How to transfer messages from phone to phone. How to quickly transfer the necessary SMS messages from Android to Android

Very often, for example, when we change the phone to a new one or are just going to reflash it, it becomes necessary to save messages and then return them to another device. So, in this article, we will talk about how to transfer SMS from Android to Android.

The easiest way is to transfer messages using the program from the Play Store. It is called SMS Backup & Restore. Here from the name it is clear what role is assigned to the utility. So, let's take a look at the reservation process. Everything written below will be divided into 2 stages. This, respectively, is the creation of a backup copy and restoration from it.

The method is suitable for almost any platform: this is Android 4, and 5, and 6.0, and higher.

Making a backup

First, let's create an archive of our SMS recovery.

  1. Go to the Play Store app store and search for the program name. Select it from the search results and, after going to the home page, click "Install".

  1. Wait for the end of the installation process.

  1. Now we can launch our application. Click the button indicated in the screenshot.

  1. When the tool starts, you will need to press a single button at the very bottom of the screen.

  1. If access to system data is requested, allow it by tapping on the marked item.

  1. So, let's get to the point. Let's get down to the main task. Click the button that says "Create Backup".

  1. Next, you need to select the location where our backup will be saved. There are 3 options here: Google cloud, Dropbox, and phone storage. We will use, and recommend to you, the first option, since it is the most reliable.

Attention! Do not try to save your data to the phone memory. The fact is that they will be lost during a flashing. And if you are moving to a new smartphone, then you will have to transfer the copy to it.

  1. Here we can select the data to be synchronized. In addition to the messages themselves, it will be possible to save a copy of the contacts. We set the triggers as needed, and click the button marked in the screenshot.

  1. Since the cloud service from Google was chosen as the place for storing our backup, we will need to log in using our Gmail account. Click "Login". Then, when authentication occurs, we tap on "Save".

  1. The program has a backup scheduling function. In other words, you can set up automatic creation of copies of SMS and phone contacts at a specific time. We skip this stage, so we just press the button, which we have circled in the picture with a red frame.

  1. The backup has started. Its speed depends on the performance of your gadget, as well as the amount of accumulated data.

  1. When all files (SMS and phone numbers) have been copied, they will be automatically uploaded to the server. Its course already depends on the quality of the connection to the network.

  1. Ready. We were able to back up all data. Q.E.D. The matter is small - now you need to learn how to restore the saved material.

Recovering from the created database

Let's start recovering the required data.

  1. Launch SMS Backup & Restore and open its main menu by tapping on the icon that we marked in the screenshot.

  1. Here we, of course, need the "Restore" item. And we press it.

  1. We select the medium on which you previously uploaded your messages. We have it Google.

  1. In the same way as when creating a copy, you can restore contacts or SMS separately or together. Set the triggers as you need and press the marked button.

  1. Here we are warned of a slight embarrassment. The fact is that, starting with Android 4.4 (regardless of brand: Samsung, Sony, LG, etc.), the developers forced the operating system to trust only the programs installed by default. As a result, no third-party application can record or delete messages. The situation is solved by installing SMS Backup & Restore as the default SMS application.

  1. This is where we make our backup software the default software.

Important: After the restore is complete, return the default messaging application to its default position. This is done in the application settings. Alternatively, you can simply uninstall SMS Backup & Restore.

  1. After all the manipulations, the data will be copied to the device. Unlike creating a backup, it can take much longer.

  1. When the process is complete, just close the window.

There are many similar programs - there is no point in describing all of them. Otherwise, our already not small article will simply turn into a book.

Ready! Now you know how to copy messages and phone numbers from Android to Android. We will consider another way.

We work through a PC

Consider another, more flexible option, which involves the use of a computer. In other words, we will copy our messages to the desktop and then restore them from there.

Installing MyPhoneExplorer

There are many programs that can cope with this task. We will use the best one. You can download the MyPhoneExplorer application on its official website. Let's get started.

  1. After the installation file is received, run it. A small window will appear in which you need to select the display language of the program. We have it in Russian. Then click "OK".

