How to save money on cell phones. Secret tariffs for their

No matter how many mobile operators you scold, it is unlikely that you will be able to refuse their services in the near future - unless you are going to escape to a desert island or go to a monastery. All the rest can do is try to cut mobile phone costs where the costs are not justified. Here are some useful tips for rescuing drowning people from the “help yourself” series for MTS adherents:

1. Carefully read the tariff description. The first thing that catches your eye is the very “cheese” that was discussed in the article “Which telecom operator is more profitable?”. For example, "Connect "Zero without borders" and receive incoming calls for free from the 1st minute of each call." The fact that from the 11th minute the incoming will be paid, and very strong, is written below and smaller. And the fact that you have 200 total free incoming minutes per month is written there, to which rarely anyone reads.

2. Disable options that you no longer use in a timely manner. Be aware of their auto-renewal by the operator and that it is not in their interests to warn you about this. It is beneficial for the operator that you don’t remember about the once connected free services ah, when you renew those that have become paid. Warning SMS about this, if they come, are compiled in such a way that they can easily mislead even the one who composed them.

3. For the same purpose (see paragraphs 1 and 2), when purchasing a tariff, immediately determine the services included in the package, but you do not need them. For example, "beep", etc., from which you personally benefit from zero, and the money is withdrawn.

4. If you have been using your favorite tariff for a long time, then periodically check what changes it has undergone over time. For some time now, rates have been updated automatically every year, and they may contain conditions that do not suit you. Your task is to get it out in time and change the tariff to a more profitable one.

5. Auto payment ( automatic replenishment balance from a bank card) is a good thing. But if you changed the tariff, and auto payment was tied to the conditions of the previous tariff, then replenishing the balance in this way under the new conditions may not be profitable.

6. After returning from your travels, do not forget to turn off the services "Zero without borders" and "Everywhere at home". It is best to put a reminder of this on your phone.

7. If you are using credit limit or you have activated the service "On full confidence”, periodically check the boundaries of your limit. Because MTS is constantly increasing it, and at the most inopportune moment you may find that your phone is blocked, and you owe MTS a tidy sum. MTS let my friend go negative for 3,000 rubles - do you need it?

8. Ignore messages that come from short four-digit numbers and do not get involved in any quizzes or mobile sales. Unless you want to become a victim of compulsive wiring. Three-digit numbers (for example, an Internet assistant (111) or mobile Sberbank (900) do not seem to pose a threat yet.

9. If you are a long time fan of MTS, then you are entitled to a reward for devotion. No, this is not about the fraudulent mailing of 2014 (here, by the way, is advice on how to turn off SMS 2014 if the “Kazakhstan partners of MTS” are still forcing you to “Mercedes”). As a reward for loyalty, I mean the MTS Bonus program. If you are an experienced subscriber, then the bonus can be a useful help in the form of free services. I registered for the MTS bonus at the time of its appearance, and I have enough points to connect SMS packages and travel services for free.

List useful combinations MTS, which are convenient to keep at hand:

How to connect "Zero without borders" - send 33 to number 111

How to turn off "Zero without borders" - send 330 to number 111

How to connect "Everywhere at home" - you need to send 3333 to number 111

How to turn off "Everywhere at home" - send 33330 to number 111

How to find out your number in MTS - you need to dial *111*0887#

How to find out your tariff in MTS - you need to dial *111*59#

How to find out the rest of the options traffic - you need to dial *217#

How to send a "beggar" - you need to dial * 110 * subscriber number # call - the subscriber will receive an SMS "Call me back" with your number and, if he wants, he will call back.

In order not to receive SMS beggars, you need to dial *110*0#call on your phone.

What is a "direct transfer" in MTS - this is a replenishment of the balance of another MTS subscriber from your phone. To do this, dial *112*subscriber number*300#call - where 300 is the maximum transfer amount in rubles. Therefore, instead of 300, there can be any number from 1 to 300 - write as much as you want to translate. You will receive an SMS with a code. After that, dial *112*digits of the code#call. You will receive confirmation that your request has been accepted. The cost of the service is 7 rubles.

