What interesting features does the iPhone 6 have. Stop music or video by timer

Next month will introduce the new operating system 9, the major release since the launch of the App Store, which will unlock new features and give developers the tools to build new apps. You should not expect cardinal changes in the design of the mobile platform: the appearance of iOS has changed radically in the seventh edition.

With each release, innovations appear that compensate for some of the functional inconveniences of the previous system. On the eve of the release of the "nine" MacDigger publishes a selection of hidden features of the mobile platform, which not all users know about and. The article will be of interest to both beginners who are just getting acquainted with the operating system, and advanced users of iGadgets.

1. Custom vibrating alerts

Some features of iOS are so unique that they amaze the imagination. One of these features relates to calls on smartphones, vibrating alerts in particular. The system allows you to create custom vibration patterns for incoming calls. To configure this function, you need to go to Settings –> Sounds –> Ringtones –> Vibrations –> Create vibration.

2. Voiceover of any texts

It is worth recognizing that thanks to books in audio format, reading literature has become much more convenient and easier. In fact, not so much reading as listening. The operating system, using standard tools, allows you to turn any text information on the screen into an audiobook, as a result of which you can listen to the text with a simple “swipe”, for example, on the way to work, in a car, subway or plane. More about it here.

3. Disable tracking of frequently visited places

iOS collects information about where the owner of the iPhone is and happens most often. But, if earlier this data was not available to the users of smartphones and tablets themselves, then in the latest versions this is no longer the case. The gadget keeps a history of movements and shows geographical coordinates and time during which a person was in a given place. For example, 45 times he visited work from February 1, 2015 or on May 8 he was in the Park of the Central Park from 20:15 to 22:54. You can find this information in the "Privacy" -\u003e "Location Services" menu. How to disable the feature, MacDigger wrote here.

4. Magnet and hidden iPhone features

Last year, the developer discovered hidden features in Apple smartphones. Using a magnetic bar, he learned to control a small object on the screen of a smartphone, which completely repeated the movements of a magnet located 20 centimeters away from it. The experiment proved that the Apple phone is sensitive to the movements of the bar not only in one plane, but also in space. The unusual abilities of "apple" devices are demonstrated in a video on YouTube.

5. Control iPhone and iPad with head movements

In the menu Settings –> General –> Accessibility –> Switch Control –> Switches –> Object Selection there are special options that allow you to configure head gestures to the right and left to perform certain commands. For example, by tilting your head to the right, you can turn up or down the volume, and by swiping to the other side, you can call up the multitasking panel or return to the main screen. The menu is hidden away in the operating system settings.

6. Hidden photo and video shooting

Sometimes there are situations when it is necessary to take a few pictures or record a video without being noticed by others. A wonderful feature of iOS will help with this task. Instructions for using the function can be found here.

7. Deleting numbers in the calculator using swipes

In the Calculator application, you can delete the last entered numbers. This is done with a simple swipe to the right or left across the field with symbols.

8. Black and white mode

Black-and-white interface mode has been added to the G8 settings. You can find the switch in the menu General –> Accessibility –> Grayscale.

9. Ability to hide photos

The Photos app and iCloud Photo Archive give you access to all your photos and videos anytime, anywhere. Photos are easy to find and organized in the same way on all devices. In addition, in the latest version of iOS, Photos allows you to hide pictures - the selected photos will disappear from the Moments, Collections and Years views, but will be visible in the Albums section.

10. Filter messages from unknown contacts

In the latest release of the software platform, it became possible to filter messages from unknown subscribers. The Messages application groups such messages into a separate section. You can learn how to use this iPhone feature in this article.

11. Spock Gesture Emoji

In the latest release of iOS, Apple has expanded the standard set of emoji. The emoji keyboard has over 300 new icons. At the same time, support for emoticons appeared, which are not yet presented directly on the keyboard. One of them is the “Live Long and Prosper” gesture, which was demonstrated by a character from the science fiction television series Star Trek. The OS supports the Vulcan salute icon - you just need to set up a keyboard shortcut to insert it.

12. Disable "swipes" in the Photos app

Sometimes it becomes necessary to limit the operation of certain functions of the iPhone and iPad. For example, prevent children from accessing certain websites or applications, hide contacts in the address book or recent calls from your significant other. iOS provides such opportunities. One of the functions allows you to limit the ability to scroll through photos in the standard photo library. Relevant for situations where the user decided to show the photo to a friend, but does not want him to be able to view other photos. Learn how to set up this feature here.

13. Hide any app from home screen

Every time a new version of iOS is released, users find ways to use the operating system's bugs to their advantage. This was the case, for example, with the Kiosk app in iOS 6 and folders in iOS 7. The iOS 8 platform was no exception. Even during testing, the developers found many bugs and shortcomings. Some of them migrated to the final assembly. One of the iOS 8 bugs allows you to hide any applications from the screen, including system ones, with the help of simple manipulations. All details at this link.

14. Add blank icons to your home screen

Previously, in order to add a blank icon to the home screen of an iPhone or iPad, users had to resort to jailbreak and install specialized tweaks from Cydia. Not so long ago, an easier way to achieve the same effect appeared.

