MXL is a spreadsheet document format developed for the 1C: Enterprise application. At the moment, it is not in great demand and is popular only in narrow circles, as it has been supplanted by more modern tabular markup formats.

There is a plugin, after installing which Excel, a standard component of Microsoft Office, will learn to open the MXL extension.
But there are two disadvantages of this method:
- After installing the plugin, Excel will be able to open MXL files created only in 1C:Enterprise version 7.0, 7.5, 7.7;
- This plugin applies only to the Microsoft Office software package versions 95, 97, 2000, XP, 2003.
Such irrelevance can be a plus for someone, and for someone it can be a complete lack of opportunity to use this method.

There are not many ways to open MXL today. The format is not popular among the masses, it is common among enterprises and organizations for accounting.
A task has been received to test and fix the database.
After completing all the routine procedures, it was necessary to verify the main reports: SALT, Account Analysis, Account Card, Subconto Analysis, etc.
To compare the data before and after the scheduled operations, all reports by years were uploaded in mxl format. Standard file comparison processing (only 2 files are compared) took a very long time.
Therefore, processing for group comparison of files was developed.
This processing can also be extended to compare files in txt format, etc.
Processing works on the 1C: 8.2 platform on regular forms.
Processing procedure:
- We open processing, select the directories in which our mxl files are located, before and after changes in the system.
- Mark the required files in both tables and click on the “Compare” button.
Files in which there are no changes are marked in green, files with changes in red. The file comparison occurs in order, i.e. the file in the first row of the left table is compared with the first file in the second table, etc.
- To view changes in files, select the necessary files and click the “Show differences” button

Delivery options
There are two delivery options for the 1C:Enterprise - Working with Files program:
