Kamikaze di latest releases. How video blogger Kamikadze_d avoids discussion

The owner of the “kamikadzedead” channel, Dmitry Ivanov, claims that the Russian division of YouTube deliberately blocks videos and closes channels that criticize the actions of the Russian government.

Famous YouTube blogger Kamikaze Dee, who has a channel with 1.1 million subscribers, made a video message in English to the founders of YouTube, detailing YouTube Russia's censorship.

According to the observations of Dmitry Ivanov (the real name of the author of the channel), the leadership of the Russian office of YouTube cooperates with Putin and there is no so-called freedom of speech in the post-Soviet space. His examples with the channels "Be or..." and "Ya.N." is direct proof of that. The channels talked about the problems in Russia: violations of the law by politicians and the crimes of officials, and they were closed for inciting hatred.

Kamikaze Dee noted that Kremlin videos that really incite hatred and violate YouTube rules are freely available. Moreover, they just keep in the TOP and trends of YouTube, and videos with millions of views that criticize the Kremlin do not get there. As an example, Dmitry added excerpts from the country's political TV shows to the video message, where they openly show hatred for the Russian opposition and ridicule the West.

Ivanov also announced obvious cheating, which is not stopped by the moderators of the Russian office of YouTube. “Kremlebots”, as the author calls them, deliberately increase the number of views, likes and dislikes in order to independently manage the rating of YouTube videos.

In addition, the video blogger turned to the leaders of the American office of YouTube with the problem of monetizing videos on political topics. He cited his own channel as an example - kamikadzedead. Videos with millions of views have so few ads that they earn only $3-$4 per month.

YouTube response to kamikadzedead

Ivanov did not respond to an appeal to the leadership of YouTube Russia, and the main office of the American YouTube wrote that he did not delve into or comment on the principles by which content on YouTube Russia is deleted and blocked. The subsidiary operates in accordance with the rules and conditions of video hosting. In a recent interview on the Current Time channel, Kamikaze Dee said that he was not going to stop and would write to well-known Western English-speaking YouTube bloggers who are involved in politics in order to expose and solve the censorship problem in YouTube Russia.

Now there is a strike on kamikadzedead, due to which the channel's videos will not be displayed in the search and recommended videos.

In the next article, I will write how other bloggers and YouTube users reacted to Ivanov's video message and give my explanation why YouTube has problems with statistics and monetization. Therefore, stay tuned for new articles in the “Useful materials” section and on our VK page.

The events of the past few days have again demonstrated a rather interesting and encouraging thing. The Internet is uncensored. Due to certain specifics, any information censored in cyberspace instantly becomes popular and even more accessible than before censorship. This week, a real war broke out on the Web between two video bloggers - the newly-minted Nikita Besogon (Nikita Mikhalkov in the world) and Kamikaze-Dee, widely known in narrow circles (real name is just Dmitry Ivanov). It all started with the fact that the eminent director, succumbing to the trend of fashion, created his own video channel on YouTube with the pretentious name "Besogon TV" in mid-March. I must say that already the first issue of Besogon gave many reasons to ridicule the master of Soviet cinema. The pretentious screen saver, golden figurines in the background and no less golden rings on the fingers, a characteristic manner of speaking and a characteristic mustache - all this turned out to be in place. People immediately began to joke in the comments and shoot parodies in haste. The video blogger with experience Kamikadze_d did not stand aside. At the beginning of the twenties, the video “Tired by Mikhalkov” appeared. The fate of this video was supposed to be standard for videos of this kind - to gain from 50 to 90 thousand views and be forgotten in a couple of days. But it was not there! The video dedicated to Mikhalkov was hastily removed by the YouTube administration without explanation. Further, events developed rapidly ... The next day, Dmitry Ivanov posted a video message about what happened. Soon, this seemingly purely informative video was deleted. Toward the end of the week, Dmitry made two more videos - a comic "Repentance to Mikhalkov" and a somewhat more serious "Farewell to Mikhalkov". In a matter of hours, tens of thousands of people watched them, but in the end they were also deleted. Then Kamikaze “uploaded” the deleted videos to his Vkontakte page, urging users to download them en masse and upload them to YouTube. And so far, hundreds of people have responded to this call! As they usually say about this on the Web, epic win. What is the moral of the story? If Mikhalkov's PR people (I doubt that Nikita Sergeevich personally dealt with this issue) simply closed their eyes to the existence of one video that ridiculed their ward, then this video would have remained the only video watched by a maximum of a hundred thousand people and very quickly forgotten . However, the crude and clumsy censorship applied to television has had the exact opposite effect on the Internet. Already four videos make fun of Nikita Besogon, and they have been replicated in hundreds of copies. The story, by the way, turned out to be so revealing that REN-TV mentioned it on Saturday in the program “A Week with Marianna Maksimovskaya”. So that.

The more speed the ship gains, the more small pirate boats are trying to flood it. So our modest and quiet editorial staff of PolitRussia hears the sound of clattering teeth of everyone who is still endowed with these teeth. The leadership, of course, is under attack: the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Ruslan Ostashko, has already received a “black mark” from Lesha Navalny, and from a certain Dmitry Ivanov too. But here most of the audience will be indignant: many people already know Lesha, but who is Ivanov?

Behind this uncomplicated combination of first and last name lies the famous video blogger kamikadze_d. And here a few words about the psychology of self-presentation.