15. Add Folder to Folder

Folders in iOS have no limits on the number of apps. You can add an unlimited number of icons to them. Although from a certain point in this it makes no sense, since it will take as much time to search for applications in a folder as to scroll through the screens on the desktop. The springboard feature in iOS 8 allows you to add folders to folders using simple manipulations. How to do this, MacDigger told here.

16. Photo while shooting video

17. Download free apps without entering passwords

Apple has added a setting to iOS that allows you to download free games and apps without verifying your Apple ID account password. To make purchases in the App Store and iTunes, the user must enter passwords or place a finger on the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. If the device does not have a biometric sensor, the process of downloading applications is rather tedious. In iOS 8.3, it became possible to disable the mandatory confirmation of downloads with a code word in the case of free content - applications, music and books. The option becomes available if authorization using Touch ID is disabled on the device. It is located in the "iTunes Store, App Store" section.

18. Find the location of a lost iPhone even after a complete discharge

The iOS 8 platform received a number of improvements in terms of Apple's proprietary services. This also applies to Find My iPhone. Few people know, but the service for searching for missing and stolen devices has acquired a special mode “Last location”. It allows the iPhone and iPad to automatically send their location data before a complete discharge. The corresponding switch is located in the iCloud menu –> Find My iPhone.

19. Display accurate cellular signal strength

iPhone owners can, using standard operating system tools, find out the exact signal level in the operator's mobile network. Moreover, for this it is not necessary to subject the mobile device to the jailbreak procedure. The indicator shows the signal level in the range from -40 to -130. A value of -40 means the best reception. How to activate this mode, MacDigger wrote here.

20. Improve recognition accuracy of Touch ID fingerprint scanner

Some users complain about the unstable operation of the fingerprint scanner built into the main button of the smartphone. iOS has a hidden ability to "train" Touch ID. The platform allows you to correct the entered biometric data of fingers without the need to rescan fingerprints. You can find out more about this here.

Supporters of Apple products, waiting for the fifth release of the smartphone, must have suffered some disappointment. And dissatisfaction. But how? They were waiting for something new, unusual, but they got the same model, however, in slightly different clothes. But while the iPhone4S isn't quite as impressive as its predecessor, let's take a look at it anyway. We will not evaluate at first sight. Moreover, the first glance can be deceiving, and the smartphone deserves our attention.

So, the processor is faster, the camera is improved, and the virtual assistant has become “smarter”. In addition, the built-in memory is twice as much. Thanks to this, the new 4S surpassed the iPhone 4 in class and found its niche in the market, despite the fact that it looks the same.

Apple claims it's the most amazing iPhone ever. Maybe. Is the device really that updated?

iPhone 4S hardware

In 2010, Apple introduced its new unusual project. With its unique design, smartphone No. 4 captured, caught the eye, struck the imagination. It was a completely new and unique creation introduced to the market at that time. The combination of stainless steel, glass on the front and back panels and protruding screws seemed "brutal", but still contained an exquisite zest. It attracted attention even after a while from the start of sales. Beckoned people. Everyone wanted to feel the touch of a new creation. The company caused a sensation.

As for the iPhone 4S, it does not impress with its appearance, because it is identical to its "predecessor". And yet, not only appearance is pleasant to perceive. iPhone 4S gives the feeling of something small, dense and heavy. This completely different feel completely sets it apart from its plastic competitors.

iPhone4S, having inherited all the good things from its predecessor and adding more advanced elements, is of interest to itself. Still attractive, more refined, weighing only 137 to 140 grams, the Iphone4S is in demand among Apple fans.

The case of the new Apple 4S is made in the same style of the company. From the previous 4th, it differs only in the displacement of the buttons by some fractions of a millimeter. Even the location of the external antennas remains the same. At first glance, even the most faithful admirer of Apple products could not distinguish 4S from CDMA 4th. But the point is not how the external antennas of this model are located, but how they function. And this is what we are going to talk about now.

Now, when you communicate on a smartphone, you should not be worried about the signal level on the device. After all, the Apple 4S model is able to independently switch from one antenna to another without causing any inconvenience. However, it cannot be argued that now the iPhone will change the attitude of consumers who abandoned it due to systematic signal loss. It is very difficult to change an established opinion. In order to reveal all the shortcomings, it will take a lot of time and a huge number of users who will torture the device thousands and thousands of times.

Only dense and complete operation will help to identify all the shortcomings of the new model. Nevertheless, when comparing the quality level of the received signal of individual Apple 4S models of the previous 4th, it was experimentally revealed that with the same operator and location of the devices, the new model showed a signal reception level slightly higher than the previous 4th. And one more plus - the brand new 4S adapts much better to 3G networks, and the connection is much more stable and better.

Despite the similar appearance of the 4s 4th, the developers have changed most of the stuffing. Although Apple is silent, the 4S is built on a dual-core chip, which was used in the iPad 2. And it operates at a performance frequency of 800 MHz, which cannot be considered a full-fledged 1 GHz, like a tablet. And the RAM remained the same, the same 512 MB. But the built-in memory for storing information has become much larger, 64 GB.

