How to remove unnecessary applications on android. How to uninstall system apps in Android with and without Root

Much to my surprise, many still do not know how to remove applications from tablets on Android OS. But such things are written in instructions, by the way. I will show you three ways to uninstall apps from your tablet. I already talked about it in another article. Consider removing both the usual applications that we installed ourselves, and the standard system applications, which are not so easy to remove.

The first way is through the application manager

The most standard one, and which everyone uses - through the application manager in Android itself. Go to settings -> applications. And you see a list of programs installed on the device. Choose what you want to delete - and click on the "delete" button.

If you suddenly see a message that the application is in use, press the adjacent "force stop" button, and then delete it. Helps to remove conventional applications which we installed ourselves.

The second way is using third-party applications

Using special applications. For example Root Explorer, Titanium Backup, SystemApp Remover. All similar applications require! Install one of the applications, launch it, and already in it you delete what you want through the built-in application manager. Thus, you can remove applications built into the system or firmware... By the way, many sophisticated file managers have similar functionality.

The third way is through Google Play

Through the Google Play store. It's funny, but many people do not even realize that through the official store you can not only install, but also remove installed applications. To do this, go to the additional menu -> my applications. Again, you see the list. Then you know what to do: choose a program, its page in the store opens. Only instead of the "install" button there will be "uninstall". Suitable for removal applications installed by the user.

An important point!

When you uninstall an app, it doesn't always (almost never) uninstall itself completely. After it, there are files with settings or cache (if it is a game). Therefore, be sure to go through the files after deleting, and manually remove the "tails".

You know how it happens. Run out of space, remove the large toy, and there is no more space. Why? Because that toy only removed 20 MB, and the 1.5 GB cache remained. The cache is in modern games in sdcard / Android / data / obb, in earlier games - sdcard / Android / data.

Over time, some applications, games become unnecessary for the owner. To properly uninstall them, you need to know how to remove the program from your computer without leaving unnecessary files in the registry. The rules are the same for both laptops and desktops. You can uninstall using the built-in Windows tools or third-party utilities.

How to completely remove a program from your computer

Some users think that you just need to press the delete button on the shortcut on the desktop, but this is not true. Removing programs from your computer can be done in several ways, some of them leave invisible files in the system, others completely erase all data. If you do not know how to uninstall unnecessary applications, over time you will accumulate so much "garbage" that problems with memory or system operation will begin.

Correct uninstallation manually or by means of third-party programs will help to avoid this. The most common utilities for these needs are as follows:

  • Uninstall file;
  • Your uninstaller;
  • CCleaner;
  • Revo uninstaller;
  • built-in Windows tools.

Removing programs in Windows 7

One of the most common versions of this operating system has all the necessary resources to completely uninstall files. You do not need to download additional software to remove all unnecessary applications and games. You just need an item such as adding and removing programs in Windows 7. The procedure is as follows:

  • click on the "Start" button;
  • select the "Control Panel" item from the menu;
  • inside you need to find the section "Installation and Removal";
  • choose from the list the application that you want to uninstall;
  • click on it and click on the "Delete" item;
  • wait until the end of the procedure.

Uninstall file

All the official developers leave it to the user to easily and quickly remove their product without any problems. There is a native uninstaller in the program, which, as a rule, is located along with all other files after installation and is called Uninstall. You just need to click on it, agree to uninstall and the file itself will perform all the actions without leaving hidden documents on the computer.

Utilities for complete removal of programs

There is also special software that was created to erase data from a computer, clean up registries, completely remove all components from a PC. The utilities will help you get rid of all hidden, inaccessible files. You can use the following software to uninstall programs:

  • Ccleaner;
  • Uninstall tool;
  • Revo Uninstaller;
  • Unlocker.

How to remove an unnecessary program from your computer

Above, various options were described on how to get rid of unused applications. You yourself can choose any of the ways to remove unnecessary programs from your computer. The uninstall option via the "Start" button is the simplest, but there are also more advanced utilities that open up more options for advanced users. You can not only remove unnecessary programs from your computer, but also work with the registry. Keep in mind that you can only perform these actions if you understand what you are doing. Otherwise, there is a risk of erasing the necessary documents.

