The identification number of the postal item. Tracking postal items

The site will help you find out where your package is. On this page we will tell you about our service - parcel tracking.

How it works

If you ordered a parcel from a foreign online store, then you will be provided with a tracking number.

Usually it is sent by e-mail, phone or as a comment on the order in the personal account on the website. The track code allows you to track an international parcel at all stages of its journey. Starting with sending from the post office and ending with its receipt by the addressee. If you want to know which country the parcel is flying over or what kind of control it has gone through, then the tracking number has been invented for you.

Site mechanics

In order to find out where your package is, you need to enter the tracking number and the country to which it arrives.

The country where the seller is located will be determined by the system. Copy the code and paste in the top margin on the page. After that, select your country from the drop-down list and click on the green button below. Your request has been accepted. Now it's up to our search engine.

How long does it take to check the track number
Processing the process will take from 30 seconds to two minutes, depending on the sending parameters. This will include the following criteria: finding the country of the sender, finding the sending postal company and loading all stages of the journey.
What to do if the parcel is not found
According to the rules of the Russian Post, information about the movement of the parcel arrives within 3-5 days. If the tracking number does not come even after 5 days, then you should contact our forum. In it, other users will help you deal with the problem, share their experiences and tell you who to contact in a similar situation. If nothing was found by your track code, then enter your e-mail and we will send you a notification by e-mail at the first changes in the status of the cargo.

Choice of members of the forum
Below the form to fill out, you will find the rating of the service and the number of voters.

As you can see, our service helps people. This is the main thing for us, which is why it is free. Compare email systems, recommend them to others and have fun shopping with us!

How to track the movement of a parcel from abroad?

To track the movements of international postal items (IGOs), a postal monitoring system has been developed, the main tool of which is a unique tracking number - a tracking number. This number consists of numeric and alphabetic characters, and is also duplicated in the form of a barcode. Modern postal logistics terminals are equipped with barcode scanners and when the IGO passes through such a terminal, the tracking number data is read and sent to the servers of the international postal monitoring system.

Thanks to this system, it is very easy to find out the location of the IGO. This can be done on the websites of government postal services or private logistics companies. In addition, there are convenient tracking services - trackers that combine tracking systems of many countries and private carriers.

What is a tracking number?

Tracking number is a number for tracking the movement of your shipment provided by the postal services. The tracking number is standardized by the Universal Postal Union and has a strict structure.

The standard international tracking number is XX123456789XX:

  • the first letters indicate the type of shipment, for example, CA-CZ - tracking package, EA-EZ - express package sent by one of the international express delivery services, for example, EMS, RA-RZ - small registered package with tracking, LA-LZ - small package without tracking
  • followed by a unique eight-digit code, and the ninth digit is a check value calculated using a special algorithm,
  • the last Latin letters indicate the country from which the parcel was dispatched, for example, CN– China, US– USA, DE– Germany.

Official and complete information is available here (PDF document, English).

Use the form provided on the UPU website (Excel spreadsheet) to verify that the tracking number is in compliance with the standard.

The seller has provided a tracking number, but there is no movement in the package.

  • Information in the mail monitoring system may be received with delays. The normal situation is a delay of 3-5 days.
  • The seller provided a pre-reserved number, but in fact the package has not yet been dispatched. Wait 3-5 days and clarify the situation with the seller.

I just paid for my order and the seller has already given me a tracking number. All this is suspicious.

There is nothing suspicious about this, because the system of reserving mail items, which are redeemed in advance, has been operating abroad for a long time. The seller only needs to enter the addressee's details and print a ready-made form with a tracking number.

What information can I get from my tracking number?

The tracking number provides the following information:

  • method of sending IGOs;
  • from where (export) and where (import) is the IGO moving;
  • find out the stages of movement of the IGO - export, intermediate points of delivery, import, customs clearance, delivery to the addressee through the territory of the recipient country;
  • the mass of IGOs (not always provided);
  • Full name and exact address of the recipient (usually this information is available on the official trackers of postal and courier services).