Now it is possible to use the Apple 4S in almost any country in the world, as support for cellular networks has been expanded. At the moment, these are four UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA bands (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz) and four GSM / EDGE bands (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) and also two CDMA EV-DO Rev (900, 1900 MHz). This allows this model to work in all existing 3G networks. But with 4G there are no models for sale yet.

On the front of the new iPhone 4S is a 3.5-inch 960x640 Retina display with a pixel density of 326ppi. This is the highest resolution display on a phone to date. Any picture on it looks great and very clear, which gives the maximum assessment of the quality of the display. But the size of the display itself leaves much to be desired. After all, devices are produced with large display sizes. After you use a device with a 4.2-inch display, Apple appears to be a phone with a narrow screen.

Software (Siri)

Very little time has passed since the release of the iPhone 4S, but with the advent of the new model on the market, the whole world became aware of the new iOS 5. This is the latest operating system for mobile devices, and it is she who is able to prove to everyone that Apple is still capable of being a leader. This iOS contains about 200 innovations compared to the previous version. Added features such as software update without a computer, updated version of the modem, improved security system and much more, which will allow you to use your iPonhe 4S to its full potential and make it an integral part of your life.

Probably, you have heard more than once about Siri, a personal assistant controlled by voice commands. Siri is an improved version of the Siri Virtual Assistant program, which in turn was created on the same principle as the CALO software, a voice assistant for military personnel.

Siri is currently only available on the iPhone 4S. Apple explains this by saying that installing Siri requires special processor characteristics, which so far only this model of the popular smartphone has. However, given that Siri needs an active Internet connection to work properly, it is doubtful that it is the processor that determines the possibility of installing Siri on a smartphone - most likely all the enormous work of voice recognition is done in the data center on the most powerful computers. If so, then, in fact, the voice assistant can be installed on other devices that are simpler in terms of characteristics. In addition, the question arises why Siri is not on the iPad 2, because, as you know, it has a more powerful filling than the iPhone 4S.

Siri is a very smart program, it can do things that its followers could not do. Why does everyone call Siri "she"? The most obvious answer is a female voice, which Siri responds to its owner, although the direct question "what is your gender?" it will return the answer "I was not assigned a specific gender." Siri currently only understands 3 languages: English, French and German.

Siri has a huge arsenal of different functions - it works with text messages and e-mail messages, answers search queries and gets directions from one point to another according to your desire. These features, of course, are not new in nature and we have seen similar things on other devices, but the incomparable plus of Siri is its ability to understand spoken language and non-standard commands with relative ease.

With Siri, you can just talk like a real person. For example, if you want to text your mom and tell her that you and your family will visit her on the weekend, you just need to say "Tell mom that we will come on Saturday." The SMS message will be as follows: "We will arrive on Saturday." The first time, of course, Siri will not know which of the contacts your mom is, she will ask, you will answer her, and she will remember it forever.

Or let's say you receive a text message with a suggestion to meet somewhere, you ask Siri to check your plans for a particular day and then simply give the command: "Answer that the meeting will take place there at such and such." Siri won't even ask you who to answer. She understands everything herself, this is not just a convenient program for organizing the workspace, saving time and not just a reference book on the phone - this is your assistant in the truest sense of the word.

To communicate with Siri, there is no need to remember command patterns as on other platforms like Android. For example. If you, for example, want to have a bite to eat, but do not know any places nearby where you can do it, you should not say “restaurants on the Arbat” in a clear voice, Siri just ask “where you can eat on the Arbat”, or simply ask: “show me me restaurants on the Arbat” or “tell me where to eat on the Arbat”. Siri will understand almost any wording. However, when it comes to directions, google maps is of course more clear and accurate than maps on iOS.

Let's watch a video that clearly shows how Siri works. The video is very funny 🙂.

However, Siri is not the only one of its kind, the Vlingo app is also capable of similar tricks. In addition, it should be noted that Siri is not always more accurate than other similar programs on the market. Comparative testing of the capabilities of the iOS 5 operating system with its voice functions for smartphones based on Windows and Android operating systems was carried out and determined that they are largely similar.

Siri's dictation service has a more user-friendly interface than Android's and is easier to use on the screen, but their accuracy is equally good. Windows Phone struggled to perform verbatim recognition, but invariably lost words, complicating speech structures beyond the limits. For example, the spoken sentence "Kurt Vonnegut livednear Schenectady, New York" became "Could I get laid in your Schenectady New York." at Shanctady, New York). Mr. Vonnegut would surely have liked this juicy message, but the translation was not what we wanted.

Yet the potential of Siri allows you to do more - it notifies you of a new incoming message, then reads it to you and allows you to respond to it with your voice! It's frustrating, though, that Siri can't read your email to you as easily. It doesn't matter, it just means that you can't completely switch to voice control - you can, of course, dictate your answer to e-mail, but before that you need a little manual action on the smartphone.

Or, let's say you wanted to find information about Wolfram-Alpha on the Internet. Of course, you could ask Siri to find something on this topic, and she will diligently do this, but she herself will not be able to read you the answer to your request. You will have to look at the smartphone screen yourself, since information about Wolfram-Alpha will be received in the form of images, not the usual text. This is where the essence of the limitation of functionality lies.

