Special corporate tariff for data transmission. Interesting for its "inhuman" essence, additional functionality and the possibility of flexible customization for the needs of a specific client.

The tariff parameters can be found on the website, below are the main areas of application of SIM-cards with this tariff:

  • Monitoring of transport and mobile objects - receiving information about the location and route of a / m (freight transport, courier delivery, taxi, etc.) to the control panel;
  • Monitoring of pipeline systems - remote measurements of liquid (gas) flow rate, temperature, and other parameters of the process medium.
  • Payment systems - transfer of transactions to the processing center from ATMs, POS terminals, street payment terminals, etc .;
  • Security - transmission of a signal and additional data (for example, coordinates) by pressing panic button, anti-theft systems, video surveillance, etc.

An important feature of the tariff is the absence of voice communication, this service is not provided on Telematics at all. Calling with “voice” from such SIM-cards is still not supposed, but the design can be simplified and the probability of misuse is almost zero.

Was it necessary to create a special tariff for such seemingly niche projects? Moreover, in terms of its basic price parameters, Telematics does not differ from the generally available Onliner tariff, the same 4.75 rubles. per one megabyte of traffic with kilobyte rounding of the session. As it turned out, the Telematics tariff itself is only one of the components of the new direction, which MTS intends to actively develop. Especially for Mobile-Review, Yuri Ostrovsky, Head of the Product Development Department of the Converged Solutions Development Department, shared his vision of the near future.

The M2M (machine-to-machine) direction is extremely promising and dynamically developing. Now such "mechanical" subscribers are relatively few, but potentially there may be no less of them than live users. And this market is growing very quickly. Already today it would be difficult or economically ineffective to abandon mobile transmission data between devices. ATMs and payment terminals are at every step and almost all of them are equipped with GPRS-modules, it would be too expensive to pull a cable to each "iron box".

By the way, I was always alarmed by inconspicuous GSM antennas on ATMs. Cash and non-cash money move through them serious, and packet data transfer is not one hundred percent reliable thing. The fragment of the network will turn out to be overloaded with voice at the inopportune moment, and there is no data transfer. Yuri explained that the reliability required in these cases is achieved by double redundancy; if necessary, data can be transmitted via the CSD (Circuit Switched Data) communication channel and even via SMS exchange.

In order not to retell in your own words, a small quote from the material carefully prepared by the MTS press service:

“Assessing the global M2M market, experts cite the following figures: today there are about 100 million devices operating in the world that remotely transmit data to information processing centers. According to experts, optimal way M2M data transfer - via wireless networks... Beyond the obvious savings in cabling wireless transmission data provides a significant reduction in the duration of sessions between devices: mobile network the average duration of a data transmission session today is about 5 seconds. against about 20 sec. for wired network common use... The projected growth of the M2M market in the world, according to the agencies of Future World Consultancy, RSA, Allied Business, Berg Insight, ABI Research, is 80-120% per year until 2012.

M2M services in Russia and the CIS countries are currently at the initial stage of development. For example, according to our estimates, the number of M2M modules in the MTS network in the most developed market in this respect - in Moscow today is less than one percent of the subscriber base. In the same time, Russian market M2M is growing rapidly, and MTS expects to become the leader in this promising market segment. Tariff "Telematics" is the first step of MTS in the strategy of development of M2M services. Over the next five years, according to our conservative estimates, the number of users of M2M services of MTS in Russia will exceed 3 million. "

The average monthly income from a "mechanical" subscriber is usually $ 5-8, but such "users" are predictable and loyal, this is important. Replacing a SIM card in a modem is not an easy operation and for the sake of momentary penny savings no one will do it. And if there are hundreds or thousands of terminals? What if SIM cards are installed in systems that monitor pipeline pressure somewhere at the edge of the world? Here, against your will, you will be one hundred percent loyal subscriber.