"Direct transfer in reverse" is called "Top up my account." To top up your account, on your phone dial *116*subscriber number*amount#call

The subscriber whose number you indicated will receive an SMS with the text: “Please top up my account” and he will receive a link for direct transmission. Begging in this way is allowed only 5 times a day. The “Top up my account” service is valid only between MTS subscribers.

If you do not want to sign up as a sponsor, set a ban on the "Top up my account" service. To do this, dial *116*0#call, and you will not receive such SMS again.

In MTS you can call on credit. How to connect the promised payment - you need to dial *111*123#call.

To timely disable unnecessary paid services, use the combination *152*2#call to find out which of them you have connected.

Most issues can be resolved through the MTS operator by multiline phone+7 495 766 01 66. Officially, this phone is intended for those who are in roaming. But I call him even from home - this is the only way quickly connect with a human operator, and not with a stupid talker. Good luck!

Under New Year want to start life clean slate. December is already coming to an end, and with it, our special project with the developers is really useful application. The final selection of stories today is dedicated to real results. To those readers who installed the program, used it for its intended purpose and achieved their goal: they saved money on communications. And not only on it. Someone has managed win iPhone 6 ;)

Serious benefits with multiple SIM cards

The first mini-story is from our reader under the nickname DEUS. The story is short but effective. The savings per year are really considerable: if it weren’t for the jumping exchange rate, this money could buy new iPad! This is what it means to choose the right tariffs. Bravo for cost optimization!

Out of habit, it will be difficult to describe exactly how this application helped me save money. But I'll try. After, I decided to put the program on the phone. Previously, I had to spend from 700 to 1100 rubles a month on communication services. Considering that I have 2 phones and a tablet, as a result, a considerable amount of money was obtained. About 2500 - 2800 rubles per month for everything. Even if we exclude the tablet from here, it turned out 2000-2300 rubles. After doing a little analysis of all the tariff plans of my telecom operators, I picked up really great tariffs.

This is what my cell phone bills looked like without Dr. Tariff:

  • phone Megaphone: 1100 rubles;
  • Beeline phone: 800 rubles;
  • Beeline tablet: 600 rubles.

Total: 2500 rubles

And here are the costs along with the application:

  • phone Megaphone: 450 rubles;
  • Beeline phone: 300 rubles;
  • Beeline tablet: 299 rubles.

Total: 1049 rubles.

Wow difference! And now the overall result...

Saving– 1451 rubles per month or 17412 rubles per year!

I express my gratitude to the developers of this wonderful and useful program working properly. I would also like to know where I should write about a small improvement of the application. I have a number of ideas that I think would fit well in Dr. Tariff!

How I not only saved money, but also earned on the operator

Saving is great. But earnings are generally gorgeous! If only the methods were honest ... Alexander told us how he deployed a whole network of recruiting subscribers into the ranks of the "green" operator for his own profit.

Alexander:

Almost ten years ago, in 2005, I worked in Svyaznoy. I knew all the tariffs of all operators by heart, but even so it was extremely difficult to find very profitable option. I have been using O'light (Megafon) since 2003. For a long time it remained the No. 1 hit of all. Not released into circulation a large number of cards and they sold out pretty quickly.

Later, Megafon continued to issue attractive short-term rates. Some part was bought up by store employees and went to the markets, where it was sold at a very high price, since otherwise it was impossible to find such favorable service conditions. Therefore, in those days, many saved money like this: they bought, for example, Jeans (MTS), which cost $ 5, and there were $ 10 on the account. They spoke out all the money and threw out the SIM card, replacing it with a new one. For store employees, Megafon had a tariff - I don’t remember what it’s called ... So the payment system there was as follows: when selling any non-contractual tariff, there was a card in the envelope for the store employee, on which there was money - and which could be activated as a reward from the sale.