A conscientious assistant will diligently fulfill your request, after which he will promptly report to you on the results of his work, but he will never think of typing his answer and forcing you to read it. That's why having to periodically pull your smartphone out of your pocket and examine its messages makes Siri less of a magical program, but even with these shortcomings, it still makes a strong impression. This means that Apple has a strategic interest in the voice recognition program and further voice interaction between a person and a smartphone. I would like to live to see the time when we can chat about life with the Siri of some next generation.

There is great hope that future Siri little siblings will be able to work offline, as Siri currently requires a completely free 3G or WiFi connection. Now even the simple voice commands available in previous versions of iOS no longer work offline, and if you're one of the few who used them, you'll have to look elsewhere. We hope that Siri will nevertheless expand its horizons, and will be able to cover not only the whole of Europe, but also, preferably, Russia.

As unfortunate as it is to hack into such a wonderful device, opening the back reveals that the new battery for the iPhone 4S is only marginally larger than the battery in the previous model, the iPhone 4. So Apple's promise of longer battery life is due to the more efficient power consumption of the smartphone itself. And this, in fact, is very important news - improving a smartphone and optimizing its energy consumption is much more attractive to the user than a rash increase in the size of the battery, and, therefore, the weight of the entire device.

In the new model, according to Apple's promises, the battery will provide up to eight hours of battery life in active 3G mode, which is 1 hour longer than in the previous model. It is curious that the "sleep mode" has decreased from 300 hours for the "four" to 200 hours for the "4S". It seems that the new smartphone is disturbed by something during sleep. Other battery costs have not changed: as in the previous model, it lasts for 14 hours of continuous conversation in GSM networks, or 40 hours of audio listening, or 10 hours of video viewing.

If you are not worried about battery capacity and are only interested in maximum speed, then the 4S model will not deceive you in expectations. In the SunSpider 9.1 JavaScript test, it showed much faster Web page loading, namely 2200ms on the iPhone 4S versus 3700ms on the iPhone 4. In addition, it turned out that the response of the Web browser is much better than many others smartphones. Indeed, the 4S's browser speed is the same as the Galaxy Tab10.1's (2200ms), but it still can't beat the iPad 2's 1700ms.

Other tests were also tested on 4S. In the test for the speed of performing general tasks, the smartphone performed remarkably well. However, since the performance of the Quad is still very high, despite its technological aging, we did not see a noticeable difference when running both devices at the same time. Yes, in the new mobile phone, applications will load a little faster and respond a little more clearly, Web pages will load just as quickly, but the developers from Apple, creating the “four”, have achieved such brilliant results that updating the speed in the new model is almost not very noticeable.

Of course, everything can change when downloading games that require special resources. But so far, such games have not yet been created and it is impossible to test the advantage of a new smartphone over an old one on them.

Apple is justifiably proud of its iPhone 4's status as the top rated camera on sites like Flickr. So what's new in 4S? iPhone 4S resolution has increased from 5 to 8 million pixels, the camera received a new set of lenses with increased aperture and F: 2.4 aperture instead of F: 2.8. Better camera quality certainly doesn't guarantee better shots, but the camera unit on the new iPhone 4S looks impressive.

When we first tested the camera, we pretended to be tourists flicking the shutter left and right and taking random shots. The quality of these pictures turned out to be very high, perhaps one of the best among smartphones with an extra-class photo module. Contrast is not excessive like the Galaxy S II, focusing is fast and accurate (we only had a couple of bad shots in macro mode).

The video quality is also excellent. The iPhone 4S camera can capture excellent 1080p at 30 frames per second, and the resulting video is very clear and bright. Auto focus works flawlessly and quickly.

There is, however, one unpleasant little thing that Apple has not yet eliminated - the location of the camera in the case. The lens sits close to the edge of the device, which put our finger in the field of view in many of the shots.

Conclusion about the iPhone 4S

What is the conclusion, is this really the best of the iPhone family? Yes it is. The iPhone 4S inherits all the merits of the previous model, adds a significantly improved camera - and all this without any noticeable weight of the smartphone. Now it remains to answer your own question - is it worth it to upgrade your iPhone 4? Definitely yes, if you are an ardent fan of the iOS operating system and tirelessly download new tempting applications from the AppStore, especially games. But if everything suits you already in the iPhone 4, don't throw it away. Yes, of course, the iPhone 4S does everything better than the iPhone 4, but to notice this difference you need to live with both devices at the same time.

The capabilities of the iPhone are its main "chip". Unlike other devices, all the functions of "apple" smartphones are worked out in detail, and therefore, they work smoothly and smoothly. Already "out of the box" the device has all the most necessary options that allow you to comfortably use the Internet, make calls, take photos / shoot videos, listen to music, watch videos.

But, oddly enough, the iPhone has quite a few non-obvious features that not all gadget owners know about. The Ain resource suggested 15 hidden gadget features that allow you to save mobile traffic, charge your smartphone faster, and improve the performance of the fingerprint scanner. The post is intended for those who are interested in knowing all the features of the iPhone.

1. Close three programs at once

Need to close multiple apps? In order not to swipe up each card separately, you can use three fingers, then you can close three tasks at a time.