Free Uninstall tool

It is a lightweight, simple utility that is freely available on the Internet. The Uninstall tool can be used without purchasing a license. During installation, in addition to the main folder, hidden in other places on the PC appear, and entries in the registry are added. It becomes difficult to delete them manually, because the search does not always find them by name. The utility in question will help you in this matter, it detects all the "tails" that were created during installation. You need to do the following:

  1. Install the software.
  2. Launches the application, in the first window you will see the "Uninstaller" menu.
  3. Select the unnecessary application from the list in the window.
  4. Information about the file will appear, it is possible to delete it forcibly.

How to uninstall a program using Ccleaner

It is a powerful tool for working with the registry, all installed applications, games. Cleaning your computer Ccleaner can be done automatically or manually. The utility is able to collect data from all over the PC and offer to erase specific files. Outwardly, the main window of the program looks like a standard Windows tool. To get rid of unwanted documents, you need to do the following:

  1. Install and open the app.
  2. Select the "Service" tab.
  3. The first item in the menu will be "Delete", in the list you need to select the required line.
  4. Click on the "Uninstall" button, the software itself will perform all the necessary actions, guide the user through the necessary steps.
  5. Keep in mind that you need to click on the above button, and not on "Delete". This feature erases data from the registry, not the application itself.
  6. Then go to the "Registry" window, start scanning.
  7. Clean up any unnecessary entries that Ccleaner finds.

Revo uninstaller

Powerful utility that simplifies the process of erasing data. With its help, you can solve all the problems that may arise in this process. Revo uninstaller is uninstalled as follows:

  1. Launch the software, find in the main menu the icon of the document that you want to erase. Right-click on the line and select "Delete".
  2. First, a preliminary analysis will be carried out, then the uninstaller will be launched.
  3. The uninstall wizard will guide you through several steps, take the necessary steps by selecting the desired uninstall options.
  4. There might be some "tails" left, so go to the "Advanced" section, start scanning.
  5. The report should include all registry entries after the deletion is done.
  6. Click on "Select All" and then on "Delete" again. You don't have to worry about the performance of Windows, only unnecessary data is deleted from the registry.
  7. Do the same in the "Remaining files ..." section.

What to do if the program is not deleted

Sometimes users may face a situation when a non-deleting file or folder appears on a PC. In this case, you will need special applications that remove the ban. Utilities for unlocking files LockHunter or Unlocker are considered popular. These options help to remove the blocking from the desired element, which gives you the message "Unable to delete file". Instructions on how to uninstall an uninstalled program:

  1. Download, install Unlocker, it will immediately appear in the OS context menu so that you don't look for it.
  2. Right-click on a document that does not voluntarily want to go to the trash can.
  3. In the window that appears, you must click on "Delete" and click "OK".

LockHunter works the same way. When you install it, when you right-click on any document, there will be a new line in the menu “What is locking this file?”. When you activate the item, a note will appear in which the path to the document and the processes that prevent it from being erased will be written. To get rid of the document, you just need to click on the "Delete it!" Option.

How to uninstall a program from a remote computer

Sometimes it's easier to do everything yourself than to explain to a person who does not understand the issue. You can remove programs on a remote computer. It will be possible to do this only for users who have experience in handling computers on a local network. Use of another PC must be approved by the owner. To work, you need the built-in WMI utility, you need to do the following:

  1. Press Win + R keyboard shortcut, write cmd.exe to run Command Prompt.
  2. Next, type in wmic.
  3. Next, you need to get a list of what is installed on the remote machine. Write the following: node: computer name product get name - and confirm with the enter button.
  4. You will receive a list and, for example, you need to erase the Klondike game.
  5. Re-type the following from the wmic utility: node: PcName product where name = Klondike call uninstall.
  6. Confirm your decision with the "Y" button.
  7. The deletion message will appear on the screen, and additional parameters will be indicated.

How to uninstall portable programs

There are utilities that do not require installation. They are simply copied to your hard drive and run from the exe executable file. Removing portable programs is completely done with a simple Shift + Delete key combination. If you want to send a folder to the trash, then just Delete is enough (this will leave you the opportunity to restore data if necessary). Such cases do not require additional cleaning of the registry.