Most sellers sat on this tariff, never paying their money for communication. But one day a contract called "Friendly" (Megaphone) appeared, which was sold to employees for 300 rubles, and there were $60 on the account. Naturally, many began to buy it, pronounce all the money and throw out the SIM card. And then it became interesting to me: is it possible to terminate the contract and get the money - those sixty bucks that are on the account? I called Megafon and everything was confirmed.

With a sly smile on his face, he began to buy these contracts. The only nuance was the inability to connect more than four contracts for one facial number, that is, only 4 cards could be registered per person. I went to Megafon and terminated the contracts due to allegedly not confident reception, and ten days later I came and received $ 240. Yes, $240 for 900 rubles! At that rate it was about seven thousand rubles. I drove so slowly. Every ten days - to different Megafon offices, so as not to arouse suspicion. But there were only four...

For a percentage, he began to attract friends, making out numbers on them. This whole system worked for several months, until they stopped selling this contract for three hundred. Probably, I was not the only one who turned out to be so smart, because the people who took these contracts numbered dozens of people ... As a result, for all this time it turned out many, many thousands of rubles: I paid off my connection for many years to come :)

Time passed, he worked in a different field and completely ceased to be interested in tariffs. enjoyed my O'light, occasionally glancing: was there something cheaper or more profitable? Dreams appeared: maybe one day they will call me and say: they say, dude, you have been using our network for a long time, and we have prepared for you special offer! Imagine my surprise when that day arrived.

They called me from Megafon and told me about my communication costs. According to their statistics, I spent about 1300-1600 rubles a month. The All Inclusive L tariff was offered at a discount of three hundred rubles. Not bad, I thought: three thousand minutes a month, ten gigabytes of Internet and some unlimited amount of SMS - all this costing 1500 rubles was offered for 1200. Connect! - told them. Began to use.

After reading an article on website about, I decided to use this program. It’s convenient, because for a long time I wanted to read about all the tariffs and choose the right one, but then such an application turned up. Launched. The program conducted statistics and offered me a tariff for 500 rubles "All Inclusive S" - the savings will be eight hundred rubles. Now I'm thinking of moving on. It's a shame, of course, that there will be no more discounts. But in the end, I'll still save!

Winner story. Like Dr. Tariff helped to optimize costs

Mikhail Nikitin:

Honestly, I wanted to write about how smart I am and how much I save on communications without third party programs. But I was very shocked by what I saw in the Dr. tariff.

I live in a small provincial town with a population of about 500 thousand people. Question cellular communication always stood sharply for me, since my student days, when about 6 years ago I purchased the first one in my iPhone life 3GS at the notorious American auction. Until that moment, I didn’t particularly choose a tariff, but used the one that was cheaper. Historically, among all my friends and relatives, there was an opinion that MTS should be used. Therefore, almost all my "mobile" life, I use the services of this operator. Once I tried to switch to Beeline, but we will get to that :).

After the appearance of a modern smartphone at that time, I wanted to use it to the maximum. A lot of games and applications have been installed. Everything sent me notifications and actively tried to get online. At one fine moment, when I replenished my balance by 100 rubles for the third time in a week, I decided: something needs to be changed. I was a student with a scholarship of 1,450 rubles a month and saved up for the smartphone itself for more than six months.

So I went to the nearest MTS salon and chose a tariff with unlimited internet at a speed of 64kbps, it cost about 200 rubles a month with unlimited calls to the operator's numbers. At the time, I was just thrilled. A third-year student with games and unlimited internet, what could be better?

Time passed, the university ended and I got my first job. Software engineer in a company that was a contractor of Vimpelcom LLC (Beeline). For a young man without a family, such work was a fairy tale: constant traveling around the region, to VimpelCom's communications facilities ... We constantly encountered new equipment that had to be miraculously set up and connected to the network. In general, it was not boring :)

But there was one "but" - I had to communicate a lot by cell phone with VimpelCom employees. Many hours of daily conversations, and for the most part with other areas (the Regional Directorate, for example, was in Nizhny Novgorod). But as you remember, all my close relatives and friends - MTS, daily conversations with them were also at least half an hour. After a couple of months of such work, I noticed that without noticing it, I spend more than 1,500 rubles a month on mobile communications.