2. Flashlight quick turn off

All iPhone users are aware that in Control Center there is a quick access to the flashlight function. But not many people know that you can turn it off not only in the usual way, but also by launching the camera when the screen is locked.

3. Built-in level

With the help of a gyroscope, the iPhone is able to determine when the surface it rests on is perfectly horizontal or vertical. To use this feature, launch the standard Compass app and swipe to open the next screen.

4. Search in messages, their time and color

In order to find a specific message, you can use a special search. The text input field appears when you drag down the list of messages. To see the exact time of receiving or sending a message, drag the screen with them to the left - a line with the time will appear on the right. Also, in case you're not aware, iMessage messages have a blue background, and plain SMS has a green background.

5. Underlined and bold text, italics

In some applications, the text formatting bar is immediately visible, but otherwise users often don't know how to bring it up. By selecting the text to edit and calling the copy / paste window, you will also find B I U settings that allow you to edit the formatting.

6. Quickly go back

Unlike Android devices, the iPhone does not have a dedicated back button. But in apps like Settings, Mail, Messages, Safari, you can quickly go back with a swipe to the right. This option often works in third-party apps like Instagram as well.

7. Focus and exposure lock

When the camera is turned on, tapping on the screen sets the focus and exposure, but when the iPhone moves, these settings are reset. To lock them on a specific point, press and hold your finger on the screen until the exposure and focus lock notification appears.

8. Create different vibration alerts

Want to know about someone's call without even looking at the phone? In the contact settings, there is an option to select and create a vibration for the alert. In order to create a vibration type, select the desired person in your contacts and, by editing his data, create a new vibration signal. It will be created with the taps of your fingers and can be an original way to highlight any of your contacts.

9. Saving mobile Internet traffic

If you monitor your cellular data usage and want to reduce your data usage, iOS has the option to turn off cellular data for individual apps. Find the "Cellular" item in the settings and at the bottom you will see toggles for each application.

10. Increase battery life

Spotlight is, of course, a very useful feature that allows you to quickly get the information you need. But, in cases where battery power is more valuable, you can turn off the tracking of some data, since the constant indexing of many indicators drains the battery a lot. The Spotlight menu can be found in iPhone General Settings.

11. More emoticons and characters on the keyboard

In iOS 8.3, Apple added the ability to change the color of emojis and emotions. Also, when you see the keyboard on iOS, don't forget that some of the letters or symbols may have different variations. In order to see the extended versions, you need to select the desired emotion on the keyboard and hold your finger on it for a few seconds.

12. Touch ID improvements

While Touch ID does its job so well, there is one trick that will make the iPhone's fingerprint scanner work even better. In the Touch ID menu, create several "new fingerprints" by placing the same finger on the sensor each time. Two or three times will be enough.

13. Continuous shooting

Thanks to the powerful iPhone processor, the camera allows you to take a series of photos. Then, from a large number of frames, you can choose the most successful ones. The mode is great for photos of sports events, children and special moments that you are afraid of photographing unsuccessfully.

14. Faster iPhone charging

Sometimes in a hurry, you need to charge your smartphone faster than usual. In this case, after connecting the charging cord, turn on "Airplane Mode".

15. Privacy Protection

This feature will not only provide greater privacy, but also slightly extend the battery life. The fact is that the iPhone sends data about its location to Apple. In order to disable this option, find the “System Services” item in the privacy settings and turn off surveillance.

Every day we use our iPhone for all kinds of tasks: calls, messages, mail, games, Twitter, social networks, reading, music and much, much more. But not everyone knows that most of these tasks can be not only accelerated, but also simplified. We've rounded up twenty-five useful tips and tricks for you to make using your iPhone even easier (how much easier?) and more convenient.

Tip #1: Turn iBooks into Audiobooks

Few people know, but any book from iBooks can be easily turned into audiobooks and, for example, listen to them in the car on the way to work: much more interesting and useful than some boring radio broadcast. So what do we need to do? Go to "Settings" - "General" - "Accessibility". Next, you need to go to the "VoiceOver" section and switch the toggle switch, enabling this feature.

Once VoiceOver is turned on, all the text that appears on the screen will be read to you. Of course, this is not a professional announcer, but the voice acting is very acceptable. But do not forget that the feature is primarily intended for those who have any kind of vision problems, so after turning on VoiceOver, the gestures and controls on your iPhone will change. Not that critical, but to be honest, it will not be very convenient. By the way, I advise you to turn off the "Hints" - it will be more convenient.

Tip #2: Quick access to unfinished email

There are situations when you start writing a letter, but then urgent matters arise and there is no time to finish it. Of course, when time is free, we will return to Mail.app and finish writing the letter, because it still needs to be sent and there is no choice. Having saved the letter in drafts, when you return to writing it, you will have to do more than one “tap”, especially if you have several mail accounts, to get into drafts and find this letter there. Why complicate your life when there is a much easier way, with just one touch.

To go back to the last email you sent as drafts, just open Mail.app, press and hold the Compose button (the pencil in the box in the bottom right corner). After one or two seconds, the last unfinished project will open in front of you.