The consumption of GPRS traffic by such subscribers is low. Devices used on vehicles, consume 5-15 MB. per month, a bank terminal can "eat" more than 50 MB. per month. Despite the modest profitability of each individual SIM card, the stable and rapidly growing total income is encouraging. The company has taken this market segment seriously and intends to develop a complex of complete proposals and turnkey solutions. As examples of projects that have already taken place, they speak of the positive experience of cooperation with Zelenograd Avtokombinat, which, through the use of vehicle monitoring technologies, managed to reduce non-production vehicle runs and consumption of fuels and lubricants by 5% and thereby reduce costs by 6.1 million. rub. in year. In November 2009, MTS and the Moscow United Energy Company (MOEK) launched a joint project in the metropolitan area to ensure control of energy consumption. SIM cards are installed in energy consumption meters, which provide continuous information transfer to the server Central system accounting of energy resources of MOEK.

This market segment also looks attractive from the point of view of the growth of the subscriber base, because each “mechanical” subscriber is counted in the statistics as a regular one. So far, the number of such SIM-cards is relatively small, but if the predicted rapid growth takes place, it will become more difficult for analysts to calculate the average number of SIM-cards per each “living subscriber's soul”.

The actual tariff

As already written, voice calls not provided. Only GPRS, MMS, SMS and dial-up data transmission with a price of 1.35 rubles. per minute of both outgoing and incoming call... The tariff is a kind of "hybrid": with small occasional needs, you can use the basic version without a monthly fee, with more noticeable "appetites" of the device, you can connect one of the provided packages from 5 to 90 MB. The connected package is valid indefinitely, renewal on the 1st of every month. Subscription fee the GPRS traffic package is charged off on the 2nd day of each month in full. The connected package will be valid until it is changed or disconnected by the subscriber. The traffic included in the package can be spent within a calendar month, the unused remainder of the traffic is not carried over to the next month.

Among other important features - a single price for data transfer intranet roaming and per kilobyte rounding of the session, when a large number machine-generated micro-sessions is a significant plus. As in any other corporate tariff, Telematics provides a matrix of discounts depending on the volume of charges and the number of connected SIM-cards.

For private users, the tariff is not of particular interest, in basic version"Online" is more profitable (discount at night). And for large volumes of traffic it is more rational to use "Connect". A small user niche - those who stably consume relatively small volumes (less than 100 Mb) of traffic, in this case, Telematics with the connected package will allow you to save a little. Another potential consumer is a person who needs a guaranteed backup channel Internet access while traveling. 1.35 RUB / min for CSD access in intranet roaming is quite a humane price. Yes, in the 3G era, the speed is 9.6 Kbps. causes a healthy laugh, a megabyte of data will be transferred for about 15 minutes. But almost guaranteed access to the network, regardless of the presence / availability of GPRS. You can still recall the complaints about trojans that initiate expensive calls during the Internet session unnoticed by the user, such a trick will not work on a tariff with disabled voice communication.

A tariff plan called "Telematics" from MTS is available for use by corporate clients. The offer is not ordinary and does not resemble the standard rates that are used for communication. The package includes additional features and functions for customization for different clients. The tariff will be relevant when you need to get high-quality and reliable communication between different equipment.

Areas of use

The "Telematics" tariff is used in different areas and before connecting, you need to find out the main ones:

  1. Control of vehicles and other movable objects. It is possible to receive information about exact location finding, as well as the execution of a previously marked route using the control panel.
  2. Pipeline inspection - measurements in remote mode flow rate of liquids, temperature and other necessary parameters.
  3. You can transfer funds through payment systems to the processing center.
  4. Clients have the ability to transmit a signal and other information by pressing only one panic button, therefore, the tariff is often applied for security purposes.

The main feature of the offer is that the tariff does not include voice communication and cannot be connected to Telematics in any way.

Description

As it has already become clear, it will not work to make calls from the tariff plan, customers are given the opportunity to use only the Internet, messages, as well as the transfer of information through a dial-up channel. This can be called a “hybrid” offering because customers can use different options tariff and receive from 5 to 100 MB.

