As I said in the previous article devoted to keyboard reviews, it is important to acknowledge the shortcomings of your products and offer adequate solutions to the problems that have arisen, and not sit behind stereotyped phrases. This time, too, we have to admit that the phone application from the Flyme bundle will suit only the most undemanding users. For the rest, we propose to get acquainted with five third-party "dialers" that can easily replace the standard one.
Go Dialer & Contacts
The Go Dev Team has appeared in almost all the most popular categories of applications, of course, they could not ignore the programs for calling contacts. The Go Dialer application has been on Google Play for a long time and at the time of its appearance it had many interesting features that other "dialers" now have, which does not make this program worse.Traditionally, let's start with the look. When you open it for the first time, you will see a numeric keypad with Latin and Cyrillic letters printed on it. If you wish, you can minimize the keyboard, then a list of all calls in chronological order will open on the whole screen. If the subscriber has received more than one call, they are all hidden under the contact card; to view them, just click on the arrow to the right of the number.
The keyboard supports Smart Dial - when you enter letters or numbers, the contacts whose names or numbers contain these combinations are displayed. Interestingly, unlike most other programs, Go Dialer searches not only by the first letters of a word.
Using the buttons located at the top of the screen, you can quickly navigate to incoming, outgoing and missed calls. The lower buttons are responsible for switching to other tabs, it is interesting that in addition to the usual pressing of the button, the transition using gestures to the right / left is also supported (the swiping animation is also configurable).
The "Contacts" tab is rather austere - you can quickly view the contact card, and clicking on the avatar opens a small window with quick actions (call, SMS or view a contact).
The main feature of Go Dialer is a huge number of themes (as in other products of the Go Dev Team), personally I really like the "ice" theme, many prefer dark themes.

Rocket dialer
Another well-known "dialer". When you open it for the first time, the program includes a small training mode, consisting of six slides. Then a familiar numeric block and a list of recent calls appear in front of you. Rocket Dialer has paid a lot of attention to gestures. You can see the full list of supported gestures in the screenshots below. I was pleasantly surprised by so many gestures.If you hide the keyboard, then at the bottom of the screen you can see two rows of buttons - the first one allows you to quickly switch to incoming / outgoing / missed calls, and the second opens tabs with contacts, favorite numbers and groups.
The address book is presented as a list of contacts with thumbnails of their photos. You can quickly call the desired subscriber using the button on the right, or by swiping from left to right. By the way, "swipe" from right to left opens a correspondence with a contact.
When you open a contact, you are shown detailed information about him, and from here you can quickly edit his data. An interesting point is HD Photo, it allows you to assign a high-quality photo that will not deteriorate after synchronization. However, in the case of Flyme OS, this is irrelevant, since this function is provided initially.
Dialer has many different themes that change its appearance, however, unlike Go Dialer, most of them are paid.

The program supports Smart Dial, the search is carried out not only by the first letters / numbers, but by the entire number / name / surname of the contact.
With the help of "swipes" on the digital block, you can quickly switch between the list of calls and the address book. The application has many settings: you can change the sorting of calls, change the color that the contact is highlighted with when searching, change the theme of the "dialer" and much more.

DW Phone
Until recently, I did not know anything about this application. I came across it just a week ago in the market and after testing it I also decided to add it to the article.The initial screen is represented by a list of calls and a numeric keypad. The application supports Smart Dial, the search is performed for the entire name, surname and number, Russian letters are present.
At the bottom of the screen, you can see buttons that are responsible for quickly navigating to the corresponding tabs. The Toolbar key allows you to change the shortcuts found on the bottom panel. Each of the tabs has its own settings. The application supports the display of "Favorites", a list of all contacts and groups.
Despite the support of many functions and the possibility of detailed customization, the DW Dialer application seemed to me overloaded with settings and completely ugly in appearance.

exDialer & Contacts
I saved the best dialer for last. What is exDialer? Quite simply, this is a dialer from MIUI custom firmware, available as a standalone application. I think many of you have heard a lot about MIUI, the programs from this firmware look great and have many functions, in fact, exDialer is no exception to the rule.The start screen greets us with a traditional numeric keypad and a list of recent calls. Neat arrows indicate the type of call (incoming / outgoing / missed), by the way, missed calls are highlighted in red. Swiping down hides the keyboard.
Swipe left / right allows you to quickly call a subscriber or send him an SMS. If the contact has several numbers, then when you call you are offered to set the main one or select them manually each time. In the program settings, you can change the language, enable landscape orientation, set the action when you click on a contact, and also change the height of the digital block.
Separately, I would note the support of themes, there are not many of them, but they are all very beautiful, personally, I like the dark ICS theme most of all.

A developer named Yermek Zhumagulov introduced DialerOne back in early 2010. Since then, this dialer has become one of the most popular alternative dialers for Android.
Many users choose DialerOne for a large set of additional functions. In addition to the completely standard numeric keypad and call history, this application has an easily customizable speed dial, T9 input, and many convenient functions for working with numbers.
To gain access to these functions, users just need to make a long tap on the contact. An impressive menu will open in front of them, from which you can send entries from the phone book by e-mail or SMS, copy to the clipboard, immediately add to the speed dial menu, create events in the calendar, etc.
Also, there is just a huge number of settings. The developer has divided them into seven large categories, each of which should help users change one or another aspect of this application.
Over the past few years, the Go Dev Team company has released dozens of applications for customizing the interface, and one of them is GoContacts... As usual, all products from this developer differ not only in their pleasant appearance, but also in a large number of additional functions.
In fact GoContacts is a good replacement for the standard phone book and dialers. With the help of this application, users will be able to group contacts, both by built-in groups and by ones created on their own, add phone numbers to speed dial, make a backup of the entire phone book, etc.
As for the telephone part, everything is relatively standard here. The developers didn't get too smart. The most interesting feature of the "dialer" is the various themes that can be downloaded and installed from the settings.
Appeared on Google Play for a long time. Since then, many interesting features have appeared in it, which eventually migrated to other similar applications. However, this does not make this program any worse. GoContacts remains the same convenient, functional and free alternative dialer for Android.
Rocket dial
It used to be part of a popular custom firmware called MIUI, but over time it still moved to the Google app store. And judging by the number of downloads and positive reviews, a huge number of users liked this dialer / address book.
As usual, programs from MIUI differ not only in a pleasant interface, but also have many additional functions. And this was no exception. This application has smart filtering of contacts (you can search by word, sound or use a hybrid filter) and grouping of call history.
Users can optionally enable landscape mode or add a few new features using dedicated plugins. There are not many extensions available on Google Play, but they can still add a few interesting tricks. For example, thanks to ConnectVibrate, the app will vibrate to notify the user when a call is connected or disconnected.
The developers have not forgotten about the themes either. By the way, there are not very many of them either. But in most cases, they look very neat and beautiful. Before buying, I advise you to try the free version, which will work for 7 days.

Is a functional dialer created by Russian developers. It is for this reason that all shortcomings and errors, as well as requests from users, are considered and resolved very quickly.
This dialer has a simple and intuitive interface, which makes it very smooth and fast. Also, the developers note that for each device, all interface elements are carefully drawn. However, despite the ease of use of the app, it boasts an impressive array of features.
As in the case with other "dialers", the developers paid a lot of attention to the phone book. There is a smart search in different fields, and this applies not only to contacts, but also to call history.