Judging by the track number, the parcel is being sent to another country.

  • The seller mistakenly provided the track number of another parcel or confused it with numbers. Ask for clarification on this point.
  • A failure has occurred in the mail monitoring system. The package will still be delivered to its index and address.
  • The seller deliberately provided a different track number, the parcel might not have been sent at all, hoping for a lack of experience or the client's carelessness. This is often the fault of Chinese sellers.

The IGO tracking number has a non-standard look. Why?

The standard tracking number XX123456789XX is specific only to national postal operators that are members of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). Obtaining a non-standard tracking number has several common reasons:

  • The parcel was sent through large private delivery services - DHL Express, UPS, Fedex, SPSR, Meest, etc., which have their own internal standards for the formation of a tracking number. Usually this number has only a numerical format and is tracked on the sites of these services or on aggregator trackers;
  • The package is shipped from China via local carriers.
  • the seller wrote the tracking number wrong. Here you need to check with the seller if the number provided is correct;
  • The seller knowingly provided a false tracking number in order to defraud the customer. This is typical for Chinese sellers on Aliexpress. In this situation, only a dispute will help.

My order was shipped through a national postal operator, but no international tracking number was provided. Why?

Not all mailings will automatically receive an international tracking number. The fact is that all IGOs are divided into "small packages" and "parcels". A standard small package (parcel post) is considered to be a shipment weighing less than 2 kg and a tracking number is not assigned to them. In some cases, it is possible for an additional fee to register such an IGO and obtain a tracking number. IGOs weighing more than 2 kg fall into the category of parcels and are assigned a tracking number, but in this case it does not always have an international format. Parcels are divided into regular and priority (registered). The latter have an international tracking number.

Who should provide me with a tracking number?

In the case of purchases in foreign online stores and auctions, the tracking number is provided by the seller after the order has been paid.

What determines the speed of delivery of IGOs?

There are a lot of conditions and factors here. The main ones include:

  • choice of delivery method - regular or priority (express) mail;
  • the choice of the delivery operator is a state postal service or a private express carrier. The speed of delivery by private courier services can be 3-5 times faster than using regular postal services;
  • features of the work of postal operators in a particular country. For example, the US post USPS is much faster than the Russian Post;
  • the distance between the sender and the recipient;
  • from the season, weather conditions, cataclysms. For example, during the period of Christmas sales and the pre-New Year rush, the flow of parcels increases sharply and postal operators do not have time to process all parcels on time. This leads to delays.

When exactly will I receive my package?

There is no exact answer to this question. In this case, it is much more correct to operate with the concept - the expected delivery time. The website of each national postal operator has information on the average delivery time in one way or another to a specific country. Stores also provide this information when choosing a delivery method.

A clearer situation is with courier carriers - DHL Express, UPS, Fedex, SPSR, etc. In 80% of cases, delivery is carried out on the same day or in the next 3 days (if there are no problems at customs).

Delivery times for standard IGOs to Russia from the USA and European countries fluctuate within the following time limits:

  • EMS shipments - 7-14 days.
  • Registered parcels and parcels - 14-30 days (depending on the distance from the key centers of international postal exchange).
  • Simple packages and parcels - 18-40 days.
  • The average delivery time for parcels and parcels from China and the countries of Southeast Asia is about 21-40 days.

I was sent a parcel weighing 1 kg (for example), and according to the track number in Russia, the mass became 0 (or much less than 1 kg). What is the reason for this?

This is a very common situation when, after exporting to Russia, the parcel “loses weight” up to 0 grams. It's just that some sorters are too lazy to weigh each IGO and enter this data into the tracking system.

The second option is sadder. If, at some stage of delivery or customs clearance, the parcel has lost its weight sharply, then this may indicate the theft of the attachment. This is a direct reason to insist on opening the parcel at the post office upon receipt. A package with a difference in weight must have a corresponding certificate.

