Which company released the first cell phone. The history of cellular communications in Russia

The first mobile phone appeared in 1983. From that moment on, phones began to develop rapidly in terms of design and functionality. The modern iPhone with its thousands of applications and games, high-quality photos and videos cannot be compared with that modest first Motorola. From that very first moment, thousands of different phone models have emerged.

In 2007, there was a revolution called "3G". The emergence of 3G networks made it possible to reduce the load on cellular communication channels and significantly expand the capabilities of subscribers. And the capabilities of phones, of course. A modern mobile phone that easily fits in the palm of your hand has such a range of functions that in the 80s was available to a “laptop” the size of a briefcase.

What were they like, the first phones?

The first was the telephone by Motorola with the mysterious name DynaTac... He was carrying a weighty tube with buttons and a protruding antenna. The phone could hardly fit in the hand and had a minimum number of functions for making calls.

In six years, the Motorola phone has evolved into a truly portable model - MicroTac... These phones had a small docking station and were installed in cars. However, they did not fit into the pocket of the clothes yet.

The next stage of development is over in 1992 model output Motorola international... It was the first fully digital mobile phone. An elegant, thin tube for those times with buttons and an antenna. Around the same time, the Nokia 1011, the first mass-produced GSM phone, appeared. The phone had an LCD screen located in the upper part of the body and a short - a few centimeters - antenna. At the same time, the first handheld computer from IBM appeared, or, as it was called, the telephone combo.

In 1996 Motorola produces the first phone is a clamshell... Sleek, slim phone with 2-line LED display. At the top of the clamshell there was only a speaker. There was a thin antenna in the upper right corner of the phone.

An alternative model described above was a telephone "Banana" Nokia 8110, which became popular in the first film "The Matrix". The phone was equipped with a small but very informative monochrome display. The keyboard was covered with a plastic cover that was moved downward, at the lower end of which a microphone was located.

The first series of smartphones was Nokia 9000 Communicator... The phone looked like an opening pencil case, in one half of which there was a colored oblong screen, on the second there was a full-fledged keyboard. This smartphone was built on the Intel 386 processor. In 1998 this communicator has significantly improved, evolved into model 9110i.

Mass model mobile phones at this time became Nokia 5110... It looked quite modest - a black candy bar with a screen, buttons and a small antenna. The phone had basic functions and was available to buyers. By 1999 he grew up up to Nokia 8210, in a more stylish design, with additional functionality.

The first phone with a WAP-browser was the Nokia 7110... A flat phone with a fairly large screen. Like the "banana", the keyboard was covered with a cover sliding down.

Nokia 5120: a phone for all occasions. The model differed in that it had a shockproof waterproof case, which, among other things, could be replaced.

Benefon ESC became the first phone with GPS... The phone was made in monoblock form factor, had a large screen and a stylish black and silver design.

First phone with mp3 player Samsung SPH-M100

The first phone with a built-in mp3 player was the Samsung SPH-M100, silver phone with flip-down microphone.

In the same period appeared legendary Nokia 3210... The phone differed in that it had an internal antenna and a T9 smart input for entering messages. It was sold about 160 million these phones.

In 2000 appeared first touchscreen phone... It was Ericsson R380... The phone had a monochrome screen, a decent part of which was hidden behind a flip-down keyboard.

At the same time, another popular phone legend - Nokia 3310... The model has become one of the most popular with about 126 million phones sold.

In 2001 the Nokia 8310 appeared... The phone was equipped with additional features that were new at that time: Infrared, functional calendar and FM radio.

At the same time, a miniature Ericsson T39 - the first phone with Bluetooth... It evolved very quickly into the T66, which is no more than a cigarette pack in height. The T68 already had a color screen.

Siemens at the same time releases the model S45, the first phone with GPRS with 360kb internal memory, which was quite a lot at the time.

In 2002 appeared Nokia 3510 designed to bring Internet services to the masses. The 3510i version had a color screen.