Tip #3: Submit Multiple Photos at One Time

Agree, sending each photo in a separate message or letter is, to put it mildly, a little inconvenient. It is much easier and faster to send several photos in one letter.

In the upper right corner of the photo gallery there is a button with an arrow, by clicking on it you can select several photos at once that you want to send by e-mail, via SMS or just print. Unfortunately, the number of sending photos via email is limited to five at a time, and via SMS is even less - only two.

Tip #4: Let Siri fill out the email form for you

Every time I send another e-mail, I don’t want to fill out the entire e-mail form myself: to whom to send, the subject of the letter, and then the letter itself. Now, thanks to Siri, this whole process can be done in less than a minute.

You just open Mail.app and a form to write a new letter. After that, press and hold the Home button and say to Siri, for example: "Remind my wife about tonight's party and tell her not to forget to grab a bottle of red wine." Done: Siri will already know who your wife is (if not, she will ask about it once and remember for the future) and automatically add your wife's mail, taking it from contacts, to the "Subject" line, Siri will add the word "Party", because that's what your proposal is about. And the text of the letter will indicate everything that you asked your wife to say: “Grab a bottle of red wine.” That's all. Simple, isn't it?

Tip #5: Close all unnecessary applications

Very often we are faced with the problem of fast battery discharge. In order to at least a little, but still correct this situation, do not forget to close all applications you do not need. Moreover, many of them are able to greatly influence the discharge rate. This is especially true for applications that are somehow related to location and navigation.

To close all unnecessary applications, double-click on the "Home" button, which will open the multitasking panel. Press and hold your press on the icon of the application that you want to close: after a second, the icons will tremble and red crosses will appear next to them, by clicking on which you will finally close the applications you do not need.

Tip #6: Tweet from Almost Any App

Often on various forums, many iPhone users complain that they cannot send a tweet from any application other than the client for the microblogging service itself. And, as a rule, these users do not know one very banal moment: in order to tweet other applications, they only need to register their account once in the iPhone settings.

To activate your account, you need to go to "Settings" and select the section that is called "Twitter". If you already have an account in this microblogging service, then just enter your username and password. If you don’t have an account, then you can create it right there - the registration process will take just a few minutes. After these simple manipulations, you will be able to send tweets, for example, from the photo gallery, Safari, camera, maps, YouTube and so on.

Tip #7: Fixing “Ignoring” Bluetooth Devices

Those who have ever connected any Bluetooth device to their iPhone know that the iPhone provides the ability to ignore this device. But if you decide to ignore this device, for example, if you don’t have time to connect now or just by accident, then your iPhone may no longer see the device when you decide to connect it again. How to fix this awkward situation? - It's easy: just restart your iPhone. When it turns back on, you will again be able to connect to the device you once ignored.

Tip #8: Use Siri for Facebook and Twitter

Everyone knows that Apple will add the ability to write tweets and change Facebook statuses to Siri in the new iOS 6 operating system. But you don’t have to wait for iOS 6 or install the next beta. Siri is capable of this already today, although, unfortunately, not in all countries (but I advise you to try it, I could not personally check it, since I have an iPhone 4).

So let's start with Facebook. To be able to change your statuses on this social network using Siri, you need to send an SMS with the text "hello" to the number 32665 (by the way, these numbers look like FBOOK on a traditional keyboard). After sending the SMS, you will receive a message in response with a link that you need to follow to complete all the settings. After that, you will receive a short number that you need to add to your contact list and give it the name "Facebook". Now you can tell Siri "Text Facebook" and dictate the text that will appear in your status.

The same should be done for Twitter. It is necessary to send an SMS with the word “start” to 40404 (USA) or 21212 (Canada), after which you will receive a short number in response. This number must also be added to your contact list and given the name "Twitter". And then everything is like with Facebook: say "Text Twitter" to Siri and dictate the desired tweet.

Tip #9: Choose a Specific Screen Orientation

Don't want the screen to constantly change from portrait to landscape when you rotate your iPhone? Then this tip is for you.

All you need to do is open the multitasking panel and swipe to the right. The leftmost icon with a round arrow will be just a function that will help you fix a certain screen orientation. In the same way, you can then cancel this blocking. As you can see, everything is very easy and fast.

Tip #10: Add PDF Files to iBooks

Why download extra applications, especially if they are paid to view PDF files? - Absolutely unnecessary. That's what I think. If you've been sent a PDF file, just tap and hold on its icon and your iPhone will prompt you to open the file in iBooks. In addition, iBooks has a special section for such files so that they are not mixed with books.

You can go to this section by clicking on the "Books" button in the library of the iBooks application.

Tip #11: Keyboard Features

Agree, when you type an SMS to your friend for a couple of seconds, spending the same amount just to go to the special characters section and put a period is somehow ridiculous. There is a much easier and faster way: as soon as you have finished writing the next sentence, “tap” twice on the space button - a dot will be placed at the end of the sentence automatically, a space will appear after the sentence and the Shift button will already be prepared so that the new sentence begins with a capital letters.

Also, if you click on some of the letters provided on the keyboard, you can see a list of additional characters. Probably, everyone is familiar with this possibility, thanks to situations where you need to write a solid character, which is not originally on the keyboard.

