SuperUser, SuperSu, Magisk Manager

Time is relentlessly striving forward, the Android operating system will soon be 10 years old. During this time, much in this operating system has changed, the methods of obtaining Root and managers of "super-rights" management have also changed. At first it was SuperUser, after the appearance of Android 4.0 and protection in the form of SeLinux, SuperSu entered the arena, now, when many banking applications stop working due to Root rights, the introduction of numerous protections, it is replaced by Magisk Manager!

What is Magisk Manager? What can it do?

In fact, Magisk Manager is an application for the administrator of Root rights, just like SuperSu, but created according to the new realities in the Android world:

In addition to this functionality, Magisk Manager also provides a system of modules!

Modules

With the help of additional modules (, Viper4Android FX. AdBlock), you can significantly expand the functionality of your Android, and most importantly, these mods will not damage the system files, so it works without modifying the system partition (systemless)!

Hello everyone. Good news for EaseUS software supporters - their Partition Master has been updated to version 12.9. The developers have made a number of fixes and improvements, making the program more stable, and also supplemented its functionality with support for operations with dynamic disks. Below we will talk about how to use this program. I already wrote earlier, now I propose to see how its individual functions actually work. But first, about the specifics of EaseUS Partition Master.

EaseUS Partition Master: How to Use

So, EaseUS Partition Master is a functional disk space manager for Windows.

This is an alternative to well-known products such as Acronis Disk Director or AOMEI Partition Assistant, with a classical organization of this type of software, with a user-friendly interface, with a modern format for presenting a software product and a convenient distribution scheme: basic functionality is free, advanced functionality is at an affordable price.

EaseUS Partition Master official page:

It is also a trial, which, in the case of purchasing a license key, turns into one of the more functional editions of the program.

EaseUS Partition Master Editions

EaseUS Partition Master has several editions:

Free - basic;

Professional - with additional features;

Server - Same as Professional, but with Windows Server support and RAID 5 recovery;

Unlimited - the same as Server, but with favorable conditions for purchasing a multi-user license;

Technician - Same as Unlimited, but with tech support and a free lifetime update.

For home use and small craft for providing computer assistance, the capabilities of the Free and Professional editions are quite enough.

EaseUS Partition Master Free Edition features

The main functionality supported by all editions of the program and supplied in the free edition of Free is as follows:

Support for many types of storage devices, in particular, SSD, HDD, RAID, USB drives;

Formation of the structure of partitions on the disk (a full range of operations such as: create, move, merge, resize, delete, assign letters and labels);

Overwriting data until it is completely impossible to restore it;

Formatting partitions in FAT, NTFS, ReFS, EXT2 / 3 file systems;

Recovering partitions;

Testing the surface of carriers;

Cloning disks and partitions;

Alignment of partitions and their accompanying optimization for SSD during other operations;

Converting disks from basic to dynamic (without the ability to operate them and convert back to basic);

Managing the types of partitions on MBR disks - converting primary partitions to logical and vice versa, making primary partitions active;

View full content of sections, including protected Windows technical sections;

Cleaning Windows from temporary and cluttering disk data;

Analysis of the used disk space;

Defragment HDD;

The ability to configure the program with password access;

Automatically shutdown the computer after long-term operations.

EaseUS Partition Master Professional Edition features

In addition to the mentioned basic functions, the Professional edition also provides:

Converting disks from dynamic to basic and vice versa;

Operations with dynamic disks - creating partitions, resizing them, moving, formatting, deleting, cloning;

Transferring the old Windows to another disk;

Converting the style of a disk partition from MBR to GPT and vice versa with the safety of partitions and data;

Create a live disk to work with computers without Windows (or when it does not start).

Let's consider how the individual operations directly take place using the EaseUS Partition Master.

How to create partitions on an empty disk

For example, one of the basic operations for managing disk space is partitioning a new hard disk. To form partitions, click on the unallocated space (Unallocated) on the tabular or visual map of the disk, and on the operation panel on the left of the program window ("Operations") select "Create partition".