The package by DHL Express, UPS, Fedex was delayed by the Russian customs (sent to the store). For what reason?

The most common reason is the excess of the investment cost limit for courier IGOs, which for Russians is 200 euros. You can read more about the features of the work of courier services in our articles:

Also, some courier services organize delivery only to large cities of the Russian Federation, and if you are a resident of a small city on the periphery and do not have the opportunity to come to the company's office, then the parcel will be sent back.

My package ended up in another country. What should I do?

There are two possible reasons:

  • The parcel is delivered in transit through third countries and the final destination has not changed. There is no need to worry here, this is normal practice. Especially when delivered by courier services.
  • The seller mixed up the tracking numbers or entered the wrong shipping address. This happens extremely rarely and here you should solve the problem directly with the seller.

The package was sent from the USA via USPS. What is it and where can you track such parcels?

Delivery from China (Aliexpress and other stores) via Swiss Post and Sweden Post

Recently, many sellers on Aliexpress have offered a choice of shipping via Switzerland and Sweden postal operators. For many, this raises a natural question - what does China and Switzerland Post have to do with it ?! The point is that the Swiss Post and Sweden Post have representations in China and deliver parcels from the Middle Kingdom with a transit point in Switzerland and Sweden, respectively. The Chinese began to use the services of European carriers due to the serious prohibitions of the Chinese Post, Hong Kong and Singapore Post on the shipment of Li-Ion batteries. Delivery scheme: Singapore - Switzerland / Sweden - Russia (other countries). The track number for such shipments is RXXXXXXXXXXCH for the Swiss Post and RXXXXXXXXXXSE for the Sweden Post.

Tracking is available on the Swiss Post website www.swisspost.ch and the Sweden Post website www.posten.se

What does “sent to airline” status mean? How long will the parcel take after receiving the “sent to airline” status?

“Sent to airline” is the last status a package can receive while in China. After the parcel has received the “sent to airline” status, it is no longer under the control of China Post. As a rule, the parcel will arrive in the country of destination within 2-4 weeks from the date of receipt of the “sent to airline” status. Usually the “sent to airline” status does not change until the package reaches its destination or is delivered to the recipient.

Be careful if more than 30 days have passed since you received the “sent to airline” status and you still have not received your package. Perhaps it got lost or its shipment was delayed in another country. In order for the seller or store to return the money to you, you need to file a claim.

What does the “Import Security Scan” status mean?

If your package has received the “Import Security Scan” status, there are three options:

  1. If the package was originally sent from outside of China, and the LOCATION column contains a city in China, for example, Beijing, Shanghai, etc., this means that the package was delivered to China and will be delivered to the recipient after customs clearance. See the question How to get a refund for a lost parcel or a parcel that took a long time to arrive.

What does the “Import Customs Scan” status mean?

If your parcel has received the “Import Customs Scan” status, there are three options:

  1. If the package was originally sent from China and the LOCATION column contains a city in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, etc., it means that the package was sent back to China from overseas. Typically, the package is sent back to the supplier and the recipient will receive it later if the supplier pays an additional shipping fee and resends the package.
  2. If the parcel was originally sent from China, and the recipient country is indicated in the LOCATION column, this means that the parcel was delivered to the customs of the country of destination and will be delivered to the recipient after customs clearance.
  3. If the package was originally sent from outside of China, and the LOCATION column contains a city in China, for example, Beijing, Shanghai, etc., this means that the package was delivered to China and will be delivered to the recipient after customs clearance.

What does “In Customs-Control warehouse” status mean? How long will it take?

The “In Customs-Control warehouse” status means that the package is in the customs warehouse awaiting inspection before export or airmail.

What should I do if the status of my parcel does not change for a long time from the status “Export Security Scan”, “Export Customs Scan”?

What does the status “Success find: 0 items!” Mean or “China Post has not received the parcel”?

