What will be the next iPhone after x. Apple announced the prices of new iPhones and the date of their release in Russia

When will the new iPhone come out? What are its characteristics. When will the price of the iPhone XS or XR drop? Is it worth buying a new iPhone now or is it better to wait a bit. In this article, we will answer all your questions.

IPhone 11 at a glance

  • iPhone 11 will be released and released in September 2019.
  • It will be the first phone to run Apple's latest iOS iOS 13 software.
  • It will most likely have a triple camera setup (similar to the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30).
  • The iPhone 11 is expected to be powered by Apple's new A13 chipset.
  • It probably won't be 5G capable.
  • The iPhone 11 may have the largest battery ever included in an iPhone.

IPhone 11 Release Date - When Will the Next iPhone Come Out?

On September 12, 2018, Apple introduced not one, but three new iPhones: iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, which can now be purchased from Apple. They came out a year after the launch of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X.

With the launch of new phones, there has been a drop in prices for older models (iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus), and the iPhone X is now completely discontinued, just like the iPhone SE.

Release dates for the last few iPhone models:

  • iPhone 5 - September 2012
  • iPhone 5S - September 2013
  • iPhone 6 - September 2014
  • iPhone 6S - September 2015
  • iPhone SE - March 2016
  • iPhone 7 - September 2016
  • iPhone X / iPhone 8 - September 2017
  • iPhone XS - September 2018

How often are iPhone updates?

Apple usually waits one year before introducing a new iPhone model. It has become a tradition for Apple to hold an event in September, which showcases new models of phones, and in a couple of weeks they go on sale.

When will the new iPhone be released in 2019 in Russia

The presentation of the iPhone 11 will take place no later than September 12, because the traditional fall event from Apple takes place around this date. The novelty will go on sale not earlier than the end of September - beginning of October. Russia is likely to miss the “first wave” of sales again.

IPhone 11 Price - How Much Will the New iPhone Cost?

The iPhone XS was priced at £ 999 / £ 999 last year, just like the iPhone X that came before it. It would seem worthwhile to assume that the iPhone 11 will cost the same.

Apple will offer the iPhone 11 under undisclosed contracts for 399 (128GB), 499 (256GB), and 599 (512GB) starting September 20, 2019. Pricing without a SIM card has been announced for $ 999 (128GB), $ 1099 (256GB), and $ 1199 (512GB).

The 128GB iPhone 11 Max will retail for $ 1,099, while the 256GB and 512GB models retail for $ 1199 and $ 1299.

iPhone 11 - Design and Display

It looks like the bump on the iPhone 11 will be noticeably larger than the small bumps you'll find on rival Android phones like the Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro.

In terms of the screen technology itself, there is no reason to believe that Apple will deviate from the 5.8- and 6.5-inch screens currently used by the XS and XS Max. We're also unlikely to see the 11-series transition from OLED technology back to LCD.

iPhone 11 - camera

I managed to mine a schematic of a triple camera system on the back of the next Apple phone. This design has already proven controversial due to its boxy, asymmetrical nature.

One of the three lenses will be wide angle. Interestingly, this sensor will allow users to "fix" images after shooting by adding objects that were just out of frame in the first shot.

It would make sense for the new iPhone to have three cameras. Over the past few years, multi-touch cameras have been the mainstream on Android flagships, and the systems on the Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro are some of the best, definitely a step up from the iPhone XS and XS Max cameras.

Apparently, the next iPhone may have a 12MP TrueDepth selfie camera capable of recording in slow motion.

iPhone 11 - performance and software

The iPhone 11 will most likely be powered by the A13 processor. When it comes to software, this is the most specific aspect of iPhone 11 functionality that we know about right now.