The first phone with a built-in camera was the Nokia 7650 slider.

At the same time appeared Sony Ericsson P800, a smartphone with a touch screen and 128 MB of memory. The phone had a nice light blue design.

In 2003 appeared Nokia 1100, another hit of sales. Since the release, it has been sold 200 million copies.

Then there appeared Nokia N-Gage and PalmOne, gadget phones, and Nokia 6600, Symbian phone... And the model Nokia 7600 became one of the first 3G smartphones, the lightest and smallest.

In 2004 legendary appears Motorola Razor V3, which has set the standard in the design of the industry. A smartphone Nokia 7610 is the first to carry a 1-megapixel camera... Its sibling Nokia 3220 offered full Internet access.

In 2005 appeared Nokia 1110- a low-cost GSM phone for developing countries. In parallel, its antipode appears - HTC Universal, the first 3G PDA with Windows Mobile.

In 2006 was released Nokia N73, the phone that attracted a following over the next few years. At the same time appeared Nokia E62 - the first business phone.

2007 year marked the emergence of the iPhone... It was a phone with a rotation sensor, a multi-touch touch interface. The phone instantly captured a significant market share. In response, Apple released the HTC Touch phone, with its own Multi-Touch interface and high-resolution display.

In 2008 appeared iPhone 3G, an even more coveted model for all applications that can be purchased from the AppStore.

Then appeared T-mobile g1, Google's first Android phone... By April 2009, one million phones had been sold.

At the same time, the legendary Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, mobile phone for music lovers. Business smartphone should also be noted Nokia E63, LG Dare with handwriting recognition, Nokia N79 with 5 megapixel camera and Carl Zeiss optics. The LG KC910 already had an 8 megapixel camera and xenon flash.

LG Arena appeared in 2009- first phone with 3D interface... Then the BlackBerry Curve 8900 appeared with a convenient trackball and high screen resolution. Unfortunately 2G. It is worth noting the appearance of the LG Versa - a phone with an attachable QWERTY keyboard and a virtual keyboard on the touch screen.

Since then, the evolution of mobile phones has been leaps and bounds. Almost every modern phone model began to have widgets for communication on popular social networks. Some models, for example Sony Ericsson Cyber-Shot, have powerful optics and a high-resolution sensor on board. Already, mobile phones have functionality close to the capabilities of a personal computer. Touchscreen phones are replacing the traditional candy bar. What will be next? 3D projection displays? What are mobile phones evolving into now?

A telephone is a device that allows people to talk from anywhere in the world. Currently, the transmission is carried out by means of electrical signals. The term itself originated from the ancient Greek language: "Tele" means "far away", and "background" means voice, sound.

Who invented the first telephone

Initially, telephones resembled large and bulky devices. They were devices with a lever for switching and dialing device in the form of a disk or large buttons. They used two types of microphones: coal and electret.

The first consisted of carbon powder, which, depending on the value of the electrical resistance, acted on the membrane. She transmitted sound to the subscriber.

The second consisted of a capacitor, one of the platinum of which was also a membrane. The sound influenced the capacitor, and the capacitor transmitted further vibrations to the plates.

Telephone set consisted of more than of 500 mechanical parts and was a bulky device. You couldn't take it with you or put it at home. For this, there were social telephone exchanges.

But time passed, technologies did not stand still, and today they represent more compact and mobile options.

The progenitor of the telephone is considered electric telegraph, which was invented after the discovery of electricity in the first half of the 19th century.

The very first device for transmitting voice at a distance, which could already be called a telephone, was invented, invented and demonstrated German scientist-inventor Johannes Reis in 1861. The device itself consisted of three main components: a microphone, a speaker, and a galvanic battery.

The history of the development of the first phones

In 1876 in America, scientist Alexander Bell patented the very first telephone in the world. entitled"Talking tube". The first instance had a maximum range of 200 meters and severely distorted sound at a distance.