  1. We accept the license by clicking the button marked in the screenshot.

  1. Next, we indicate the installation path. It is better not to change the default value, but if you, for example, do not have enough free space, do so. When finished, click "Install".

  1. We are waiting for the end of the installation.

  1. We put a tick in front of the launch point MyPhoneExplorer and press the button marked with the number "2".

Connecting Android to PC

Now you can start syncing.

  1. When the program starts, click the pairing button: we marked it in the picture below. The search for our device will begin.

  1. When the phone is found, we will be asked to provide its name. Enter it and click "OK".

  1. After that, the synchronization of Android with Windows will begin.

Export SMS

Now it's time to create the backup itself.

  1. Now, in order to create a data backup, go to the "Miscellaneous" menu item and select "Create a data backup" in it.

  1. An explorer window will open. Specify the directory where the backup will be stored and click "Save".

  1. In order to create a backup, you need to specify what exactly we want to save. Check the boxes depending on your needs and click the button that says "Create a backup".

  1. After that, the copying process will begin.

  1. Done: all our messages from Android are saved on a PC or laptop.

Data import

  1. Go to Google Play and enter the name of the client version of our application in the search box. When the desired item appears in the search results, click on it.

  1. On the MyPhoneExplorer home page, click the "Install" button.

  1. When the installation is complete, run the program. The button is shown in the picture below.

  1. Since we have chosen the method of connection via Wi-Fi, you need to click the "OK" button next to the item marked in the screenshot.

Bluetooth and USB connection is also supported.

  1. We return to the PC again and, having opened our application, go to the familiar menu item, then click "Restore data from backup".

  1. Naturally, you need to specify the path to the file that we have recently created. When finished, click "Open".

  1. In order to start the import process, you need to click the button marked in the screenshot.

  1. Restoration of all marked data begins. We are waiting for it to come to an end.

After buying a new phone, many people have the problem of migrating data from the old gadget to the newly purchased one, and if the new device is also running a completely different operating system, then the problem takes on a serious turnover. Most users find it difficult to copy contacts from the address book, and they are ready to give up trying to copy the rest of the information (like SMS messages), resigning themselves to the fact that it will forever remain in the old gadget.

In this article we will try to answer the question of how to transfer SMS from "Android" to "Android" and to do it most painlessly both for a new phone and for the user himself.

One of the simplest options is when the new gadget is running the same operating system as the old device. For example, you need to export from "iPhone" to "iPhone" or from "Android" to "Android", in which case the migration takes place through the official software that comes with the device.

For iPhones, this is ITunes, Nokia has Nokia Syut, and for Windows platforms, the Microsoft Background service has been developed. Before transferring SMS from "Android" to a computer, the user in such cases only needs to connect his old gadget to the computer and create a backup copy of the data through the official utility, which can then be restored on the new phone.

The entire migration process becomes noticeably more complicated if you need to transfer information from one operating system to another platform. For example, before transferring SMS from "Android" to "iPhone", you need to install several applications at once, and then also register the execution of small scripts in the command line.

Unfortunately, panaceas for full synchronization and subsequent migration have not yet been invented, but overall the whole process has been significantly improved.

Address book and sms

Without "heavy" utilities, it will not be possible to completely transfer all the data. The pre-installed software in the phone is not capable of sensibly exporting contacts and SMS messages. Built-in applications allow you to copy contacts, and only in some cases SMS, to a SIM or SD card. Before transferring SMS to an Android memory card, it is important to know that all information in this case will be truncated: you cannot save messages with any attachments and contact names should not exceed the 8-character limit.

To begin with, let's start with "light" services, which are mainly intended for transferring contacts with a note about SMS migration. They are considered as such because of their simplicity, comprehensibility and accessibility for an ordinary user.

Google sync

One of the easiest ways to export and import data is the Google Sync service. The software perfectly "digests" such platforms as "BlackBerry", "IOS", "Symbian" and other operating systems that support SyncML.