  • Smart Dark Mode includes light and dark versions of the same wallpaper, with the ability to seamlessly transition between them on command or when linked to sunrise and sunset times.
  • The entire user interface also becomes darker when the mode is activated.
  • Even before you add the upcoming A13 chipset, Apple has promised significant performance improvements thanks to the latest version of iOS.
  • Face unlocking will be 30% faster, while baselines like app updates will be reduced by 60%.
  • The introduction of Sign In with Apple will also help simplify sign-ups for a variety of third-party and independent services through Face ID integration and anonymous credential features.
  • Along with the addition of some new Aniomji characters, Memoji will receive a host of new customizations such as piercings, additional makeup options, hats, and alternate teeth.
  • There will be native support for both PlayStation DualShock 4 and Bluetooth-enabled Xbox controllers.

iPhone 11 - Battery Life, USB-C and 5G

The increase in power is planned closer to 5% 3110mAh. This extended power bank will apparently provide two-way Qi wireless charging, so you'll be able to power the new AirPods 2 from the back of your phone.

Last year, Apple switched from Lightning to a full USB-C solution for the iPad Pro, and also standardized on all of its modern MacBooks, Apple won't switch to USB-C in 2019, so save some spare Lightning cables for a while.

The iPhone 11 won't be ready to join a 5G connection. Apple waits until standards for mobile network connectivity are established and aimed at ubiquity before adopting them, as is the case with 3G and 4G.

But the iPhone can benefit from the latest Wi-Fi 802.11 ax, better known as Wi-Fi 6, which quadruples performance in crowded areas and 40% faster data transfer speeds.

When is the best time to buy an iPhone?

The best time to buy an iPhone isn't when a new model comes out - unless you're desperate for the latest hardware. You may be willing to wait a month or two after launch until supplies keep up with demand and any issues with the new phones are identified and fixed.

The good news is that a new iPhone is worth buying within nine months of its launch, but in July / August we'd recommend postponing the purchase until fall - unless your current iPhone is broken and lasts for three to four months.

The worst time to buy a new iPhone is in the months leading up to September. So don't buy an iPhone in August unless you want to bitterly regret a bad purchase a month later.

What if I want to buy an old iPhone?

You may think you just want a new phone and don't worry too much about the latest iPhone, why not buy a new iPhone now?

But usually, after the release of a new model, prices for the current generation of iPhones fall. And if you don't need upgrades too much, you can get an even older iPhone, which Apple no longer makes, as mobile phone companies dump those models to sell off the stock.

For example, the iPhone X was discontinued and its price dropped. Take a look at the very best prices for the iPhone X. Alternatively, you can take a closer look at the offerings of the iPhonei 7, iPhonei 7, Phone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus.

Wait for Black Friday in November

Another tip: buy a new iPhone from Apple's Black Friday sale at the end of November. Apple itself does not offer discounts, but will offer an additional gift card. Other retailers will offer discounts on iPhone and iPhone contracts.

Is now a good time to buy a new iPhone?

Now is not the right time to buy a new iPhone. If you are not too keen on the pursuit of the championship, we would not advise buying a new model within a month after launch. Better to postpone the purchase until October / November to see if there are better deals and to make sure there are no problems with the new model.

Launched in the fall of 2019, the iPhone 11 is sure to be a hit. Fans have forgiven Apple even the "outdated" design, because the smartphone is considered the last in a three-year cycle of updating the appearance of the company's models. This led to interest in the iPhone 12 - the company's future flagship, which will appear in 2020. It should be noticeably different from its predecessor, laying the foundation for the new design of the iconic product.

It turns out that quite a lot is already known about what this smartphone will be like. You can confidently ponder a new design, another camera, display refresh, number of models and many other innovations. In the meantime, there is still time before the release of the iPhone 12, let's try to put together all the information about the new flagship Apple. Perhaps it's time to start saving money for it, and you will also learn how much from this article.

How many new iPhones there will be in 2020

It seems that Apple will change itself and in 2020 will present immediately five new smartphones This is exactly what the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo thinks. With regard to Apple devices, he has already given several dozen correct predictions. The analyst assumes that the iPhone SE 2 will be released in the spring of 2020, and in the fall the company will introduce four more models:

  • 5.4-inch iPhone 12 with OLED screen and 5G support;
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 with OLED screen and 5G support;
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro with OLED screen, 5G support and 3D camera;
  • 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max with OLED screen, 5G support and 3D camera.

