How to sync calendar with google. Synchronization of Yandex calendar and to-do list between computer and other devices

It was explained how to synchronize contacts, incl. using Yandex services. But in addition to working with contacts, it can be very useful to set up calendar synchronization. Thanks to this, you can have your up-to-date schedule on all your devices and thanks to this you will not miss an important event or meeting. Now we will tell you how to synchronize the Yandex calendar in such a way that you can work on the road not only with calendar events, but also with the to-do list. On the Yandex website, this to-do list is available for editing in mailbox, while the calendar is located on separate page. However, both of these resources are stored in the same account, and can be used on mobile devices when synchronized.

Technical tools for synchronizing your calendar and to-do list

Calendar entries and tasks are synchronized in the same way that contacts are synchronized. Newer data at the time of synchronization is stored on the devices, and thus up-to-date information is maintained everywhere. If the CardDAV server is usually used for contacts, then for the calendar and the to-do list there is its counterpart - the CalDAV server. As you might guess, the three letters Cal are short for the word Calendar. And such a server is publicly available on Yandex websites. And of course, if you want to use local synchronization, avoiding public servers, then the Baikal server mentioned in the last article allows you to create CalDAV accounts and synchronize them over the network.

Calendar entries do not contain a wide variety of fields. Therefore, they usually do not have such a problem as with contacts - the problem of partial incompatibility on different systems. Android smartphones are the only stumbling block - they don't have tools for working with tasks as standard, and there is also no tool for synchronizing via a DAV server. Therefore, for android, you will need to install additional software.

Having account on Yandex, you can use the network calendar and tasks using the following software:

IN Windows system you can work in the emClient application, given that it synchronizes, among other things. and contacts. If you do not need contact synchronization, then you can use the completely free one, which, thanks to the Lightning extension, allows you to work with common calendar and tasks.

iOS devices are able to work with the CalDAV server by default, so the introduction of special calendar programs for them is not needed.

For smartphones and Android tablets no completely free solutions. Existing demon paid application CalDAV-Sync Free does not sync the task list. For such synchronization you will need to purchase an inexpensive paid version this program and use it in conjunction with the free OpenTasks application from the same author. The second option is to use another paid DAVdroid app that syncs both the calendar with to-do list and contacts. And you still have to work with the task list in the OpenTasks program, since the standard Android calendar does not display the task list. All of the above programs are available in the Play Market.

In any modern browser you can work with Yandex calendar directly through the web interface. Unlike the contact editor, the web version of the Yandex calendar has full functionality and is quite convenient to use.

Connecting a Yandex account on a computer

If you are using mail application emClient, the procedure for setting up Yandex synchronization for this program is described in the previous article (link at the beginning of the article). If you want to use Mozilla program Thunderbird, then to use the calendar synchronization feature, you will need to select the main menu item "File / New / Calendar".

The next step is to select the “Online” option.

We indicate the CalDAV server type and its URL – https://caldav.yandex.ru/

At the final stage you will need to specify a name.

As a result, the account will be ready for online update.

During the first communication session with the server, you will be asked for a login and password to log in.

As a result, all information received from the server will be displayed in the local calendar and task list. You can open them through the “Events and tasks” menu.

Setting up synchronization on smartphones and tablets

On iPhones and iPads, connecting a calendar account is carried out in the same way as adding an account for contacts. This is done in the "Settings" / "Calendar" section. In the window that appears, select Accounts / Add Account / Other / CalDAV Account / . You will need to provide login information to the server.

On an android system, you need to use additional applications. If you have synchronized Yandex contacts using the DAVdroid program, then through the same program you can synchronize the calendar and to-do list. It is enough to check both items in the CalDAV window in the account settings: “My events” and “Do not forget”. After updating the data over the network in standard calendar android, all events from the Yandex calendar will appear.

But to access the to-do list, you will need to install it from the Play Store free application OpenTasks. This application was created by the author to work in conjunction with the inexpensive CalDAV Sync application. But it also works well in conjunction with the DAVdroid application.

conclusions

Using free public servers Yandex allows you to synchronize your calendar between your PC and other devices - smartphones, tablets, and other computers. You can also work with this information through the web interface - all changes made will be saved on devices by synchronizing your Yandex account. Thanks to this, you can significantly increase your level of personal organization. After all, now you don’t have to be at the computer to work with your tasks and schedule. And vice versa - it is not necessary to edit the information on small screen smartphone. It’s much easier and faster to do this on a computer – and it will update automatically on your smartphone.

Hello, Habra residents!

I've been keeping a calendar for quite some time now. Google Calendar. It seemed to me practical, because you can work with it using your phone, web interface and many applications.

But recently, in addition to the personal calendar, it became necessary to maintain a working calendar of meetings in parallel, which was maintained locally using Thunderbird / Lightning. This flagrant injustice upset me, so I decided to combine the maintenance of all calendars in the usual way for me - using any device connected to the Web.

So what is in the input:

  • Personal calendar in Google Apps
  • Work calendar in Lightning
As a result, you need to get two different calendars, which can be managed using Lightning, Google Apps and a phone on Windows Phone 7.

Details and needed crutches - under the cut.

Create and combine calendars in Google Apps
First, we need to register for the "work" address Email new account Google entry(not Gmail). The easiest way to do this is from the Google Calendar page. This is done by by and large, so that the people you invite to meetings receive notifications from the “work” address.

After that, you need to grant access to this calendar from your Google Apps account. This is done as follows:

Then enter your email address Google mail Apps, and give yourself full access.