Before transferring SMS from Android to Android or any other device, you need to set up Google Sync on the old and new gadgets, and then start synchronization with the subsequent migration of contacts and SMS messages. There are more than enough reviews of the service on the network, but all of them are mostly in a positive way.

IDrive

The service, developed for storing and transmitting data, "iDrive" has released a lightweight version of "Light" (IDrive Lite) for smartphones on the operating system "BlackBerry", "Android" and "IOS". The application allows you to save your contacts along with SMS messages and, if necessary, restore them, which also implies migration to new devices.

Synkontact

The application allows you to export and import data between the Android and iPhone platforms, and in any combination and in any order. All migration takes place through the software developer's servers, so there is no need to connect phones to each other or connect them to a personal computer.

Judging by the reviews, the service has proven itself well, but before transferring SMS from Android to iPhone, it is important to clarify that the software is distributed under a paid license, so do not be surprised if the basic or trial version turns out to be extremely poor in functionality.

Funambol

An online service that is quite popular among Europeans, which perfectly synchronizes smartphones with each other, and also copes well with tablets and personal computers. The application supports platforms such as Android, BlackBerry, IOS and Symbian. In addition to transferring contacts and SMS messages, the service allows you to migrate your calendar, mail, images and other data.

SynchroNet

"SynchroNet" is specially "sharpened" for certain types of devices and feels great when working with gadgets "Nokia", "Ericsson", "Motorola", "Samsung" and NTS. Before transferring SMS from Nokia to Android, you should clarify that the service allows not only exporting contacts with messages, but also editing data in the phone through its web interface.

The service will easily perform the migration of the aforementioned platforms and models, be it SMS, calendar, note or any other file. Reviews about SynchroNet are quite flattering, so the service can be safely recommended to both beginners and gurus.

Specific services

Below will be announced services that are directly intended for the export and import of SMS messages, as well as other specific data. All of them have earned the vocation of a wide range of users and are very popular among the owners of smartphones and other devices.

After the backup file is created, you can transfer SMS to a new phone. If we take into account all the variety of applications that the SMS Migrator service supports, then we can say with confidence that the software will transfer all your data from the iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian, BlackBerry platforms quite painlessly "And some other exotic operating systems.

SMS Backup +

This service only supports the Android operating system, but has very extensive capabilities. The software allows you to work not only with SMS messages, but also store MMS, call history and personal settings of the gadget.

Although the service is exclusively for Android platforms, the software has received high marks in many specific forums, and judging by the numerous positive reviews, it can be recommended to any owner of a gadget with this operating system.

AppMonster

Quite powerful software designed not only for transferring SMS messages, but also for individual applications that are installed on your phone. Before transferring SMS to a new Android phone along with applications, UpMonster will create a backup copy on the SD card, from which further import takes place.

The trial version has limited functionality, therefore it saves only one copy of the backup data, but after the subscription and purchase of a license, the program's capabilities are significantly expanded, and the number of copies is no longer limited. Users speak very warmly about this software and mark it as a successful solution for resetting memory in an existing device.

MyBackup Pro

Multifunctional utility "MyBackup Pro" allows you not only to transfer SMS and applications to another device, but also perfectly exports photos, bookmarks, mms, calendars, shortcuts, dictionaries, alarms, playlists and other system settings. The capabilities of the program are simply gorgeous and, judging by the feedback from users, it can be recommended to literally everyone who needs data migration.

The shareware version has its limitations, and before transferring SMS from Android to Android, you should definitely get a SD card. If a license was purchased, then the entire migration process takes place through a special online storage, which, by the way, is protected by the latest technology and has an extremely high level of security.

If you are not often engaged in the export and import of information from one device to another, then for a single use, you can use a trial period of 30 days. Supported platforms: Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian and BlackBerry.

MOBILedit

Utility for desktop devices "MOBILEADIT" allows you to transfer SMS messages from "Android" to Mac, "Windows Mobile", "Symbian" and "BlackBerry". The software supports thousands of different devices, synchronizing devices for transferring music, photos, contacts, mms, call history, search, bookmarks and other settings.