What will be the name of the new iPhone in 2020

After the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5s was expected, followed by the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. No surprises were planned - complete predetermination. But with the release of the iPhone X, the company has changed its traditional approach to product naming. The names began to turn out to be very cumbersome, for example, the latest smartphone from the company was named iPhone 11 Pro Max. In 2015, no one would have believed this!

But Apple doesn't seem to be going to change anything. There is no evidence yet that the naming approach will change. You can only try to predict the name of the 2020 model based on the name of previous devices. Taking into account the analogies of 2019, we can expect the release of models named iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The names, although cumbersome, are already familiar.

According to analysts, the initial and cheapest model of the iPhone 12 will receive a 5.4-inch screen. It should be noted here that Apple will release a smartphone with a reduced screen for the first time (iPhone 11 Pro has a 5.8-inch screen). Previously, the diagonal of smartphones has always only increased. The second version of the "budget" iPhone 12 will receive a 6.1-inch display.

In turn, the iPhone 12 Pro will receive a 5.4-inch display, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch display.

IPhone 12 design

The main expectations of users relate specifically to the design of devices. There is little doubt that Apple will significantly change the look and feel of the new 2020 smartphones. The previous iteration has been going on for 3 years and has obviously exhausted itself.

The main changes will affect the shape of the case. The connecting frame will no longer be rounded, but with right angles. Such a design decision, according to Min-Chi Kuo, will make the new smartphones look like the already legendary iPhone 4. The rectangular side edges of the iPhone 12 will resemble those of the latest generation iPad Pro tablets. It is worth noting that after the appearance of the iPad Pro in 2018 with a new design, many speculated about the appearance of similar faces in the iPhone. This information is confirmed by other sources as well.

New materials will also be used to create the case. 2020 iPhones will get a metal frame with a complicated design. This will require the use of a new casting technology. The frame will unite one-piece protected glass covering the front and back surfaces of the case.

Analysts suggest that the use of unique production technologies will make the product even more expensive. Ming-Chi Kuo emphasizes that the iPhone 4-style rectangular bezels and new materials will "significantly" change the look of the product. This statement looks quite loud, which is very rare for an insider. Obviously, the iPhone redesign will prove to be really powerful.

The front surface of the iPhone 12 will also be refreshed. Another insider, Ben Geskin, claims the long-awaited disposal of the Apple smartphone from the "monobrow" or its reduction. Thus, the frame around the perimeter of the screen will be of the same thickness. Geskin even tried to visually represent the iPhone 12 prototype.

Of course, the concept is not based on actual blueprints or an approved model, but only leaks. Significant changes will also affect the appearance of the entire body. Thanks to the design changes, the iPhone 12 will be able to achieve incredible popularity among users.

IPhone 12 display

All new smartphones of the new generation will receive an OLED display. Apple will finally give up LCD screens. This information was also confirmed by leading analysts by potential suppliers. Apple has already agreed with LG and BOE to supply OLED screens for its upcoming smartphones. New suppliers were needed because the former, Samsung, is not capable of meeting Apple's needs for this type of display alone.

As we said above, the new models will receive screens with a diagonal of 5.4-, 6.1- and 6.7 inches. So far, nothing is known about the characteristics of the displays: resolution and pixel density, brightness, dynamic range.

But already now an interesting fact is associated with one of the future models. For the first time in Apple history, there will be a new smartphone with a reduced screen diagonal! We are talking about the 5.4-inch iPhone 12. Such a move will prove that Apple has taken into account the wishes of its users. Many have long been asking to release a compact smartphone, but meanwhile the size of the diagonals is only growing from year to year. And in 2020 it will reach, most likely, a record 6.7 inches. Against this background, the 5.4-inch iPhone will look really compact. And in reality it will turn out to be really small.