Any connected option works constantly and has no expiration date. With the coming of each new month, the offer will be renewed. Each version of the tariff plan has its own subscription fee and additional types services that you can use.

It should also be noted important feature- the only cost of data transmission in roaming within the country within the network is set.

Service for sharing internet service.

Price

Since the "Telematics" tariff has several options for connection, with different prices, then you need to deal with each sentence in more detail:

  1. The standard offer includes 5 MB of Internet, at a price of 7.5 rubles / month. Additionally, complex services are included: M2M manager, which will allow you to remotely control a SIM card with a tariff plan, at a price of 32.5 rubles, as well as Protected data transmission at a cost of 32.5 rubles. If the client wants to use two complex services at once, then the MTS company provides a small discount and for a couple of options you will need to pay 47.5 rubles.
  2. The second tariff option includes 20 MB of Internet. With this variation, the client will need to pay 25 rubles of the subscription fee. The included complex services will also be more expensive and will amount to 50 rubles separately, and if you use them in a complex, the cost will be 65 rubles.
  3. The next tariff includes 40 Mb of traffic with monthly fee 45 rubles / month Complex offers will cost 70 rubles separately or 85 rubles when used together.
  4. The fourth tariff option includes 60 MB of traffic with a subscription fee of 60 rubles / month. Complex services will be 85 rubles separately and 100 rubles, when connected together.
  5. The last option is the tariff with 100 MB, and its mandatory monthly fee will be 95 rubles. Complex services will cost 120 rubles or 135 rubles with simultaneous activation.

Additionally, it is necessary to note a single cost for any tariff for messages:

  1. Text messages within Russia on MTS will be 1 ruble.
  2. Text messages by country to numbers of different mobile operators Russia will be 1.8 rubles.
  3. After exceeding the traffic package, the cost of SMS in the country will be 1 ruble.

Connection

Only corporate clients can activate the tariff. To do this, you need to perform one of the convenient actions:

  1. Come to the MTS brand showroom and ask the employee to connect Telematics. After that, the employee will do everything very quickly and will not need to pay extra for his work. The client needs to have identity documents with him, as well as documents on entrepreneurial activity.
  2. The second connection method is through an online form. To do this, you need to follow the link https://anketa.ssl.mts.ru/corp/form/newclient/ and fill out an application, then click on the send button and wait for further instructions on the specified e-mail box.
  3. Users can call the operator of the support service on the phone number 88002507850, after which the employee will need to be told that it is necessary to activate Telematics. Further, the employee will be offered options for the design of such a SIM card.
  4. You can order a SIM card with an already active tariff through the online store from MTS. It is easy to find it on the Internet or you can follow the link https://b2b.mts.ru/catalog/tariffs. After that, find the offer you need and click on the "Add to cart" button. After that, going to the basket, the subscriber will need to fill in blank lines and click "Next" and follow the instructions.
  5. It is no less convenient when corporate services communication to use personal cabinet... It will significantly save time and manage your SIM card, as well as other features. In addition, customers will be able to connect or order a SIM card with the "Telematics" tariff through the cabinet.

MTS became the first telecommunications company in Russia to systematically promote a portfolio of M2M-based products at the federal level.

The first step in the development strategy of M2M services was the launch of a secure data transmission service, a telematic solution for monitoring vehicles "NIKA" and the launch in December 2009 of the "Telematics" tariff, created specifically for corporate clients and focused on transferring data between electronic devices. Next step- launch of an innovative product for the M2M market - reliable and durable heat-resistant SIM-cards in March 2010. Such SIM-cards became widespread in the world only in 2008-2009, and before that no operator had such offers on the Russian market. And in January 2011, MTS launched a new generation of SIM cards - in a microchip form factor for data transmission devices. MTS plans to further expand the functionality of M2M services, in particular, due to the new capabilities of M2M SIM-cards, new options for telematic tariffs, as well as to actively use Comstar's fixed communication lines in order to additional protection transmitted data. In September 2011, MTS launched the M2M Manager service, which allows you to configure and monitor the operation of various M2M equipment in the MTS network in real time from the screen of any computer.

