How to distinguish a fake from the original samsung n8000. Firmware for the Chinese tablet Samsung N8000

Counterfeits for popular tablet models appear on sale not much later than the official start of sales. Big brands suffer the most from the actions of such “craftsmen”. Buyers who have at their disposal a fake under the guise of the original Samsung Galaxy Note H8000 tablet may be forever disappointed in the brand. What to do to avoid falling for the tricks of scammers?

The level and quality of performance of fakes is constantly being improved. The first versions of fakes are so rough that even an inexperienced buyer can determine this. All of the tips below are general and will certainly help to identify a fake. But do not forget that you may be holding a fake tablet of the highest quality in your hands, and in order to determine its authenticity, you will need to show more attention to details and characteristics.

The photo below is an example of an original tablet and a fake. In our case, it is very easy to identify a fake, even in appearance. The size of the tablet does not correspond to reality, the Samsung logo is smaller. The display diagonal of the counterfeit tablet is about 9 inches. At the same time, the diagonal of the original Samsung tablet is 10.1 inches.

The fake that ended up in our hands is radically different from the original in the location of ports and connectors. This is clearly visible in the photo below. Any comments here are redundant.

The charger of a real Samsung tablet has a Micro-USB connector. Our fake is equipped with a connector of unknown origin, and this is clearly seen in the photo of the plug from the charger. When you try to buy such a charger in a store, you will fail, which once again confirms the fakeness of the tablet as a whole.

The back panel of SamsungGalaxyNoteN8000 branded tablet with a diagonal of 10.1 inches is smooth. In our fake, it is stylized as cheap leather. Here we see the shift of the camera lens to the corner, while on the original tablet it is located in the center.

After turning on the planet, a fake will allow you to calculate the low quality of the matrix and color reproduction, including pixels on cheap copies. The display resolution of the original Samsung Galaxy Note tablet is 1280x800 pixels, while the fake one has only 800x480.

The fake tablet runs on the cheapest Chinese Allwinner processor. For example, the most expensive processor of this company costs no more than $4. It is not difficult to guess what quality our processor has. The original tablet uses Exynos 4412 processors.

The camera is another weak point of any fake. In our case, the tablet manufacturer installed a 0.3 megapixel camera in their “work of art”.

Also, a fake can be identified by a small amount of internal memory, the appearance of icons, desktop, installed applications and similar trifles.

Hard reset did not help (factory reset), I first encountered such a problem, so the first solution was to seek help from experts. I took him to a miracle workshop, where he lay for almost half a year .. They could not find the firmware in any way .. My patience came to an end, I took it. On the way home I brought another olnim pro. during the day they promised to do it. In the evening to come to pick up - it turns out they did not ask. The answer is the same - they can not pick up the firmware. They returned it in the same condition as I gave it to them.

Well, well, it wasn’t, I thought and decided to make my contribution to the repair of this unit, it won’t be worse. After rummaging through the forums at home, reading how and with what such devices are sewn, I realized that the most important thing is to guess the firmware version. There were a lot of firmware options for similar Samsung Galaxy Nout fakes on the network. Well, I started downloading and trying them.

The most popular firmware for this device on the network turned out to be this one: MaPan_MX913_DC_Jelly_Bean_4.1os_Root_Firmware_D20130601_UP And MaPan_MX913_DC_Jelly_Bean_4.2_Os_Root_Firmware_J20131101, but they completely lacked touchscreen support. That is, everything is beautiful, although in Chinese, but you don’t move your finger across the screen, you can only control the tablet from the keyboard, which turned out to be very inconvenient. I started looking for other options. On the site w3bsit3-dns.com and other similar sites, I found a lot of useful. And having tried 100500 Firmware, and did not find one that would work with the tablet normally. Some worked with a touchscreen, but it had a dead zone with a centimeter from below, others had a calibration of pressing the screen, that is, you had to poke a centimeter lower, others did not have a motion sensor or an accelerator, some were in Mexican or completely on Arabic languages and so on. In general, I was tired of looking for a pig in a poke and I remembered that when I was disassembling this tablet, I took several pictures of its insides, and decided to look at the markings on them. The fact that there was a miracle processor

All Winner A13 I remembered, and it didn’t give me anything, but what else were there for the inscriptions ... After reviewing the pictures, I found this cherished inscription on one of the boards of the unnamed tablet: "For-Fun Q3 Main v1.4".