One of the publications even carried out calculations of the likely size of the iPhone 12 with a 5.4-inch screen. This smartphone may have dimensions of 134 mm × 66.4 mm. You can compare this to the dimensions of the 4-inch iPhone SE at 123.8 x 58.6 mm and see a small difference. You don't have to peer at the screen. The compact body will house a fairly large 5.4-inch screen with minimal bezels. The screen of such a smartphone will be quite enough for the consumption of any kind of content.

The Ice Universe insider shared some interesting information. According to his sources, the displays of the new iPhone 12 will operate at a refresh rate of 120Hz. At the same time, users will also have the opportunity to independently choose the option they need. During normal use, you can set it to 60 Hz and save your battery, but for games you can set it to 120 Hz.

Processor and RAM iPhone 12

The Apple A14 processor platform is designed to deliver record-breaking performance for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. There is no information about this new chip yet. Some first details could appear in the fall of 2019 with the release of the new iPad Pro with the A13X Bionic processor. Based on its performance, it would be possible to predict the capabilities of the A14 chip. But Apple is in no hurry to introduce new iPad Pros.

It is obvious that the iPhone 12 will receive an increased amount of RAM. All 2019 models have 4GB of RAM at their disposal, but that's the same as the iPhone XS / XS Max. Most likely, the 2020 models will receive 6 GB of RAM, which is almost inevitable for flagship models. And the amount of built-in memory should also grow. Once again, the iPhone 11 Pro has retained its capacity relative to its predecessor, the iPhone XS.

Apple simply cannot fail to follow trends and lag behind the competition. The younger model is expected to have 128 GB of internal memory. The mid-range model will receive 512 GB, and the top-end one will receive 1 TB, just like Samsung's current flagships. But so far this information does not even come from insiders, but just assumptions. It is not a fact that Apple will consider it reasonable to participate in the gigabyte race - it is not in vain that the company develops and actively implements cloud technologies.

IPhone 12 cameras

Most likely, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will receive a four-camera system:

  • Wide-angle 12MP;
  • 12-megapixel telephoto camera;
  • 12 megapixel ultra wide angle;
  • Time of Flight 3D cameras.

Noteworthy is the new Time of Flight 3D camera. Perhaps it will become the main technological innovation of the iPhone 12 Pro. The main feature of such a camera is the ability to determine the distance to objects with the highest accuracy by using a low-power infrared, not even a laser, but its entire grid. The camera sensor will be able to measure the flight time of the beam, which gave the technology its name. The Time of Flight camera is also called a time-of-flight camera. In fact, the smartphone will receive an additional image, in which each pixel is responsible for depth, not color.

The presence of a 3D camera will open up a whole range of new possibilities for smartphones. First of all, they will noticeably improve the quality of their pictures, especially taken in portrait mode. The improved depth perception of the camera allows you to create a depth-of-field photo with a clear separation of the subject from the background.

The Time of Flight camera brings new augmented reality experiences to iPhone 12 Pro. Users will be able to scan real objects and living beings, and then transfer them to applications with augmented reality. Rumor has it that Apple will combine these capabilities with the release of its new "smart" glasses, which may appear just in 2020.

IPhone 12 Battery

Apple traditionally does not disclose the battery capacity of its devices, focusing only on battery life. It's anyone's guess what kind of batteries will end up in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. Users are hoping for more battery capacity, as happened with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, and allowed them to increase battery life by 4 and 5 hours, respectively. But such a jump in autonomy is no longer worth waiting for. The fact is that the new iPhones are likely to be able to work in the fifth generation networks. This will clearly not for the better affect the battery life of the iPhone 12.

IPhone 12 connectivity

The new iPhone 12 will be the first Apple smartphones to support 5G. It is no coincidence that for the sake of this event, the company even ended a long legal battle with the manufacturer of 5G modems Qualcomm. For the sake of joint cooperation, the legal war, which lasted for several years, was ended. The companies have already agreed to supply 5G modems for future iPhones. This is confirmed by the documents on the termination of the litigation. So we can safely say that the iPhone 12 will support 5G networks.

