This situation is very familiar to content managers, or people who deal with the placement of graphic elements. What to do in this case? Preparation for processing

To do this, open the Adobe Photoshop graphics editor, click "File", "Open", and select the image for which we want to make a transparent background (or right-click on the desired image, go to the "Open with ..." menu, and among the list pre-installed programs, select Adobe Photoshop).

Working with the Magic Wand

It is located, as you may have guessed, on the side toolbar (if you have not changed the assignment of hot keys in Adobe Photoshop, then you can select this tool by pressing the “W” button).

By selecting the “magic wand”, the menu of its settings will become available in the top menu. In the "Tolerance" column, we recommend setting the value to "21". Perhaps these are all the preparations that are needed in order to make the background blurry or transparent (as in our case).

Removing the background

So, we point the “magic wand” at the area with the background that needs to be removed, and click on it with the left mouse button. The area with the background will be highlighted with a dash-dotted line, and all that remains for us is to click the “Delete” button. We repeat this procedure in turn until we get a background that is painted with something that looks like a checkerboard. This means that such an area is transparent.

Saving an image

Please note that you need to save the file exclusively in the .PNG format, otherwise the "transparency" of the background simply will not be displayed (instead of it there will be a white fill).

The article provides a way to get rid of the background by selecting and moving the image to the created transparent file. The selection is made manually with a pen. The lesson is intended for a beginner audience and therefore all four steps are accompanied by detailed screenshots with red explanatory notes.

Step 1. Enlarge an object. To do this, click on the button of the Zoom Tool (Z) and move the cursor over the image. The cursor turns into a plus sign and with each click the image is enlarged. After we work with the image, change the value of the tool at the top of the settings ruler back to Zoom Out and reduce it again with the cursor turning into a minus. The Zoom Tool (Z) button represents a magnifying glass. In this example, we enlarged the image with two clicks, this will be enough to accurately circle the object.

Step 2 Select an object. To do this, click on the Pen Tool (P). Pay attention to the ruler settings at the top.

When hovering over the image, the cursor should turn into a pen. Take point by point to outline the object that you want to free from the background with the pen. The moment the circuit closes, you will see that the object is surrounded by a solid line. Now hover over this solid line and right-click. In the window that appears, select the line Make Selection, that is, selection.

Now let's use the magnifying glass to scale back the object as described in step 1.

Step 3 Create a transparent background. First make a duplicate of the image. To do this, select Image - Duplicate - Ok from the menu.

Now we need to completely select our entire duplicate using the Rectangular Selection tool.

Now double click on the lock icon on the right and OK. With this action, we have unlocked the layer. Press the Delete key on the keyboard. The image has acquired a checkerboard coloration, which means transparency. This is our transparent background, on which we must drag the previous selected image.

Step 4 Move the image to a transparent background. To do this, click the cursor on the desired previously selected image and then click the Move Tool (V) button. We hold down the left mouse, and, dragging the object to a transparent background, release it. The goal of changing the background to transparent has been achieved.

The size of the rubber band tool can be changed using the "[" and "]" keys on the English layout. You will need to resize the tool in order to accurately "erase" the background around the object. If you did everything right, then you will have a "chessboard" around the object - this is the absence of a background, that is, a transparent background.

The last step is to save the image with a transparent background. Saving is standard. In the upper left corner, left-click on "File" (File) in the drop-down list, select "Save as" (Save as). Under the image and the line "File name" there will be a line "file type". In this line you select the format in which the image will be saved. You can choose either the ".psd" format or the ".png" format. It is recommended to use the latest format. After doing this, click "Save". The JPEG format does not preserve transparency.

Now you can use the image without the original background by pasting it into the required document. It should be noted that the rubber band tool is quite difficult for beginners if the hand is not "full" of daily work in this program.