Well, now there was at least some clue. Going to the software repository on mail ru through the same wonderful site w3bsit3-dns.com, I found several firmware for "For-Fun Q3 Main v1.4". Well, the matter remained small. Having downloaded the one that weighed more, 624 meters, I poured it into my tablet, waited impatiently for it to reboot, and was upset, the tablet stuck on the same "android" inscription, on the second attempt I was lucky by downloading this "ZET6223WTAROM" weighing in 446 megabytes, firmware, I got 100% result! The tablet worked. Everything, absolutely everything worked as it should. Download speed, screen, touchscreen and wifi - everything worked perfectly. I didn’t even imagine how it’s possible to fill in this China with a lot of cool applications! The firmware turned out to be assembled on androil 4.0.4, which also pleased me, that is, more or less fresh.

Well, now in order, how and with what I did it all.

What we need: a computer with the operating system Widows XP or Windows 7 32-bit, Phoenix suit program, cable for connecting the tablet, firmware and the tablet itself.

First you need to do preliminary preparation - setting up the tablet driver, both included and in firmware mode.
To do this, we do the following:

1) install the Phoenix suit program on the computer (download)

2) We connect the included tablet, we hear the sound of the connected device, we see the ANDROID device in the equipment

we right click on it shki, choose - Update driver

In the next window, select what is shown in the figure below

click on what is shown below:

click next:

then "Install from disk":

then click on "Browse" button and specify the path to the folder with the installed program Phoenix Suit\Drivers\AW_Driver

And click "OPEN", select usbdrv from the AW_Driver folder, click on "Open" again

and then to "OK"

The following window will appear with the driver to be installed, without paying attention to the warning that it does not have a digital signature, click "NEXT"

equipment will be installed and a message that everything is ready.

All the same actions must be performed with the tablet in the UPDATE mode (this is when it is turned off, hold down the "Volume +" button, hold it and connect it via the cord to the PC, the red indicator lights up on the tablet, but the screen does not light up. The device will be defined as unknown , follow the same steps as above). Otherwise, the Phoenix Suit program will not see the tablet and will not be able to flash it.

We launch it, and do not forget to make sure that no errors occurred during the installation process, the goodle driver was installed

2) download this firmware (download) or another.

Now the actual firmware:
We launch the Phoenix suit program, click on the "anchor" icon, select the firmware, connect the cord to the computer via USB, then on the OFF tablet, hold down the "Volume +" button, hold it, connect the cord to the tablet and quickly press (without releasing the "Volume +" button "Back" button, the firmware will start automatically after the device is detected.

All sorts of people go to the stations and offer expensive tablets for the cheap.

The owner of this tablet was exactly the same way he was "charged". There is the Internet, it is written samsungSamsung Galaxy note N8000, but in fact it is far from samsung Samsung.

Looking ahead, I’ll say that it’s better to take yourself normal And well working a tablet on the Internet than to suffer with the restoration of the performance of this fake. For example, this one. Stopudovo will work without any glitches.

So, to the question of fake - this is how it looks from the outside, in a case, and there is even a keyboard :)

When turned on, they assure that it is Samsung. But we don't believe.

Even Samsung is written on the back cover, but we are still tormented by doubts :)

Just because the Galaxy note N8000 model looks different in the original, Samsung has a front camera in the center at least, and you can find five more significant differences. Here's another option with the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000.

