There are several options for using shutdown.exe. For example, you can press Win + R, enter the shutdown / s / t 30 command and click OK.
This command will issue a warning and turn off the computer after 30 seconds.
Another option for using the utility is to call the graphical interface using the shutdown / i command. In the program window, you must enter the name of the computer, select the desired action, the shutdown delay, and also indicate the reason for shutdown and leave a comment. All this data will be recorded in the system log.
You can run shutdown.exe from a command line running with administrator privileges, for example:

You can specify 1 (shutdown), 2 (reboot), 8 (power off) as an argument.
The Win32Shutdown method does not allow you to specify additional parameters, so we will use the Win32ShutdownTracker method, which allows you to specify the shutdown delay, comment, reason code, and shutdown type. Here's what happened:

Automatic shutdown
To conserve power, you can configure the computer to go into hibernation mode when idle. If you are a workaholic and do not notice the time spent at the computer, then using the task scheduler, you can configure the completion of work on a schedule, at a specified time. This command creates a scheduled task named Shutdown that shuts down the computer at midnight every day. The / RL Highest switch means launch with elevated privileges, and / RU ″ System ″ starts the task on behalf of the system, regardless of the presence of a user.
As a result, at 12 o'clock at night, you are guaranteed to receive such a warning.
