Do you have a question about LG Optimus L7 P705?

Use the form below

13 / 06 / 2012

This model is the oldest in the new line of “stylish smartphones” by LG, and at a cost of around 18,000 rubles, it offers a thickness of less than 9 mm, a GHz processor, Android 4.0 out of the box, as well as many other useful and not so “things”. All this will be discussed below.

Packaging and delivery of LG Optimus L7

A curious trifle, although we have before us the older model in the line, nevertheless, in a small cardboard package in which the smartphone is delivered, for some reason there was no place for a wired headset, which, as a rule, is found in models of a much lower price level.

Opening the box, apart from, of course, the device itself, I saw a charger adapter, a cable with a micro-USB / USB port, as well as a battery plus a user manual.

No intelligible explanation why the "regular" equipment does not provide for a headset can not be found anywhere on the Internet. However, whether the user has lost something from the absence of this accessory in the delivery set is another question.

Assembly

The case assembly involves plastic elements of several types and formats.

The back panel, as well as the right and left side faces are made of matte plastic with a texture in the form of a small pigtail. The bottom end is arranged in the same way.

The opposite side is glossy plastic polished under a mirror, and the front panel is covered with a protective material - Gorilla glass, although the L7 smartphone is not listed on the manufacturer's website. Nevertheless, it is simply stupid not to believe the manufacturer's statement.

The build quality I would rate as average. On the one hand, we see an excellent fit of the materials to each other, where nothing “chaps up” and doesn’t “fly off”, but on the other hand, even squeezing the case in the palm of your hand, you can easily notice the crunch behind the latter.

The smartphone is comfortable in the hand. Yes, in order to reach out with the thumb of the hand holding the device to the opposite side of the display, you will have to “twist and turn” the handset in every possible way, but after a short period of adaptation, you simply don’t notice anything. Yes, and 122 grams of the declared weight in the hand is not felt - it's nice, especially from the point of view of long-term continuous work.

The implementation of mechanical functional elements at a good level is done competently and conveniently in terms of usability.

Attaching the battery pack cover to the panel does not cause any problems, however, as does the reverse procedure. There is only one "but" - it is necessary to remove the cover, after slightly prying it on the rim of the micro-USB port. This, however, is not difficult to do, so the fact that there is no separate gap for these purposes should not depress anyone.

Design

This is an extremely thin, beautiful touch monoblock, which is available in Ukraine in two body colors - completely white and completely black. I can’t say anything good about the first color option, let alone anything bad - I simply didn’t see what they say, the handset live.

Black looks quite presentable. Thin, somewhat elongated, competently connecting glossy and matte elements to each other, with a nice texture on the back panel. Pleasant thin phone, focused on the business user - a good representative device. In a word, at least the owner of L7 may not worry about the appearance of “his pet” - in this regard, there can be no complaints about the smartphone!

Ergonomics of functional elements

I am very pleased with the fact that under the display I received a hardware button - double-click and the smartphone is unlocked. Whoever says anything, but it is much more convenient, for some reason they are drawn to the button on the upper end.

To the right and to the left of the mechanical key is located one touch. While the device is in idle mode, the buttons are not highlighted and you can, in fact, deceptively think that they are not there. However, it is worth pressing the key in the center once to make sure that the first impression is wrong. A nice little thing - you can, however, assign your own backlight timeout to the touch buttons, as well as the display.

Above the display is a noticeable slot, behind which the earpiece "hides".

To the right of it is a proximity sensor eye, and to the left there is a front camera window.

The entire back panel is covered with a battery pack cover, in the body of which there are two noticeable slots for a “photo duet” - a peephole for the camera and a flash, as well as another one, implemented under the outputs of the speakerphone grid.

There are actually no functional elements on the right and left panels, with the exception of only a paired volume control button on the left side.

On the top end there is a power on / off button for the device, and, in addition, there is a 3.5 mm jack for connecting traditional headphones.

And, finally, from the opposite side, access to the micro-USB port is opened, as well as a small slot that "hides" the built-in microphone behind it.

Display

The display is implemented on the basis of an IPS matrix, which is undoubtedly a plus! Of course, while working in a bright sunny environment, the brilliance dies out somewhat, but the information remains readable, and has a fairly good sharpness.

Under normal lighting conditions, the colors are very good, even if the information is viewed from an angle. Well, IPS - they know how to do it!

The display resolution is not bad - 480x800 pixels, with a diagonal of 4.3 inches. Grain is not noticed, even while watching HD-format.

Sensitivity is not bad - menu icons respond to touch immediately.

