How to install a satellite dish mts. How to set up satellite TV mts

Watching TV is fun. This requires not only good transmission or movie, but great quality Images. Cable TV It does not operate everywhere, so today there is an alternative that provides the opportunity to view many broadcast channels even in the most remote corners of the country. So you can watch satellite TV and enjoy beautiful picture. Due to the variety of providers, it is possible to choose a suitable operator. How to set up satellite TV from MTS will be independently discussed in this article.

For installation and configuration satellite television in the MTS system, attention and certain knowledge are independently necessary, otherwise the equipment can be damaged. First you need to check the connectivity, that is, determine whether your region is included in the coverage area, and also if there are any obstacles for mounting the antenna, for example, a tall tree or a house. In addition, before you install and configure the antenna, you need to make sure that you have purchased a kit with all the necessary elements.

So, setting up MTS satellite TV includes the following steps:

  1. Choose a mounting location satellite dish where it will have a direct line of sight to the satellite.
  2. Assemble the antenna according to the instructions that come with it.
  3. Mount the equipment mounting bracket as firmly and securely as possible in the selected location.
  4. Attach the plate to the bracket according to three parameters: turn, turn and tilt.
  5. Connect the MTS set-top box and set up satellite TV using the installed mobile application online.
  6. Check the signal strength in the Antenna Settings on the TV.

On this, the do-it-yourself setup of MTS satellite TV is considered complete. If there are any problems, admin will answer all questions. And then read more detailed information connections.

Antenna installation process

Reception quality satellite signal depends directly on the correct tuning of the antenna from the MTS. Just buying a set of devices and materials and putting a plate is not enough. You need to choose the right direction to the satellite, connect the receiver, make certain settings.

First you need to decide on a place. The satellite dish must face south. It is good when the windows face south. The main thing is that there is no tall building or tree nearby that will block access to the satellite. Otherwise, you will need to bring out and install the plate on the roof of the house. Next, bolt the bracket, and the plate itself to it. In this case, it is necessary to use not all the bolts at once in order to be able to adjust the desired degree of inclination angle of satellite TV from MTS. next step is the mount of the converter, which must also be rotated to the desired degree.

Do-it-yourself tuning of the receiver head is considered an important task. The equipment will not work correctly if it is even slightly turned away from the satellite. Set up a satellite dish from MTS yourself in this case possible in three ways. Using a smartphone will help you complete the task with installed application SatFinder, indicating the name of the satellite in which you can calculate the required angles of inclination and rotation. The second way is to use the MTS website in the "Satellite TV" section, then "Settings", and then "coverage map", "Settings Wizard". Last method will help after installing the set-top box in the "Settings" menu. To set up the antenna from MTS as quickly as possible, watch the video with instructions.

Set of MTS TV system devices

The MTS television system, like satellite television of other operators, consists of a certain set of devices and materials. The kit includes:

  • receiving device - this can be a set-top box with a 3G modem for connecting to the Internet, a TV set-top box capable of receiving HD-format signals, and a modular type TV device;
  • satellite dish;
  • converter device;
  • fasteners for mounting the antenna;
  • cable products to the antenna.

When the equipment is fully assembled, you can install the plate and try to set up the system. To do this, you can seek help from specialists or try to do it yourself.

Preparation stage before installation

Before installing a satellite TV system yourself, you need to preparatory actions. These include:

  • locating the satellite using the "SatFinder" application downloaded from mobile service shop;
  • determination of mechanical obstacles in the way of signal reception - it is better to install the dish on the roof so that it can rotate around its axis and reduce the effect of physical obstacles on the signal;
  • implementation of the system configuration.

In addition, you need to prepare:

  • plug connectors;
  • mounting tool;
  • hardware products for fastening antenna elements.

We must pay attention! Experts recommend buying standard set devices and materials offered to customers by MTS. This will make it easier to assemble the system.