Let's start with the fact that the nicknames we accept entail a lot of information. Having made two or three simple clicks in one of the Internet search engines, we find out that literally “kamikaze” is translated as “divine wind”. But there is no smell of romance and poetry here. According to Dmitry himself, the nickname was chosen at school for a computer game, when he “I ran with a grenade after others and laughed when it carried both the enemy and myself to the next world” .

Hmm, no divine wind blows, as you can see. And also intelligence at the level of Bill Gates. Apparently, there are some problems with self-identification if a young man, being an almost 29-year-old forehead, is still actively hiding behind a nickname from his school period. On the network, of course, it is customary to hide and give yourself fictitious names, but the hypothesis receives partial confirmation when watching a video from Dmitry's blog.

First, I am alarmed by the abrupt change in his political views. First, he proclaims himself a supporter of the liberal wing, then he denies this and becomes an alleged "outside observer" and critic. But, as they say, if you criticize, offer. However, such an expression is unknown to the angelic fair-haired Dima: he prefers to spit poison in front of the camera and sarcastically send everyone whose names pop up in his mind.

At first, you naively look forward to Dmitry criticizing and poking at least some supporting piece of paper at the screen, like Lesha. And it turns out that he sits in front of the camera and grimace. We searched and found the rating of his most popular videos. TOP-3 were crowned with the following names:

  1. How to properly crap Ksenia Sobchak (over 700,000 views)
  2. Tea and Hamburger Festival (over 160,000 views)
  3. Mr. Freeman, the end (over 120,000 views).

I won’t even leave comments, I’ll go to Leshkin’s mint cubes and look, they have at least an adult claim to politics, and not a youth race for likes. Now it's not so surprising that "similar queries" when searching for kamikadze_d are Justin Bieber and Roma Acorn.

Here we remembered the likes and immediately throw in the opus "about the meaning of the activity." Dmitry is not even shy, saying that views, likes and reposts are what he records his videos for and holds promotions. Frankl, the genius of dealing with the existential vacuum, is crying on the sidelines. It turns out that the youth is screaming and grimacing at the camera, scolding Russia, the Government, the President, the people, the police - everyone! – only for the sake of PR and popularity; no civic duty to you and so on.

Old-timers of the Internet still remember Dimka's total failures: a certain grandgreed wrote in one of the blogs on March 28, 2011 (punctuation preserved): “Not all the videos are there, he deleted some. I remember where he sat drunk in his car, and waved whiskey for 10 grand. The car in which he was driving strongly resembled a Metsubishi Lancer Evolution, a 3 liter sedan in a new body, the price for a new car is about 1,500,000 rubles. Another video was deleted where he was drinking in one of the rooms in his apartment, where the interior is estimated at about 500-600 thousand. Obviously, he realized that the property was being exposed and removed these videos.. What happens? Dmitry so actively focuses attention on the problems of corruption in modern Russia, and he probably bought a bottle of whiskey for change from school lunches?

So what does the young talent want? Maybe the development and prosperity of their country? Or fair elections? Or justice? Not so fast! The young man craves fame and public recognition, and therefore feeds his audience with everything that comes to hand.

But here again two facts confuse: Kamikaze is not at all open to dialogue. Well, I would have refused to go to our Discussion Club, which is quite obvious: I was afraid of being “thrown with slippers”, although, I can assure you, this would not have happened. But Ruslan Ostashko himself invited him, gave him time to discuss the sensational video about Russia and its problems, created by Dmitry himself and EzhoFF Bamd. Dmitry refused - we were indignant.

Of course, Dmitry's audience was indignant, as were our readers. It is understandable: you shot a video, went out with a slogan in the Internet, and you are afraid to discuss it. How so? Dmitry hurried to calm the crowd and recorded a low-grade video designed to humiliate us and our publication. But why in response to your viewers brazenly lie about the subject of conversation? When did you, Dima, offer to discuss the Vostochny cosmodrome or the irresponsibility of local officials? Manifestations of early alcoholic dementia due to the use of the same whiskey? Or, for a red word, did he add a couple of lines that do not exist in the correspondence? Oh yes, we forgot! Such personalities can rarely be taken at their word, they tend to exaggerate: and already a bream becomes a pike, and 12 centimeters - ... well, let's not.

However, nothing human is alien to Dima, and the blogger is afraid of the formidable Tesak (aka Max Martsinkevich) like fire. As soon as the latter hinted that he didn’t like some video, Dima turns from kamikaze into Alyonushka and trembles like an aspen leaf (Warning, the video contains profanity). Let me imagine: “If the editor-in-chief of PolitRussia (forgive me Ruslan Ostashko) was Max Martsinkevich, perhaps Mr. Kamikaze would not only not forgive the offensive videos about our editorial office and projects, but also provide the entire team with flowers and sweets.”

So all the same, what kind of phenomenon is this Kamikaze? And how to treat him? Someone will say that he does not need extra PR from the publication, and it is not of particular importance. However, parallels between him and Ukrainian media expert Anatoly Shariy repeatedly appeared on the network. . Indeed, most of Kamikaze's audience is Ukrainian, Sharia is Russian.

One thing remains unclear: either the men themselves deliberately chose such a niche, or whether this is someone's very competent move. The main thing is that the guys do an excellent job with their task: you give a provocation in full! Kamikaze, however, still has to learn and learn: its numerous viewers pay attention to gaps in the knowledge of the country's history and sometimes inappropriate behavior.

So listen, dear Dmitry! Otherwise, it turns out, as in the famous meme: in words you are Leo Tolstoy, but in deeds - ...