Over the course of the year, Bell refined his equipment to remove line clutter. After that, it served in the region for a hundred years for all mankind, until it was modernized.

It is believed that the scientist accidentally discovered the principle of the telephone. During one of the experiments to improve telegraph communication, one of the data transmission plates got stuck. His assistant, seeing a hitch, began to swear. Unexpectedly for himself, Bell heard the indignant words of his partner in the telegraph receiver. So, an accidental event led to the emergence of modern telephones.

However, in 2002, the Congress of America recognized that Antonio Meucci was the first inventor. But the story that happened to the Italian is quite typical for that time. Italian inventor developed and invented the scheme of work of the device for transmitting voice at a distance independently. Unfortunately, at that point in time, he was a beggar. He simply did not have enough money for a piece of bread. As a result, he sold his development large company "Western Union" on the condition that they file a patent for it. When, after a long period of time, no response came, he filed a patent application himself. However, it was rejected.

At the same time, Antonio learns that the telephone was patented Alexander Bell. Such information severely crippled him. He tried to fight the company to restore justice, but he did not have enough funds. The result of litigation was his recognition as the inventor of the telephone only in 1887. By that time, he was already old, and died in poverty and obscurity. It wasn't until 2002 that the United States confirmed that he was essentially the founding father of the phone.

To transmit sound to another subscriber, it was also necessary to use special communication lines, which were created only in 1877. First line launched in Boston, and a year later - opened the first telephone exchange in New Haven. In 1878, American scientist Thomas Edison presents another model, which was more compact.

As you can see from the photo, disk telephones were the first to appear. They were more convenient in production, so for a long time only the model with discs was used. Mass production began after 1896.

Push-button telephones first appeared only in 1963. This was another attempt to improve the current model.

Thanks to Edison, landline telephones began to be massively used by ordinary citizens. In the fifty years since the discovery of Alexander Bell, the device for transmitting voice at a distance has become so popular that it has been installed in almost every home.

The invention of cellular communication

The prerequisites for the emergence of cellular communications are the invention domestic scientist Alexandra Popova under the name of the recorder of electromagnetic waves. He presented it at the Congress of the Physicochemical Society in 1895.

After an incident of several years, Guglielmo Marconi, using Morse code, sent a message almost one and a half kilometers. This was the next stage in the development of mobile communications. In 1896 he applied for a patent, and after receiving it founded a digging Marconi & Co.

Gradually, more and more scientists have invested their research and practical experience in the development of mobile communications. Over time, the first invention of Popov was modernized.

In 1900, Reginald Fessenden transmitted a voice message from one subscriber to another using a radio wave. After this research went in a different direction.

In 1921, the first mobile telegraph station... In its principle of action, it resembled a pager. And only almost 12 years later, a two-way communication vehicle was created, the principle of which is still used today. However, improvements have been made.

Almost 30 years later, such cars have filled every city on the planet. But they had a significant drawback by that time - frequency limits... They used the same frequency, which over time began to affect the quality of communication.

Thus, in 1947, an employee of Bell Laboratories, Ring - proposed a new method of communication. It got the name cellular communication. That is the coverage area was divided to "cells", and each had its own frequency.

Also this year, the first transistor was created, which led to a decrease in the size of telephone sets.

Almost a century later, after Popov's invention, the head of Motorolla, Martin Cooper, made first call by mobile phone to their competitors. The event took place on April 3, 1973. This date is the official birthday of mobile communications.

The first representatives were also large and bulky, but relatively mobile.

After some time, various models of telephone sets began to appear, which became more compact and convenient.

The first Russian cellular telephone appeared in 1957. It was development of a Soviet engineer Leonid Kupriyanov. The device weighed 3 kg and made it possible to do without changing the battery for 30 hours.

Unfortunately, the further history of the development of this device is unknown. It was replaced by the Altai telephone complex, which was used by ambulances for operational communication with the hospital.

In Russia, for a long time, such a development was going on. passively... It was only in 1987, when Gorbachev used a mobile phone to call from Helsinki to Moscow, that development received a boost.

September 1991, marked by the following fact: the mayor of St. Petersburg, Anatoly Sobchak, made a call to the United States using the Nokia 1011 device. This development is presented by Delta-Telecom.

In Moscow, cellular communication appeared after 1992 thanks to the efforts of the companies "Moscow Cellular Communication" and "Ericsson".

The very first touchscreen phone in the world appeared relatively recently - in 1998.

Company "Sharp ", from Japan, presented its model of a wireless touchscreen telephone - PMC-1 Smart-phone to the whole world.

However, the main goal - to knock out competitor Nokia from the mobile phone market - was not achieved. At the same time, Alcatel, against the background of other manufacturers, is launching the device “ OneTouch". Literally translated from English - one touch.

Unfortunately, at that time, both developments did not interest the mass consumer and were soon forgotten.

In 2003 " Nokia»Decides to use a sensor in control of mobile phones. This is how the Nokia 7700 project was born. But due to constant postponements, the model 7710 is presented to the consumer.

After that, many vendors start production of touch devices.

Development of cellular communication

The development of mobile phones is represented not only by models and different brands, but also by the standards of the communication itself.

Initially was the standard NMT-450, which was a joint development of several countries. It appeared at the end of the 70s of the last century. However, this project was closed, and the development of cellular communications at that time was going on actively.

Almost every country began to come up with their own standards that were not related to others. They were also analog, which imposed certain restrictions.

All of the above led to the idea of creating single protocol cellular communication. The result was the emergence of a global standard - GSM. He was developed in 1982, and became world wide over a long period of time.

Literally a year later, the Qualcomm organization began to develop its own digital standard, which later became known as CDMA.

Further development of mobile communications led to the emergence of a third generation protocol called FPLMTS (Future Public Land Mobile Telephone System). Its main difference from the previous ones is getting free access to the Internet. Also present backward compatibility.

Today the standard is the fourth generation protocol, and the fifth is being actively developed.

The first smartphone

The development of mobile phones and laptops led to the idea of combining two products into one. This is how smartphones were created, and then communicators.

The prototype can be developed by IBM - Simon, which was introduced in 1992. However, at that time it was not accepted by the world community, and further research was stopped.

The next step is a joint project HP and Nokia - the 700LX communicator that was released in 1996. It is a hybrid of two models: Nokia 2110 and HP 200LX. However, these were two components working independently of each other.

Therefore, a year later, the Finnish company demonstrates the Nokia 9000 Communicator - a full-fledged device.

In 2000, " Ericsson»Releases its smartphone R380s.

In response, Nokia presents a development with color display... This is the first working model to display information in a color other than black and white. The model was named Nokia 9210. It runs under Symbian 6.0 and was revolutionary at that time. After her, many brands began to produce phones with OS.

After that, the market experienced an unprecedented rise in the development of smartphones and communicators.

Android and iPhone

Symbian is considered the first OS on mobile phones. It was jointly developed by Psion, Motorola, Nokia and Ericsson and was officially unveiled in 1998. Further developments of the operating system are related to the popularity of smartphones, which were described in more detail in the section above.

However, today, there is two mobile OS that compete with each other: Android and iOS.

The history of the appearance of the first OS originates in the zero years of the 21st century. Unknown Andy Rubin decided to develop his own OS for mobile platforms. He kept his idea a secret, and the result was a shortage of funds. In 2005, Google buys Andy's idea and blueprints, which serves as the starting point for the development of Android. The official presentation of the new operating system took place on July 26, 2005.

In 2007, after the boom in sensor development on phones, Apple unveiled its vision of the iPhone. It was the first device that supported the function"MultiTouch", that is, touching with your finger in several places of the touch screen at once. OS, which was used in the company's devices, was named iOS. The kernel of the system was taken from the sources of Unix-like systems and brought to the end user by the developers.

At this point in time, Android and IOS are the biggest competitors in the mobile operating system.

The telephone was created in the period that was considered the era of the telegraph. This device was in demand everywhere and was listed as the most advanced means of communication. The ability to transmit sound over distances has become a real sensation. In this article, let's remember who invented the first telephone, what year it happened, and how it was created.

Breakthrough in the development of communications

The invention of electricity was an important milestone in the development of telephony. It was this discovery that made it possible to carry out the transmission of information over a distance. In 1837, after Morse introduced his telegraph alphabet and broadcasting apparatus to the general public, the electronic telegraph began to be used everywhere. However, at the end of the 19th century, a more perfect device came to replace it.

What year was the telephone invented?

The telephone owes its appearance, first of all, to the German scientist Philip Rice. It was this person who was able to design a device that allows a person's voice to be transported over long distances using galvanic current. This event took place in 1861, but there were still 15 years before the creation of the first telephone set.

Alexander Graham Bell is considered the creator of the telephone, and the year of the invention of the telephone is 1876. It was then that the Scottish scientist presented his first device at the World Exhibition, and also applied for a patent for the invention. Bell's phone worked at a distance of no more than 200 meters and had strong sound distortions, but after a year the scientist improved the device so much that it was used unchanged for the next hundred years.

The history of the invention of the telephone

Alexander Bell's discovery was made by chance in the course of experiments to improve the telegraph. The goal of the scientist was to obtain a device that could transmit more than 5 telegrams at the same time. For this, he created several pairs of records, tuned to different frequencies. During the next experiment, a small accident occurred, as a result of which one of the plates got stuck. The scientist's partner, seeing what had happened, began to swear. During this time, Bell himself was working on the receiving device. At some point, he heard faint sounds of disturbance from the transmitter. This is how the history of the invention of the telephone begins.

After Bell's demonstration of his device, many scientists began work in the field of telephony. Thousands of patents were issued for inventions to improve the first apparatus. Among the most significant discoveries are:

  • the invention of the bell - the device created by A. Bell did not have a bell, and the subscriber was alerted with a whistle. In 1878
    T. Watson made the first bell for the telephone;
  • creation of a microphone - in 1878 the Russian engineer M. Makhalsky designed a carbon microphone;
  • creation of an automatic station - the first station with 10,000 numbers was developed in 1894 by S.M. Apostolov.

Bell's patent became one of the most profitable not only in the United States, but in the world. The scientist became extremely wealthy and world famous. However, in fact, the first person to create the telephone was not Alexander Bell at all, and in 2002 the US Congress recognized this.

Antonio Meucci: the discoverer of telephone communications

An inventor and scientist from Italy in 1860 created an apparatus capable of transmitting sound through wires. When answering the question of what year the telephone was invented, you can safely call this date, since the true discoverer is Antonio Meucci. He called his "brainchild" a telelectrophone. At the time of his discovery, the scientist lived in the United States of America, he was already aged and was in a very deplorable financial situation. Soon a large American company, Western Union, became interested in the development of an unknown scientist.

Representatives of the company offered the scientist a substantial amount for all the drawings and developments, and also promised to assist in the registration of the patent. The difficult financial situation forced the talented inventor to sell all the material of his research. The scientist had been waiting for help from the company for a long time, however, having lost patience, he applied for a patent himself. His request was not granted, and the message about the great invention of Alexander Bell was a real blow to him.

Meucci tried to defend his rights in court, but he did not have enough funds to fight a large company. The Italian inventor managed to obtain the right to a patent only in 1887, by the time of its expiration. Meucci was never able to exercise the rights to his invention and died in obscurity and poverty. Recognition for the Italian inventor came only in 2002. According to the resolution of the US Congress, it was he who invented the telephone.

The very first telephone in the world was invented over a century ago. Many of us are very accustomed to modern smartphones, and communication at a distance is now commonplace. You can call anywhere in the world by pressing just a couple of buttons. But in the last century, in order to contact each other, people wrote letters and waited for an answer for a long time.