Setting the plate

The antenna mounting algorithm is:

  1. In choosing a place to mount the plate. It must be mounted on the wall so that it is possible to freely direct the mirror to the south, since our country is located in the northern part the globe. If the plate is mounted on the roof, then you need to make sure that the view is not blocked by taller buildings and trees;
  2. In assembly. On a flat and clean area, assemble the plate structure, securely connecting the elements to each other, according to the manufacturer's instructions;
  3. In marking the place for attaching the bracket and drilling holes, and in attaching the bracket;
  4. In pinning satellite mirror to the installed fastener. The antenna should not be completely clamped with bolts, as it will have to be rotated to improve the quality of the received signal;
  5. Assembling the converter, aiming the head at the satellite and connecting given element cable with TV set-top box.

Setting up the system equipment

After the antenna tuning is completed and the dish is directed to the satellite, it is necessary to proceed to setting up the TV equipment. To do this, you need to connect the set-top box to the TV using television cable and plug. If the system package includes a cam-module, then you need to insert it into a special TV slot without an access card.

The MTS TV set-top box is independently configured according to this algorithm, you need:

  1. insert a SIM card into a special "socket";
  2. carry out initialization and analysis of the 3G signal until the end of the process;
  3. pass the authorization of the equipment - before the operator receives the originals of the signed documents, the channel viewing service must be opened within 5 days;
  4. create user profile– in the “Access Level” section, age is indicated and an access code is created;
  5. search for TV programs - at the end of the process, a list of found channels should be displayed.

It's important to know! It is better to set up MTS satellite TV under the supervision of a specialist. He will tell you how to properly improve the signal quality and set the channel parameters. You also need to remember that the system authorization is carried out in two ways: through an SMS message or a call to the operator.

Methodology for setting up a cam module

The procedure for setting up this type of equipment is as follows:

  1. Disconnect TV receiver from electrical network;
  2. Insert the element into a special port - before installing the cam-module, you should carefully consider the contacts of the port and connector, they should be easily combined with each other;
  3. Mount the smart chip into the TV module with the side with the code to the sticker with the TV logo;
  4. Connect the TV to the electrical network and make sure from the information on the screen that the system is assembled correctly;
  5. Enable signal reception mode in the formatDVBS2 and tune to the following characteristics to watch satellite channels:
  • satellite name - ABS2;
  • modulation type - DVB-S2, 8PSK;
  • reference / home transponder on the frequency - 11913MHz;
  • local oscillator LNB at a frequency of 10600MHz;
  • set the LNB polarization to a linear-vertical position;
  • set the symbol rate to 45 Msymb/sec;
  • LNB power must be in “on” mode;
  • 22KHz tone should display "on" mode;
  • search option to select "quick" or "network".
  1. To set the TV to home digital MTS channels need to select the mode DVB-C reception signal and do the following:
  • select the search "network" or "quick";
  • set the received signal frequency to 298000KHz;
  • select QAM64 modulation;
  • set symbol rate mode.

Setting the listed parameters will allow you to correctly configure the satellite dish and get a high-quality picture on the screen along with sound. If this does not happen, then you need to call the support service and consult with specialists.

Final part official release satellite platform MTS. Some details about the equipment (we wrote more about the receiver in January), installation and viewing. The product turned out, you see, very, very interesting. But the official start, as we have just learned, has been postponed again (((It is expected, not earlier than the beginning of summer, and possibly later.

3 To form a reliable secure communication channel between the set-top box and the Satellite TV service management platform, the built-in 3G modem works only with an MTS SIM card.