Therefore, after some thought and communication with the management, it was decided to get a second phone with a beeline :(. Old push-button nokia was found in the table, and Beeline's SIM card was inserted into it. Of the advantages of the old phone, I note one thing - you could talk on it for a couple of days, and he did not sit down. True, it was terribly inconvenient to carry two handsets with you, and the moments when both called were unforgettable. But the savings on cellular communications were noticeable, and immediately. On the iPhone 4, the simplest MTS tariff was chosen with an unlimited Internet package - something around 250 rubles per month. On the button counterpart, the Beeline Xl or XXl tariff was chosen, I don’t remember exactly, and it cost about 300 rubles a month.

As a result, I always began to fit into 600 rubles a month, although I talked for hours. Two phones had two undeniable advantages: after 7 pm I turned off my work phone and went into a quiet life with one personal phone; while there were long hours of discussions on the work phone, what to do next and why this or that equipment does not work, I calmly stuck in the unlimited Internet on the iPhone.

In May of this year, I radically changed the scope of my activity, and the telephone as a means of work was no longer necessary for me. "Nokia" calmly went to the drawer, from where I pulled it out 3 years ago :), and I decided to change the tariff to something powerful with the maximum possible unlimited Internet. Tariff has been selected Super Zero from MTS with internet package Super BIT. All this pleasure came out to me about 250-300 rubles a month. And I thought that this tariff was ideal for me, for several reasons:

  • I use mobile Internet a lot;
  • I communicate a lot within the same operator and in the same region;
  • I practically do not use SMS, thanks to Whatsapp and VKontakte.

I’ll say in advance that two years ago I was terribly infuriated by the mobile Internet, and now everywhere where I spend a lot of time, there cable internet With Wi-Fi router. At work, at home, at my parents' house, at my wife's parents' house, at my wife's sister's house, at my best friend's house.

And it was all before today until I decided to write this review of my cell phone spending over the years :). Perhaps this application should have appeared five years ago! So, having opened it, I was shocked by the fact that I practically do not use mobile Internet since I left previous work. Calls to non-MTS numbers are minimal and can sometimes be counted on the fingers. Even the program says that I spend too much. But I always thought that my expenses are small, and I am very economical in this regard.

Here's a snapshot of the information I got from the program today.

Outgoing calls for 6 months

Incoming calls purposefully removed due to the fact that they are free in our country. What operators they call me from has absolutely no effect on the thickness of my wallet.

Usage mobile internet for 6 months

As you can see in the screenshot above, mobile data usage has plummeted since the shift in business in May of this year.

After analyzing the information received, we see that I practically do not use mobile Internet and call mainly to MTS numbers. You can also see: I spend about 300 rubles a month. As I said before, this suited me up to last moment day.

We go to tariff selection in the application and see that it is more profitable for me to use another tariff plan.

At first glance, the amounts are ridiculous. Switching to the tariff Super MTS”, the savings will be only 121 rubles per month.
I would also like to note that for about 4 months I have been thinking about giving up my home phone. He is a priori in the apartment, but now, after spending a couple of hours analyzing my expenses for mobile communications, I realized that I don’t use it at all. A subscription fee is 272 rubles per month.

My beloved wife and I practically do not use taxis due to the fact that our beloved car always spends the night under the window in the cold. If we want pizza, I order either through the application, or from a cell phone, etc. In general, in the wake of reflections on mobile communications I decided to give up my home phone!

Calculated approximate savings per year: (121 + 272) * 12 = 4716 rubles.

4716 rubles savings per year!

And it's all thanks to the app - and the fact that it made me sit down and think hard about how I spend money on communications over the past few years.

On the evening of the same day, having taken the phone away from my wife, I decided to check whether we had chosen the right tariff for her SIM card. Her sister now lives in another city, and sometimes they communicate hours. Therefore, for several years she has not had the best budget tariff, but with 1000 (sort of) minutes of calls to MTS mobile phones in Russia. And almost always, as it seemed to me, this thousand minutes is spent instantly.