After adding this calendar to the Google Apps account, we will be able to manage two calendars at once from one account.

Adding Calendars to Lightning
There are two ways to add calendars to Lightning. The first way (also easy) is to install the Thunderbird add-on. The calendar address is taken from the same page where access to the calendar was opened.

The second way is even easier. Use CalDAV. To do this, when creating new calendars, you should specify a path to them like: www.google.com/calendar/dav/%your Google ID%/events. Access is carried out using the https protocol.

After adding Lightning calendars will display them.

And, most importantly, we synchronize everything with Windows Phone 7
To do this, you need to connect your Google account on your phone. This is done in the “Settings → Mail + accounts” item.

Now, actually, the most important crutch. From the phone, or from any browser that allows you to change the User-Agent to "telephone", go to http://m.google.com/sync/.
Google may throw an error saying: Google Sync doesn't work on your device. This can be treated by clicking on the “Change language” link and selecting English.

Settings must be changed for the Windows Phone device.
Here checkbox "we select the calendars that need to be displayed on the device. Obviously, you can choose not only our "working" calendar, but any one that you are subscribed to.

After which on Windows device Phone should be deleted and a Google account created again. After synchronization, all calendars selected in Sync will be displayed in the calendar settings.

Gone are the days when switching between platforms was a long, complicated process that we all tried to avoid. Modern digital life has become much simpler, now, thanks to the implementation cloud systems data storage and other useful tools, which you can use everywhere, migration becomes easier.
Of course, one of the most popular transitions is from iOS to Android. We already showed you, so it's time to solve one more important point - the calendar!

Use Google
Want to import your calendar manually? You are welcome, although it has become unnecessary in our time. You can take care of everything with the help of the cloud, which makes it very easy to transfer contacts from any iPhone, as well as a calendar.
1. On your iPhone, go to the “Settings” section;
2. Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars";
3. Select your Google account (if available on your phone, if not, add);
4. Go to the "Calendars" section and switch the toggle switch to On. (On);
5. This solution will allow you to synchronize all calendars automatically. Ready!

What about iCloud?
Some of you may not even store your calendars directly on iPhone, instead they may be stored on iCloud. If so, you have to do some manual manipulation, but it's still simple:
1. Go to the "Settings" menu and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" (Mail, Contacts, Calendars);
2. Select "Add Account" or log in to your account iCloud recording;
3. Let your iPhone sync local files calendar from iCloud;
4. On your computer's web browser, open www.icloud.com and sign in to your iCloud account.
5. Click the calendar icon to open the calendar interface;
6. On the left panel, click the "Share Calendar" button next to the calendar you want to export;
7. In the pop-up message that appears, check "Public Calendar". Copy the sharing URL that appears below;
8. In a new browser tab or window, paste the copied URL;
9. By inserting into address bar browser new URL, replace "webcal" with "http", click Enter key to open the address;
10. Your web browser will download the file with the set random symbols as the file name. This file is a copy of your calendar entries from iCloud;
11. Save the file to a convenient folder on your computer. For convenience, you can rename the file and add the .ics extension (for example, calendar.ics);
12. Open and log into Google Calendar in your computer's web browser;
13. On the left panel Google interface Calendar click on the menu arrow on the right side, select "Other Calendars" (Other Calendars);
14. Select Import Calendar;
15. Select the exported calendar file that you downloaded from iCloud and renamed (if you did). You can also select the target Google calendar (if you have more than one) in the same dialog box;
16. Click the "Import" button to download the file. Once the import is complete, you should be able to see the imported entries in the calendar web interface. New recordings will also be synced with Android devices.
This method provides an easy way to transfer data from iCloud calendar to your Google account. However, this is a one-sided decision. You will not be able to sync iPhone and Android calendars, which means that if you add/remove entries in your iCloud calendar, the changes will not be reflected in the Google calendar unless you repeat the export-import process again.

Third Party Applications
There are a huge number of applications that promise to transfer contacts between different platforms, and they probably will, but I remain a fan of just one. Let's get a look:

SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar
version: 1.8.9 (downloads: 166)

The second method works great if you plan to completely abandon the iPhone world and move to Android world. But, if you are going to use iPhone and Android devices, you better have a method to sync calendars between the two phones and other devices.

Luckily, there's an app called SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar by Martin Gyde. It allows you to connect iPhone and Android to instantly sync calendars from iPhone to Android, but not vice versa. You don't have to export, download files or import anything using web interfaces. Just install the application, configure it and everything will work as you wanted.

You can download the app from Google Play Store for 86.29 rub. In my opinion, reasonable price for smooth and seamless syncing of your iPhone calendar to Android devices.
To use the app, first set up your iCloud account on your iPhone and let create backup copy calendar in the cloud.

After that, launch SmoothSync on your Android device and sign in to your iCloud account in the app.
Then select the calendars in iCloud that you want to sync with your Android device's calendar. Once the connection is active and properly established, and as long as iCloud remains active on your iPhone, any changes you make to iPhone calendar, will be automatically reflected on your Android device.

Conclusion
We live in a fast-paced world where changing to something new can be daunting due to a huge amount troubles and accompanying solutions, but today we showed you that the process is not so difficult. In fact, many of us find that switching from one device to another has become a fairly simple process.
No excuses, guys. Do you want to go to wonderful world Android? Just do it! The process only takes a few minutes, during which you will have access to the calendar on your new Android smartphone.