Self tuning antenna

For self setting signal on the set-top box, you will need to correctly set up the satellite dish. We offer you a short guide:

  1. Select right place to install the antenna. To do this, the antenna must be directed towards the satellite, the geostationary orbit of which runs from the southeast to the southwest. If your windows do not face this direction (south, southeast or southwest), installation on the roof of the house is recommended . Mount the antenna on the wall of the house so that it is in line with the direction to the satellite. In order for the reception to be strong, there must be a clear horizon in this direction without obstacles in the form of tall houses or trees.
  2. You can define the direction line in the following ways:
    • Go to the MTS website and in the Satellite TV > Setup > Coverage Map and Setup Wizard section, indicate your address of residence and see the exact direction line to the satellite from your home on the interactive map.
    • With a compass. In the menu of your set-top box in the "Settings" section, find the item "Antenna settings". In this section, you need to choose the city closest to you from the list. After selecting a city, the screen will display a compass with the designation of the azimuth of the angle. With this information, you can find the right direction.
  3. To install the antenna, in addition to the direction to the satellite, you must select the correct elevation angle. As in the previous section, the information on the MTS website in the “Coverage Map and Setup Wizard” section or the information in the antenna setup menu on your TV set-top box will help you determine the correct angle.
  4. After the antenna has been installed and you have connected the equipment, in the set-top box menu in the "Settings" section, find the item "Antenna settings". In this section, you will see an oscilloscope graph showing the level of signal received from your antenna. Rotate the antenna left and right, up and down in the direction of the satellite until a line appears on the oscilloscope indicating stable signal(you will see a green line). When the signal is as strong and stable as possible, fix the antenna.

Authorization

After connecting, the equipment must be authorized. When the unauthorized equipment is turned on for the first time, the GSM signal(availability of the signal in general and access to the data network). After the analysis, available options for equipment authorization are offered.

With any authorization method, before the operator actually receives signed copies of subscriber documents (contracts), the MTS Satellite TV service is available in demo mode (basic channel package for 5 days without the ability to connect thematic packages and additional services ).

A bit of theory. Broadcasting is carried out from modern, recently launched satellite ABS-2, 75 E. Powerful satellite transponders should provide reliable reception on a dish with a diameter of 0.6 - 0.8 meters. For example, the following items from our assortment are suitable inexpensive: Antenna satellite. offset 60-PW d=600mm azimuth , or a proven and reliable antenna satellite. offset SUPRAL CTB-0.6DF-1.2 0.55 telephoto. Let's stop at the first option, since the antenna is very cheap (in wholesale prices from 360! Rub.) And for the experience it will go, for one thing we will check whether an expensive antenna can provide reliable reception. One antenna, respectively, will not be enough, for reception we will also need a satellite converter - if a very simplified receiver with a preamplifier, for receiving a signal from a satellite, and converting it into an intermediate frequency, for further transmission via coaxial cable. Here, of course, there is more choice, but we will focus, for example, on the most popular: Galaxy Innovations GI-211 Ku-band converter, a full range of converters (guns) can be viewed on the website, and prices are in the price list. You also need such little things as a cable (RG-6), connectors (F-connectors) and, probably, the most important thing, a device for setting up a satellite dish. For these purposes, we will use SATFINDER ohm SF-600. The device has a rechargeable battery, sound indication, support for DVB-S2 streams, monochrome display with backlight, and most importantly not an expensive price. So what we got: 1. Antenna SK-60 — 1 pc. 2. Converter GI-211 - 1 pc. 3. F-connectors - 2 pcs. 4. Coaxial cable RG-6 - 10 meters. 5. Device for tuning satellite antennas SF-600 — 1 pc. 6. Open-end wrenches 10 mm (for convenience, 2 are better) and 13 mm by 14 mm for antenna assembly. What it looks like disassembled:

Initially, just carefully and not in a hurry, we will collect our plate in a convenient place, in our case this is the room in front of the balcony. The assembly scheme is quite simple, but if anything, do not hesitate to look at the instructions, where the whole process is shown clearly. To a little surprise, even dowels for mounting it on the wall were included with the plate. We tighten all the nuts well, but without fanaticism, so as not to damage the plate and fasteners. We do not tighten the fastening to the L-shaped wall bracket, it will need to be mounted on the outside on the wall, and the plate angle adjustment nuts. What happened after assembly.

The antenna is assembled, then comes the most important and responsible, fixing the dish to the wall. I just want to emphasize Special attention, during installation, it is necessary to follow the safety regulations when working at heights (whether it be a balcony of a multi-storey building or a private ladder), as well as working with power tools. It is better if an assistant insures you for the first time. There are some doubts left, then it is better to entrust the installation to professionals. We will go further.