It turns out that my beloved does not talk to another region for more than 30 minutes a day. And it easily fits into other tariff plans. On average, she spent 489.8 rubles per month. The program immediately offered us to change the tariff plan and save 222 rubles per month.

As well as for myself, I calculated the approximate savings for the year: 222 * 12 = 2664 rubles.

2664 rubles savings per year!

After spending half a day analyzing my expenses, I saw that I was wasting at least 7380 rubles per year!

After a short meeting with my beloved, it was decided that tomorrow morning I would go to the Rostelecom office to turn off home phone. And we changed the tariffs of mobile phones in your personal account from home. Perhaps, for large cities, the amount of ~ 7500 rubles per year for family budget will seem funny. But we live in a city of 500,000 people and average salary about 10-20 thousand per month.

It was decided that with this, albeit not the most huge amount of money, I would rather buy gold earrings for my beloved wife on Amazon once a year (even at the current dollar rate). Or buy our moms by e-book.

As a result, the application made me think a lot about the cost of mobile communications. I hope that it will tell you a lot more interesting things in the future!

Congratulations!

Michael, you can't even imagine what else this application will "tell" you :) Your effective savings and full compliance with all the conditions of the competition brought you the first place. Now you can buy any earrings and an armful of your beloved with the money saved. e-books for all relatives. thanks for detailed history– and sincere congratulations from the developers Dr. Tariff and editions website! iPhone 6 becomes yours.

Nowadays, even every schoolchild has a mobile phone, so the question of saving on mobile communications becomes relevant. On this moment There are many providers on the market with similar services. Due to this cellular operators trying to stand out great amount tariff plans and services.

Some of them really help to save money, while others are absolutely not profitable. Analysts have deduced a visual formula for the cost of cellular communications. Statistics say that on average, a family spends a little more than three thousand rubles on communication.

This amount includes calls within the network, intercity, roaming, Internet access, monthly fees, as well as an optional set of services. As a result, the amount cannot be called small and the question is brewing of how to save money.

Many people usually don't know what data plan they use. Accordingly, the prices are also unknown. It is best to view the operator's page so that you can choose the best option.

The mobile operator is interested in getting the most profit, so it is not always possible to connect to old tariff plans, due to the release of new ones. In such cases, an SMS arrives, which says about changing the tariff plan, but without your knowledge.

Such SMS is easy to miss and you will not know about it. You will notice how quickly money leaves the account, and communication becomes unaffordable.

Advice: Check your operator's website more often to be aware of all new offers. Also view SMS messages of your operator. Such a popular feature as "Personal Account" will help optimize communication costs and save on mobile communications.

Messengers to replace SMS

At the moment, SMS is not an expensive service, and for some operators the service is completely free. But you need to understand that the cost of messages is embedded in other mobile services.

Is it possible to save on SMS messages? Now a lot of people are using special programs for communication. Such programs are called messengers:

  • viber;
  • whatsapp;
  • Telegram.

For sending text message you must have someone's number stored in the phone. Video calls around the world are also available in many programs. Having a set of such applications in your phone, it will no longer be necessary to pay for SMS.

Naturally, to work with these applications, you need an Internet connection, but now there are many Internet tariffs and open Wi-Fi points.

Savings abroad

You need to understand that abroad Russian connection is in roaming. You can spend all the money in your account without making a single call. This is rather strange, but after carefully considering the situation, it becomes clear that many applications are automatically updated via the Internet.

That's where the bulk of the money goes. In order to avoid this situation, you need to disable automatic update programs before going abroad.

Bank cards and mobile bonuses

Recently, a unique innovation has appeared. A number of bank cards are issued in close cooperation with mobile operators. After purchases with a bank card, bonuses are awarded with which you can pay for cellular communications. Cards with a similar service:

  • MasterCard Standard "MTS" from Sberbank of Russia;
  • Visa Classic Telephone card» from URALSIB bank;
  • Megafon card from Citibank.