Give a name to the section, activate the "Optimize for SSD" checkbox (optimization for SSD, ie alignment of partitions). Set the size of the section by dragging the slider on the visual map (or enter it in the table view at the bottom). Optionally, we can choose a file system other than NTFS, set a different letter for the partition, or choose a different cluster size. As a result, we press "Ok".

By the same principle, we distribute the disk space further: again click on the unallocated area and create partitions.

When all sections are created, click the "Aply" button to apply the scheduled operations.

How to reduce or increase the size of a partition

How do I reorganize disk space? In order, for example, to squeeze a new section between the existing sections, it is necessary to reduce one of these existing ones. It is desirable that the one to the left of the disk card, in this case, an unnecessary process of moving data is not required. Click the partition to be reduced and select "Resize / Move partition" in the operations panel.

On the visual map, drag the space slider to the left until the required amount of space is displayed in the column below "Unallocated Space After:" Next, set the checkbox for optimizing the partition for SSD. And we press "Ok".

To increase the size of one of the sections at the expense of the other, click on this very other section. On the operations panel, click "Resize / Move partition".

On the visual map, pull the slider to the right until the required amount of space is displayed in the column below “Unallocated Space Before:”. Next, let's use optimization for SSD. And we press "Ok".

Returning to the main window of the program, click on the section that you want to enlarge. Click "Resize / Move partition" again.

And pull the slider on the visual map all the way to the right. Optimizing for SSD. We press "Ok".

Apply the operation with the "Aply" button.

How to convert a hard drive from dynamic to basic

Converting hard drives from a basic type to a dynamic one is possible by means of Windows itself. But the reverse direction is not provided by the operating system. This functional gap is filled by third-party disk managers, including EaseUS Partition Master. Click on the dynamic disk, select "Convert to basic disk" on the operations panel. And we are waiting for the program to check the file system.

We apply the operation.

A reboot is required to apply the operation.

How to convert disks from GPT to MBR and vice versa

A disk partition style converter from MBR to GPT and vice versa from GPT to MBR is a must have functionality of any disk manager. The modern market demands more from this type of software - the ability to convert not only disks with user data, but also those with Windows. EaseUS Partition Master is able to convert styles of disk partitions without having to reinstall the operating system. In our first case, we have an EFI system with a typical structure - an NTFS "Recover" partition, an EFI partition with FAT32 and a 16 MB MSR partition. To convert a hard disk from GPT to MBR, in the program window, click on the disk to be operated on, select “Convert to MBR” on the operation panel.

And during the reboot, we enter the BIOS to set the Legacy or compatibility mode. After loading in Legacy mode, we will again briefly get into the EaseUS Partition Master window. The program will complete its operations and boot from the MBR disk.

Another example: converting a disk from MBR to GPT. We have a test system on an MBR disk with a typical structure - partitions "Reserved by the system" and system C. To convert a hard disk from MBR to GPT, in the program window, click the disk being operated, and select "Convert to GPT" on the operations panel.

The planned operation shows us the future structure of the disk: between the "System Reserved" and the system C partitions, a new 300 MB EFI partition with the FAT32 file system will appear. Click on "Aply".

For a long time, computers have entered our lives and have penetrated almost all spheres of human activity, even at home many people have several computers. For example, one computer may be with a child and is intended for study or games, the second PC may be used for work.

What can we say about commercial firms and enterprises in which the number of computers can be counted in hundreds or even thousands. For remote control of one computer or administration of a whole fleet of machines, there are special programs for remote control of computers, one of which we will consider in this review.

LiteManager is a complex of programs for remote control of computers, a distinctive feature of which is the presence of two versions: the full version of LiteManager Pro and the free LiteManager Free. You can download the program and find a full description on the official website www.litemanager.ru.

The free version of LiteManager Free has the basic functions of LiteManager Pro and provides the ability to manage 30 computers for free, with minor restrictions. The license of the free version of the program allows both individuals and legal entities to install it, this is one of the main advantages of this program.

Remote computer control

Let's consider the features of LiteManager and the difference between the free Free version and the full Pro version.