If you tracked the package by the tracking number and the status of the package is “China post has not received the parcel” or “Success find: 0 items!” ("Result - 0 parcels"), this means that the seller (supplier) gave you a non-existent (invalid) tracking number that is not assigned to any shipped parcel in the China Post database.

There may be several reasons:

  1. The tracking number is wrong.
  2. Less than 48 hours have passed since the seller sent the goods, China Post has not yet updated the parcel information.
  3. The seller did not ship the items for some reason, such as “out of stock,” but plans to ship them later.

To understand what is at stake in the three points above, you need to know how the parcel tracking system works by number:
China Post can easily affix a non-existent number label to any package. Tracking number is invalid and your parcel cannot be tracked until China Post assigns this number to it. Paypal, ebay and Aliexpress sometimes receive non-existent tracking numbers from many scammers who send these numbers to fill in the payment details. Many marketplaces like ebay or Aliexpress require the seller to ship within 24 hours of payment, so some sellers may provide a non-existent tracking number to avoid penalties. Later, when the seller restocks the goods, he uses the same tracking number to send the goods, and by this number it will be possible to track the parcel on the site within 48 hours after the actual date of dispatch.

What should I do if the status of my package is “Success find: 0 items!” or “China Post has not received the parcel”?

  • If you received the tracking number within 48 hours of shipment, you may need to wait another two days for the China Post database to update.
  • If you received the tracking number more than two days ago, you may need to contact the seller and check with him the real date of dispatch and the real number of the parcel. Tell the seller that you want to track the parcel by the number on the site within 48 hours after sending, otherwise you will file a claim. Typically, the seller will provide a new tracking number, actual shipping date, or projected shipping date, which you can check later on the site.
  • If the seller gives you incorrect shipment information again or does not respond at all, you must file a claim with ebay, Aliexpress or Paypal and request a refund. You can also leave negative feedback about a scammer after a refund.

What does the “Export Security Scan” status mean? How long will it take?

What does the “Export Customs Scan” status mean? How long will it take?

“Export Customs Scan” means that the parcel is ready for customs inspection. Once the customs check is over, the package will be sent by air mail.

What does the status “Arrival at inward office of exchange” mean?

“Arrival at inward office of exchange” means that the parcel has been delivered to the customs of the country of destination. As soon as the customs clearance of the parcel received from abroad is completed, the parcel will be delivered to the recipient by the postal service of the country of destination.

What does “Departure from outward office of exchange” status mean? How long will it take?

“Departure from outward office of exchange” means that the parcel is ready for customs clearance. Once the verification is over, the parcel will be sent by airmail.

What do the statuses "NULL", "PEK NULL", "PVG NULL", "Opening" mean?

Some users, after searching on other sites, see that the status of the parcel is “NULL” (“ZERO”), ”PEK NULL” (“PEK ZERO”), ”PVG NULL” (“PVG ZERO”) or “Opening” ) etc. In fact, these strange statuses are errors as a result of incorrect translation of the China Post database.

How to file a claim and request a refund for an incorrect parcel number and a parcel that has not been received?

Many recipients whose parcels are delivered by China Post often ask the following questions:

  1. The website tracker informs that the package was returned to the seller, but the seller does not confirm receipt of the return and refuses to return the money, how can I get the money back?
  2. The tracker shows that the package was returned to the supplier, or gives the status "unsuccessful delivery". How do I get a refund from China Post?
  3. The status of the package has not changed for more than 40 days, I still have not received the package, can I contact the seller or China Post for a refund?
The answers to these questions are practically the same:
China Post does not work directly with the recipient. China Post only accepts inquiries and claims from a supplier who has an original receipt for shipment.
So, it is better for the recipient to use the mechanisms provided by ebay, aliexpress, paypal and file a claim for non-receipt of the parcel as soon as possible.

Once you have filed a claim, the seller must confirm that the package was successfully delivered to the buyer. If he / she cannot provide such confirmation, the money will be automatically returned to the buyer.