In addition, in the summer of 2019, Apple bought out Intel's modem division. It is clear that Cupertino is looking into the future and does not want to depend on external vendors to support 5G networks. But its own modem will not be ready until 2022. Apple does not want to stay away from the revolutionary solution, especially since some Android models received support for 5G networks back in 2019.

Unfortunately, domestic operators have not yet launched a single commercial public network of the fifth generation. The introduction of 5G networks in Russia is scheduled for 2021.

In-screen Face ID sensor

Back in early 2019, they began to talk about Apple's intention to place a fingerprint scanner on the screens of its smartphones. The company plans to use it not to replace Face ID technology, but to supplement it, giving users an alternative.

But the scanner did not appear in the iPhone 11, but the first information about Apple's discussion with touchscreen manufacturers about the possibility of installing an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner from Qualcomm has already appeared. As a result of Apple's collaboration with screen maker GIS, the fingerprint should appear in at least one iPhone 12. Qualcomm is already supplying such sensors for Samsung smartphones, but an improved version of the technology may appear in the iPhone. True, the final introduction of the ultrasonic sensor could be postponed to 2021. It is no coincidence that Apple plans to switch to OLED displays, because only they work with sensors of this kind. The December 2019 presentation of Qualcomm's 30mm by 20mm touchscreen, 17 times the size of Samsung's flagships, gives hope for the iPhone's full-screen fingerprint capability.

Lightning or USB-C?

According to data provided by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will only ditch the Lightning connector on the iPhone in 2021. In other words, the iPhone 12 will still be equipped with the familiar Lightning connector.

AirPods included with iPhone 12

According to the latest data from insiders, Apple plans to invest wireless AirPods in the 2020 iPhone lineup. True, the high cost of headphones and their independent success in the market may prevent such plans. But such a move will clearly shake up the market, and this could be a worthy response from Samsung and Xiaomi, which are planning to equip their new flagships with wireless headsets.

Not so long ago, Apple patented its logo glow using LED. It is likely that this solution may appear in the iPhone 12 and be a response to claims about the lack of a notification indicator for calls and messages. The patent even indicates a possible customization of the type of glow by using multiple layers of backlight to adjust the color and light level. Previously, the glowing apple was present in the Macbook, becoming its generally recognized "chip". Now it may appear in the iPhone 12, becoming both a decoration and a functional indicator.

Fast Wireless Charging in iPhone 12

Wireless charging appeared in the iPhone 8, but since then the company has clearly lost momentum in this direction, losing the lead to competitors. You can remember at least the story with the announced, but never released AirPower station. The iPhone 12 is expected to feature a new generation of Qi, with increased power, and support for reverse charging. This will allow smartphones to recharge not only their fellows, but also AirPods with Apple Watch.

Price of iPhone 12 and iPhone Pro in Russia

Apple fans are interested in the price of the new iPhones almost more than the capabilities of smartphones. It can be argued that the iPhone 12 will cost slightly more than its predecessors. There are several logical explanations for this. iPhone 12 is the first model of a new cycle of Apple smartphones. It will stand out for its design, and the use of new technologies will clearly affect the cost. And the prices for the iPhone in 2019 remained unchanged, which surprised the experts. The marketing strategy is likely to include price hikes for 2020, when interest in the next-generation iPhones is likely to surge. Based on this, we can assume that the prices of new models will increase by at least $ 50.

And here are the estimated prices of the iPhone 12 in Russia, based on previous experience, forecasts and leaks:

  • iPhone 12 - from 63,990 rubles.
  • iPhone 12 Pro - from 93,990 rubles.
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max - from 103,990 rubles.

Updated pricing information for the iPhone 12 will appear only closer to September 2020.

Release date of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro in Russia

The presentation and release of new iPhones will follow the usual scenario for Apple. Apple will unveil the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro in the first half of September 2020, with sales starting in the second half of the month. All four smartphone models will hit the shelves at the same time, as happened in 2019 with the iPhone 11 line.