However, in order for the amount of accruals to be significant, you need to use the card as often as possible or even constantly. If a bank card is your main means of payment, then this is a very profitable application.

Stay up to date with all promotions and unique offers. Such information is often indicated on the websites of mobile operators.

Turn off paid services you don't need

Do you have an idea about what services are connected to your tariff? Usually, most people don't even know that they are paying for any services. Certainly, approximate cost Everyone knows the minutes of the call, but they are very surprised when they find out about additional expenses.

Operators can connect obviously unnecessary options, for example:

  • voice mail;
  • notifications mobile operator;
  • Internet mailing;
  • various roaming services;
  • answering machine;
  • entertainment services (daily horoscopes and jokes);
  • ringtones and so on.

Connected services can be easily viewed and, if necessary, disabled in your personal account. Shutdown unnecessary services help you save money on communications.

Be careful with subscriptions and mailing lists

Do not leave your numbers on various forums on the Internet. Any attacker can take advantage of this - you will definitely be connected junk mail and advertisements that will come day and night. Sometimes such advertising messages paid.

Advice: You need to be careful when working with Internet content, because after downloading a picture or song, you may be connected paid content. The price of such a subscription is up to one hundred rubles per day.

On-net calls

Operators make no effort to make on-net calls free of charge, since the cost of such calls is practically zero. It all depends on the "interconnect". This is the amount that is transferred to the operator for the fact that the call was made to his network.

The amount of payment is only 95 kopecks per minute of conversation. It turns out that the cost of a call within the network does not exceed this amount.

It should be noted that the subscriber also receives incoming calls, and this also brings profit to cellular operators.

In general, you can save most of your money on communications by using intranet calls.

IP telephony instead of calls

When using a smartphone, you can make calls via VoIP. It is important to have a good internet connection. However, LTE is currently available in almost all cities, although 3G is enough. Wi-Fi connection is also suitable.

The downside is that each person uses different programs, so you need to use multiple running programs.

Talk about trifles

How else can you save on mobile communications? You need to follow some rules:

  • You should not start a conversation on unnecessary topics. Need to get rid of extra information. Usually it is teenagers who do not know the measures in this matter.
  • You don’t need to talk in the car, because the conversation will turn out to be long and tedious, as attention is scattered, and you won’t be able to save on communications.

After all, almost every tariff plan is designed for per-minute debiting. Money. And the less we say, the more money will remain.

Use the services of several operators

If your cellular telephone supports the function of using two SIM cards, then this is a great advantage. For example, one SIM card can be used to access worldwide network, and the other for calls. In this case, the cost of cellular communication will be very insignificant.

Today, when even a child has a cell phone, the question arises of how to save on the use of mobile communications. There are many different providers, and they all provide almost the same services.

Such competition gives rise to many tariff plans and additional services which are literally imposed on the subscriber. You can spend too much on them, or you can choose an option that will allow you to reduce mobile communication costs.

Analysts who are closely involved with cell phone spending issues have come up with an interesting financial cost formula. According to statistics, an ordinary family spends about 3,500 rubles on the use of mobile communications. These costs include:

  • payment for calls both within the region and for intercity;
  • phone calls in roaming;
  • messages and the Internet;
  • subscription fee;
  • paid options and services.

The total amount accumulates rather big, so you involuntarily think about what to save on in order to reduce it several times?

Quite recently, quite a few appeared on the Internet. interesting application called Dr. Tariff, designed for owners of phones on operating system Android and iOS. This development belongs to the Internet Initiatives Development Foundation. It is intended to tell the smartphone owner which of the currently presented tariffs is most suitable for his needs.

According to the developers of this software, about half of the subscribers mobile network use an inefficient tariff and overpay huge sums. According to them, users of the application will be able to save about five thousand rubles a year. Pretty good amount. This is probably why the registered users of Dr. Tariff has already accumulated more than 200 thousand.

The program is free and easy to find on the Internet. To activate, the user will need to provide their phone number and enter a password from personal account used on the site of the mobile operator.