Tip #12: Siri is also a calculator

Siri can not only search for information for you, but also serve as a good alternative to the usual calculator. You can ask her to perform various mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication or division, as well as ask her to solve simple math problems, equations or functions. Alternatively, you can ask Siri, “If there are four of us, how much should each of us give to tip 20% of a $300 bill?” - Siri will immediately respond that each of the friends must chip in $ 15.

Tip #13: Quickly Delete Messages

Many iPhone users spend extra time deleting unwanted messages. Although you can delete an entire conversation in just a couple of seconds. Just swipe to the left and a "Delete" button will appear next to the conversation, by clicking on which you will erase the entire conversation from your phone. Much easier and faster than doing it through the "Edit" button or deleting messages one by one, isn't it?

Tip #14: Tap to Adjust Focus

Probably, those who often take pictures on their iPhone know this simple advice, but you can’t ignore it. If, while shooting with a camera, you want, for example, to focus on your girlfriend's face or on what a beautiful glass of cocktail she is holding in her hand, just "tap" on the screen of your iPhone to this place and the phone will automatically focus on the selected element. The photo will be beautiful and interesting.

Tip #15: Take your time deleting bad photos

Firstly, very often many users delete several photos at once, which seem to them not very good, without even looking at them. It is not right. Not only can you delete a photo that turns out to be beautiful in a closer look, but you can also accidentally delete a photo that you would not have deleted even on purpose. Secondly, it's best to delete pictures after you look at them on a computer: this way you can understand for yourself whether the photo turned out or something is wrong in it. And, thirdly, no matter how surprising it may sound, but the process of deleting any files, including photos and videos, spends a lot of energy on your iPhone. If you don’t feel sorry for the photos, then save at least the battery charge.

Tip #16: Create Folders

Be careful not to make unnecessary mess on your desktops. With the help of folders, you will not only be able to quickly find the application or game you need, but also bring your desktop to a neat and convenient look. Move the icons of the applications that you use most often to the main desktop, and you can create folders by category on all other desktops.

To create a folder, simply drag the icon of one application to the icon of another application. Folders can be renamed and placed on the desktop as you like. It's best to create folders based on application categories such as games, social, navigation, and so on.

Tip #17: Take photos comfortably

I think that I'm not the only one who is not very comfortable taking pictures with the help of "tap" on the camera button, which is located on the iPhone screen. If in portrait mode this is probably the best option, then in landscape mode it is the worst. But Apple thought of everything, such a company could not have made such an offensive mistake. If you hold your iPhone horizontally while shooting, just press the volume up button and your iPhone will instantly take a photo. This is very convenient, because the “+” button is located exactly where the shutter release is located on real cameras.

Tip #18: Viewing Photos

If you swipe to the right while in camera mode, you will immediately start viewing the latest photos. This is much faster and more convenient than opening the photo gallery with a tap on the icon in the lower left corner.

Tip #19: Listening to Music

Did you know that the standard headphones that come with iPhone have three switch buttons? Two of them, of course, are responsible for volume control, but the third, located in the middle, between the volume controls, is quite multifunctional. By clicking on it once - you pause the playing track or, of course, continue playing it; two clicks - you will skip the next track; three - will start listening to the previous song.

And those who have access to Siri can use it to order music from their collection. For example, by telling the voice assistant: "Turn on David Guetta."

Tip #20: Add events to your calendar directly from your email

The Mail.app application is convenient in that it can easily determine whether it is a specific day of the week / time or not. For example, if you write in your email: "Don't forget, we will join your holiday on Friday afternoon" - the iPhone will underline this day in blue and the person to whom you send this letter directly from the Mail.app application will be able to add the specified event to their calendar .

Tip #21: Keep everything in sync

You can synchronize any of your data and files. And we strongly advise you to do this to protect yourself from losing something important, for example, if your device is accidentally deleted, broken or stolen. Moreover, synchronization does not require any wires, computers and connections. You can make a copy in iCloud "over the air".

To create a backup in iCloud, open "Settings" - "iCloud", at the very bottom, go to the "Storage and backups" section and click "Back up". You will be able to choose which files should be placed in storage and which should not. If the provided 5 GB is not enough for you, then you can always buy additional space in the cloud storage.

Tip #22: Set Limits

Everyone knows that there is a lot of content that should not be seen by anyone but you, or, for example, something that is clearly not intended for the eyes of your children. In such cases, the best way out is to put a restriction on viewing a particular application or content.

You can enable restrictions like this: "Settings" - "General" - "Restrictions". First, you need to turn on restrictions on your iPhone and enter a four-digit security passcode, which you will need to enter every time you (or someone else) wants to view protected applications. After the password is set, you can choose which applications should be closed from public access, and which ones can be left.

Tip #23: Delete Unwanted Apps

Don't make your iPhone a dumping ground for apps that "I might use again someday." Starting with iOS 5, you can see how much space an app is taking up on your iPhone in Settings.

If you see, for example, that the Max Payne game takes up as much as 1.3 GB, and you haven’t played it for a long time or completely passed it, then perhaps it’s time to say: “Max, come on, goodbye” and remove the game from the phone.