What programs cannot be removed from the computer

The main thing in this process is not to get carried away, because you can erase something really important. There is a list of folders that should not be affected by the complete removal of programs. Some data are responsible for the operation of the entire operating system and their overwriting will lead to the inoperability of the computer. You cannot delete any of the following folders:

  • ProgramData - if you do not know what the folder is responsible for, then you should not erase anything from it;
  • Windows - the main folder of the OS, all components of the system are located here;
  • Program Files - installed software, only if you understand what the folder is responsible for, you can overwrite it;
  • Users - user data;
  • Boot - system boot files.

Video: Ways to uninstall programs

This can happen to anyone - when trying to uninstall an application, it turns out that it cannot be uninstalled. Moreover, in this case, we are not talking about a built-in application in the firmware, which cannot be deleted without root rights, but about the most common one, which you installed on your device.

For example, some time ago we talked about that, and there we showed an application called Volume Unlock, thanks to which you can turn on the device by pressing the volume up button. During operation, the application receives administrator rights, so there is no easy way to delete it. And here's what it looks like - let's show it clearly.

We go into the settings and find the "Applications" section.

Here we see a list of applications. Choose the one you want (in our case - Volume Unlock).

And what do we see? That's right, the "Delete" button is inactive.

If you are faced with a similar problem, it does not matter, it can be solved. To do this, go to Google Play and type in the search the word "uninstall" (without quotes) or uninstaller. Select an application from Rhythm Software and install it. This is an extremely small free application that does not even require additional rights.

After installing the application, open it and see a list of all installed applications. Select the one you need by tapping on it once, then click on the "Delete selected applications" button located at the top of the screen.

We agree with the removal and see a window in front of us, in which it is written: “It is impossible to remove the package, because it is selected for device administration. " Click "Administration Settings".

A window opens, in it we uncheck the application.

In a new window, disable administration rights for the application by clicking on the "Disable" button.

After that, we get to the application page and see that the "Delete" button is activated.

Click on it and the application is removed.

Of course, this way you can remove virus applications that cannot be removed in the usual way. Root rights are required to remove system applications.

Second way

For this method, we thank the user with the nickname Android, who, in the comments, suggested a less complicated method for removing such applications. He talked about another method that requires USB debugging to be enabled. A user with the nickname Valery said that you can use this method without USB debugging, for which thanks to him. And yet, we show an example with USB debugging - just in case. We advise you to immediately open the "Security" section (see the last three screenshots) and if this does not help, try turning on USB debugging.

Go to settings. Here find the section "About the phone" (or "About the tablet").

After opening this section, it will appear in the settings:

Go into it and put a check mark next to the item "Debugging via USB".

Here you will see a check mark on the application, which is not uninstalled in the usual way.

Just uncheck the box, then click Disable.

The application can now be uninstalled in the usual way.

Mobile device manufacturers often install tons of unnecessary applications on them. And the Android operating system itself is sinful by the fact that it contains a lot of "junk" programs. Fortunately, there are several ways to get rid of these unwanted applications.

Removing third-party applications

Removing non-system programs on Android goes smoothly enough. You just need to go to settings, open the Applications menu and select third-party programs that you don't need. After that, all that remains is to click on the "Delete" button. In a more convenient form, this function is implemented in a program called "ES Explorer". Install "ES File Explorer" on your Android, launch the program and select "Application Manager" from the menu. In the window that opens, you will see all the programs installed on your smartphone or tablet. If you long press on the program icon, the "Uninstall" button will appear.

Thus, you can uninstall applications that were not preinstalled in the operating system initially.

Removing system applications

To uninstall system applications, you need to obtain Superuser rights (the so-called "root-rights"). There are many programs for Android that allow you to get these rights. But you cannot find them on the Google Market, tk. Software that allows you to get Superuser rights, from the point of view of Google, is nothing good and is often used for pirated distribution of Android applications.

Popular programs for obtaining root rights include Unlock Root, Framaroot, VRoot, and Kingo Android Root. The latter application is installed on a computer to which the mobile device is connected via a USB cable. First, the program installs the drivers it needs to work. After that, just press the big "Root" button and restart your smartphone or tablet. Upon completion of these actions, you will have Superuser rights.