And when you open it, we see the now quite popular Allwinner A13 chip

Actually the problem was that it could not boot. The Samsung logo appears, then Android, with a spinning arrow, and at one fine moment the arrow freezes and the download stops, the tablet freezes.

Thanks to the w3bsit3-dns.com forum, the firmware for this device was found from Jelly_Bean in this forum thread, it was flashed without problems, it works in full functionality. If you have the same model as I have in the photos, you need the firmware MaPan_MX913_DC_Jelly_Bean_4.2_Os_Root_Firmware_J20131101.img

Everything works, both cameras, wi-fi, volume buttons, everything is as it should be.

Saved on batteries. Battery capacity is too small for long-term operation of the device, only 2300 mAh (8.55 W)

The keyboard, by the way, also works, is fully functional, only for Russian letters it will be necessary to install a third-party application.

Due to the large number of people asking about what kind of third-party application we are talking about, I answer. Russian keyboard.

So, in the market we download the program "Russian keyboard". Go to "settings", then "language and input". Click "Default" and in the window that opens, select "Russian keyboard". Below the "Default" window, also check the box next to "Russian keyboard", and on the right we see a small icon (like a mixer, regulator) Click on it. We go to the "hardware keyboard". Click "layout selection", select "External Keyboard RU". We go into the "layout switching" and there we select the language switching mode on the keyboard that suits you (space is a space). Everything is ready! Exit the settings menu and go to any search engine. Click on the small keyboard icon on the panel and select "Russian keyboard". We try to print - everything should work. If the keyboard will still print in Latin letters, restart the tablet.

The keyboard shortcut works the same way as in Windows - Alt+tab :)

After the firmware, we should see such a picture in the settings.

Unexpectedly for myself, quite recently I happened to encounter a powerful Samsung tablet from the Galaxy Note N8000 series on 64Gb, and to be more precise, I had a chance to encounter a fake of this model.

The phone rang about a week ago. A friend called me and told me that he was offered to buy a new tablet for only $ 250. At that time he was interested real cost of tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 64Gb 3G, to which I answered him with the data received from Yandex Market - the price of a new tablet varies from 7.9 to 9.5 million Belarusian rubles ($800 - $970).

For the sake of interest, I looked at the characteristics of this model.

Characteristics of the tablet Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb

  • 4-core processor at 1400 MHz
  • 2 gigabytes of RAM
  • 64 gigabytes of built-in memory
  • 10.1 inch screen
  • High screen resolution - 1280 by 800 pixels
  • 2 cameras
  • Case with separate keyboard
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other gadgets
The model is more than solid, and then I even envied that someone would get such a toy for mere pennies.

According to my friend, this the tablet was bought at the beginning of the month in the city of Moscow, but now the owner has a need for money and therefore he sells it. A friend told me that this tablet even has warranty card and receipt from the store with the Euroet stamp, which basically eliminates the possibility of forgery.

Omitting details, he bought this tablet for $150, and he received such a discount after he said that he should connect it to a computer and check everything. Neither one nor the other had time, so they agreed on this.

A little later, my friend brought this tablet to me for testing, but at that time I had things to do, and I still had to go to training. In the end, I was able to start checking the tablet only late in the evening, and this is where the fun began.

How to check the tablet?

When I came home, I tried to turn on the tablet, but I didn’t manage to do it the first time. It turned out that the battery of the Galaxy Note N8000 tablet was completely discharged.

I connected it via USB to my computer, the charging indicator on the screen lit up and then for the first time I was able to start the device.

Cool - everything works, I opened applications, clicked settings, connected the tablet to WiFi, used the Internet and even played some games installed by the previous owner. During such work, the tablet turned off by itself several times, and the battery level constantly jumped in an incomprehensible way - this alerted me a little. Later, I attributed all the problems to a dead battery, turned off the tablet and left it to charge.

When my friend returned for a tablet, he asked me to throw him a couple of films and imagine my surprise when instead of 64 gigabytes my computer recognized only 2.