Tip #24: Avoid Unnecessary Pushes

Another way to prolong battery life is to turn off unnecessary pushes. This is especially true for "push" messages that come very often, for example, from Twitter or any other social networking application. Believe me, you can also live without "push" and not miss or forget anything. Although, of course, it is not necessary to refuse all notifications.

Tip #25: Turn on the Emoji Keyboard

You can enable the Emoji keyboard in "Settings" - "General" - "" - "International keyboards". As a rule, there are only two keyboards: the Russian keyboard is in the first place, and the English keyboard is in the second. Add the Emoji keyboard in third place.

With this keyboard, you can send your interlocutor not only text and emoticons that are made using punctuation marks, but also real drawn emoticons and small pictures. Thanks to this, your communication will become even more fun and funny.

The iPhone, like any complex technology, has many hidden features, many of which are very useful. Here is a selection of life hacks.

1. Unlock your phone with your nose

In winter, using a smartphone is not very convenient. Even if you have gloves that transmit touch to the screen, in order to turn on the phone, you must either enter the password every time or take off your gloves. But there is another way. In the TouchID system settings, select "add a fingerprint", and put your nose instead of a finger. In the cold, the nose already sticks out, so bringing the phone to the nose is easier than taking off the gloves.

2. Turn your phone so that it is behind you

When you work, the constantly lit iPhone screen can be very distracting. Here is a retweet, there is news, here the channel has been updated. Even if notifications come without sound and vibration, your phone is constantly flashing somewhere in the field of view. If you turn it over, the phone will vibrate only for the most important alerts. And if you have iOS 9 (and higher) installed, the proximity sensor will also tell the phone that the screen does not need to be turned on again. And so you can surprisingly significantly save battery power.

3. Fall asleep faster in the evening

Starting with iOS 9.3, the Night Shift feature has been added to the iPhone 5S and newer. This is a mode that changes the color of the screen depending on the time of day. The darker it is outside, the less cold colors and the more warm ones. If you sit with your phone in the evening on social networks, the bright light of the screen prevents you from falling asleep - it interferes with the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. With Night Shift on, this effect is reduced. You can turn on the mode in the screen settings, and when the sun sets, the screen will gradually change color.

4. Quickly play music or podcasts

When you connect headphones to your phone or insert a USB cable that is connected to the car, the icon of the last application that you actively used with headphones - music, podcasts, YouTube - appears on the lock screen in the lower left corner. Very handy for a quick start. The same will happen if you double-click the home button - the icon will be at the bottom, under the carousel of open applications.

5. Quit Apps Quickly

If you love closing apps to keep them from draining your battery, we will disappoint you. This action is quite meaningless, alas. When the application is running in the background, it consumes almost no battery. But this way you can free up some RAM. Well, someone is just calmer when everything is closed. In any case, it can be done more efficiently. If you swipe on the screen not with one finger, but with three, then you can close applications three times faster, since the iPhone screen is able to track more than one touch at a time.

6. Take photos discreetly

There are two ways to secretly take a photo. First, press any volume button on the phone, it works like a shutter. But still, if you turn the phone in your hands and press the button, someone will notice. If you have headphones with volume buttons (it is important that they work, some headphones have buttons, but they do not change the volume on the iPhone), you can take a photo and pretend that you are adjusting the headphones. We hope you will not use this knowledge for evil.

7. Calculate sines and cosines

If you open the calculator and turn the iPhone to landscape mode, that is, on its side, the usual calculator turns into a logarithmic one, and you can perform more complex calculations.

8. Check if the painting is hanging straight

Every iPhone since the release of 3GS has a compass. But besides this, modern smartphones are crammed with other sensors. Including, there is an accelerometer and a gyroscope. These sensors allow you to use your iPhone as a level and check the evenness of any surface. Open the Compass app, swipe left, and touch your phone to whatever you're checking for flatness.

9. Get a new phone instead of a dead one

There are many ways to break an iPhone. But if you give the iPhone to the first available repair, the warranty flies. And most importantly, what you deprive yourself of when you make repairs from an uncertified specialist is the opportunity to replace your phone. If you break your phone, drown it or burn it yourself, you can request a paid replacement from a certified repair center. To do this, it is necessary that the phone was purchased officially, less than two years have passed since the purchase, and that the phone is not opened with a screwdriver. Most likely it will be more expensive than repairs, but you will have a completely new device.

10. Turn off your phone, even if your button is broken

On iPhones, the on-off button sometimes breaks. Models 4 and 4S were especially guilty of this. Almost all iPhones of that generation no longer have these buttons. But there is a trick. In the settings there is an Assistive Touch mode - for people with disabilities. This button appears on the screen, and with it, almost all phone functions can be configured with one hand. Including, there is a button "lock screen". This can save you thousands of messages and calls from your butt because the button doesn't work.

11. Recover accidentally deleted text

If you misspelled, pasted text into the wrong document, erased what you were going to copy, the iPhone has a way to undo the last action with the text. To do this, shake the phone. A window will appear asking if you want to undo this action or not. This feature is rarely needed, but when it is needed, it is needed very badly. Just remember, you made a mistake with the text - shake your phone.