Compared to AMOLED matrices, IPS, it seems to me, have calmer colors. However, the latter is only my, purely subjective impression.

From the corresponding submenu of the display settings, the user can enable or disable the accelerometer mode, select the size of the keyboard, as well as adjust the backlight timeout of the touch buttons and much more.
The backlight level is adjusted manually using the corresponding slider in the settings.

Memory

The amount of built-in memory in the smartphone is about three gigabytes. Here the user can both save the necessary content and install various software. What's nice - in the corresponding submenu, data is available on what content / software, how much space is used - there is an alimentary ability to control.

Built-in memory expansion is provided. For these purposes, a microSD memory card slot is used. The maximum amount of external storage allowed to work in the system is 32 GB. In the "regular" delivery set, for obvious reasons, a "flash drive" is not provided.

Battery and Speakers

The system uses a BL-44JH battery with a capacity of 1700 mAh.

Frankly, while testing the smartphone, I did not use any testers to determine autonomy under various loads, and therefore I will tell you how much one 100% battery charge was enough for me. Every day I called for about an hour and a half, spent about an hour on WEB surfing, as well as in total SMS, navigation, a few games - all this was about an hour and a half. As a result, by the end of the working day, the system usually “peeped”, which, they say, was less than 15%. I didn’t charge at night - for these purposes, as a rule, no more than an hour and a half in the morning was enough.

The earpiece speaker in the system is excellent - the user, with virtually no distortion, can be heard even at 60% of the maximum volume level.

But the loudspeaker power of the loudspeaker is not enough - here it would not hurt the manufacturer to pay attention to this. On a call, of course, enough, but no more.

For example, I would not listen to MP3 through such a speaker, even though I am by no means a music lover.

Equipment

The presence of a single-core processor brings this smartphone closer in status to the HTC One V, but the correction for the display diagonal says that it can also act as an alternative to the HTC One S. At the same time LG Optimus L7 (P705) the price is between these smartphones from HTC.

The LG L7 received a Qualcomm MSM7227a single-core GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and Adreno 200 graphics.

With four gigabytes of memory, which is designated as memory for "user needs", the latter has about three available (2.7 GB to be exact).

Work is supported in GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as UMTS/HSDPA 900/1900/2100 MHz.

Brief specifications of LG Optimus L7

shell

AT LG L7 implemented a proprietary shell from the smartphone manufacturer - Optimus UI 3.0. This software package has undergone many changes and additions, which, at the same time, in my opinion, seem very interesting and worthwhile to dwell on them in more detail.

On the lock screen, after turning on the backlight, information about the time, date and network appears. All this is presented in the widget format - it is decorated very beautifully, and one might say, even elegantly.

The main desktop is represented by widgets and shortcuts. In order to configure it, you need to select the appropriate sub-item in the menu. Make everything easy on an intuitive level.

The top panel contains shortcuts for quick launch of wireless interfaces. The line of these labels can also be edited at your discretion by going to the appropriate menu.

The main menu consists of the tabs "applications", "downloaded", as well as "widgets". Here, too, I'm sure everything is clear without further explanation.

Bluetooth and WiFi

The Bluetooth wireless module is made in the third edition. Among the potential capabilities of the device, an item is implemented that is responsible for searching for a device option. Here the user can set up a certain filter, according to which the search module will work. It is proposed to filter by device category, that is, to search either only for wireless headphones, or phones or PCs, or some kind of wireless accessory, or all of the above devices. In addition, the user can set the visibility time of the device, as well as view the received files and more. Of course, A2DP support is also here.

The Wi-Fi module even supports the N speed profile, as well as 802.11 b and g profiles.

The module can notify the user when an open access point is detected. It can also configure a protocol that allows you to avoid untrusted connections, as well as work with a security policy when switching to sleep mode, and much more.

Internet browser and email

The Internet browser is not very fast, but all the pages that I loaded (including flash) displayed correctly.

Among its features are the creation of bookmarks and easy management of them, the ability to send a page, search on the page, and more. It's also nice that the menu has the ability to adjust the backlight of the browser. You can also enable the full version of the browser, or "smartphone" mode.

It is also available to work in full format with security settings, etc.

Working with email is easy. Two clients that have already become traditional are the "regular" Gmail, and a no less "regular" application based on POP3 / IMAP. I am sure that there is nothing to dwell on here - to one degree or another, the topic is simply written out.

Audio and video

With regard to music and near music applications, attention is paid to the MP3 player and the FM receiver.

The player offers to organize compositions in several directions: "artists", "songs", as well as folders.

Ratings - 8 , average score: 3.6 ()