How to file such a claim for non-receipt of a parcel?
Ebay, paypal and aliexpress have a link to a web page called a "dispute resolution center" or a "claim center". You can file a claim for non-receipt of the parcel there. All detailed guides can be found on the website:

Is there a period when you can file a claim for non-receipt of a parcel?
YES. On ebay and paypal, you need to file a claim within 45 days of payment. On aliexpress, this period is 60 days.

What if I miss the deadline for filing a claim and still want a refund?
If you miss the deadline for filing a claim, then the only thing you can do is contact the seller. Large sellers with a lot of positive reviews are more likely to come up with an option that suits you in exchange for a positive review. This will boost sales in their store.

What if I buy products from a site that does not have a "claim center" and I did not pay with paypal?
Unfortunately, in this case it will not be easy for you to get your money back, often impossible. Therefore, we advise you to buy goods from Chinese sellers on major marketplaces such as ebay, Aliexpress, Amazon, DX, etc., with a high level of buyer protection.

If you buy goods on little-known sites, try to pay for purchases through Paypal. NEVER use bank transfers, money transfer systems such as Moneygram or Western Union, electronic currencies such as bitcoin to pay for goods, even if you make purchases on well-known platforms - ebay or Aliexpress, but from unfamiliar sellers.

If a trouble did occur and you paid for the purchase with a payment card, you can contact the bank and use the refund procedure - chargeback. The procedure is described in the article:

Status of the parcel from China Airlines, location PEK. What is it?

The PEK code has been assigned by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to the Beijing Capital International Airport. This status means that the package was sent from this airport to the country of destination.

You can track your international parcel❓

Tracking international parcels is our favorite pastime :). There are slight differences from the domestic mail of the Russian Post. The postal identifier assigned to international parcels usually contains additional characters in the form of capital Latin letters, each country has its own unique set of letters. For example, for Russia it is “RU”, parcels sent from / to China are marked with the letters “CH”, Hong Kong is identified as “HK” - a complete list of countries and postal codes is available on the wikipedia website. Why suddenly we decided to tell you about these mysterious country codes, the fact is that many users enter only numbers in the tracking field, without letters, or enter letters in Cyrillic (Russian keyboard layout) - because of these errors, the service cannot find parcel by number. Correctly enter the track number with all the information (letters and numbers) in the indicated order + type letters on the English layout - then the site will be able to track the package in the database. Examples of the format of international parcel numbers:

  • RU201586016HK
  • RU383267170CN
  • NL111741297EN

What to do if tracking of a parcel of Russian Post “failed”? Or possible reasons for the lack of information on the parcel:

  • The first, it is also the most frequent (believe our experience) reason for the problem with the lack of information on tracking the parcel is a banally incorrectly entered mailing number. Check the number entered in the tracking field, if you entered everything correctly - read on;)
  • Perhaps the parcel was sent just a few hours ago and that is why the service cannot find the parcel in the Russian Post database. Conclusion: if your parcel was sent no later than 24 hours, we strongly advise against worrying about its loss, everything will be fine :) Try to repeat the “tracking parcel” after a while.
  • Tracking the parcels failed due to a failure in the service - yes, this can even be with us :) The fact is that on our website, as well as on the official website of the Russian Post (pochta.ru), there are delays or failures in the work of electronic databases that lead to temporary tracking delays. What is the tracking number of a parcel?

The word “track” has migrated to us from the English language, its “parent” is tracking (EMS is an abbreviation of the Russian Post division responsible for express delivery. The main difference between ems items and “ordinary” parcels is the speed of their delivery to the final addressee. much faster ✈ and as a rule by courier from hand to hand The downside when sending EMS parcels is the cost of such services - it is several times higher than standard rates.

Any registered postal item, be it a parcel, parcel post or registered letter, has an individual track number. Using the track number, the sender or recipient, or any other person who knows this code, can track the movement of the parcel or registered letter from the moment of receipt to the moment it is received by the final addressee. But how do you find out the track number of a parcel sent by mail?

