We will also continue to actively post vacancies on professional portals and groups, and take part in the life of the IT community, because you never know where exactly the employee of your dreams may meet.

Since we work in the Russian market, our priority is domestic specialists, therefore we work in the “domestic” segment. As part of the company's strategy, we do not assume the use of blocking bypass. But, of course, we can't stop a very active recruiter from looking for an employee, including on LinkedIn, from their home computer.

4. What is your general attitude towards blocking professional (not entertainment) resources? Do you think LinkedIn is blocked?

The problem of saving and processing personal data is rather far-fetched. We all understand that as soon as a person leaves his mark on the Internet for the first time, his data is already available. The number of job seekers found there is significant, because clients often expect exactly “mined from the ground” professionals, and not resumes of the redundant, who have been in sight for a long time, or they themselves respond to vacancies. Of course, there is a page there!

Let's remember that LinkedIn is a network for establishing business contacts and professional communication, and not just a hangout of recruiters. It is also a marketing tool with a very “business” audience, industry and narrow professional groups and other gadgets.

There are a lot of alternative networks (Xing, Viadeo, My Circle is more suitable for finding IT specialists, Professionals.ru, narrow professional forums: kaggle.com, stackoverflow.com, etc., corresponding groups on Facebook.), But none of them even came close to LinkedIn in its convenience and functionality. Even if Facebook does launch its own job search application, the entire base of professional contacts will not move there by itself - and this is thousands of people and years of work to establish these connections.

We will continue to participate and search for applicants in narrow professional communities, but this is done for a specific specific project. We do not always publish vacancies - from a cannon to sparrows is not the fastest and most effective way.

But we will definitely not be left without LinkedIn - there are plenty to choose from. For applicants, everything is extremely simple - 1 minute of time on the "proxy" (for example, I liked the names snowdenway and hidemyass), or better 5 minutes to install a VPN or TOR browser.

We use both foreign and domestic resources - everything is for the project, direct search has not been canceled either.

Obviously, this is an indicative action, demonstrating the seriousness of the intentions of the same Facebook. The topic literally blew up social networks and many recruiters agree that the state thus protects us from ourselves (after all, everyone decides for himself what to upload to the network and at any moment can correct information in the profile), protects us from establishing business contacts and looking for a job / candidates.

On Monday, LinkedIn crashed around the world (I don't remember that in 10 years on the site), which also caused a stir. But it was not a blocking, on the same day after 23:00 the site was already functioning normally.

The funniest thing in this situation is the statement by Golodets that “the Rostrud portal remains one of the main job opportunities for Russians”. It is like that people who have been flying airplanes for a long time are suddenly offered to change to donkeys. And it's not even about the "soviet" of the site - another niche, other people, other professions.

A strong recruiter has an overwhelming majority of contacts in the database for a long time and even in the mobile (if we talk about key contacts in the sphere). "Word of mouth" when searching for candidates through friends, even moving to entertainment social networks, will work weaker. HR brand promotion will shift further to Facebook.

Business connections may become less active, exchange of experience and best practices will be difficult. But I am sure that most professionals will not be too lazy to solve the problem thought up by officials on their own - they will simply bypass the blocking.

To be honest, I didn't use LinkedIn that much. There is not a single employee in our company who came directly from this network. Candidates for positions in sales, marketing, products and projects have happened, but not developers. Profile sites, job search sites, social networks, and most importantly recommendations, have always yielded better results for filling vacancies in development. Another thing is that recommendations can be asked on the same LinkedIn.

Projects and products from LinkedIn are happy to recommend colleagues with whom they have ever successfully collaborated on projects. But Facebook is much faster and more convenient for me in this matter.

For me, a personal network of acquaintances always has more weight (here you have to insert the fashionable word "networking"), contacts of such a level of personal and professional trust, when you can get almost any information I need.

After all, the rule of "six handshakes" no longer works, it has transformed into the rule of "three". The time between these handshakes has been reduced to a critical minimum, it has become very ideological in nature, and the cooperation has become even warmer, longer and more productive.

Maintaining dry contacts has faded into the background, and warm professional relationships are built for many years! Recruiters and HRs help each other in finding the right contacts, including Western colleagues will always help in finding the right contact, even on LinkedIn.

I know a lot of HR and recruiters for whom LinkedIn was the main resource for finding and attracting employees, a platform for HR branding, professional communications, as well as communication with foreign colleagues.

Also, many candidates who did not want to "shine" on job search sites were active on this resource.

We will take measures to strengthen other channels, we will not place bets on a single resource, we will become more flexible and choose other search strategies. How many times we didn’t try to “make friends” with LinkedIn, responding to the growing popularity of the site and positive feedback from colleagues in the shop, it all came down to the simple opinion of HR - “HeadHunter and Rjob are closer and more convenient to me”. You can't argue with a specialist, especially considering the fact that she regularly proposes potentially interesting candidates.

After a while, we thought about creating a "business page" solely to expand the methods of communication with specialists and popularize the brand on the market. Roskomnadzor postponed this idea for later. Perhaps we simply underestimate LinkedIn, although we are confident that a medium-sized domestic company will have enough Russian counterparts to solve its problems of finding new specialists.

It will be extremely difficult for representatives of large companies and corporations without the world's largest resource. They are focused on finding top managers and line managers with all their backgrounds and portfolios. A personal conversation or meeting is not enough for them, the path to success, aspiration and desire with which you climbed the career ladder are important for them. Every employer expects ready-made solutions and interesting ideas from you, just someone has time to wait, while others do not.
