mode, it begins to glow at its maximum capabilities.
  • Assembly and screen. The phone is assembled well, all elements are tightly held in place, the cover can be quickly removed, but this does not affect the reliability of its fastening. The case does not wear out for a long time, and if abrasions occur somewhere, they are minimal and practically invisible. The display diagonal is 1.52 inches with a resolution of 128×128. It is capable of displaying about 64,000 colors. However, in sunny weather it is difficult to see anything on the screen. The colors are dull, the brightness can be set independently, as well as the backlight. If you tilt the phone, the image on the display will be distorted; small font also does not add advantages to the phone.
  • Battery and sound. The battery capacity of the GT-E1200 phone is 800 mAh, one charge is enough for 4 days of average load. The speaker and microphone have proven themselves well, everyone can hear each other clearly, but there is a slight distortion of voices. Vibration alert is at an average level.
  • Peculiarities. The phone book can store about 200 numbers; you cannot assign a melody to an individual contact, nor can you assign an image to it. There is no multimedia in the device, there is not even a built-in radio receiver. A stopwatch, calculator, timer and converter are standard. Only one of the games is installed - Super Jewel Quest.
The price of Samsung GT–E1200 in Russia is 1300–1750 rubles. A more detailed review of the smartphone in this video:

Philips Xenium E311 phone

Philips cares about all its customers, including pensioners and people with visual impairments. It was for them that the Xenium E311 mobile phone with large numbers on the keyboard was developed.
  1. Packaging and equipment. The box of the device is compact, white, with a picture of the phone on it and some information about it. The kit includes: a mobile phone, a docking station, a headset, a charging device, a set of fastenings, a warranty, a USB cable and an instruction manual (they did not make the font large).
  2. Appearance. When viewed from the outside, the Xenium E311 phone seems unusually large in comparison with other similar models. But for a pensioner this is a big plus, since hand strength, reaction and coordination of movements are no longer the same and such a phone is easier to handle. It holds better in the hand due to the rough back surface of the case. Its dimensions are 134?56?15 mm. They do not affect the weight, which is only 112 grams. Like the device itself, the docking station is dark blue and light green. Using a mounting kit (two screws with a metal strip), it can be fixed to a table or wall. All the necessary connectors and keys are located on the sides. There is a built-in flashlight and a headphone jack at the top. At the bottom there are contacts for the docking station and a micro USB socket. On the right side there is a flashlight on/off switch and a lock button, and on the left side there is a volume control. At the back there is an emergency call button, camera and speaker. Opening the back cover, we see the battery, slots for 2 SIM cards and a memory card.
  3. Ergonomics and screen. If we consider the Xenium E311 phone from the point of view of ergonomics, we will immediately note the large keys with large symbols printed on them. The layer of paint on the symbols is so thick that you can feel the desired key in complete darkness and with your eyes closed. When you press the buttons, a voice announces your action, plus there is a very bright backlight. On the display, entered numbers and symbols are also displayed greatly enlarged, so this phone is a real find for people with low vision. The emergency call button cannot be pressed accidentally, since it does not protrude above the body, which is very convenient. The screen is 2.4 inches - 37×49 mm. It has a resolution of 240×320 pixels. The image on it is not very clear, and in bright light it becomes even worse, but the characters being typed are visible normally.
  4. Peculiarities. The phone's menu design is no different from other Philips models. There is an FM radio with which you can not only listen to radio broadcasts without connecting a headset, but also record them. A calculator and Bluetooth 2.1 are built in as standard, and 2G communication is supported. The audio player recognizes mp3, Midi, etc. files. Video viewing is possible in MPEG 4 or H.264 format. There is a “magnifying glass” function, with its help a person can adjust images and text on the screen, enlarge or reduce. We note that the volume of the device is good; an incoming call can be heard at a great distance. During a conversation, speech is also clearly audible to both parties. The flashlight shines brightly and turns on with one button. The phone has 3.8 MB of memory, so it is better to purchase a micro SD card separately. The camera shoots in a resolution of 320×240 pixels.
  5. Battery. The Xenium E311 phone is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1530 mAh. According to the developers, this battery capacity lasts for 23 hours with constant talk and about 1600 hours in standby mode. During the tests, it turned out that if you use the device at medium loads, the charge will run out after 5 days. The battery can be charged either from the mains via an adapter or from a USB cable via a PC; it takes approximately 2.5 hours.
The price of Philips Xenium E311 in Russia is about 4900 rubles. Review of the smartphone in the following video:

Just5 Brick phone

With the help of the famous Artemy Lebedev studio, the Just5 organization created a retro model of the Just5 Brick phone.
  1. Packaging and equipment. Most manufacturers of mobile gadgets are switching to compact packaging, but Just5 is not like that. Their box is large in size. It is silver in color with the company logo in the foreground. Inside, on the first platform, the device itself is located, and on the second, in its niches, there are: charging, the most ordinary headphones and a proprietary orange USB cable. The bottom of the box is filled with thick instructions and a warranty card.
  2. Appearance. The Just5 Brick phone attracts attention from afar. The design of the device is thought out to the smallest detail; it is pleasant to hold in your hand. The body is plastic and has a rectangular shape with truncated corners. The front part is occupied by a very small display, only 1.77 inches, and it is easy to leave fingerprints on it. The keyboard takes up the rest of the front part, the buttons are very large, but they look good. The backlight is quite bright. The model can be: black, yellow, white, red and brown-green. On the left side there is a volume control key and an FM radio start key. On the right is the flashlight switch. The bottom edge is equipped with a microphone, a special eyelet for a strap and a micro USB connector. At the top there is a flashlight, a headphone jack and a retractable telescopic antenna. There is a built-in lock button and speaker at the back. Easily removing the back cover, you will see the battery and one slot for a SIM card.
  3. Screen. The display in Just5 Brick is 1.77 inches with a resolution of 160×128 pixels and support for 65,000 shades. Color rendering and backlighting leave much to be desired, graininess is large and viewing angles are poor. The interface only works with white and black colors. It looks like a complete imitation of the old monochrome display.
  4. Peculiarities. Pensioners and people with vision problems will undoubtedly be pleased with the fonts; they are very large, as are the buttons. Speech is transmitted in good quality, everyone can hear each other without interference. The call speaker is quite loud, and the vibration alert is also felt well. The FM radio picks up channels quickly and transmits without interference, even without extending the antenna. The phone menu is easy to understand; when locked, the date and time are displayed large on the display. The address book is designed for 250 contacts.
  5. Battery. The Just5 Brick has a battery capacity of 1000 mAh. According to the manufacturer, it can last 8 hours in conversation mode, and about 250 hours in standby mode. In general, with average loads, you will need to charge the device no earlier than every 4 days.
The price for Just5 Brick in Russia is from 3,000 to 4,000 rubles. More information about the phone in the video below:

In our review, we tried to take a closer look at the TOP 5 new push-button phones of 2016–2017. We can safely say that such models are very necessary for older people and everyone who suffers from vision problems. Such devices have all the necessary functions, while being very budget-friendly.

In the world of advanced digital technologies, where all modern mobile phones are based on touch control, the so-called “granny phones” or push-button phones have begun to be forgotten a little.

Despite the wild popularity of touchscreen smartphones, the production of push-button devices continues, which have their own audience in the form of children and pensioners. Such phones for older people have a minimal set of functions and are quite convenient to use.

10 KENEKSI M5

Quite a bright phone model, the outer casing of which resembles the silhouette of a racing car. The quality of the material, represented by high-strength plastic, was not affected either. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the gadget fits comfortably in your hand. It is worth noting the multifunctionality of the device, which consists of an alarm clock, voice recorder, radio and camera. By the way, the latter produces fairly clear images with high resolution.

The KENEKSI M5 push-button phone also supports 2 SIM cards, which allows you to make calls to numbers of other operators without purchasing an additional means of communication. The gadget is supplied with a charger and instruction manual.

Pros:

  • Interesting and stylish design.
  • A light weight.
  • Long battery life.

Minuses:

  • Supports only GSM communication.
  • Muffled ringing sound.

9 BQ BQM-2802 Kyoto

This makes it possible to take selfies, so popular in the modern world.

BQ BQM-2802 Kyoto has a bright flashlight and a powerful battery that can hold a charge for 6.5 hours during continuous conversation. The gadget has a radio with a function for text display of information on the display. If the phone's built-in memory is not enough, it can be increased by 16 GB using memory cards.

The popularity of push-button mobile phones is gradually falling (for example, in 2015, their sales decreased, according to Euroset, by 23.5%), because regular phones are being replaced by smartphones, but push-button models are still quite popular, especially among older people, who find it quite difficult to understand smartphones, and besides, they simply do not need the functionality of a smartphone. There are also young people who specifically buy push-button cell phones so as not to waste time on social networks, games and other delights of smartphones, and to use the phone only for its intended purpose - to make and receive calls. Parents who care that their child does not sit on a smartphone during classes and after them, but is engaged in studying, also buy their children only push-button mobile phones. Finally, a cheap push-button phone can become a temporary phone for calls if the smartphone has to be taken to a service center for repairs. Another advantage of a push-button phone is that it holds a charge many times greater than the average smartphone, so you can take it with you on trips and not be afraid of being left without mobile communications because your phone runs out of charge at the most inopportune moment.

Just a year or two ago you could say that you were choosing a phone for your grandmother, but today the situation is different. Suddenly, push-button phones began to become a trend again, just like in the old days. We wrote about this recently in an article about buying mobile “classics”, and now we’ll talk about the new devices that the industry can offer.

advertising

It will be interesting to find out what has changed in this segment of electronics in the time that has passed since the publication of the last review dedicated to mobile phones.

In fact, there is nothing surprising here: in Europe, similar models of the lower price segment are sold for 15-20 euros at the checkout of any supermarket, complete with a prepaid SIM card. And since they don’t make a cult out of the phone there, like we do, it’s common to see a businessman driving a Lexus with a cheap dialer in his hands. By the way, the so familiar Samsung and LG never stopped producing “push-button” devices, but simply put them in the background.

Who even lives in this segment? Mainly affordable brands such as Fly, Micromax and teXet, as well as little-known Chinese ones and those classified among them: BQ, Qumo, Keneksi and others. However, there are also plenty of famous ones: Philips has never left this market, and Alcatel continues to release new phones along with smartphones.

Design

The fascination with monotonous design has also reached classic phones: now many, by analogy with identical faceless smartphones, produce cloned faceless black “bricks” with different names.

However, there are some noteworthy moments here too. Firstly, the activity of the Spanish company BQ Mobile, which strives to stand out even in this segment, offering a bright and memorable design for 1500-2000 rubles. Secondly, the fact that in fact there are far more than one hundred phone models on sale, and if you want a new phone and stand out with it, this is also not a problem. Or you can just buy a two-SIM black “brick” for 1000 rubles and walk around proudly with it.

In addition, some bright models can be an excellent first phone for a child of primary school and preschool age, especially since some of the options on our list look very childish.

Note that you can still find the classic Nokia 8800 and 8600 on official sales - at an average price of 15 thousand rubles for the latter and 50 thousand for the first (especially for the Sapphire Arte modification - with a real sapphire instead of a button). Classics, as they say, never grow old or die. Not to mention other retro devices, which have already been discussed in a separate article.

In general, I am glad that manufacturers (including the “first line” - Samsung and LG) do not ignore this, albeit not so profitable, but very useful segment of the market.

Starting to choose

Next, we will divide phones into two parts: “cheap” and “expensive”. But keep in mind that the amounts here are not at all similar to those for smartphones. Because by “expensive” we mean phones from 2 to 5 thousand rubles (there are more expensive ones, but very few), and by “cheap” - accordingly, up to two thousand rubles.

The criteria for selecting candidates were simple. First, they must be interesting or at least typical of their class. And secondly, they must be popular with customers, available in large quantities in stores and be relatively new.