Based on the analysis of data collected when you use your phone, the program will report on the amount of money spent, display statistics on the number of messages sent to numbers various operators, Internet traffic used, will provide a report on calls.

All this will help determine which operator you spend on calls to more often and what services you need to comfortable work. Then you can transfer your number to the mobile operator that provides Better conditions for less money.

There are a few more interesting solutions helping to save on cellular communications:

  1. Connect all close relatives to single operator. Since most operators provide free calls within the network, this solution will save significant financial resources.
  2. Buy so-called Internet traffic packages. It's more convenient and saves money.
  3. If you need to call and say just a few words, consider whether it would be more beneficial to send a written message.

Messengers to replace SMS

To date, SMS messages are a relatively inexpensive service, and in most tariff plans they are completely free. But do not be naive, their payment is already included in the cost of the tariff plan. So the question remains the same - how to save on SMS messages?

There are a huge number of special absolutely free messengers on the network. The most popular among them are Viber, WhatsApp and Telegram. These programs use phone numbers, which are located in the address book of your smartphone.

Viber also offers a video call service. With them, you can no longer spend money on SMS, MMS and video calls. With these applications in your phone, you can communicate almost free of charge with people who are in different points planets. The main thing is that their number be stored in phone book on your device.

Of course everything said programs use an Internet connection, but this is not a problem, since Internet packages from mobile providers are very common today, and there are also a huge number of free Wi-Fi access points to the network.

Savings abroad

When using Russian cellular communications abroad, you need to remember that a subscriber, while in roaming, can spend the entire amount on the balance without making a single call. This is surprising, but when you study the history of events in personal account on the website of the mobile operator, you will notice that some programs have been independently updated via the Internet, and all the money has gone to pay for it.

To avoid this problem, you should disable all applications that are able to independently use the Internet connection before the trip.

Bank cards and mobile bonuses

An interesting innovation that appeared relatively recently. The point is that some bank cards produced in close cooperation with representatives cellular networks. When using such a card, its user is awarded special points, which can later be used to pay for cellular services.

There are several banks that provide their customers with such opportunities. For example:

  • Visa Classic Mobile Bonus – credit card provided by Petrocommerce Bank.
  • Visa Classic "Telephone Card" is an overdraft credit card provided by URALSIB Bank.
  • MasterCard Standard MTS is a credit card provided by Sberbank of Russia.
  • MegaFon card is a credit card provided by Citibank.

Of course, in order to get nice bonus need to spend large sums through these cards. But if you already spend a lot, you can save well on the services provided by cellular operators.
Also, do not neglect various promotions and seasonal discounts. Check your website periodically mobile provider and keep up with the news.

How to save a lot of money on mobile communications? How to significantly reduce the cost of a minute of conversation and SMS, how to significantly reduce mobile traffic Internet, how to talk and use the Internet as much as you want? Today's podcast is about this and much more.

The mobile phone has become an integral part of our lives, without which it is simply impossible to imagine its existence. With the help of the phone, we communicate, buy, make banking transactions, move in space (navigators), find out any information on the go and do a million more things. Over time, mobile communications become cheaper and cheaper (I say this as a person who started using mobile phones in the early 2000s))).

However, you can save on mobile communications significant money in the context of the year.

Check your rate

Fares change frequently. And life circumstances too. Once every 6-12 months, call the operator and see if they can offer you more favorable tariff, considering your situation (maybe 95% of your calls are made within one operator and one family and you will be offered family rate; maybe you don’t use mobile Internet much and you will be given a tariff without it; maybe most of your calls are incoming, etc.). Give up everything you don't need.

Learn about package deals

As a rule, "package" offers are always cheaper than a set of separately connected services. Find out what is included in certain packages, perhaps they include everything you need (the number of minutes you need, internet, etc.)

Find out about family packages

Often, operators provide offers where you can connect one or more numbers of the people closest to you (parents, children, spouse) and use a reduced rate when communicating with them. Such a package/tariff/service will allow several numbers with different tariff plans to share packages of minutes, SMS and mobile Internet, drawing them from one number on the tariff.