The program consists of the client and server parts - Viewer and Server, respectively. LiteManager Viewer client part is installed on the administrator's computer, LiteManager Server modules are installed on remote machines. The installation process is standard, no special operations are required. At the end of the installation of the server part, you need to enter a password, you can also use the Windows NT authorization system. To connect to a remote workstation, you only need to enter its IP address and the set password.

The program has a user-friendly interface entirely in Russian.

LiteManager main window

For the convenience of administration, in the main window of LiteManager Viewer computers are displayed in the form of informative thumbnails of remote desktops, by which one can judge the current state of the computer.

The Modes tab contains the available remote access modes, just select the desired operating mode and click on the computer in the list. The Groups tab displays a list of connection groups for easier navigation through the list of computers. You can change the location of the tabs as you like, or hide them if necessary.

The list of connections can also be displayed in the form of a topological map, where computers can be arranged in any order, additional objects can be added such as a scanner, printer, modem, etc.

Network map

The main and most important connection mode is Remote Desktop Connection. The remote computer is controlled in real time: all actions of the mouse and keyboard are instantly transmitted to the remote computer. The remote computer control window remains fully interactive, you can use the usual Drag & Drop functions, switch between computer monitors, lock the screen to hide your actions from the remote user.

Remote desktop control

When connected to Window 7, the program does not disable the Aero graphical shell, but if you wish, you can enable automatic disabling of Aero in the LiteManager settings.

The program provides access to the file system of a remote computer with the ability to copy, delete and run files.

File manager

The built-in task manager will allow you to manage the processes and services of a remote computer. Outwardly, it is similar to the standard Windows Task Manager.

Task Manager

LiteManager implements the ability to connect to the system registry of a computer with the functions of creating, deleting or editing data. It is possible to import and export registry keys.

Registry editor

Using the built-in chat, you can communicate with remote users. It is also possible to send a simple message that will appear on the screen of the remote user in front of all windows, which will attract his attention.

Text chat

Note that the program also implements the capabilities for managing the computer's power. These are the functions of shutting down, blocking or restarting the computer. Telnet connection to a computer, device manager that generates a report on installed software and hardware, screen recording on a schedule, allowing you to control the user's work throughout the working day.

For deploying LiteManager in a large network, there is a remote installation option.

Remote installation

With this tool, you can quickly update the program to a new version, stop or start LiteManager Server. If necessary, you can pre-configure the distribution kit of the installed program and specify the required settings for LiteManager Server.

A situation often arises when a remote computer is behind NAT, has a dynamic IP address, or is on a different subnet of the enterprise, so direct access to it cannot be made. For this case, the program uses a number of technological solutions that allow remote control of such computers.

The Connect via server function allows you to cascade LiteManager Server in a chain and gain access to a server located in a different subnet.

Cascade connection diagram

Setting up a cascade connection

The Connect Back function allows LiteManager Server to initiate a connection to the LiteManager Viewer. In this case, you need to specify the IP address of the LiteManager Viewer client module, and after connecting, you can work with LiteManager Server as if it were directly connected. This function is intended for connecting LiteManager Server, which do not have a permanent IP address or which are behind NAT.

Creating a reverse connection on the server

On the client side, in the LiteManager Viewer, you must enable accepting incoming connections. Incoming callback notifications will be displayed automatically, after which you can accept or reject the connection. In addition to manually answering the request, you can enable the option to automatically accept incoming connections.

Setting up a reverse connection on LiteManager Viewer

A separate solution in the program implements the ability to connect without using a permanent IP address, using an arbitrary ID. NoIPServer application communicates between LiteManager Viewer and LiteManager Server using ID, while both Viewer and Server may not have their own IP address and be behind NAT.

Connection diagram via NoIPServer

Configuring NoIPServer

To work through NoIpServer, just run it on a computer accessible to both LiteManager Viewer and LiteManager Server. After that, on LiteManager Server, you need to create a reverse connection to NoIPServer, specifying your ID, and on LiteManager Viewer, add a new connection to NoIpServer specifying the ID of the required LiteManager Server.

For a more detailed description of these functions and instructions on how to use them, refer to the help system of LiteManager.