The first phone and its design

The basis for the device of the first device for receiving and transmitting sound was the control devices that create a magnetic field when an electric current passes through them, membranes. And this discovery was made in 1875 in Boston by scientists Alexander Bell and Thomas John Watson.

Communication means existed even in the most ancient times. Signal bonfires, conventional signs, drums, and even imitated the sounds that animals make were used as devices for transmitting information. Therefore, the idea of creating an object that would allow communication at a distance has long been present in society.

In Pskov in the Middle Ages, buildings had narrow tunnels in the walls, with the help of which people transmitted messages. And in the days of Great Rome, the Gallic screamers, standing in a chain, could transmit a message at a speed of up to 100 km / h, thanks to this, the villagers learned about the approach of the enemy for a long time.

In 1789, the French mechanic Claude Chappe put forward the idea of using a chain system for transmitting alerts using special strips and signal lights. For this, towers located throughout the country were used, the devices on which were visible from a long distance. The worker watched the nearest tower and changed the position of the bar accordingly, thus transmitting the signal further.

American Page was the first to use electricity as a means of transmitting information. Later this idea was developed by the scientist from Friedrichsdorf Phillip Reis and the American inventor of Scottish origin Alexander Bell with his student Thomas Watson.

Bell patented the telephone in the United States on February 14, 1876, and on March 10, the first transmission of information was already passing through it.

The invention of the first electric telephone

The principle of operation of an electric telephone was outlined in his qualification work for the award of a scientific degree and a master's degree in mechanical engineering Charles Bursel, it was he who first used the term "telephone". His work on the idea of transmitting information was based on the properties of electricity, but the scientist was not lucky enough to bring his discovery to life.

In 1860, in the United States, the Italian inventor-engineer Antonio Meucci, based on the research carried out, created a device with which it was possible to transmit signals through wires, calling it a telelectrophone. Western Union took advantage of the poverty of a little-known Italian. After promising to help in the registration of the patent, the company bought out all the drawings of the device. But after the deal was completed, the company happily left the inventor with a nose. Meucci's telephony patent was refused.

Bell Graham declared himself the creator of the telephone and in 1876 issued a document certifying the exclusive authorship. After a year of court hearings, Meucci was given the lead in creating the device. However, by that time his patent application was no longer valid. Western Union continued to make telephones, and Meucci died without ever getting rich.

In the telephone, which was patented by the American scientist Bell, the ring did not exist, and the connection was established with the help of a whistle. Bell also believed that with the help of a telephone, you can establish contact with the afterlife.

The first mobile phone model

The first portable telephone was invented in 1973. It was heavy, large and very different from today's models. The battery life was short because the phone was running on only one battery. And the price of such phones was prohibitively high, and not everyone could afford this device.

Martin Cooper - inventor of the cell phone

Despite the fact that all leading companies were simultaneously working on the creation of a mobile phone, Martin Cooper was the first to release this invention to the masses. Outwardly, the device looked more like a portable payphone. The telephone was in the backpack, behind the back, and consisted of a power source, a telephone receiver and a wire.

First phones

Since the release of the phone, which Martin Cooper created, a dozen different types and models have been released around the world, but they are still unwieldy and inconvenient. The first model familiar to us was assembled by the MOTOROLA company. Its weight was about 1 kilogram, and the working time was more than 8 hours in total.

The DynaTAC8000x is the first commercial mobile device for transmitting and receiving sound over a distance. The costs of the MOTOROLA company for the development of this device amounted to more than one hundred million US dollars. This model cost 4 thousand dollars and weighed about 800 grams, in addition, the phone could remember up to 30 different numbers of other phones. However, it took up to 10 hours to charge, and the battery lasted only 60 minutes of talk time.

The next model Motorola Micro TAC, released in 1989, already cost 3 thousand dollars and was the smallest phone in the world. Three years later, the company also released a miniature device, the size of which did not exceed the size of the palm. A little later, the Finnish company NOKIA released the first model of a mass GSM phone - NOKIA 1011.