In the tablet settings, both the internal memory and another 64 gigabytes were displayed, but for some reason not all of them worked.

I decided that N8000 tablet is missing drivers. There was indeed an unrecognized device labeled "Android" in device manager.

I climbed on Samsung official website, chose the desired device, downloaded and installed the Samsung Kies 3 program with drivers on your computer, and immediately ran into a new riddle. The thing is that the device was not recognized by the program at all, at the moment when my Samsung Galaxy S 2 smartphone was perfectly detected.

I'm sitting at a dead end - I don't understand what this tablet needs, what it lacks. In general, I spent about 2-3 more hours with him before I began to think that he might even turn out to be a banal fake.

I visited the legendary portal about mobile devices w3bsit3-dns.com, in search of useful information, I tried to update the operating system of the tablet, tried to reflash it and eventually even did (hard reset), but I did not get any results.

The next day, I called another friend who also works in computer technology and tried to find out if he had encountered a similar problem. It turned out that stacked and sent me in the right direction. He said it was fake.

How to distinguish a real tablet from a fake?

For a while, I searched the Internet for any related information on how to distinguish a real tablet from a fake, in particular, how to identify a fake in the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000.

1. The original tablet the camera is in the center- at a fake it is shifted into a corner.
2. The real tablet Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 screen resolution 1280x800- the resolution of the fake is much lower. In my case, it was 960 by 600 - in other words, the shortcuts and app icons were just huge.
3. Counterfeit tablets don't have GPS. Try to turn it on, and everything will immediately fall into place.
4. Original Samsung smartphones and tablets in bare mode equipped with special applications like Samsung Apps, ChatON, Group Cast, etc. at a time when the functionality of fake versions is significantly curtailed.
5. IMEI code of course, not an indicator, however, in new and real devices it is always present, and fakes usually have “unknown” instead of it - unknown.
6. Fake Samsung tablets not recognized in the original Samsung Kies.

A bit of myself and pictures

I’m sure if you dig deeper on the Internet, you can find many more ways with which you can identify a fake, however, in this case, for me, the very fact of the distribution of such tablets has become a kind of discovery.

Okay, here my friend bought a tablet directly from his hands on the street, but it turns out that there have been cases when such models were quietly “sold” to customers in fairly reputable stores like Svyaznoy. Where is the world heading?

And yes, by the way, after realizing and accepting the fact that the purchased Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet turned out to be a fake, I again asked my friend to show the warranty card and receipt from the store.

At first glance, everything is as it should be, the amount matches on all documents, the check attached with a stapler to the warranty card, the seal, as is usually done in stores, is superimposed on the corner - everything is according to the rules. But if you take a closer look, it turns out that for some reason the booklet for the tablet comes from the Samsung Galaxy TAB and not from the Samsung Galaxy Note, and for some reason the same IMEI code is not registered at all.

In fact, this is what the tablet itself looked like.

This is what the main application menu looks like. Pay attention to the huge labels, which are unlikely to match the high resolution I mentioned earlier.

And these are the settings of a fake tablet. The N8000 model, android version and other indicators are the same, but where are the guarantees that these data are generally adequate?

This is how the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy Note N8000 64Gb tablet looks like.

And by the way, an acquaintance whom I called in order to find out if he came across such a fake, said that most often the inscription on the back cover was not made with paint, but simply pasted, so this moment can also be used as a test.

Considering that today it was difficult for me to find at least some information about fakes of this nature on the Internet, I hope that few people fell for the bait of scammers and they will not get away with it.

In general, here are the things. Good luck everyone and be careful.

If you were offered to buy a fake or, God forbid, you fell victim to these scammers and scammers, tell your friends about it. Warn and protect your loved ones!

Law enforcement agencies are not interested in solving such problems, and judging by how actively the discussion is going on, it has already gained tremendous momentum.

Let everyone know about this lawlessness - this is quite logical and correct.