So, after registering the parcel at the Russian Post office, the parcel is assigned a unique track number. In this case, the track code is indicated in the check-receipt, which, without fail, the mail operator hands over to the sender.

The number we are interested in consists of 14 digits. In this case, sometimes the last digit is indicated with a space - it must also be taken into account.

The track number in the check can be indicated after the words: “ RPO No.….», « Postal ID number" etc. But in any case, it will not be difficult to find the combination of 14 numbers we need.

If you are the recipient of a parcel or a registered letter, then for tracking, ask the sender for the track number. Online stores and private sellers very often provide the tracking number themselves, without any additional request from the buyer.

How to find out the track number of a parcel if you have lost a receipt

It happens that the check is lost or someone threw it out of the household. After all, few people keep receipts from the store, and how is a postal check better?

The check-receipt, which is issued by mail, must be saved without fail, not only in order to find the tracking number of the shipment at the right time, but also in case of loss of the parcel - the check will be needed to write a search application.

So how do you find out the track number of the parcel if the receipt was lost? The only option in this case is to contact the Russian Post office again, from where you made the shipment, and ask to see the track number based on your last name and the date the parcel was sent. If you do not remember the date, then you can find the data by last name. The less time passes from the moment the parcel was sent, the greater the chance that the data you need will be found.

At the same time, as they write on the forums, it is not the responsibility of the mail operator to search for data about the shipment, if the check was suddenly lost. That is, in this case, you should only rely on the responsiveness of the mail employee. True, in some regions there is a paid additional service at the post office to restore a lost check.

Russian Post is the national state postal operator of Russia, a full member of the Universal Postal Union, providing domestic and international postal services. Carries out reception, dispatch and receipt of postal items: parcels, small packages, parcels and correspondence; provides financial and delivery services to both individuals and businesses.

Russian and foreign online stores often send orders to customers just by this postal service or integrate with its delivery to provide high-quality and inexpensive services. For example, on the basis of post offices, it organized express delivery and points of issue of orders, reducing the time for issuing orders in Russia to 2-5 days. Several shipping companies are combining their freight capabilities with the vast resources of the national postal operator. So recently I created a joint project with the Russian Post "Rural Delivery" for delivery to remote points, regional and regional centers of Russia, where there are no own branches.

According to the press center, in the 1st quarter of 2018, the Russian Post processed 95.7 million international mail, and more than 60% of Internet buyers used delivery services. In 2018, the second stage of a sorting center will be built in Vnukovo, and in 3 years the network of logistics centers will be expanded throughout the country. According to forecasts of e-commerce experts, the growth of international inbound shipments will continue, mainly due to parcels from China.

Active promotion in the Russian-speaking market of such large Chinese stores as Banggood, as well as rapidly gaining popularity new players, and significantly increased the flow of incoming mail. Nevertheless, the Russian Post continues to provide high-quality services for the delivery of parcels, both international and domestic.

Tracking of parcels in Russia

When registering, a postal item is assigned a tracking number, with which you can track when it was sent, the stages of movement and the date of receipt at the post office. The tracking service allows you to control the receipt of the shipment and is especially useful in resolving disputes with the seller in the event of inconsistencies. The name and address of the recipient will help to make sure that the parcel is on its way, and the weight of the shipment will help you to approximately estimate the contents of the attachment. The last delivery status will inform the sender of the successful delivery of the goods.

In addition to simple letters, all other shipments within Russia always go as registered. Incoming international letters and small packages can be sent as unregistered too. In these cases, it remains only to rely on the decency of the sender or seller and on the absence of various excesses. If the parcel is lost or not sent without proof of non-receipt, neither the postal services nor the sellers will refund money for the goods and shipping.

Tracking data can also help you in filing claims for non-compliance with delivery deadlines. The Russian Post website directly states responsibility for violation of these deadlines.

Tracking a parcel of the Russian Post by identification number

The barcode postal identifier (SPI) for domestic items of the Russian Post consists of 14 digits, where:

  • the first six digits indicate the recipient's post office code,