In 2019, Russia has already entered the list of countries of the "first wave", having received the opportunity to purchase new iPhones on the first day of sales. Hardly anything will change in 2020 - the new iPhone 12 will go on sale in the second half of September.

Having unveiled three new iPhone models earlier today - the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR - Apple concluded the presentation by announcing their prices for the US market. In addition, company representatives said which of the previous models remain on sale and how much they will fall in price.

In the US, pre-orders for the 5.8-inch iPhone XS and 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max, powered by the advanced 7nm A12 Bionic processor, dual SIM support and an improved camera, will open this Friday, September 14th.

Smartphones will be available in 64, 256 or 512 gigabytes of memory. iPhone XS with a storage capacity of 64 GB was priced at $ 999, iPhone XS Max - at $ 1099. They will begin to be delivered to customers a week later, on the 21st.

In the countries of the "second wave", including Russia, new items will appear on 28 September. iPhone XS in a configuration with 64 GB of memory will be sold for 87,990 rubles, with 256 GB - for 100,990 rubles, with 512 GB - for 118,990 rubles. For the iPhone XS Max with a 64 GB storage option, they will ask for 96,990 rubles, for 256 GB - 109,990 rubles, for 512 GB - 127,990 rubles.

The "simplified" model with a 6.1-inch LCD screen and a single camera iPhone XR will be released October 26 (pre-orders - October 19). Price in the USA - from $ 749, in Russia - 64,990 rubles for the version with 64 GB, 68,990 rubles for 128 GB and 77,990 rubles for 256 GB.

"IPhones" of previous generations will fall in price. The cost of the iPhone 7 will start at $ 449, the iPhone 8 - from $ 599.

Smart watch Apple Watch Series 4 with an enlarged screen and an ECG sensor will be released in Russia on September 28.

The starting price is 31,990 rubles for a 40mm model with GPS. For the version with a body height of 44 mm, they will ask for 33,990 rubles.

Following the launch of the iPhone 10 (X) and iPhone 8, Apple has begun to actively prepare for a new flagship smartphone in 2018. Logically, it should be a mobile device called iPhone 9 or iPhone 11 (iPhone XI). It is quite possible that two models with different technical characteristics will be released at once. Let's take a look at what is already known about the new products.

iPhone 9, X Plus and XI: specifications

The new 2018 iPhone, according to insiders, will feature a slightly larger body and screen than the current year's version. This will apply to both the iPhone 11 and its larger version, the iPhone 11 Plus.

So far, "people close to the emperor" report the following expected parameters in the iPhone 11:

  • 5.85-inch P-OLED screen with a resolution of 1125 x 2436 dots. This is evidenced by the leaked information about the signing of an agreement between Apple and Samsung for the supply of such displays for the next year in the sizes of 5.85 and 6.45 inches (diagonal).
  • Apple A12 microprocessor.
  • The system memory size is 4 GB and 6 GB.
  • The size of the permanent memory is from 64 GB to 256 GB.
  • The rear camera will receive 2 sensors of 16 MP each.
  • Front camera - 7MP sensor.
  • 2-band Wi-Fi 2.4 / 5 GHz.
  • Bluetooth 5.1.
  • Satellite navigation module using GPS and GLONASS.
  • Apple Lightning wired interface.
  • IOS 12.
  • Battery 2600 mAh.

For authentication, Face ID and Touch ID scanners will be used, and the option with the ability to read a fingerprint directly after the finger is applied to the display is likely. This will allow you to open only certain applications on click, and also configure access for multiple users. The body will be metal and glass,.

In addition, support for the next generation of 5G cellular communications is likely. This is evidenced by the ongoing work at Apple on testing this generation based on the 28/39 GHz bands adopted for it.