The company plans to modernize services and introduce additional functions, including expanding the functionality of the M2M SIM-cards management system, optimizing MTS telematic tariffs.

World experience

М2М began to develop in the world a little earlier than similar services came to Russia. But even now the Russian dynamics is practically at the global level. Research agency Yankee Group believes that the global M2M market will show some of the highest growth rates in the services segment in the next decade. wireless... The Yankee Group predicts an increase in the number of M2M connections between devices worldwide to 217.5 million in 2015 from 81.8 million during 2011. Operators' revenues from the provision of M2M services over the same period will more than double: to $ 6.7 billion in 2015 from $ 3.1 billion in 2011.

Infonetics Research, in turn, estimated the number of m2m connections between devices in the world in 2010 at 87 million and expects such connections to grow to 428 million by 2014. The agency expects the CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of wireless m2m services worldwide to be 38% over this period.

Research and forecasts of the world M2M market indicate a steady growth of 25-45% per year. The average ARPU of a service (based on a sample of 15 large European companies) ranges from $ 2 to $ 15 (depending on the type of service).

М2М projects in the North-West region

Using the services of M2M MTS in Northwest region for 8 months of 2011 increased by 3 times. The most popular tariff is the MTS Telematics tariff, which is specially focused on data transmission using M2M technology in the field of monitoring transport and mobile objects, payment systems and security systems, at housing and communal services enterprises.

The maximum, two-fold growth in the use of M2M services occurred in the field of vehicle monitoring: transmission of information about the location and route, as well as fuel consumption to the vehicle monitoring center. The use of M2M services in security organizations (anti-theft systems), at housing and communal services enterprises (remote measurements of the flow of liquid, gas and other parameters) and in the field of work with payment terminals (transfer of data on transactions to the processing center from ATMs, POS - terminals, street terminals for payment for services).

The number of users of MTS thermo SIM-cards for 8 months of 2011 has doubled compared to 2010. SIM-cards "MTS thermo" are able to operate smoothly in the most difficult climatic and industrial conditions, from far north to the hot south, which is especially important for the northern regions of the Northwest.

“The sector of M2M services in the field of mobile communications is actively developing - today business and municipal enterprises are looking for new opportunities to optimize costs and save resources. In terms of using M2M solutions, the most promising industries today are utilities, transport, healthcare and security. Thanks to M2M services, MTS clients can significantly reduce their costs by reducing personnel and energy costs, reduce accidents due to online monitoring, and improve the quality of services provided, ”said Ivan Zolochevsky, Director of MTS in the North-West regions.
    • MTS provides M2M services to the largest companies in the region. MTS provides data transmission services to Rosokhrana Telecom LLC, a leading provider of services for organizing communication channels for private security in St. Petersburg. MTS provided the company Rosokhrana Telecom with 1,500 SIM-cards connected to a special tariff for the exchange of Telematics data, which are used in private security systems for transmission service information about the state of the protected object.
    • MTS provides monitoring of security systems of the company LLC "Caesar Satellite" - the largest company on the provision of satellite anti-theft systems that carry out security monitoring of the car using GPS navigation. In case of danger, information about the movement of objects connected to the system using the technology of data transfer between devices is promptly sent to a special Dispatch Center. Today, Caesar Satellite LLC uses about 27,000 MTS SIM-cards for automatic exchange data.
    • Security company An Security LLC uses more than 300 MTS SIM-cards in terminals installed in retail outlets: chain supermarkets and hypermarkets, car dealerships, network gas stations.

improvement of technologies in the field of M2M (thermo SIM-cards, development of solutions for embedded SIM-cards, etc.).

  • already implemented government programs on the modernization of economic sectors such as transport, energy, medicine.