We have reviewed the main features of LiteManager.

The free version of LiteManager Free limited only a few features that most users do not need in their daily work, so you might not even notice their absence. The limit of 30 available computers can be easily increased by purchasing a license key. The cost of 1 license of the program is 300 rubles, in comparison with other analogs one of the lowest.

The program has more than 10 remote access modes, additional functions have been added for working in networks with a complex structure, and the program interface has remained intuitive and user-friendly, so it will be easy and convenient to work with the program. All data is transmitted over the network in a compressed and encrypted form.

Free version of the program LiteManager Free is suitable for both home and commercial use, so LiteManager Free can be considered one of the optimal solutions in the field of remote computer management.

One of the most convenient file managers designed to work with files and folders on disks, primarily through the keyboard. This increases the speed and convenience in various operations with objects (copying, cutting / moving, etc.). Outwardly, it is very reminiscent of the once popular Norton Commander system, which at one time was on almost all machines up to the advent of Windows. Those who are nostalgic for the "nineties" will be pleasantly surprised! Now, about everything in order and in more detail.

Russification Far Manager

If you are not satisfied with the fact that the program offers to use the interface in English by default, activate the Russian language. Click on F9, then, in the horizontal functional panel that appears at the top, click "Options" then open "Languages" and there select our language. Now, Far Manager will be completely in Russian.

Select disks / drives

If several hard disks are installed on your machine at once, then you can select any of them to work in Far Manager by pressing the key combination Alt + F1(select a drive in the left pane) or Alt + F2(select a drive in the right pane). It is worth adding that Far Manager, in addition to the main hdd connected to the machine, also fully works with any external drives, and even with network drives.

File operations (copy, cut / transfer, delete, search)

The main operating window of Far Manager consists of two windows / panels. This is done for greater convenience so that the user does not have to get confused by constantly opening different directories in the same window.

Copy, move / cut. To carry out any of these file operations, first, go to the right panel (key TAB) and open the desired folder there where you ultimately want to copy / move objects. Then, go back to the left panel (using the same key TAB) and find the files you need to copy / move in the folders. Highlight them with the buttons "Insert" or "*" (an asterisk on the numeric keypad) and press any of the buttons ( F5- "Copy", F6- "Transfer / Cut"). Do not forget to confirm the operation with the key Enter.

Deleting files / folders. To delete objects, open the corresponding folder, select (mark) all the necessary files in it and press the button F8"Removal".

Search for objects. To search for folders / files in all directories of your hard disk, use the key ALT + F7... Click it and enter the desired name for the search, as well as (if necessary) set additional search parameters.

Below in the screenshots, a more detailed list is presented main function keys in Far Manager.

Main function menu

The main functional menu in Far Manager is located in top horizontal panel... It is initially hidden. To access it, click F9, select any of the tabs and the options found in them.

Additional function menu

To access additional functions for working with folders / files in Far Manager, press and hold button ALT... The list of functions will be displayed in the lower horizontal panel of the manager.

Sorting files in Far Manager

For more convenient finding and working with objects on the drive, you can use the object sorting function, which has many parameters. Open some folder and press while holding CTRL to select any of the functions to sort.

Working with file archives

To work with file archives, Far Manager also has special functionality. To call these additional functions, press and hold Shift... Then in horizontal menu bottom, also select the one you need from the options.

Working with FTP

Far Manager supports data transfer via this protocol. To create / activate a ftp connection, click Alt + F1 or Alt + F2(depending on which panel you are in) and select the option "Netbox"... If you have a ready-made connection, it will be highlighted in the list on the panel. Hover over it and click Enter... If there is no ready connection, then click Shift + F4 to call the connection creation settings. You just have to select the type of protocol and enter the correct values in the required options.

Console (command) line

The Far Manager also has such a function. Through the console line, you can perform various operations through special program commands. For example, copying files from disk to disk: " C: \> copy test.txt d: \ test.txt "etc. But people who are versed in programming will be able to use the console's capabilities and much wider!

These are, in principle, all the main points for working with this file manager. As you can see, there is nothing really difficult!