Again a little theory, all TV satellites are usually on geostationary orbit near the equator and always have the same position relative to the earth's surface. Since we are in the northern hemisphere, the direction to the satellite is the south side. Those. if your balcony, the windows face north only, easy installation will not work. The antenna will need to be installed on the roof, orienting it to the south. It may also interfere with signal reception. standing side by side tall buildings, trees and other obstacles. Which is very clearly seen in the diagram below:

So we figured out the approximate direction, you need to fix the bracket. To do this, we choose a suitable place, in our case it is a wall next to the balcony. The site should preferably be as level as possible. We attach the bracket, circle the mounting holes with any writing instrument, such as a marker. Further will depend on your accuracy. good setup antennas. We drill holes (in our version it is a brick). The diameter of the drill should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the dowels. For bricks, it is best to use a drill with carbide tips, I had it on hand, but of a smaller diameter than needed. But it doesn’t matter, I drill holes with this drill, and I drill them to the required diameter with ordinary high-speed steel. Next, we carefully hammer in the dowels and fasten the bracket, adjusting it during installation so that our fastening is as even as possible. After tightening the screws, the bracket should be like a glove and not move when force is applied to it. Next, as it were, we put our assembled plate on the bracket. What happened in the photo.

The cable with the converter can be fixed immediately or done later. Slightly tighten the nuts on the fasteners, adjust the angle of the mirror so that it is almost vertical.

Half the battle, so to speak, we have done, the antenna is fixed in the position to the south. But in order to receive a signal from a satellite, we need to navigate to it very accurately. Every millimeter matters. On the Internet there are a lot of ways to do this, there are special ones. programs for calculation and positioning on the map. I'll tell you about mine, in my opinion not the most difficult. I really liked the program for Android smartphones (it's free and can be easily downloaded from Play Store) called SatFinder. We launch the program, select our satellite ABS 2 - 75 E. For accurate positioning, the smartphone must first be connected to GPS satellites, GLONASS (systems global positioning, not to be confused with TV satellites).

As you can see from the screenshots, the program can show the direction in 2 ways: google maps and right in the sky, due to the built-in camera. Also, the program immediately calculates elevation angles and azimuth. We direct the plate in the direction we need. But again, such guidance is very approximate and far from ideal, most likely you will not receive a signal, although sometimes you are lucky. This is where our wonderful SATFINDER SF-600 tuning tool comes into play. Initially, you need to set up the device. Configuration data can be obtained from the Internet. For example, I like the site http://www.lyngsat.com . Some may like other similar resources. The site is in English, but everything is intuitive. We find our satellite ABS-2. MTS satellite TV transponders are easy to find by their special Verimatrix encoding. Note that the configuration data can be taken for any Yamal, NTV +, Tricolor, Telecard satellites. The main data that we need is the transponder number, polarization (vertical or horizontal) and symbol rate. Take, for example, this one.

Transponder No. 11913, vertical polarization (V), symbol rate 45000. The data is entered into the memory of the device, as it looks on it, we look at the photo.

Further, everything is simple, we connect our device with a converter on the antenna, do not be upset if the signal does not go right away. Carefully, literally by a millimeter, we move our antenna, let's say first to the left, then if the signal is not caught, to the right. The device has a fairly good sensitivity, which allows you to hook the signal literally "from the hand", focusing, among other things, on the sound. There was a squeak, you right direction. We achieve maximum level quality. Then, we fix our loose nuts, so that the signal level does not decrease. What happened to us:

Instead of a tuning device, you can use a receiver, they also have level and quality scales. Or take a more advanced device, for example,Device for tuning satellite antennas Dr.HD 1000S, with a built-in spectrum analyzer. The signal level we received during setup is, in principle, sufficient for confident reception. If for your region a platewith a diameter of 0.6 m is too small, the same way you can adjust the plate 0.8-0.9 m.