Prospects for the use of M2M services by Russian companies

In Russia, the number of industries where it is advisable to use M2M technologies has grown significantly. This, in particular, is caused by the fact that the crisis forced many companies to look for ways to reduce costs and increase business efficiency through the introduction of innovative technologies.

The most promising segments in terms of the development of M2M services, in our opinion, are:

  • monitoring and control of transport. This segment accounts for about 40% of all clients of M2M services of MTS. Projects in this area have been implemented by MTS in Ryazan, Samara, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Bryansk, Zelenograd, Moscow, Kazan, Saratov;
  • remote measurements of sensor indicators. Here M2M services are used to control the operation of fuel and energy systems and systems for the extraction / processing / transportation of raw materials, for example, for remote monitoring pressure in pipelines. In the field of housing and communal services, telematic services are used to monitor energy supply systems, for example, to control pressure and temperatures in heating systems, can be used in water and electricity meters, to monitor the operation of elevators, and garbage collection services. This segment accounts for about 20% of MTS clients of M2M services;
  • security and anti-theft systems (about 10% of MTS clients of M2M services);
  • ATMs and automated payment systems (about 20% of clients of M2M services of MTS);
  • vending machines and automated points of sale (about 5% of clients of M2M services of MTS). Another 5% is accounted for by other telematic services.

MTS also classifies healthcare as promising industries for the development of M2M technologies (mobile cardiographs, monitoring of ambulances).

MTS presents a new corporate tariff "Telematics", specially designed for data transfer between devices using GPRS, SMS, MMS or CSD.

"Tariff" Telematics "is the first step of MTS in the strategy of development of services based on the interaction of various technical devices using communication technologies. The segment of such services is one of the fastest growing segments of the mobile communication services market, since the development of technologies and an increase in the coverage of mobile networks contributes to the rapid development of services that provide inexpensive and effective communication between devices anywhere, "said Mikhail Gerchuk, vice president of MTS for commercial issues.

This tariff is intended for data transmission within:

  • Monitoring of transport and moving objects - obtaining information about the location and route of travel (freight transport, urban public transport, courier delivery, taxi, etc.) to the control panel;
  • Monitoring of technological systems - remote measurements of liquid (gas) flow rate, temperature, and other parameters of the process medium.
  • Payment systems - transfer of transactions to the processing center from ATMs, POS-terminals, street payment terminals, etc .;
  • Security systems - transmission of a signal and additional data (for example, coordinates) by pressing the panic button, anti-theft systems, etc.

Advantages of the MTS Telematics tariff

  • MTS offers favorable price per 1 MB within the included packages GPRS Internet traffic- from 2.8 rubles per MB. The traffic round-off threshold provided by MTS - 1 KB - optimally corresponds to the typical small amount of data usually transmitted during one session.

Applications of M2M data transmission

  • Monitoring of transport and mobile objects - receiving information about the location and route of a / m (freight transport, courier delivery, taxi, etc.) to the control panel;
  • Monitoring of pipeline systems - remote measurements of liquid (gas) flow rate, temperature, and other parameters of the process medium.
  • Payment systems - transfer of transactions to the processing center from ATMs, POS terminals, street payment terminals, etc .;
    Security - transmission of a signal and additional data (for example, coordinates) by pressing the panic button, anti-theft systems, video surveillance, etc.

Prospects for the development of M2M services in the world and in Russia. MTS strategy

The spread of mobile communications in the world and in Russia contributes to the rapid development of M2M services, as it provides an inexpensive and effective method communication between devices in the coverage area cellular network... Today, almost any device with a microprocessor can be connected to the network using GSM module and exchange data with other devices or an information processing center via GPRS, SMS, CSD or MMS.

Assessing the global M2M market, experts cite the following figures: today there are about 100 million devices operating in the world that remotely transmit data to information processing centers. According to experts, the best way to transfer M2M data is via wireless networks. In addition to the obvious savings in cabling, wireless data transmission provides a significant reduction in the duration of sessions between devices: in a mobile network, the average duration of a data session today is about 5 seconds. against about 20 sec. for a public wired network. The projected growth of the M2M market in the world, according to the agencies of Future World Consultancy, RSA, Allied Business, Berg Insight, ABI Research, is 80-120% per year until 2012.