Now you need to install a program on Android to remove system applications. One of the most popular programs of this kind is Root Explorer. This application is capable of deleting files that are written in the system / app directory. Often, system applications located in this folder, in addition to the file with the .apk extension, have another file with the same name, but with the .odex extension - you need to delete both the first and the second.

Remember that rooting will automatically void your warranty service. If your mobile device fails, no service center will take it under warranty.

The user of a new Android device, regardless of the manufacturer, discovers preinstalled programs that he will never use, but cannot delete. In this article, we will tell you how to remove unnecessary applications on Android in order to rid the system of useless "garbage".

Application types

OS Android, as you get it on a new device, contains applications that can be divided into several large groups:

  1. Custom... Everything is clear with this category. It includes programs that are installed and used by the user of the device. They can be removed, updated, reinstalled at any time.
  2. Manufacturer-installed or factory-installed... Present at the time of device purchase. The user can update them, but cannot delete them without root rights.
  3. Systemic... These include Google services and standard Android programs. Applications in this category must not be uninstalled without risking damaging the operating system of the device.

Root

The term root or superuser came to Android from Linux. In this OS, this is how an account is designated, the owner of which has the rights to perform any operations, including with system partitions. There are more than 30 ways to obtain administrative rights for Android. They differ depending on the manufacturer of the device, the processor installed, and even the OS version. On smartphones of the same brand, for Android 5.0 and Android 6.0, these can be completely different procedures. For example, for Meizu MX 4Pro, which runs on Android 4.4.2, it all comes down to a banal registration on the manufacturer's website, during which you accept an agreement on responsibility for your actions.

For this reason, we will not dwell on obtaining root rights, implying that you will find a way for your device. We have a separate article for this.

Required programs

It is painless to uninstall built-in applications, it is safer with the use of third-party programs. You can download them from the Google Play store after gaining administrative access to the device.

ES Explorer

After installation, in order to provide full access to the file system of the smartphone, you will need to enable root explorer in the settings.

The next step is to directly remove the interfering applications. Let's use a file manager with administrative rights to go to the system partition / system / app. It stores all installed programs in the form of apk files.

A long press will bring up an additional menu at the bottom of the screen and the position of the selection near the application icons. At this stage, using your administrative rights, you can remove previously unremovable programs, including those related to Google services.

The system will warn you about the irreversibility of these actions. Confirming the choice, you will use your root-rights. Any action performed with their use is perceived by the OS as absolutely correct, so be careful and remove really "unnecessary" applications.

This program can not only clean the system, but also remove standard applications on Android, after you grant it the appropriate access. The choice fell on CCleaner due to the fact that it has versions for all popular operating systems, and is familiar to users. The program implements the ability to clear the software cache and batch delete.

Using the built-in application manager, you can disable or uninstall them as you see fit.

When working with system services, you will receive a warning. Every program that uses root access when working with files related to Android will warn about caution.

The warnings issued by the system give the time it takes to make sure that the actions are being performed correctly. Having the ability to uninstall applications that are not otherwise uninstalled, the user must be careful and careful not to cause critical changes.

Another free manager specially designed to work with the system after obtaining root rights. Its main purpose, unlike the previous programs in our review, is to remove applications built into the device by manufacturers.

As you can see, the Jumobile functionality allows you to perform all kinds of operations. By moving the embedded applications to the memory card, you can free up space on the device without deleting them.

Attempting to uninstall Facebook Lite pre-installed on the system brings up a familiar warning about a possible violation of the integrity and stability of the system.

A useful feature implemented by the Jumobile developers is the ability to batch work with deleted files. The choice can be made alphabetically or by the date of installation in the system, as it is more convenient for the user. By ticking the boxes to be uninstalled the program, you confirm that you understand the consequences of the actions performed and clean the device from the "garbage" in it in one click.

Finally

The ability to clear the smartphone of the bonuses that manufacturers impose is always present, in every version of Android, on any device of any brand. The main concern of the owner will be getting root access and choosing a program with which these actions will be performed.

Recall that getting root access is considered by manufacturers as an action that removes the device from warranty service. No one will refuse to repair if the protective glass is broken on a rooted phone, but if the malfunction becomes a consequence of the fact that native applications or services have been removed from the device, the case is not recognized as a guarantee. Therefore, before performing any changes or modifications to the smartphone software, make sure that this does not damage the operation of the operating system.