Looking at all this rich functionality and compatibility with so many devices and operating systems, it is clear that it cannot be free. Buying a license for the full version costs quite good money, but the owners of devices with "Android" are very lucky - the light version of Phone Copier, although it has more modest functionality, can handle the transfer of SMS messages and contacts.

When buying a new phone, it is sometimes necessary to transfer information from an old mobile phone to it. Synchronizing data does not allow you to save SMS notifications to your account. To transfer them from one phone to another, you can use a computer, special mobile software or wireless modules. Since almost every user has a similar problem, it is useful to consider the main ways of how to transfer SMS from Android to Android.

Storing SMS messages in your phone will help make life easier, make it possible to make and spy on appointments. Before the advent of smartphones, copying text messages from a phone was not an easy task, there was simply no software. With modern devices and special software, this can be done in a few minutes. One of the solutions is to copy the text messages from the phone to the computer, and then transfer it to another mobile phone.

Computer utility interface for sms transmission

For these purposes, the developer has provided a special proprietary utility. Depending on the brand and model of the phone, it may have a different name, but it performs the same functions. You should install the program on your computer, connect your mobile phone and wait for the necessary drivers to be installed. After that, she herself recognizes the device connected to the PC, and a button for copying SMS will be available in the work menu.

Transfer using the MOBILedit utility

If there is no official program on the computer, and it is not known which one will fit, then it is recommended to use third-party software. One of these useful utilities that allows you to quickly transfer SMS is the universal program MOBILedit. Its main advantages:

  • Suitable for working with any phone model.
  • Has a built-in database of drivers for popular devices.
  • Synchronization of data between any devices.
  • Availability of tools for working with cloud data storage.
  • There is a music ringtone editor.
  • Has a special optimizer for phone contacts.

MOBILedit utility interface

MOBILedit has a solid functionality that allows you to use it, including for copying SMS from Android to PC. After they are copied, they should be written back, but into the memory of another mobile phone, you just need to drag the file into the specified directory.

Copying data to MOBILedit

For more details on the properties of the utility, see the video.

Copy using mobile software

If there is no computer with the installed program at hand, then you can cope with the task with the help of mobile software. It is recommended to use the free SMS Backup & Restore app from Carbonite. It will allow you to create an archive of data, which should be transferred to a new mobile phone and unpacked in the opposite way. The application weighs no more than a few megabytes, which practically does not affect the free amount of internal memory.

Algorithm of actions

It is very easy to use the SMS Backup & Restore application to copy SMS-ok. Let's consider what actions need to be performed in stages so that no errors arise:

  • Download and install the program through the Google store - Playmarket.
  • Run the application, click on the "make a data backup" button.
  • Select the area and directory for saving the archive. Available for this: internal memory, external storage or microSD memory cards.
  • Choose what to save specifically: SMS messages, MMS messages or call lists.
  • Wait for the results, then transfer the resulting archive in any way to another Android, in parallel installing the SMS Backup & Restore application on it.
  • Run the utility on a new mobile phone and click the "restore" button. You will need to perform a search and only then start importing data.

SMS Backup & Restore allows users to copy files from phone to cloud storage. You can also send a backup copy by email without leaving the program menu. A small drawback of the application is that it has an incompletely Russified interface. If we consider other similar mobile utilities, then the alternative would be Titanium Backup. But to fully expose this program, you need superuser rights.

Before copying SMS using mobile software, we recommend watching a training video.

Transfer SMS via Bluetooth

You cannot directly transfer the archive with sms via bluetooth. For this, you cannot do without special software. It can be installed as on a computer, by copying the SMS first there, and then transferring it to the new Android, or to the mobile phone itself.

One of the best utilities for transferring text messages from one Android to another is Sms Backup Android Trial. For successful copying, it is installed on both mobile devices, they should also enable data synchronization via bluetooth connection. Having created an archive with SMS, it can be transferred via bluetooth, and in a new mobile phone, the reverse operation can be performed - restoration. It is worth noting that the free version of the utility is launched only a few times, after which it will completely refuse to work without purchasing a paid license.