Use instant messengers for international and long-distance calls

For several years now I have not made phone calls to other cities. It happened before. Now you can perfectly make audio and video calls via whatsapp, facebook, skype, etc. If you make such a call by connecting to wifi, then such a call will be free for you, even if you are calling to Australia.

This is a great salvation for our grandparents, who can't talk enough with their granddaughters))

Download files, videos, live and other "heavy" content, only by joining wifi (wifi)

Now, in big cities, wifi is available almost everywhere: in cafes, in institutions, in transport, in taxis and even on the streets there are free wifi hotspots. Make it a rule to download bulk content only when wifi is connected and follow it.

By the way, it's cool that in many countries "wifi" is pronounced like "wifi" 😂

Turn off roaming and mobile data when you are roaming.

I remember at work, more than once I witnessed how people, sometimes without their knowledge (data transfer was not turned off), wrote off thousands of dollars for "using" the phone in roaming.

Restrict mobile usage for some apps

For example, you may decide that you want to always be online for mail and instant messengers, and use all other programs only when you are connected to wifi. This will significantly reduce your Internet traffic, because. in addition to the fact that you will not “download” it, applications in background. This is done in the phone settings.

Find out the conditions from other operators

Now you can change the operator, keeping your number. Use this if your carrier's competitors offer you significantly best rate. Or in order to get the best conditions from your operator.

Buy local SIM cards while traveling

At the same time, you will always be available in messengers, and the same whatsapp remains tied to your Russian number. To the point:

Call and check paid subscriptions

A variety of fraudulent (and not fraudulent) services can connect to your number and charge, for example, 1-2-6-10-30 rubles per day. Often such charges can be invisible to the subscriber for many months or even years. Call the operator and find out a special combination of numbers and characters in order to regularly learn about the services connected to your number on your own. Naturally, immediately block them (through the operator) as soon as they are discovered.

Call from a landline

Because outgoing calls are not free, you can call the most frequent numbers (parents, husband, wife, children, close friends) with landline phone, if it is available to you (for example, you work in an office and a phone with access to the city line is on your desk). This method will easily save you many hundreds or even thousands))) of outgoing minutes per month.

Control your expenses

Now this can be done easily, through mobile app operator. View the details of your expenses by month, see when there were peak expenses and analyze why. Draw conclusions and try to get rid of spending options.

A good idea comes later!)

After recording the video, I got the idea of another mega way to save money on mobile! This is the use of protective cases (covers) and films (glasses) on the screen. If, like me, you regularly drop your phone, then this expense (for a case and a film) will save you a lot of money, really. replacing only one screen can easily cost 50-100-150 dollars!

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many ways to save on mobile communications. In the context of the year, you can save significant money. And, as you can see, all you need to do is periodically monitor your tariff, connected services and subscriptions, as well as learn how to correctly use your phone when wifi is connected.

The secret way to save money on your mobile from Timur Mazaev 🙂

My family and I live in different countries - in most cases, for us, this is savings compared to St. Petersburg (housing, food, cars, expenses for children, etc.). In other countries, we use local SIM cards, thereby cutting off hundreds of calls and thousands of minutes of conversations a month that we have when we return to our beloved St. Petersburg)). We use local SIM cards, usually for mobile internet. And all calls are made only through instant messengers - for free! For our family, the savings on mobile communications and the Internet is more than $50 per month.

Such a model, of course, requires passive income, and it is formed over many years, by investing saved and set aside money in profitable instruments!

In 10-15 years, I turn these savings on mobile phone $50 per month - in an annual income of about $2,000 (!!!), using force! In 20 years it will be about $4,000 in annual income, and in 25 years it will be about $6,500! Not a bad addition to your pension, isn't it?! And it saves only on mobile communications!

It is clear that tariffs will change in 5-10 years and all that, but this is just an example of the great power of small steps to make it clear that saving even $ 10 a month can bring you significant passive income in the near future!