As for the battery, then, according to reported by The Korea Economic Daily, LG Chem is ready to supply Apple in 2018 with the required number of original L-format batteries, which will save space and reduce the size of the iPhone 9 smartphone case. Such batteries are likely to appear in the iPhone 11 as well.

iPhone 9, X Plus and XI: Price and Release Date

The iPhone 9 and / or 11 will be presented to the world in September or October 2018. The announcement of the iPhone X Plus is also likely. The cost will not differ from the price of the existing flagships at the time of their announcement. The price of a smartphone in Russia is likely to be overstated, as in many other countries of the world, because Apple, first of all, offers it for the domestic American market.

2018 iPhone

The 2018 lineup might look like this:

  • IPhone XI.
  • IPhone X with 5.85-inch display.
  • The iPhone X Plus has a massive 6.46-inch display.
  • The iPhone 9 is an entry-level LCD with a display of about 6 inches.

Of course, it's too early to talk about iPhone development in 2018. We know so much about next year's lineup because how notes The Korea Herald, work on the 2018 lineup began "earlier than usual."

iPhone 9, X Plus and XI: news

Below in this material, we will publish news from Apple on the topic of iPhones in 2018. In the meantime, you can read information and additions about another future flagship -.

iPhone XI - photo (added 01/21/2018)

Idrop News has published unofficial photos of the future flagship iPhone XI. The images show that the developer is trying to completely get rid of the frames around the display, and in one version of the smartphone uses a tray for two SIM cards, which is a revolutionary solution for Apple. The face control sensor will be integrated into the front camera.

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company will launch three smartphones with 5.8, 6.1 and 6.5-inch displays in 2018. All of them will also have different characteristics and costs. In addition, a new processor, communication module and an L-shaped battery from LG are expected. According to this analyst, there will be no iPhone 9 or iPhone "11" necessarily. Instead, there will be iPhone, iPhone X (2018) and iPhone X Plus.

The photos below show what they can be.

The new video highlights the top-end 6.5-inch version of the new iPhone, which, however, largely resembles the current generation of the iPhone X. This render is reportedly based on factory CAD drawings, which means it should be 99 percent accurate. According to the leak, the largest iPhone of 2018 (iPhone X Plus?) Will measure 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm.

According to Geekbench, the upcoming iPhone will receive the latest iOS 12 and the D321AP processor, which appears to be an upgrade to the iPhone X's Apple A11 Bionic chip with model number D22AP. In addition, the new iPhone will receive 4 GB of RAM, while the iPhone X had 3 GB. The smartphone scored 4673 points in the single-core test and 10912 in the multi-core test. For comparison, the iPhone X scored around 4,200 and 10,000 in these tests, respectively.

IPhone 2018 Photo

iPhone X Plus with a dual camera, 6.5 "screen. The smaller one with a single camera is" just "an iPhone with a 6.1" display. The third has not yet been released.

I decided not to rush to review the iPhone 11 in order to put together the most complete picture of smartphone usability. Two weeks is quite a normal period to understand about all the advantages and disadvantages of the device.

There are not so many impressions as that of. Practical changes and innovations turned out to be not enough, although no one expected them, since this is a minor update of devices.

After going through with this iPhone for a couple of weeks, I absolutely knew that he would use colossal popularity... Such as .

Design you are not ashamed of

I think you all remember how, after the first, everyone complained about the terrible design of the camera. No less than the iPhone 11 Pro.

If in the "proshka" this was explained by the presence of three lenses, then in the "eleventh" there were 2 of them. Only the telephoto lens was replaced with a shirik one. And you know, I like the way it looks in real life.

Apple did the right thing by not painting it black. Now the cameras are not very striking, and the substrate for them is generally transparent, it is almost invisible. Due to what the unit fits harmoniously into the body of the device.

And how I love the centered Apple logo. It seems as if it has always been this way, and he is in his place. At the same time, we got rid of all unnecessary inscriptions.

Yes, in Russia and other European countries there are trash can markings (correct disposal) and CE (certification). But they are almost invisible. To make out the presence of these symbols, you need to carefully look in bright light. Respect that they as hidden as possible.