Typically, a huge amount of text messages, both received and sent, accumulates on a mobile phone over time. It can be just text SMS or multimedia messages containing photos and videos.

What if the user decided to buy a new phone for himself, but wants to keep all the SMS? In this case, it is possible thanks to the flexible settings of the Android operating system.

If the usual copying of data, for example, files and folders in the Android operating system, is carried out in a few clicks, and this does not require the installation of additional programs, then it will be a little more difficult with messages. However, as practice shows, the entire list of actions described can be performed by an ordinary user without any problems!

The transfer of messages is possible only through specialized applications, of which, fortunately, there are quite a few in the service from Google. We will consider several options in this article.

Copy messages by branded applications

Many popular manufacturers have released their own special software to solve this problem. If you did not find the name of your gadget in the list below, then we recommend that you go to the next section of our article, which describes the universal SMS Backup & Restore application. It can work on most mobile devices.

Developers from HTC Corporation have created their own software product that allows you to copy and transfer SMS from one Android device to another. This is the HTC Transfer Tool application. With the help of this program the user will be able to transfer not only messages, but also calendars, notes, contacts and much more from one device to another in a few clicks. The only drawback of the app is that it only works on HTC smartphones!

LG has an app called LG Backup. With this tool, you can transfer almost any type of data, from calendars and messages to multimedia data. Only a smartphone that accepts data must have Android Jellybean OS or higher.

  • Motorola
  • Motorola has a Motorola Migrate program for Android, which is designed to transfer SMS and other data from one device to another. Again, the disadvantage of the application is that only devices from this manufacturer are supported.

  • Samsung
  • Now let's move on to Samsung devices! The large giant pleases its customers with its own application for transferring messages, settings, records and other data. The Samsung Smart Switch program is distributed free of charge in the Google Play service and can be installed on most devices from this manufacturer. It is also possible to support work with iPhone devices.

  • Sony
  • Sony developers recently released their own program Xperia Transfer Mobile for copying and transferring data. It works not only with Xperia devices, but also with other mobile phones. Almost all mobile operating systems are supported, namely: Android, iOS, Windows Phone. It is possible to transfer not only text messages, but also multimedia messages, settings, photos and videos, notes and other important information.

The universal way - how to copy messages with SMS Backup & Restore

The SMS Backup & Restore application was developed with only one purpose - to copy and transfer SMS from one phone to another under Android. If you do not want to waste time once again trying to understand the principle of working with one or another program described above, then install this application. Here, all operations are performed in a few clicks, regardless of the smartphone manufacturer and OS version.

Versions 1.5 to 5.0 and higher are supported. The developers are constantly releasing updates and fixing bugs.

And so, to work, you will need to do the following:

  1. Go to the Google Play service and download the application to your device.
  2. Allow the installation and wait for the installation to complete. Run the program.
  3. Click on "Backup" to create a complete copy of all messages on your phone.
  4. Drop the finished copy to another smartphone and go to the program. Find the item "Restore" there and specify the path to the file. Within a few minutes, the application will restore all your messages, with a complete list of contacts, attachments.

The application is distributed only with support for a foreign language, but an ordinary user can easily use it, since there are only a few menu items in the interface:

  • Backup - make a copy of messages.
  • Restore - restore a copy of messages.
  • Delete Backups - delete all copies of messages.
  • Delete Messages - delete all messages.

If you have a lot of copies, then you can use the built-in search, which is able to find all copies in the Android operating system in a matter of seconds. For users, there are also settings in the application itself! Files can be saved in XML and uploaded to cloud services such as Google or Mail for further work.

All messages can be viewed on a personal computer, edit the content, view the sender's data. It is also possible to set up automatic copying at a scheduled time, for example, every week.

And so, now you know how to transfer SMS from Android to Android, using various programs and tools that are available in the free Google Play mode! Do not forget to regularly create not only copies of messages, but also contacts, and preferably Android settings. You can read instructions on this on our website!