M2M services in Russia and the CIS countries are currently at the initial stage of development. For example, according to our estimates, the number of M2M modules in the MTS network in the most developed market in this respect - in Moscow today is less than one percent. subscriber base. At the same time, the Russian M2M market is growing rapidly, and MTS expects to become the leader in this promising market segment. Tariff "Telematics" is the first step of MTS in the strategy of development of M2M services. Over the next five years, according to our conservative estimates, the number of users of M2M services of MTS in Russia will exceed 3 million.

Basic parameters of the tariff "Telematics"

* AP is absent if the subscriber has not activated the GPRS Internet traffic package. In this case, GPRS Internet traffic is charged at basic rates.

** Upon activation of the GPRS Internet traffic package, AP is charged monthly for its renewal.

Package validity: unlimited, renewal on the 1st of every month. The subscription fee for the connected GPRS-Internet traffic package is debited on the 2nd day of each month in full. The monthly renewed connected package will be valid until it is changed or disconnected by the subscriber. The traffic included in the package can be spent during a calendar month, the unused remainder of the traffic is not carried over to the next month. If the paid traffic package ends before the end of the month or if the package is not connected, GPRS-Internet traffic is paid per megabyte at the base rate.

All packages are mutually exclusive, i.e. connecting a new package leads to disconnecting the previously connected one. When you change the package, a one-time write-off of the amount for connecting the package takes place in accordance with the tariff. When connected, the package is charged in full, the remainder of the previous package is added to the new package.

Offers of Russian mobile operators

Along with MTS, others Russian operators « big three»Offer special rates for M2M data transmission. For example, Beeline has the Monitoring tariff, Megafon has Office in your pocket and Managing remote objects.

Completed projects based on the M2M data transfer service in the MTS network

In partnership with MTS, numerous projects have been implemented based on the M2M data transfer service in the MTS network. Among such projects are the following:

Moscow Metro, Zelenogradskiy Avtokombinat - implemented projects for monitoring corporate vehicles based on mobile technologies MTS. Monitoring systems use GSM communication with mobile objects equipped with mobile terminals. On vehicles it is installed mobile terminal with a GPS receiver that allows you to determine the location of an object relative to several satellites on geostationary orbits and calculate its exact geographical coordinates(up to several meters). Across specified intervals In time, the mobile terminal of each car transmits information to the dispatch center via GPRS or MTS SMS-channel. For the functioning of these systems, MTS provides transport infrastructure, i.e. their communication networks. The applied technologies of MTS exclude unauthorized access to the transmitted data stream. Through the use of vehicle monitoring technologies, Zelenograd Avtokombinat, for example, managed to reduce non-production vehicle runs and consumption of fuel and lubricants by 5% and thereby reduce costs by 6.1 million rubles. in year.

MOEK project in the field of monitoring energy consumption in Moscow

In November 2009, MTS and the Moscow United Energy Company (MOEK) launched a project in the metropolitan area to ensure control of energy consumption as part of a joint project in the field of monitoring energy consumption in Moscow. This is the largest project in the capital in the field of monitoring energy consumption.

Transfer of data on energy consumption within automated system monitoring, as well as the security of data transmission is ensured by MTS. MTS SIM cards are installed in energy consumption meters, which provide continuous information transfer to the server of the MOEK Central Energy Metering System.

The transmission of information through MTS communication channels occurs almost instantly, therefore the calculation is carried out with the highest possible accuracy. A more accurate calculation of energy consumption online allows for optimal planning of energy supplies, and therefore - to improve energy savings, reduce losses and save fuel. For Moscow residents, this means an improvement in the environmental situation in the city and a decrease in energy costs.

According to experts, the introduction of an automated system for technical accounting of energy resources can reduce energy consumption by up to 10%.