There is no matte coating here, the glass remains glossy. It collects absolutely all prints, even if you lightly touch the back panel. I did not notice the difference with the previous generation.

Night photo. Doesn't work everywhere

This is probably one of the strengths of the iPhone 11. It is awesome at capturing shots in low light: a lot of small details appear, the picture becomes brighter and richer. Even in the dimmest of light, you will see what is in front of you.

But here we are talking only about the main camera of the device. The super wide angle does not know how to get into the dark, in general.

No more 3D Touch, come to terms

This is the weakest point in the new iPhone for all hard hitting fans. If you didn't have an iPhone XR and loved 3D Touch - pain provided... You get used to good things quickly, but wean them for a long time.

During these 2 weeks, I have not yet been able to fully switch to the new system of long presses. And that’s all. If with 3D Touch everything was done in a split second, now the response time has increased.

I'm typing the text, correcting instant mistakes in words by moving the slider. Previously, it was enough to press harder at any point on the keyboard, but now you need to tap and hold down the space bar, which works every other time.

Or another example. With 3D Touch, it was possible to instantly hide the incoming notification: clicked on it harder and immediately swipe down. Now you need hold a second finger on this message and only then swipe.

Nikita was right about editing the desktop. If earlier we imagined 2 separate actions for the context menu and deletion, now, for only one deletion, you need to hold down and then tap on Change the order of apps, or drag the icon to the side. More time is wasted, and this is not very pleasant.

Face ID now works at a larger angle

Personally, I did not notice a noticeable increase in the speed of Face ID. The iPhone Xs Max with iOS 13 ran as fast as the iPhone 11 with iOS 13.1.1. Brought to face, instant, smart unlocked. Great? Undoubtedly yes. But it already happened, it was just solved by the firmware.

But what iOS 13 failed to achieve was the increased viewing angle. They became in the iPhone 11 more, though not much. You no longer need to reach out to face the iPhone display to unlock it.

According to my personal observations, the new iPhone easily reads my face from an arm's length at an angle of about 30 degrees. This is a nice bonus.

The only thing that didn't work was still no unlocking in horizontal position.

A trivial example: you are sitting, watching a video on YouTube, wanted to turn up the volume and accidentally pressed the lock button. Additional action is required. Take the iPhone in your hand, turn it and only then continue browsing.

Surround sound. Meet Dolby Atmos

The sound in iPhone 11 is amazing. This is probably the best I've heard on smartphones in general.

There are two speakers left: the lower and upper speaker, which has become stereo since the days of the iPhone 7. Both began to give out more detail, a hint of bass appeared, and the volume increased by one and a half times. Feels like the iPhone is now the same loud like some small portable speaker.

Now imagine that there are several such columns around you. They all move individual sounds around the head. It works Dolby Atmos on iPhone 11... It is not noticeable in music in Apple Music, but it is well discernible in iTunes movies. I checked on Mission: Impossible: Consequences.

Please note that not all movies support Dolby Atmos. Look for the matching caption under the tuna movie poster.

Who to take and who to wait

I will definitely say that there is no need to buy the iPhone 11 for the owners of the flagships of the previous generation.

If your iPhone 8 Plus or lower is stale, now is the time to upgrade. The cameras have pumped a lot, the hardware has become noticeably more powerful, the sound is more voluminous, and that's all. You will notice an increase in everything.

In detail, if you have ...

▪️ iPhone 7... A couple more years, and your smartphone will no longer be supported by Apple. Already you need to think about buying a new iPhone 11.

▪️ iPhone 8... Basically, you have a fairly self-sufficient smart that will last for a long time. But the battery is probably worn out, and the design is outdated. The difference is felt: the display is larger, the processor is more powerful, the cameras are better, the sound is more voluminous.

▪️ iPhone X... If off, wait for next year. You have a fairly modern smartphone, which, perhaps, has a weak battery. For many, returning to LCD may seem like a downgrade.