In 1993, BellSouth / IBM released the first communicator phone that allowed interaction with a computer. And in 1996, the MOTOROLA company released a clamshell phone, it was the first model of this type, which was later called the "frog".

At the moment, the phones are very different from the first models. Nowadays, phones are not only high-tech devices, but also fashion accessories. The famous Apple iPhone 4 DiamondRoseEdition phone costs about $ 8 million. However, there are phones that cost over $ 10 million.

Articles and Life Hacks

It is always interesting to discover the history of things that are so common today that it is difficult to imagine that they did not exist once. It was hard to imagine a world without a mobile phone and the American Nathan Stubblefield, the inventor of the world's first mobile phone.

He was obsessed with building a reliable telephone network in his hometown of Murray, Kentucky. Nathan and his family (wife and six children) lived in extreme poverty, all of their money invested in research. And then one day the work was crowned with success. In his garden, he installed a 35-meter mast, which transmitted speech from one phone to another.

And so, when the first mobile phone appeared, it was a rather voluminous box with an antenna, the size of a manhole. However, this design made it possible to conduct a conversation with more than 5 cell phones at a distance of about 700 meters. Nathan Stubblefield demonstrated this device in 1902 in the central square of the city.

But unfortunately, his dream was not destined to come true. His invention did not receive public approval and did not become commercially successful. His wife left him, and Stubblefield lived the last years of his life as a wandering hermit. Nathan Stubblefield died a beggar in 1928, and was buried in an unmarked grave as a vagabond.

There are about 3.3 billion mobile phones in the world today, and this number is increasing by 20% every year ...

Do you remember how it all began? Everything was for the first time and again! Once upon a time, a person dreamed of being able to communicate at a distance using some wonderful device. Today it is difficult to imagine a modern person without a mobile phone. When the first telephone was released, it immediately became an integral part of our life.

However, at the dawn of telephone construction, mobile devices were not distinguished by sophistication of forms and functionality of content. The first working prototype of a mobile phone was presented in 1973. It was in this year that American engineer Martin Cooper made the first ever cell phone call at a press conference in New York. The progenitor was strikingly different from his descendants. However, judge for yourself.

However, the first-born was not launched into the series.

Production of serial phones

The world's first serial mobile phone was released in 1983, when, by the way, it already existed, but did not release a single device.

It should also be noted that this particular phone was first advertised with the help of a movie in the film "Wall Street" This model was approved by the US National Communications Commission, and for the first time recognized as suitable for commercial use. The use was really commercial, as it was priced at $ 4,000. The phone weighed about a kilogram, worked in talk mode for less than an hour, and it took 10 hours to charge it. But, nevertheless, this did not stop wealthy lovers of technological innovations. The opportunity to always be in touch using a mobile phone impressed the consumer so much that thousands of people signed up to buy it. The first call on this phone was made on April 3, 1983, by its inventor, the same known to us Martin Cooper.

Few people today believe it, but there was another group of devices. Such "mobile phones" were accompanied by a kind of shoulder bag with a huge, in comparison with the current, battery. The battery cable ran to the tube. It turned out to be something like a portable payphone.

A real breakthrough in design and a milestone in the history of cellular communications was the telephone released in 1989. This phone was marketed as innovative, with a flip-up microphone cover on the front. At the time, this phone model was the smallest and lightest. The price of the first "clamshell" has also become noticeably lighter - only $ 3000. Mobile phones continued to be a luxury, and their prices hindered the widespread adoption of mobile communications.

Mobile phones today

Today the situation has changed, unlike that time, mobile communications have become a part of our life. Everyday life makes the colors less bright, and what used to be a luxury is now perceived as a necessary and familiar attribute of a modern person. A glance into history allows you to take a fresh look at familiar things. To truly appreciate the work of people whose dream has become our reality.
